David Laurence (7/5): - The bed was very comfy, the room space was fair. Found a botle lid betwen the bed and the side table, another one in the toilet cabin, broken elements of shawer head on the floor the sink weren't clean and the lid was block, i couldn't open.
James (6/5): GNR Stopover - We stayed here as a budget option for participating in recent Great North Run. Given reviews lately, I was a little worried. Yes, we had an issue getting in. Jay was on hand via ring go and sorted it pronto. Our room wasn't quite ready as caretaker had taken ill and needed a hospital visit. But he was back on duty later and sorted everything. Sheets and towels were fresh out laundry and smelled amazing. We booked the family room, and it was spacious and pleasant. Couldn't find ordinary tv, but there was a channel that allowed you to link your devices, and you could log into netflix or Prime, so we had a lovely netflix night. It could have been a bit cleaner and fresher but absolutely acceptable. Didnt use communal area but had a nosey and they looked fine. There is lots of potential to spruce it up and raise its star level. Is it 5 star no. Did I pay 5 star prices? Also, no. Good eating options in the village. Coletto lounge also provides plenty gluten-free, a requirement for us. As said, maybe a bit cleaner was a bit creaky, but it's an old house, that has the potential to be great, especially outside areas, with a bit tlc could be magic
John (2/5): Disappointed - Location was pretty good. Getting into the property was easy The situation with the cleaner was ridiculous. I didn't get my room until around 7:30pm. The room was left dirty with used dishes and a disgusting bathroom until way after check in.
Sandie (7/5): I didn’t use the kitchen or lounge area as I ate at the nearby Weatherspoons and left very early to help my family move - Location was central and close to places to eat and shop There’s an unmarked downward step at the entrance that I didn’t see and missed. Ow! No hand towels and no bath towels so couldn’t have a shower or dry hands and face. Only saw a notice saying you could request ADDITIONAL towels etc. moments before I left early the next morning. So presumably towels are intended to be provided. Light bulb in bedside lamp next to double in room 2 needed replacing. Made do with my torch to find my way to bed once I’d switched main light off.

Of note, due to train strikes 2 of our trains were canceled or skipped the Cramlington stops so keep an eye on that if you make any appointments that rely on public transport.
Michael (9/5): enjoyable - Did not have breakfast. Location was good. Room key was not in lock box when I arrived. Staff did not answer doorbell when rung. My room had no towels. Might be because I took key from room door when arriving early.

We did get internet channels like Netflix for a while but then the internet stopped working about 9.30pm. No milk or coffee in our room but did have kettle cups tea and sugar. We had our own so not the end of the world. Check in info was unclear but lovely local manager sorted us out.

I will not stay at this propert again which - The location of the property is ideal for pubs and eating places. The property is very dirty, the room had not been cleaned since the last person had stayed, the toilet was in a disgusting state and there wasn’t any toilet paper, there was bits of food on the floor near the beds. The T.V had no reception the kettle and cups were not clean. I tried on three occasions to contact the owners but was unsuccessful.

Cheryl (4/5): Great base if your happy with youth hostel feel. - The location was fantastic. Really close to the town centre and train station. TV was good and appreciated it being a smart tv. The shower had good pressure and was hot. The staff were friendly. I wish I had more nice things to say but unfortunately there is much that needs work on. Unfortunately, it's not my favourite stay. No towels in my room (staff resolved promptly) I can only really describe this hotel as a youth hostel or student digs. The details were missing, no small bin in the room, no hand wash, carpet desperately needs replacing. But the most important thing is the double bed needs throwing out and replacing. Not only was the mattress thin and poor, but I could feel the base. I ended up having to sleep on the single bed in my room. (Room 2) The shared kitchen felt dirty and sticky, no washing up liquid, or tea towels (not something you expect to have to bring to a hotel stay) bin was never emptied during my 3 days. Plus, woken up at 1am by the fire alarm, clearly not the first time. Welcome details need improving and actually include the WiFi details. I did feel a little unsafe with how flimsy the door felt when locked. I wish it was a stronger lock. I can't say that I would rush back to stay. However, if more improvements were made, I would consider it. The current mattress would be a no-go.

The shared lounge and kitchen facilities were very good Ensuite was a good size Room was not ready upon arrival with bedding, towels and rubbish still there from previous occupant. Was given a similar room at back of the property which didn't have as much storage for my clothes and the view wasn't as good either. Apparently the cleaning staff had recently been let go and so the housekeeping responsibilities had landed elsewhere. Staff were not onsite to properly deal wit h the situation. However I found Joseph was readily available by phone and in fairness He did quickly get someone to assist and try and address some concerns, such as providing me with the new WiFi code. This person happened to be Lily who was the partner of one of the staff and in fairness She kindly did what She could to help. I would go back but only if improvements were made to the overall customer care...

Could be a great place to stay if staff cared but as it is, it's not properly cleaned or maintained Room not cleaned - cups were dirty, bathroom not cleaned, bin full of previous guest’s waste, no toiletries left No toilet roll. Had to go find someone to ask. The staff member on site seems to have no sense of urgency or responsibility “I’m just the manager here”, “you’re complaining to me about somebody else” Shower attachment broken. The manager offered to change room but then disappeared. There were no rooms cleaned/ready so it meant a wait. An off-site manager phoned to apologise. There’s a large shared kitchen but the bins are overflowing, seems like clearing (or even bin emptying) is a rare occurrence. They were overflowing when I arrived and were still overflowing when I left. When I returned in the evening I met a guest who had just checked in and was trying to find a staff member because he hadn’t been left any towels. It’s a pity because it’s a decent location, a nice old building and could be a great place to stay if the staff cared more about guest experience. The listing on booking.com makes it look like there is a private kitched/dining area - there isn't, it's shared. There is a kettle in the room but no fridge. Onsite manager claims this is down to a "scam" by booking.com. Whatever - don't book a more expensive tier hoping for a kitchen. There is a wifi signal but the password displayed around the building seems not to be the current one. I used phone data. TV in first toom had all terrestrial channels. In second room there was a firestick but no internet connection and no terrestrial channels to tv is currently purely ornamental.
Jessica (1/5): Bad - I had an absolutely appalling experience at this property. I arrived early in the morning due to work commitments, checking in around 3am, only to find the room in a completely unacceptable state. The bed had clearly been slept in. It was covered in crumbs, stains, pubic hairs, and what appeared to be snot on the bedding. The floor looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed in weeks, and the entire room was filthy. Even the towels were dirty — I attempted to use one as a makeshift cover, only to find they were also stained. To make matters worse, the window wouldn’t close, and despite trying to contact someone for help, no one answered the customer service number. I even rang the Ring doorbell downstairs multiple times, again with no response. I was effectively left alone in this disgusting room in the middle of the night, with no support. Eventually, around 4:15am, a staff member showed up. Instead of offering any assistance or an apology, he insisted that the bedding was not dirty — despite it very clearly being filthy. I showed him the condition (with photos for proof), and asked for clean bedding or another room. He told me that they had no spare bedding and the hotel was fully booked, so there was nothing they could do. This level of cleanliness and lack of basic service is absolutely unacceptable. I expect a full refund and appropriate action to be taken to ensure that no other guests have to go through this again This is completely unacceptable. I expect a full refund from the property. If I do not hear back from you, I will escalate this further with Booking.com, and take additional steps if needed. The condition of the room was so poor that I would’ve been better off sleeping in my car.

On arrival, code for room key provided in communication didn’t work. Telephone number provided didn’t work. Wi-Fi password provided didn’t work - I found at end of stay that it had been changed but there was nothing to advise this. Stair and room carpet was not vacuumed well. A cake of soap from previous guest was left on floor of shower.

The blinds didn’t fit the windows properly so let in lots of light very early in the morning. The shower area was dirty. When we arrived there was toilet paper in the pan with only 2 sheets of paper left on the roll, thankfully we did find a new one. No sockets next to the beds where there were bedside cabinets.

Zara (6/5): Pleasant stay. - There was everything you needed for a short stay. The property was mostly clean. The kitchen area could do with some tlc but that may be down to guests. It's in a great location with local shops, pubs and restaurants all in walking distance. Room 2 is a little noisy with people coming up and down the stairs but that can't be helped.

Could hear couple talking in next room on 1st evening. Expected hair dryer for price. No WiFi details on info sheet on wall but found it elsewhere. Dodgy TV reception. Shampoo provided when requested. Ran out of milk for hot drinks. I figured out how to turn heating off eventually but instructions would have helped. Glad to have been met as would have struggled with outdoor security pad. Mainly easily sorted minor niggles.

Julia (2/5): - I stayed at Quarrie House once before in the main house and it was great. This time I booked 3 nights for me and my son and was assigned room 11. I checked in late at night and first off couldn’t find the room because it was outside separate to the main house off the back car park. There was no light so I was in the dark trying to access the room. The room was absolutely disgusting. The bathroom door was hanging off the hinges, neither of the two beds had been cleaned. Both had clearly been slept in with hairs and dirt all on the inside. The walls were yellow and damp, the skirting boards were crumbling. Couldn’t have been much worse. The bathroom was gross. The toilet seat covered in hair and debris from being used. The absolute last straw was when my son asked what was on the mirror (on the floor leaning against the wall) and all Incan guess was that it was body fluid. Absolutely disgusting. I tried to call the out of hours number to ask for a room change. No answer. Left message. Texted. No response. I decided to leave and at 10:30pm had to find another place to stay with my son. I emailed the company. No response. They took my money and I can’t reach anyone. The shame of it all is that my first visit in the main house last year was great. All I needed was a room change but there is no one on site and no one answering the out of hours number. I have still had no response. Lormor (7/5): Pleasant for the price - Reasonable price I was advised my door key no 2 would be in lock box 2. I was given the code for the lock box. On arrival the code was already merged mess I no the lock box was open and key no 8 was in the box. I check box no 8 and key no 2 was in that box. Again, the code for this box was already entered meaning the box was open. There was mould in the room.
Clare (4/5): Disappointing - Closeness to the airport The place was very shabby, really needed renovation. The room looked as if it had had a livk of paint recently but there were quite large paint splats on the furniture, as if they hadn't taken much care in doing so. Double bed was up against the wall. Arrived in the dark and wasn't lit up well. Carpark around the back was very dark, ours was the only car, didn't feel safe.

Joanne (8/5): - Property itself inside was clean and tidy - this property is obviously a work in progress and would love and visit again in say 6 months to see how far things have progressed.. rooms themselves are immaculate and definitely underpriced.. do need to look at the entry system for the property as front was not working and the back was erratic.. overall though was very impressed at the facilites on offer and location is superb..

Stephen (3/5): Nice venue , lovely village, but disappointing accommodation - The shower doors were not fixed properly and completely loose at the bottom. The shower rail itself was loose and not adjustable. The bed was very low and the mattress was very thin, generally uncomfortable. The carpet was rucked and poorly fitted.
Rebecca (10/5): Exceptional - Clean comfortable room and en suite. Very comfortable bed. Great location. I struggled to find where the place was at the front door to put the code in. But after ringing the doorbell a very helpful person explained. I would have struggled without my phone torch though.

Fiona (6/5): Door lock issues spoilt it. - The room was fine and the lounge area was a bonus. We couldn’t get the front door keypad to work so couldn’t get in! There was no reply to the door bell despite their being a noticed in the door to ring it if you were having problems. The owner did their best to help us and we had to use a different door in the end. This should never have been an issue in the first place though. She was telling us that it sometimes doesn’t work if your fingers are cold. What?! If this is the case it’s not fit for purpose and should be changed. We managed to get in late in the evening but had wanted to get in at 2pm and get changed. Wouldn’t stay here again.
Jane (6/5): Lovely place, well equipped but a little noisy. - Pleasant location, within easy walk of supermarkets, restaurants and take aways. The communal kitchen was well equipped and had space for heating food and eating meals. The bedroom was newly decorated and clean. Bathroom shower was excellent. It was cold, the heating was inadequate. It was also noisy. Walls are thin and you can hear people walking along the corridor because the floor creaks.
Linda (10/5): Lovely place !! - Lovely place. Fab location for me. My room was lovely altho small. Fab shower! Fab kitchen and lovely entrance. Really nice all round. Nothing. Just wished it had been slightly bigger. Was very warm!

Andrea (7/5): Good - Great location and great idea for managing accommodation No central heating available or directed to by staff , unfortunately it was freezing the night I stayed so wasn’t very comfortable for me to sleep
