Guest Reviews
- Denver (10/5): Perfect place for a walking holiday - Nice and cosy everything you need for a stay
- Gillian (8/5): - somewhere to put my clothes would have been nice.
- Jim (9/5): The Birdsong is glorious. - This is a beautiful part of England, especially in Spring. The local Pub is currently closed, so you have to walk into Brough or Kirby Stephen
- Sam (10/5): Brilliant - It's lovely, the perfect cosy getaway! Great coffee machine and a terrific shower!
- Rebecca (10/5): -
- Alessandra (10/5): Great little jem♡♡ - Perfect in everything, clean and cozy, with all the essential you need, also a fenced garden very pretty. But the top is the espresso coffee machine ♡ this is a place where i would come back for sure, owners are amazing people♡
- Rebecca (10/5): Fantastic stay! Excellent hosts - Lovely room, super helpful hosts with immediate responses. Would definitely recommend
- Anne (9/5): Perfect base for my walking holiday - Only 5 minutes drive outside Kirkby Stephen, this was a very comfortable and generally well equipped 'one bedroom apartment' - an annexe at a farm, it felt more like a cosy cottage. Underfloor heating (with your own controls) added to the cosiness. Owners were very friendly and made sure I had everything I needed.
In better weather I would like to have made use of the table and chairs outside my little side door into a little walled kitchen garden (with grass). The kitchenette is compact, but has a worktop combi convection-microwave oven and a one pan induction hob. Even a De'Longhi espresso coffee maker with fresh coffee (as well as a kettle and cafetiere, and teapot). A bit lacking in daylight, but plenty of lamps and overhead lighting so it wasn't a problem.
- John (9/5): Pleasant - Apartment cosy and comfortable,Welcome pack .Good amenities. Well situated Nothing
- Clive (7/5): Comfortable stay -

Kind touch of bottle of milk, chilled water and sweets. Nothing

- Alistair (8/5): Great overnight stop-off - Comfortable good value overnight stay. Perfect for a single traveller. Communication from the hosts was excellent.
- PAMELA (10/5): The second of many stays we hope to have here! - A perfectly created and curated ultra-comfortable stay on the edge of the Lake District. Convenient and charming as a stopover between the South and Scotland and also ideal for exploring this beautiful area. Nothing
- Claire (10/5): -
- Chris (10/5): Excellent location & very comfortable accommodation. - Quiet, tastefully decorated, well equipped & comfortable. Nothing
- Kay (8/5): Perfect! Cozy little home from home. - Lovely little annexe, well equipped and cozy. Hosts had placed Milk and water in fridge and fresh coffee was also available. Packet of cereal for breakfast too! Cozy little home from home! Lots of pre arrival info which was really helpful. N/a
- Pamela (10/5): An ideal and lovely half-way stopover on my drive to Scotland from SE England. - Lovely little self-contained annexe to a farm cottage. The owners had proved everything you could need. Every thing had been thought of. Nothing

- Peter (9/5): Superb - The Annex has been very thoughtfully built and furnished with good quality generous choices and uses the space perfectly. The host also provided many little extra touches like a coffee machine, slippers/dressing gown, and sweet goodies. She was easy to find and very helpful and welcoming of any queries.. A great value little place. Will be even better when the grass at the back is established in a couple of weeks and the back garden is accessible.too.
- Jenny (10/5): Perfect - Omg so cute. Very private and quiet. Loved the wall mural gave me inspiration for my own house. Hosts were lovely super friendly and made sure i was well looked after. Best shower iv had in my journey from the scottish highlands. Honestly couldnt fault this beautiful little annex. Extra special touches like chocolates on arrival, fresh milk, slippers, dressing gowns the list goes on every detail done to perfection. Real thought and care has been taken to make your stay perfect.
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- Helen (10/5): I’d be back any time - Loved having the espresso machine, the lovely touches of freshly ground coffee, local fresh milk in a bottle, snacks and overall a great place
- Virginia (10/5): Thank you - Perfect All good
- Mar-gerrison (10/5): Exceptional - The same as on 10th April.
- Mar-gerrison (9/5): Anne, Willow and Phoebe - Neatness and good use of space. Well equipped. Especially appreciated the cafetiere and real coffee. Needed to ask for help with TV as I couldn't work out how to use it. Once garden is done it will be super. Dogs could have got out down the side so I stayed out with them.
- Peter (8/5): Excellent place for a short stay in the area. - Very comfortable, quiet, clean and a good location close to both Brough and Kirkby Stephen. The wet room is excellent -well heated and plenty of room. On the Friday evening we ended up eating at the Outfitters Cafe Bar in Brough. We weren't sure what to expect but it was excellent - quirky, friendly, simple but nicely cooked food (a variety of burgers for the main course) and homemade deserts and all at a very reasonable price. A great place to stay for one or two nights. Your self-catering is likely to be a bit limited. There is a microwave but no conventional oven. There is a plug-in hob stored under the worktop and this works well but there isn't a lot of worktop space. Other things like toaster and coffee-making machine are there so you should be able to enjoy a decent breakfast. For an evening meal try the Outfitters (see above).
- Stephen (6/5): Pleasant - Location was next to road so easy to find Bed settee was only a fold out single seat, room was a bedsit with everything in one room.
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional - The property provided just what I was looking for and needed. The snow
- Peter (8/5): - - - -
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Navtej (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dixon (10/5): Exceptional - Compact with thoughtful use of space and lots of facilities fantastic shower room with robes and slippers provided , comfortable bed .
- Andrea (10/5): Excellent, will definitely return - Absolutely perfect for our night's stay whilst we visited our son in the area. We will definitely return to this property, would highly recommend. Jilly met us on arrival offering us a torch for the lock box to obtain the keys to the annexe. Plenty of room for our dog within the accommodation . Only downside couldn't connect TV to standard channels ie BBC only I player etc, but didn't affect our stay will most definitely be back.
- Dave (9/5): Superb -
- Sylvia (10/5): loved the place -warm and cosy - This was a small studio apartment which was designed with great flare and to my taste. We found the bed and bedding very comfortable and slept well. We enjoyed coffee using the machine in the morning. The wet room is lovely and has underfloor heating. The host was v helpful when we were warned that A66 was closed whilst travelling down from Scotland on M6 during storm Dara. Thank you for telling us that it was only closed after your turn off, we were late and did not want to drive more than necessary. For a longer stay - a stove top would be necessary for me [apols if I missed one!]
A comfortable armchair would be good
- Dixon (10/5): stopover - compact ,excellent wet room really good shower .
Well equipped kitchen area ,good welcome package including milk from the farm. nothing ,not to like .
- Administrator (10/5): Property was exceptionally clean, comfortable, warm and great location to my office. -
- Lesley (10/5): Exceptional - Good location near to Kirkby Stephen, excellent value
- D (10/5): we have stayed in and around penrith for 4 months now for work and this is one of the best - what a beautiful place So well prepared and everything you could need how can you improve perfection ?
- Sara (8/5): Owners couldn’t have been more helpful. Beautiful area - Perfect for a one night stop over or short stay. Peaceful, warm and cosy Nothing wrong
- R (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely room, with all requirements met. Instructions before arrival were excellent and Jilly was lovely. Will definitely rebook should I need somewhere in the area again. Nothing. All was lovely.
- Craig (10/5): Exceptional - The value for was excellent. I needed somewhere to stay with my wife and pet for the night. It was peaceful and quiet in a nice place. It was also good that there was brewing gear left for you to use. What a nice little touch. I can't think of anything I didn't like about the place
- Travis (10/5): Exceptional - Superb. Would definitely recommend.
- Susan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lynda (6/5): Pleasant -
- Rob (9/5): Very comfortable, well equipped and clean. - I stayed at the annex for one night as a stopover during a long distance bike ride. Mark was extremely helpful and ensured that I was aware of the amenities in the area and communicated with me very well before and during my visit. The annex was very comfortable clean and I had a very good nights sleep. Nice little touches like fruit and milk/ tea/ hot chocolate/ coffee. For 2 people this is a very good accommodation option. The annex is a little dark due as there are only small windows. For my particular circumstances a breakfast option would have been really good - however there is a galley kitchen for self catering.
- Lisa (10/5): Great little all rounder would highly recommend - Amazing host and fantastic value for money
