Merci a eux .
Allez y les yeux fermés. Rien.

- Sanja (10/5): - Wonderful experience in Sidemen! The accommodation is very clean, with large and comfortable rooms, and the air conditioning works perfectly. The bathroom is beautiful and well-equipped. The view of the volcano is truly magical. The staff are extremely friendly and always ready to help. The breakfast is delicious, and the location is peaceful while still close to great restaurants. I would happily come back!
- Chonnathon (10/5): Absolutely unforgettable - Here is pure peace. Waking up to the view of Mount Agung, with nothing but the sound of nature around… it feels like a different world.
The atmosphere is calm, slow, and deeply relaxing - exactly what you come to Sidemen for. Everything about this place just lets you disconnect and truly enjoy the moment.
If you’re looking for a quiet, beautiful escape away from the crowds, this is it. Would come back in a heartbeat.
- Klaudia (10/5): - The room is great, the view is amazing and the owner is VERY nice and helpful! The breakfast is simple but very tasty. Not enough privacy. Rooms are close and should be better separated.
- Marie (10/5): -

- Anna (10/5): -
Alles is eigenlijk in orde.
- Liam (6/5): - Quietness of location Owner needed to be more proactive and communicate better about things like breakfast - whether it was going to be made or not.
- xiaoyuan (10/5): We will come back again - You can see the Agung when there is no cloud, the location is very good,we enjoyed the mountain view and the local village, we had a wonderful new year in babakan.
- Natalie (10/5): Perfect stay in tranquil place - Everything was great. Incredible views, great room, lovely staff, great location and nice breakfast. Highly recommend
- Jordi (10/5): Heerlijk - Het uitzicht is echt fenomenaal.

- Ajay (7/5): With easy improvements, can be one of Sidemen's best stays - This small B&B is run by a very helpful father & son team. They try their best to respond to any requests from guests. Water temperature for showers is good throughout the day. Wifi also works, and the room is quite large, and has comfy beds. The views of Mount Agung are stunning. With very simple renovations, that can be done in one day, the place can be excellent.
a) Install simple wall shelves in the bedroom, so guests have more places to store their things. Right now, there's not enough space.
b) Ditto for the bathroom, place more hooks and shelves to make guests' bathing experience easier. Replace any mouldy chair cushions on the balcony - actually, they are not needed, and just the wooden chairs is fine for most guests.
For breakfast, suggest getting a specialised cook as even simple dishes like nasi goreng should be done well.
Overall, Babakan is still a very peaceful stay, and excellent value for money in Sidemen.
- Sonia (8/5): -
- Joel (10/5): -
- Kenneth (10/5): - Fantastic location. Fantastic staff. Fantastic accomodations. Can't wait to go back!
- Guido (10/5): Best in all Bali !!!!!! - Realy everything !!!!!!!
The: staff, location/vieuws, breakfast, service, beds, shower, ac...scooters!! NOTHING!!
- Mathieu (10/5): Superbe - Emplacement, confort, beauté de l’environnement
- Sid (10/5): Beautiful stay overlooking the rice fields! - Beautiful hotel in the rice fields in Sidemen, we really loved staying here. The room was clean and furnished nicely. We loved waking up every morning and having breakfast on our patio overlooking the rice field. Very close to restaurants and shopping in Sidemen as well so the location was also convenient. The owner helped us book our taxi for our next location as well! N/A
- Robert (10/5): Still a great place but needs a refresh - Just awesome place to stay in Sideman Having stayed here a few times, it’s starting to look and feel “tired”. Bathroom needs re grouting, and chipped tiles on the bedroom floor really need changing after this amount of time.
- Robert (9/5): Great place to stay - Love staying here as have done so previously Looking a bit tired. Bathroom needs re grouting, and the chipped tiles on bedroom floor still need replacing.
- Foster (9/5): Clean, great location, friendly staff. - 1. Very clean and the room was very spacious
2. Great location in Sidemen, walkable to what we needed to get to and good taxi/ transport nearby. Felt very safe for couples or single travellers. Perfect for a short 2 day stay.
3. Welcoming host who made delicious breakfast included in the price.
- David (9/5): Definitely the best 3 nights of my 14 stay in Bali. Clean rooms, great staff. - The staff are friendly and there was enough information provided about things to do in the area and the prices. The rooms were cleaned every day of my stay. The rooms have an amazing view of Mount Agung. For me, there was nothing to dislike.
- Carrie (10/5): - Gorgeous accommodation, very clean and spacious, with the most amazing views from the room & a lovely breakfast each morning!
Everyone was so friendly and helpful. We booked a cooking class, rice paddy trek, and scooter rental through the accommodation. All were very reasonably priced, and everyone was always happy to help! Location was good too, quiet and peaceful but very close to lots of tasty warungs, spas, a few shops also. Perfect place to relax and reset for a few days, we would love to stay here again! :)
- Klári (10/5): - The view, the cleanliness of the room, and the very frendly staff:) The bed was a little bit hard for me, but thats all.
- Vasco (9/5): -
- Stuart (7/5): Good value, nice staff, great location. Simple. - Pet friendly, and the staff were so responsive. Breakfast & coffee could be a little better. Juices were not tasted at all.
- Rajesh (10/5): Amazing stay at Babakan - Family trip. This is the most amazing place in Sideman with ninterrupted views of Mount Agung and rice fields, breathtaking, out of this world, calm and peaceful.
This is a small family run place, Gede and his family run this place and were amazing and were super helpful!
Well located for shops and restaurants, rooms were spacious and the breakfast was amazing. Nothing
- Marelle (8/5): Beautiful Sidemen - Beautiful view from the bungalow, sunrise over rice fields, and Mt Agung. Walking distance to rice terraces, local market, Warungs. So peaceful. Nice thick towels and comfortable mattress. Staff are so kind and helpful. Only 1 chair in room, nothing to put suitcases on, no safety box. No decorations in the room. ,
- Mitchell (10/5): Sidemen bliss - We have been to Sidemen 3 times and this is by far our favorite place. We will without a doubt be staying here when we come back! Surrounded by beautiful flowers and birds chirping. Super comfy room. We had the best nights sleep we have had in Bali. We loved everything
- Klein Poelhuis (9/5): Hele fijne plek! - Prachtige kamer, moderne badkamer, heerlijk ontbijt met uitzicht Niets
- Sally (10/5): - Very clean and peaceful.
- Chloe (10/5): Exceptional - Gorgeous view over the rice fields - and great people watching spot. View of Mount agung if you get lucky with the weather. Good breakfast served on the balcony with said view. Accommodation able to organise activities and card payment is available. Great restaurants just a 1 minute walk round the corner. Room was spotlessly clean, hot powerful shower, 2 pillows each, comfy bed. Host was very friendly. The only small issue was that the room isn’t fully sealed - there are openings. So bugs can easily get in. Didn’t see many mosquitoes though so not a huge issue
- Lauren (10/5): Relaxing retreat in Sideman! - Beautiful view and amazing room! The owner and all staff were so so friendly and helpful. They gave us good recommendations and organized all transportation for us. Sideman is a quiet town for sure but was amazing to get away from the business of Ubud. Great for a couple day trip.
- Julia (10/5): Exceptional - We really loved the ricefield walk that is offered by the accomodation. It's with a very friendly young local guide. He explained a lot and we saw beautiful ricefield.
Also the breakfast options at Babakan were great and the view is stunning.
- Alicia (9/5): Superb -
- Brown (10/5): Extraordinary - Babakan is spectacular! Everything from the view, the kindness of the hosts, to the exceptional level of cleanliness at the villa. This was my favorite place that I stayed during my three weeks traveling through Bali. The hosts work tirelessly from before sunrise to well after sundown to make the stay at this villa extraordinary. The daily cleaning of the villa and patio area was immaculate. The shower had the perfect hot water, the bedding was crisp and clean white linens, and the view was extraordinary!
- Benjamin (9/5): Superb tranquility. - The host was very accessible and the breakfast on the verandah was spectacular. Nothing
- Chuanlun (8/5): Very good -
- Brooke (10/5): Great stay with amazing views - Amazing views straight from your room, local places to eat, shops, silver workshops and massage all within a couple of minutes walk. The rooms were spotless and breakfast is served right on your terrace. We contacted the hotel before arriving and they were so helpful, they picked us up from Ubud, arranged our silver making workshop, our ferry over to Gili Air and took us to the pier 10 out of 10 is not enough for the service we received. Would 100% recommend
- Shweta.m (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent location, amazing view, very quiet and nice for sleeping. Nice breakfast, huge room size, huge beds. Good Aircon and fan.
- Delvaux (10/5): Exceptional - The view from the room is absolutely insane.
The rooms are big and bright. Bed super comfy. And people there are helpful and super nice ! One suggestion would be to add some plants or a bamboo fence on the terrace to create more privacy between the rooms.
- Rachel (10/5): Heaven on earth, I’ll be back - This place is paradise. I spent 7 nights here and didn't want to leave.
Waking up in one of the most comfortable beds l've ever slept in, to the view of Mt Agung looming over the rice fields and tropical scenery, was incredible.
Then having a delicious breakfast delivered to my porch was heaven. All breakfast choices were amazing but the banana pancakes were out of this world. Shout out to master cook Nengah.
These rooms, and grounds, are kept meticulously clean, with bed change every day if you want! Even my A/C was serviced while I was there.
I organised a 5 course Balinese cooking course through the accommodation, at Warung Deva, with Aunty Wayan, which was a great experience. I’m looking forward to trying out my new skills when I get home.
l also organised a rice fields trek through them, which was also an amazing experience. My brilliant guide, Kadak, first took me to the local morning markets where the locals buy their produce for the day. I got to try some of the local fruits and treats, and bought some Balinese cooking knives which are the best and somehow stay sharp forever! We walked through back streets, past schools and temples, to the stunning fields. Along the way we were met with a local man who has a stall with fresh coconut and peanuts for the trekkers. You can sit and sip your coconut milk whilst listening to him play musical instruments- heaven! Kadak has very good English skills, which everyone does, so we had great communication, with him giving constant information about local culture.
Gede, the wonderful host of this family run accommodation, couldn't have been more helpful or accommodating, available at all hours if needed. His constant smile was a highlight of my day.
Gede organised a driver for the day for me, Komang, who was also very helpful throughout the day. Nothing, it’s heaven on earth.
- Desmond (10/5): Exceptional - Really clean and perfect location
- Niels (8/5): Very sweet place! - Location and view was perfect, also the breakfast was really good. Staff was super friendly. The room was clean! AC gets turned off by cleaning staff. But not a big problem. There is holes above the windows without nets so mosquitoes can get in. Make sure to wear repellent then there is no problem.
- Christoph (10/5): Family owned and run place which makes it even better and also to support the local community. - Great location and absolute great value for money. Views into the rice field and the volcano right from your bed.
- Oumaima (9/5): I found everything I was looking for during my stay at the accomodations , very peaceful place with a beautifu view over - Good location , several Warungs and shops near the accomodations Nothing for me
- Priya (10/5): excellent stay!!! (restaurant suggestion - not so much) - What a view!!!!! Extremely neat and tidy place, such attention to growing pretty flowers, keeping the place tip top and tidy, well lit as well. Beds very comfortable, bathroom spacious and clean, very good water pressure. Gede, our host, was quite friendly and informative. Breakfast on day one, since we requested for it to be on move, was unsatisfactory. Only a pancake and a single banana. That was disappointing. The restaurant Gede dropped us to after our day outing to Pura Besakhi (Nivriti) was very sub par (expensive, food and coffee was bad). It was raining heavily, so we had no choice but to stay on. This doesn't reflect badly on the place, but it was not a pleasant situation to be in at the suggestion of the host.
- Pamela (10/5): Exceptional - the room was very comfortable with a great view of the mountain and the care and food was terrific. nothing was too much trouble for this family to make our stay memorable!!
- Tracy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fury1337 (9/5): Superb - The location of the accommodations was pretty good overall, we had access to everything around us, there were even some silver and various other workshops that you can participate in.
The personnel were warm and welcoming and they helped us with a lot of things including transportation to our next destination.
The view was also amazing again everywhere you looked and the food (breakfast) was also good.
Overall it was a great place to stay in and a recommendation for sure! Outside the place at night it was pretty dark, so I would highly suggest bringing some kind of torchlight to illuminate your way if you decided to go out at night.
- Massimo (10/5): Balinese hospitality at its finest in a great part of the island where you can experience the real Balinese life in my o - Amazing family business. The father keeps the place spotless and the son is an amazing guide. Friendly atmosphere and excellent location to explore the area. I highly recommend renting a bike and enjoying the surroundings
- Szilvia (10/5): It was an amazing experience for us to stay in this accommodation. Amazing view, peaceful atmosphere, comfortable rooms, - The accomodation is located in a really peaceful, quite place, with a beautiful nature view. It’s better to rent a scooter to move around the area. The hosts were amazingly welcoming, friendly and helpful! They were always reachable and helping us with all kinds of questions, requests and program opportunities. Well organized programs(cooking class, silver jewelry making, one day trip). The breakfast was also tasty all mornings! The room/beds were really comfortable and quiet! Only the sound of nature! We loved it all! There were just some small hints which we openly discussed with the host, who was grateful for the ideas and also mentioned that they are planning some extras. Anyway 5* 😉😊
- Ton (10/5): Very nice and cosy place with a magnificent view - Beautiful view , the silence, the space in the room . Good AC and a ceiling fan . I was looking forward to the breakfast in the morning . I had to leave at 7 am by pushbike but the breakfast could only served between 8 am and 10 am .
- Mikkel (10/5): Beautiful place in the middle of the nature - Amazing surroundings, the father and son that runs the place are so nice, and they have figured out the essentials of what people need on a stay in Sidemen.
- Houda (10/5): Exceptional - We loved our room with amazing views on Mount Agung, the calming and relaxing atmosphere, very green every where arround, very welcoming and helpful host. Walking around is possible close to beautiful rice fields, nice restaurants, and café terrasses. We highly recommend this place, and we are grateful for the kindness of our host 🙏 ❤️ 😊 We are now in Ubud and we do miss the magic of Sidemen! We will definitely go back to Sidemen and stay in the Babakkan Accomodation ;)
- Lynne (10/5): Exceptional -
- María (10/5): Clean, beautiful, comfortable and family vibes - Big room, extremely clean and comfortable. Also very silent and quiet at night, slept really good. The views are a dream! Loved the breakfast in the terrace and the lovely service they offer. A beautiful family place I’m happy I had the pleasure to stay in. Thank you!!
- Dina (6/5): Pleasant - The view is amazing that was the most amazing thing Well about the hospitality am not sure as I asked him at night about help because big gako came my room he ignored this message I didn’t like that as it didn’t happen in other places
- Abigail (10/5): A lovely peaceful stay in Sidemen. - We loved our stay here it has been one of our favourite stops in Bali and we extended twice.
The rooms are spacious and clean, the owners and staff are super helpful, we booked a rice paddies walk and taxis through them which was v easy, but the best thing for us was the setting- as it looks out over the rice paddies and with a view of Mount Agung - and it’s so peaceful watching all the little animals and birds in the morning and evening.
You do share a terrace with another room, but they are huge terraces and for most of our stay we had it to ourself as quiet season. Worth noting that the breakfast is quite basic, however for the price point it’s enough and there are many places nearby if you want to roam. In fact it’s a great location right between the tourist part of Sidemen and the more local side so you can easily explore both.
- Albert (10/5): Exceptional - Family owned businesses, incredible views and the friendliest hosts. If you are thinking of coming to Sidemen this is an excellent choice for your accommodation.
- Claire (10/5): amazing room, incredible view, relaxing stay, lovely hosts - special thanks to the friendly and lovely hosts we met - Gede, the dad, and uncle - during our 2 night stay. we booked 2 rooms side by side that opened into lush greenery and mount agung in the distance. rooms were big (great affect on wellbeing, surprisingly).
very clean, no dust even on the ceiling fan and on the floor under the bed (something fell under the bed so i had a look). comfy bed. great sleep.
breakfast is served around 8-9am and brought to your terrace. imagine sipping on coffee with a magnificent view in front of you.
warm water may run out if you take long showers. soap, shampoo provided. no issues with wifi. aircon works in case it gets warm in the day. but with the chilly weather at night there was no need for aircon. hairdryer available.
if you want to hire driver to bring you up to Besakih, you can ask Gede (host) who speaks both indo and english. he will bring there and wait for 1.5h until you are done. he brought us to a restaurant for lunch after - it had an amazing view of rice terraces! and then we swung by a mini mart for magnum ice cream afterwards as the day grew warmer. for dinner, i’d highly recommend Warung Ibu Ida which is 5 minutes walk away. managed by a lovely grandma who makes amazing home cooked dishes. amongst others, get the curry chicken (comes with rice), and u must try her pisang goreng for dessert. the roads to the accommodation can a little windy but of course if you drive slowly and look at the path ahead, you should be fine
- Stephen (10/5): Excellent - Really nice rooms with stunning views of rice fields and lush vegetation. Great staff running it.
- Karen (10/5): Loved our stay. So peaceful and beautiful scenery and the magnificent Mt Agung right in front of us - Great location amongst picturesque rice fields and Mt Agung clearly visible in front of our accommodation (on a clear day). The staff were friendly and smiling. Breakfast on the front terrace of our villa in the mornings was lovely. Close to lots of Warungs, coffee shops and little grocery shops, yet very quiet, peaceful and secluded. The bedroom is very spacious and the bathroom is a good size. A/C very effective for a cool night’s sleep. Room serviced everyday. N/A
- Suzanne (10/5): Tranquil with great views - The property was lovely, in the heart of the village with restaurants all around. You wake up, walk onto your terrace and there is a rice field on your doorstep. Also in the distance is Mt Agung which is a wonderful sight on a clear day. The room is excellent, large, spacious and clean. The bathroom is lovely. Breakfast was included so set me up for the day. Tea and coffee, fridge I. The room. The staff are lovely, they organised a scooter for the day and a taxi for my next destination. Brilliant. Nothing, all good.
- Saoirse (10/5): Perfect peaceful paradise - We absolutely loved our stay here and it’s even more beautiful than the photos! The room was really spacious, clean and comfortable and the WiFi was super fast. The location is perfect - it’s really peaceful while still being a short walk from a lot of warungs and nice restaurants. The staff were lovely and cleaned our room every single day. The breakfast was also delicious with a very good choice of different breakfast dishes. We can’t wait to come back here again!
