- Sonia (8/5): - Las camas son comodisimas y la ubicación muy buena .
- Veronique (6/5): - La localisation en centre ville est bonne L’ensemble est très vieillot et pas très propre … c’est fonctionnel mais sans charme.
- Jenny (10/5): -
- David (7/5): - The property was ad advertised and convenient to Eyre Square and the medieval centre of Galway. The property was clean and dry, and the bed was comfortable. Very good value for money. The photo on the website is not of this property
- Peter (6/5): - Fantastic location but a bit rundown it needs a table and chairs. There are only two small couches in the downstairs rooms the kitchen tap did not turn off properly. It was good for a couple days.
- Saverio Vecchia (8/5): - Clear message that lead us to get the keys
- Elena (2/5): - zentrale Lage. Die Unterkunft ist insgesamt besonders in den Schlafzimmern sehr dreckig (siehe Beispielfotos ). Das Foto entspricht nicht dem wirklichen Gebäude.
- Laura (8/5): Comfortable, cosy and very central - I loved the location it was perfect for what we were there for and i would use thsi property again and recommend it to others,
Thank you for a lovely stay .
- Clara (10/5): Get what you pay you pay for and more! 🩷 - Yes pictures are misleading but absolute 10/10 on location, small dander to Eyre square and loads of lovely pubs a 3 minute walk from the house.
2 bedrooms upstairs and a kitchen area and a sitting room area. Cannot complain had such a pleasant stay
Included images of downstairs forgot to take pictures of the rooms
2 double beds comfy enough sleep and out of city a bit so couldn’t hear loads of traffic
- Joe (7/5): Good -
- Steven (9/5): Superb -
- Amy (5/5): Central but was very basic and nothing like the pictures advertised. - Was very central to the city Doesn’t look like the picture I’d say was student accommodation
- Michael (2/5): Very poor -
- Diana (3/5): Poor - Location great. Size Good. Carpets and walls were filthy dirty.
- Donoghue (7/5): I got what I paid for, good location and good value - Good value for money. Great location. Photos on booking.com were misleading
- Trevor (6/5): Pleasant - Good location and great value for Galway city
- Debbie (2/5): Very poor - Location No teaspoons or tea towel. Toaster doesnt work, kitchen tap doesnt work. Not an electricity socket close by in the bedroom. Lock on front door is loose. Toilet being downstairs is a pain also
- Anonymous (7/5): I contacted the host about wifi and they never got back to me about why it wasnt working - No wifi
- Catherine (1/5): Bad - I would not recommend this accommodation. The place was absolutely disgusting. There was a smell of dampness when we walked in the door. They're was rubbish bins left full of rubbish. The bathroom floor was dirty and had dirty used towels on the bathroom floor. Upstairs he beds obviously weren't changed since the last guests.
We left after 10minutes and checked into a hotel nearby.
- Albert (8/5): Great price/quality and right in the center if Galway close to a bunch of pubs - The entrance is just saying the corner, so that took us a second to figure out :-) The toilet seat was broken, but the host repaired it within a day.
- Anonymous (2/5): I would absolutely not recommend this property. - The location was literally the only good thing about this property. Quite literally fell into the toilet when first got there because the toilet seat was completely broken off. The whole house smelled of must and mold. It was filthy and dusty everywhere. There was one toilet paper roll for all of us. Property is not the same property as in the pictures. There was no remote for the tv. The wifi did not work. Might seem small the complaint about but onto of everything there were only two forks, and three spoons, but there were six knives. There was about a teaspoon of instant coffee in the cupboard that was completely hardened to the bottom with mold growing. One bed was ok the other one was rock hard. It is clear the owner of this property either never comes there themselves or has no pride in the property.
- Louise (1/5): Revolting Don’t Book!!! - Location ONLY Photos fraudulent on booking.com. Terrible smell, kitchen unusable, leaking tap. Toilet seat fell off. Place was filthy, we returned late at night and left at 5 am did not shower or eat in there or drink it was SO yuck in there. We have been travelling around UK and Southern Ireland for weeks and this was our worst experience by far. The photos we have taken do not compare to booking.com
- Ella (2/5): It was genuinely and completely terrible. - The only thing that was good was the location First and most importantly THIS HOUSE IS NOT WHAT IS SHOWN IN THE PICTURES. I booked the entire house for a group stay, and it was a complete disappointment from start to finish. The place was dirty upon arrival—dusty surfaces, dead bugs in windows, stained furniture, and moldy walls. Additionally the bath mat was soaking wet when we arrived. We also found the previous guests trash in the cupboards making the property feel neglected and unsanitary. Finally the wifi was broken for the entire stay and the communication with the host was slow and unhelpful when we reported these issues. Overall, the stay was uncomfortable and far below expectations—I would not book this property again.
- Prudence (9/5): If you're not too fussy - It was a sweet little accommodation. Kitchen, lounge room with a sofa, bathroom downstairs and upstairs is two bedrooms. A five minute walk to the Latin Quarter made it a well located place to stay. The beds were very soft and comfortable. There was only one pillow person, I would have liked one more.
Due to the age of the building it was a musty smell.
The furniture was tired and worn.
The internet was not working.
- Anthony (4/5): Road Trip - The location The image of the accommodation on the dashboard is not correct and misleading.
- Sujecka (4/5): Disappointing -
- Anne (7/5): Great location and comfortable. - The location was great. The house was clean and comfortable. The Wi-Fi worked great. We eat out during our stay so can’t comment on the kitchen facilities.
- Hession (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lauren (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely house, perfect for a group or couples. Extremely clean and in a good location.
- Mongan (8/5): Very good -
- Paul (7/5): Good - Nice local house suits two couples . Walking distance to centre .
- Mulroy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kelly (6/5): Pleasant -
- Lotfi (4/5): Disappointing -
- Lee (1/5): Bad - Tldr: Do not stay here – filthy, deceptive, and a biohazard
This place is an absolute disgrace, and Booking.com should be ashamed for listing it. If I could give negative stars, I would. Avoid at all costs.
The property was a kip, there were piles of rubbish bags left near an entrance, mould everywhere, and stains and water damage on the walls, doors, ceilings, carpets, and furniture. The stench of mould was foul. It was clear this place hadn’t been cleaned in months, if ever.
The bed was beyond horrifying. The mattress and bedding were heavily stained with shoe marks, what looked like blood, and other unidentifiable stains. It reeked and was covered in hair. Flipping it didn’t help as the underside was worse. It was unfit for human use, I wouldn’t let a stray dog sleep on it. We had to buy new bedsheets and blankets just to get through the night. One of our guests even had a bad reaction and had to get some antihistamines, likely due to the various types of mould growing there.
The blatant dishonesty of it. The address on Booking.com was misleading, and the listing photo showed a completely different building which was a pub, nearly half a km away. Finding the place was unnecessarily difficult. When we tried to contact the owners for help, they ignored every call, email, and message. Zero accountability.
The biggest insult was the fraudulent photos on Booking.com. The listing showed pristine, well-kept rooms. Completely different from the rundown, filthy dump we actually got. It was so deceptive that I believe they used pictures from a different property altogether.
The location was okay but was very noisy. Between drunk people shouting, banging on our windows, and constant noise, we felt unsafe and barely slept.
This was the worst travel experience of my life. This property should be shut down. Do yourself a favour and avoid it like the plague, unless you want to catch the plague in an unsanitary, misleading, and completely mismanaged disaster of a property
- Muireann (9/5): Superb -
- Hession (8/5): Very good - Very comfortable, nice location It was quite cold
- Aaron (2/5): AVOID. Stinks of Damp, they don't change the bedding, and flies everywhere. Couldn't stay there. - Location Got there the day after a large storm. Like previous reviews place stank of damp on arrival but thought I just need a bed for the night so should be fine. Windows upstairs had been left open and so one of the beds was already soaking wet. The other bed hadn't had it bedding changed (as stated in previous reviews) phoned the number given - they apologised and said that they didnt have a chance to change the bedding because of the storm. However, beds had been made up so someone had been around to tidy the property but didn't change the bedding. Something doesn't add up. Went back downstairs to have a shower to have about 20 blue bottles crawling over the window. Final straw, called my mate and kipped in theirs. AVOID.
- Jordan (1/5): Not as advertised! - It was not as advertised. Live bluebottle flies in the house when we arrived. Smelt of smoke and damp and stains on the carpets and bed. Not comfortable, not as pictures demonstrate and not cosy.
- Noel (7/5): Good -
- Murphy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peters (1/5): Dirty stained sheets unclean unit and foul owner - nothing the place was a mess from previouse guests , beds un made used with stains.
Rubbish everywhere stains on walls and gouges un treated or cleaned dirty walls , dirty shower. Un responsive owner that after 15 calls to answer explained the issue and got abusive because i was irate after he provided no solution as my missus and her daughter couldnt stay there due to the degree of mess and was an xmas gift for girls night out "mother daughter" that i booked left her with no option but to find other accomodation and costly in galway last minute on top his costs , as it wasnt habitable for new guests.owner is being reported to council about the state of the place and further action will be taken. aswell as damages and cost of alternate stay. DO NOT RECOMEND, unless your into a drug den Everything
- Dave (7/5): woodquay property - Clean & comfortable.
Good value for money. It would have been better if the picture on the site actually matched the property!
Better directions- ie on the corner opposite the carpark.
No DSL connection - so no internet connection.
No TV remote .
Downstairs radiators did not work although electric heater in lounge was good.
Shower doors did not shut fully at bottom so floor got very wet
- Cian (8/5): Very good - Great location. Super easy check-in. A gem
In the heart of the city.
- Deirdre (8/5): Very good - Location is excellent. Close to everything. A little dated. But clean and perfect for a weekend.
- Jamie (1/5): It was a terrible place, I didn't stay here it was disgusting. - Nothing, it wasn't what I expected. There was no door on 1 of the bedrooms, no pillows in that room either, the other room had been slept in and was left undressed. There were used towels in the bathroom as well. I meant to take photo's but I couldn't get out of there quick enough, Booked and stayed somewhere else. I want my money back for this.
- Jennifer (5/5): Fine for what we needed, but unpleasant smell of mould. - The location was great and the price was the best we found in Galway for having separate bedrooms. We were only staying for one night and it was very handy for getting to the place we needed to be in the morning. There was a strong smell of mould when we opened the front door. The bedrooms were clean and mould-free although one of them didn't have a door. We discovered visible mould on the door of the cupboard that held the water tank in the sitting room.
- Gareth (8/5): Very good -
- Kate (1/5): Worst place ever - The only good thing I can say is the location is great. It is the most filthy and unhygienic place I have ever had the misfortune to stay in. Starting downstairs - the bathroom had not been cleaned and the sanitary bin was jammed full of used sanitary products. If that's not enough let's move to the kitchen where a tub of food was left in the microwave and a bag of rubbish (with old food visible in it) in one of the cupboards. The gap between cooker and cupboard was disgustingly dirty and rubbish was visible in it. Needless to say I did not avail of any of the cooking facilities. I can only imagine that there's only no rats present because they've died from the filth. The living room had dirt, dust and hair in the corners along with a half dissolved sweet just under the edge of the couch and an earring. Moving upstairs - no hallway light and one bedroom has no door! Plus to add to it all upstairs has probably not seen a hoover in years and there were shards of broken glass in one bedroom carpet. The electrical socket behind one bed is about ready to fall off the wall.
Oh and the WiFi?? It has no Internet connection so is utterly pointless.
Finally, I'm pretty sure none of the photos on the website are actually of the property.
DO NOT STAY HERE.
- Yongyut (1/5): Uncomfortable - Close to town facilities river walk Very poor heat
Smell of damp
Dirty
Internet one of the many things not working property us not complying to a regulation for safe like no smoke alarm no heath detector etc
Bedroom door unable to close or lock
- Niamh (1/5): Shabby, dusty, missing door, pictures of a different house - PICTURES ARE OF A DIFFERENT PLACE. The pictures provided are of a completely different house and location. The actual accommodation is run down and shabby. One of the bedrooms does not have a door. There was a lot of dust, cobwebs in the kitchen and bathroom, no heating downstairs besides an electric heater for the sitting room. The WiFi did not work.
- Fi (1/5): The pictures advertised for this property are not the actual property - Location The pictures advertised for this property are from a different property.
Beware if you book this property you are not going to get the bedrooms or the bathroom that is advertised in the pictures, it is extremely misleading and very disappointing. It's blatant false advertising, people are being conned here.
We did not stay the night we left after two hours as my children did not feel comfortable in the house as it was not the house they thought they were staying in so they were not able to settle. There is an extremely musty smell as well in the house.
I have lodged a complaint with the owner and with Booking.com. I expect to get a full refund because this is advertised as a house and you should get exactly what you see in the picture.
This is not a hotel where you can get placed in a different room. A costly day trip to Galway from Navan.
- Aine (1/5): Overpriced dosshouse - Although the location was very good, the address given was confusing as the actual entrance door to access the property is not on St Vincents Ave, but around the corner on another street. The photograph on Booking.com is NOT of the property at all. It is in fact a badly maintained small terrace house. The house was noisy and smelt of damp and mould as soon as you walked in. It hadn't been cleaned - the bin was full, the bathroom had used damp towels hanging in it, the beds had been slept in and not made. The entrance doors did not feel secure. There was no door on one of the bedrooms. There were clothes left in the sitting room. It felt like walking into someone's student house from the early 90's. When I complained to the property owner and said it was not as advertised and that we couldn't stay, he assured me that he would refund us. This has not happened despite numerous emails back and forth with Booking.com. this is on no way worth the money they are charging and the deceit in the advertising is disgusting.
- Kristina (1/5): Terrible customer service - Tried for months to reach them to reschedule my trip and they never returned my messages (and booking .com did not help to resolve this matter)
- Nora (4/5): Low expectations were met, however door did not lock, so our stay felt unsafe. - Location, beds/rooms, windows HOUSE DID NOT LOCK (open upon arrival and couldn't get it to lock), felt unsafe. There was no door on upstairs room, sink dripped, shower didn't work (or was very unclear how to operate), could've been a little cleaner.
- Aldous (4/5): Not pleasant - The location was good I was severely disappointed by this property. As stated by many other people the pictures provided on their page are NOT accurate. Outside doesn’t look appealing. Interior is dated and basic. Bathroom shower leaks out onto the floor. Sofa was rock hard. Plug sockets hanging out of walls. Gas fire downstairs barely provided any heat (we were lucky that the radiators began to heat up in the evening). Little to no privacy on the property due to lack of blinds and see through curtains. Also smelled really badly if damp and some cupboards had mould in them due to this. These pictures displayed must be extremely old and this is a shame. I didn’t feel very safe on the property and would not of stayed here if I hadn’t already paid the money to!
- Krishna (5/5): Passable -
- Dennis (6/5): Set your expectations - The location. It has a washer/ dryer; it takes about 2 hours for a wash and 3ish hours for a dry. The downstairs is musty. It seems that it was flooded at some point. The towels didn't dry. There was an electric heater downstairs that drove off the damp in the living room.
The kitchen sink dripped on the cold side, there was a non-obvious, at least to us Americans, cord that had to be pulled to divert water to the shower. There was no soap or shampoo in the shower.
- Jessica (6/5): Pleasant -
- Orla (5/5): Passable - It was OK for value in Galway It's not the picture that you are advertising, miss leading !!! It's a very dated house with 2 bedrooms upstairs both beds pushed up against the walls, bathroom downstairs through sittingroom & through kitchen to the back of property with exposed windows that look onto a busy street you better have pj's or dressing gown on!!
- Luke (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mary (10/5): We enjoyed it very much & will book again. - So close to all facilities.
- Marc (6/5): Pleasant - Location was perfect Bad smell and very basic
- Denise (1/5): The property photos do not match reality. The posted photos must be of another property. - The location was the only thing that was good about this property. The property wasn’t clean upon arrival. It took several hours to rectify the situation. The property manager was difficult to contact. We never did get heat and the WiFi is not connected to internet
- Elena (5/5): Not pleasant - location Is top house was not cleaned at all ( even bed sheets) and it smelled pretty strong. WiFi didn't work for the whole stay. pictures are not matching with the property we saw on booking. I wouldn't recommend it, especially to the families to be honest.
- Carol (10/5): Exceptional - Very central location
- David (5/5): Be great if it had been cleaned. - Location was great for the price but there was a few other shortcomings. Bed s hadn’t been made up/ sheets changed. Toaster didn’t work. Bins hadn’t been emptied, bathmats were wet. I just slept in one and the next day she turned up and made some glib excuse about no key and can I change the sheets now. I said no I’ve already slept in it now. Left them a few dishes to wash as my compensation.
- Yvan (7/5): Good - Cosy , small House , an very near to the center Smell of humidity when you come in
- Louise (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent location, all necessary amenities and left super clean for our arrival
- Susan (7/5): Very handy a - Convenient location. Easy late check in ( 4 am!). Comfy beds . Clean . Good shower and hot water. Musty smell. Shabby decor. No toilet paper , soap, shower gel. WiFi not connected to internet. Couldn’t turn off tap. Missing bedroom door.
- Daithí (7/5): Good -
- Sarah (10/5): Handy location and comfortable stay in Galway City - Location, comfortable accomodation and spacious for two people.
- Anne-marie (5/5): Passable -
- Jeff (5/5): Passable - Good location Not as pictures , no door on one of the bedrooms
- Laoise (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christopher (7/5): It's a good place to stay. It's an Airbnb. Unfortunately, we had a bad experience with the cleaning. - It's a pretty well located small house. The price is a good deal for two rooms. We were disappointed to arrive at the property after 6PM and the cleaning hasn't been made. We had to wait for almost an extra hour for the cleaning staff to arrive and clean the property and make the beds. Erick explained to us that it was because the assigned cleaner reported sick that day. But they should be able to manage these kinds of problems before the official check-in time.
- Padraig (10/5): Perfect location -near everything -very enjoyable - Brilliant location-comfy beds-absolutely ideal for my stay with my daughter. I will stay again when in Galway if available. Parking nearby but I opted to pay the daily rate of 6.50 to park at Cathedral just a few minutes away. Great nights sleep. I was very happy with every aspect of the stay.
- Alana (10/5): Lovely place great location easy check in and out - Great location
- Joseph (8/5): Very good -
