Guest Reviews
- Ema (10/5): Ebony Cottage was absolutely idyllic. All we’d imagined and more. - Charming, secluded, romantic, cosy cottage. Almost fairytale. If I have to point to anything, the shower was a little disappointing.
- Emma (10/5): Very relaxing, the cottage had everything. - The comfort of the living area and the fire. The lichen was fully equipped. The shower couldn’t keep to temperature.

- Thomas (10/5): Stunning cottage set in beautiful countryside - Beautiful oak framed timber cottage situated in stunning rolling English countryside. Light and airy in the daytime, whilst cosy and snug in the evenings. Ellie, the host, was lovely to chat to and provided helpful information on the surrounding area.

- garner (10/5): - Fairytale cottage, total peace and quiet in a beautiful setting. The owner left us alone but was there if we needed anything - also she makes tasty butterfly buns which were a lovely welcome.
Very much home from home
Just be aware the cottage is at the end of a single lane track about a mile long and a few miles from amenities but definitely worth it
- Rachel (8/5): Peaceful retreat - Along a winding farm track into the countryside, away from traffic noise sits this lovely cottage. A field behind it and hills in the distance, you just have the birds and sheep for company. It was very peaceful sitting outside having breakfast and reading, listening to the birds and sheep with an occasional visit from the owners Labrador. The cottage had everything we needed and the quality of the kitchen/dining equipment was exceptional. We did okay cooking on the Aga for two of our nights stay, plenty of information on how to use it and cook with it as I've never used one before. We were able to relax and reset in this very peaceful setting. The shower head requires updating, the functions on the head were not working properly so it wasn't quite at full spray. The bed had a bit of a roll together and was a little warm for the time of year due to a blanket and mattress topper being used. But these were only small issues which did not detract from our enjoyment of the few days we were there.
- Jenner (9/5): Tucked away and charming - Charming building and quiet location
- Rob (10/5): Long weekend chill out break. Perfect. - Absolutely stunning cottage, fascinating construction, the finish to all the wood is top class. Photos do not do the property justice at all. Unique character of cottage. Spotless. Friendly and very helpful host. Very comfy bed. Aga was already on when we arrived, which kept the open plan area cosy. Used the log burner each evening, plenty of logs available. Picture perfect, just stunning. Leaving
- Kulvinder (10/5): Restful long weekend filled with long walks with our dog who enjoyed his stay there. A break away from the city with ama - Beautiful cottage that was really warm despite the cold frosty weather. The cottage was quaint and pretty not was secluded enough for us to have a getaway and some peace and quiet after a busy Christmas period, but still quite easily accessible. There was a log fire that was easy to use and gave loads of heat. There was loads of land for us to walk and play with our dog, who loved his stay there as well. It was really dog friendly, and Ellie was lovely she came to meet us on our first night and made one delicious cupcakes for us. The little details spread throughout the property make it even more special. It was easily located with our sat nav as well. We will definitely come again and would recommend this cottage to everyone! Everything was amazing. If I had to say something, it would just be the bathroom was colder than the rest of the house! So nothing major at all! It’s the perfect escape from the city and it really does deliver on that!
- Natalie (10/5): Wow - what a gem of a place and dog friendly too! - Wow - what a gem of a find. Lovely location very quiet and great for 2 boisterous dogs. Field behind the property that can be used to let the dogs run free. Had access to all areas of the vast grounds which was really nice and never worried about our dogs wandering off. Hosts were very welcoming. A great place for two. The only draw back from my perspective was the size of the shower cubicle - a tad snug for the larger person. I also didn't get the chance to use the log burner - it was too warm.
- Michele (10/5): A holiday fantasy come true. I would definitely stay again - Exceptional. Beautiful. It was like all my medieval fantasy dreams came true. Beautiful, quiet, private location, incredible property. Great views, warm and friendly welcome. I loved it and would definitely wish to stay again. It was perfect. There was nothing I didn’t like.
