- Tracey (10/5): The accommodation was fantastic - the hosts clearly enjoy and are proud of their premise. - Everything was clean, and it was well stocked with non-essentials like tea, coffee and snacks. The house was warm, and provided apparently very good access to some of the touristic spots in the area (unfortunately there was no time for exploring). They provided very good information on the local area and even a little history from themselves, which made the place feel very homely and comfortable.

Clare was so attentive to all my needs even providing a beautiful welcome pack for both myself and my dog . I would certainly recommend it to anyone who was visiting that area . The local beach of Skinningrove was so close and amazing .Staithes is also a beautiful little fishing village very close to the cottage and well worth a visit
- Billmo1 (10/5): Cozy, comfortable and convenient - The propert is exceptionally well maintained. Bedrooms very clean and comfortable. Kitchen is well stocked with untensils/cups/glasses etc and a lovely welcome package of milk/cookies/crisps and dog treats! We were quite happy to use this as an over night stay to explore local areas such as Saltburn and Marske. There are lots of lovely places to visit within easy reach of the property. A little bit of noise from the near-by steel works but not obtrusive.
- Brenda (10/5): Beautifully decorated - Gorgeous little cottage, beautifully decorated. Everything you could need and wonderful little treats left by the owner. I could still smell wet dog downstairs from a previous visitor but it didn’t over shadow what a gorgeous cottage it was.
- Julie (10/5): We had a lovely stay overnight and would recommend the property to people looking to explore the area - The cottage was immaculate and very modern and tasteful decor, which fitted the seaside ambience of the area. Attention to detail and catering for families with children and pets.
The owner was helpful and treats were left.
The cottage smells fresh and inviting and information is left about the area. Nothing is left out regarding comfort and safety. Altogether, a lovely experience. The main bedroom is quite small, so the bed is a small double and could be a problem for some people who prefer a bigger bed.
- Janet (10/5): The cottage was delightful, comfortable, practical and with easy access to lots of lovely places. - It was warm and cosy and beautifully presented. Lots of thoughtful touches to make it a home from home.
- Ian (7/5): Overhaul very comfortable stay and with everything you need was well thought about - Lack of secure back outside space when you have dog's. Need to make this clear on the web site descriptions

- Hall (9/5): Storm cottage at Carlin How - The cottage was super clean the facilities were excellent, the welcome tray and the dog goodies were a lovely treat As a group of 4 adults we would have preferred twin beds rather than the bunk beds, I didn't realise that was the option but maybe I missed that in the room description

Carlin How is a perfect location to explore the fishing villages between Whitby & Redcar. Carlin How is a down to earth village with 2 friendly pubs, when you can have a couple of reasonable priced beers to finish the day after returning from exploring the coast.
Usually go Filey, Scarborough, Whitby & Brid, but will be definitely be coming up this way again, and to this cottage Nothing.

- Anonymous (9/5): Felt at home in this clean and beautiful cottage. - It was very clean and everything was in great condition. The location for us was perfect as visiting friends on way up to Scotland. Amazing communication from host before arrival! The bed for us wasn’t the most comfortable but this is personal preference.
- Sonya (8/5): Brief visit to Carlin How on way to Whitby. - The cottage was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. The owners were incredibly helpful and responsive. The beds were really comfortable. We loved Skinningrove beach, visiting Staithes and Saltburn. The neighbours were really friendly. The owner's left a really thoughtful wecome basket. There were two minor problems with the cottage- the seating in the livingroom was really uncomfortable; more like waiting room seats. This was ok for one night but we wouldn't want to stay more then two nights. There was also scented diffusers all over the cottage; causing problems for my asthma and husband's migraines. If it wasn't for these two things the cottage would be perfect. Despite this we want to thank the owners for their wonderful hospitality.
- Louise (10/5): Wonderful stay at a wonderful cottage with wonderful hosts. - Such a lovely cottage. The hosts couldn't be more welcoming and kind. Thank you for such a great stay!
- Benjamim (10/5): Cozy Christmas getaway - Felt very welcomed and appreciated being able to self check in. Clare was at hand via messaging for anything we needed. The place was very dog friendly which our pooches loved. The place had everything we needed for our Christmas stay and seemed that everything had been thought of! Some gorgeous coastal spots near by...especially Skinningrove beach, Staithes and Saltburn by the sea. Very good value for money. Thankyou for our lovely treat hamper Clare and for considering my dietary requirements...the vegan bits were delicious.
