• FREDERI (10/5): Excellent séjour dans ce cottage au top. - Ce cottage est aussi charmant que confortable, tout y est soigné et de très bon goût (la qualité des matériaux, des équipements, le poêle a bois, les sanitaires...). La vue est superbe et l'emplacement très calme. De plus, Margaret est très attentionnée et réactive, les C/in et C/out très fluides. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour. Absolument rien, tout était parfait.

The view was beautiful, from the bedroom and living room. Comfortable bed and well equipped kitchen. It was flawless. We will definitely be back! I wish I’d been there for another week!

• Andra (10/5): - We absolutely loved our stay at Rowan Cottage. Probably the best smelling cottage I've ever stayed in! You could tell that the hosts put in a lot of love into the decoration and a lot of thought into equipping it with everything you might need. The view was amazing and the area is really quiet. Also, being so close to Portree is definitely a bonus too. We would definitely stay here again.
• Anna (10/5): Loveliest place I’ve stayed in - I had the pleasure of staying here for 3 nights. The place was cozy, spotless, and exactly as described. The bed was very comfortable, and everything I needed was provided. Check-in was smooth, and the host was lovely. They added some small details, like fresh flowers, as well. I'd definitely stay here again!

• Aljaž (10/5): Absolutely amazing! - One of the best apartments I've ever rented. Clean, cosy, well equipped, great location, great view. Very commodious since it is only 12min drive from Portree and somewhat in the middle of all major point of interest of Isle of Skye. /

The location is breathtaking—nestled in the heart of Skye's stunning landscape with panoramic views that look like something out of a postcard. We felt like we had stepped into a peaceful dream. The property itself was spotless, beautifully decorated, and equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable and cozy stay. Every little detail was clearly thought out. Our host was incredibly warm and welcoming, making sure we felt at home. Communication was seamless, and they even left us a welcome basket filled with local treats, which was such a thoughtful touch. Nothing to dislike

Rowan cottage is a lovely build, ECO friendly ethos and created inside and out with care and nice design features whilst affording every possible creature comfort. Margaret welcomed us to Rowan cottage and was very warm, friendly and helpful. Absolutely NOTHING !!
• Judith (10/5): Excellent, attention to detail from the host, spotlessly clean, fantastic! - The location is outstanding, with a beautiful view from both the living-room and bedroom windows looking out on to the water and hills above, what a view! There is no through road and therefore the cottage is exceptionally quiet. Spotlessly clean and smelling wonderful. All appliances are modern and easy to use. The TV has Sky/Netflix etc, lots of lovely books with information on Skye. Central heating means that the cottage is lovely and cozy in the winter. The host had also made extra effort in ensuring that there was all you need to get you started with you stay, bread/milk/fresh orange/chocolate/crisps etc - so thoughtful! Beautiful furnishings throughout making this an absolute gem of a property and we will most definitely stay again should we return to Skye. Would absolutely recommend! Nothing not to like!

The cottage is just perfect, taken care of in every small detail. Beautiful design and at the same time very comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped, which was very important for us. The hosts were kind and attentive to every detail. The cottage was incredibly comfortable, with a fridge and table stocked with delicious treats thoughtfully chosen by our hosts (little cakes, savory snacks, and even beer in the fridge). Absolutely fantastic. Everything was extremely luxurious and comfortable. The kitchen was perfectly equipped with everything we needed, the living room was cozy, and the bathroom was simply delightful. The surroundings of Rowan Cottage are equally enchanting. The location is perfect for nature lovers, with stunning walking trails nearby and breathtaking views of the sea. We can only dream of one thing—returning as soon as possible. What a paradise! nothing. it was above our expectation.

The cottage was immaculate and we loved the extra surprises provided (a welcome package of drinks, snacks, bread and condiments, pillow spray, bathrobes). • Bonnie (10/5): One of the best accomodations we’ve had in Scotland so far. The property is well maintained and has everything you will - Everything! Such a beautiful nice spot to rest for a few days whilst exploring Skye. Having a kitchen and wash machine was a bonus. The owners are lovely and left us some snacks which was such a nice welcome. LOVE the shower and water pressure.

• Jana (10/5): Such a lovely place to be ;-) - The accommodation was amazing. It was equipped with modern furniture, including a modern bathroom with both a bathtub and shower. I loved all those tiny "details" that matter, such as fresh flowers and pillow spray for better sleep. I also liked and appreciated the "starting package", e.g., milk, cheese, wine, etc. ;-) All together, it made me feel like at home, indeed. The view of the cottage was stunning, as was the lake (loch) down there and the mountains behind it. And Margaret and Neil are both so nice people, so good and caring hosts ;-) It was my first visit, but not the last one. N/A
• Stosur (10/5): Five Stars ++! - Everything about our stay at Rowan Cottage was superb. The cottage is gorgeous with everything updated and impeccably clean. The view overlooking the loch with a private patio is stunning. Margaret our host was so kind and friendly, coming by to chat, providing multiple snacks and treats, even bringing us freshly made pancakes! The location is very convenient to Portree and just about everywhere in the amazing Isle of Skye felt accessible. Highly recommend!
• Mirko (10/5): Perfect cottage in the country - This is a perfect small cottage for getting away from it all. It is located 15 minutes drive from Portree (plan for supplies accordingly), with only several houses scattered around in the area. It is a long cabin with large living room/kitchen, luxurious bathroom and bedroom. Main area is separated from the small entry hall and appliances room where the washing machine is tucked away. The whole place was clean and with lots of natural light. Living room and bedroom have large glass windows and doors that lead to small terrace and offer excellent views. Place is luxuriously furnished, and decorated with lots of local details and touches that gives you great feeling of home. Beds were very comfortable, and bedroom was quite large. Kitchen is fully equipped with all appliances we could ever need. Bathroom was large, with a walk in shower and separate bathtub (without shower). Hosts were perfect. They live in the near house and and it felt like having very good neighbors. They provided us with useful information, and provided cottage with useful guides for Isle of Sky and near area, as well as with historical books. Internet connection was very good. I would recommend this place and definitely would come back on next visit to Isle of Skye. -
• Maxime (10/5): Exceptional place, host and views! - Rowan Cottage was even better than what we hoped for. It has all amenities that you would get in a high-end hotel, everything was extremely clean and decorated with taste, and the views were just stunning! And Margaret was very helpful and lovely. We would love to come back! A tad bit more car traffic than what we had expected in front of the cottage. But very minor nuisance altogether.
• Lalita (10/5): Great quiet location and amazing property - The property is new and totally matches the photos on the website. The hosts had a nice mini-guide that answered all the questions around recycling/using the facilities and even had some recommendations on what to do in the area. There was no need to buy anything - all necessary kitchenware was there, dishwasher/washing machine capsules, even some complimentary jam/butter/sweets/beer! Really happy I chose Rowan cottage - amazing quiet area and the view is great. The wifi was a bit slow at times, but otherwise I have zero complains. This was an excellent stay for me :)
• Matthews (10/5): Amazing place - Amazing property, in the perfect location, out of the way with incredible views but only a short drive for things like petrol, shopping, and food. Used it as a base to see many of the sights and hikes around Skye. I will say the attention to detail was top-notch. Everything was thought about, and very high quality. Would defo stay again and recommend it to anyone.

• Razvan (10/5): One of the best places we ever rented - Perfect location in the middle of Skye, 30 to 60 minutes away from all the important places. The cottage is stunning. Everything is new, modern, spotless, elegant and very tastefully made. The hosts were friendly and we really liked the attention to details (tulips, room perfume, a few snacks, wood for the fireplace). You have everything you could need in terms of facilities. We stayed for almost a week and felt like home. It's the perfect place to stay and relax. You can enjoy the stunning views of the loch during the day, maybe you are lucky and see a few deer. Later you can look at stars from the bed or maybe from the living room, while you listen to the fire crackling in the fireplace. Sounds magical? It really is! Why are you reading this? Just book it before someone else will. The place is perfect.
• Linda (10/5): So hard to write one sentence as it doesn’t do justice to this gorgeous property. - We didn’t just like - we Loved everything! Attention to detail was amazing - as was all the extras we didn’t expect (like real flowers, the welcome basket, coffee capsules, jams, laundry capsules, extra towels, robes and slippers). Whilst the pictures on the site are excellent, they still do not do the property full justice. The property was immaculate, modern, spacious and perfectly located for branching out to all key attractions- we are so glad we chose this property as it was as much of a highlight staying here and waking up to a stunning view every morning (with a simple click of a button for the remote control blind) as it was visiting the beautiful surroundings. The owner was prompt in responses to all communications and checked in on us to make sure we were comfortable/if there was anything else they could do for us. I have not always left detailed reviews for stays but this property is an absolute standout! Question is not relevant as there was nothing Not to like!
