- Valéria (10/5): Heaven is a place on hearth! - The hotel is amazing! - Very clean and well maintaned (gardens, pools, beach,...everything is being arranged by the staff everyday, all day!). - The room (we had a front row balcony room) is very confortable, with lots of space and all the amenities available. - The beach is great! With a bar for drinks, a pizza station (the pizzas were very tasty!) and a barbecue corner. On the pool there's another bar with drinks and a station for ice cream, crepes, sandwiches, waffles, etc - 24h available food among the buffet and the 4 or 5 restaurants. We tried the buffet, the steak house and the greek restaurant...all very good. The breakfast is also very tasty, with lots of options and, because the hotel is so big, there are 2 available places for breakfast. Ours was next to the beach, with a amazing view. Perfect to start the day. - The staff was always very friendly, from front desk to cleaning staff, to waiters,...everybody! - Every night the hotel offered 2 live shows at the same time in different locations (main bar and beach bar). - The location is not central, but it's just 20min away from the old town by car and 15min to the airport. - The concierge service is very quick and they always managed everything we needed. - Regarding some reviews I saw in advance: the planes don't bother at all. They're landing almost every 30min, but you only notice it if you're at the beach and you barely hear it with the sound of the waves. The hotel is very family friendly with lots os space for the kids to run and play. We had no kids with us, but it was perfectly fine to have lots of them around us having fun. Plus, if you don't want kids around, there's always the option to go to an "adult only" hotel. - In general, great hotel! It was perfect for us to spend 4 days relaxing, spending time (lots of it) at the beach, eating whenever we wanted, sleeping,...just good life and not worring about a thing. - During the breakfast and the buffet, the drinks are not available for self service. We had to order and it took always quite some time to get some drinks. Plus, they serve the drinks in very small glasses and it's very difficult to order a 2nd drink. Also in the main bar, where it is normal not to have self service drinks, the drinks take a long time to be served (we waited more than 20min for a simple espresso in the morning with only our table and two more being served). And at night, when it's more crowded, it was always more than 30min to be served with a simple cola or orange juice.

Daarbij de restaurantjes met veel keuze in lekker eten. De cocktails en drankjes bij de barretjes waren heerlijk en van goede kwaliteit! De kamers, toiletten, strand en zwembad waren erg netjes en schoon. De bedjes bij het zwembad en het strand waren top iedereen had plek en de mega ligbedden waren perfect, op tijd opstaan als je deze wilt bemachtigen. Er is niets wat mij niet beviel, overal was aan gedacht. Wij hadden een maand voor de vakantie de restaurants gereserveerd, dit raad ik zeer zeker aan! Verder was alles heel goed in orde. Ook het eten was zeer lekker en de bediening zeer vriendelijk. We hadden verwacht dat er in de welness ook een sauna, hammam, infrarood, ... was maar het was enkele een klein zwembad en de mogelijkheid om behandelingen te volgen. De ligzetel was minder comfortabel en eigenlijk niet zo ideaal om een 3de volwassen persoon op te laten slapen.

- Ilia (1/5): A deeply disappointing and expensive week that felt more like living on a construction site - The one genuine highlight was the staff—throughout the entire hotel they were genuinely lovely, accommodating, and wonderful people. The kids club staff in particular were engaging and great with the children. The resort felt like an active construction site. The pool was dirty with floating plastic bottles on arrival, a construction truck was parked outside our room with no clear removal date, and the air reeked of tar and burning materials throughout our stay. Our newly constructed room smelled heavily of paint, and we found improperly cut cables and debris left inside—particularly concerning with two young children, including a baby. Outside our door, staff stored enormous bags of dirty laundry and cleaning supplies. The air conditioning was stuck on cooling mode for the entire stay, even when nighttime temperatures dropped to thirteen degrees—after five complaints, a technician finally admitted the entire building's system needed to be switched over to heating. The kids club kept children inside a convention center all week, even on sunny days when temperatures reached twenty-two degrees. The steak restaurant required a five-day wait to book, and when we finally got there the steaks were dry and the salads uninspired. Service across the hotel was slow, with waits of up to twenty minutes even for a simple coffee.

- Angenette (7/5): Mitsis Rinela let down - Aesthetically this resort is beautiful. The beach and views are beautiful. Our room was tidy and clean and had everything you need. Our swim up pool was absolutely freezing cold. We couldn’t even swim in it even on a hot sunny day. Most of the staff was friendly, however there was this one receptionist who was very rude to us with every encounter. We had just come from Dreams Corfu all inclusive, the swim up pool temperature was alot more pleasant to swim in cold but not freezing and the restaurant quality for food was a lot better aswell as the service. We received 5 star service from all their staff which is what we paid for and expected the same at Mitsis Rinela but didn’t get, which was disappointing because we booked based on reviews.

Es war überall sauber und das Essensangebot war toll. Würde ich auf jedenfall weiterempfehlen. Was für uns auch wichtig war, dass ein schöner Strand vorhanden ist - dies war auf jeden Fall der Fall. Am Abend wäre es gut gewesen, wenn ein bisschen mehr Unterhaltung stattgefunden hätte.

Jedzenie serwowane w formie bufetu było na bardzo niskim poziomie – przypominało raczej stołówkę niż restaurację w hotelu tej klasy. Obsługa sprawiała wrażenie zmęczonej i momentami była nieprzyjemna. Co prawda dostępne są restauracje à la carte, jednak wymagają wcześniejszej rezerwacji i nie ma gwarancji, że danego dnia uda się tam zjeść. Również w tych restauracjach dało się odczuć słabą jakość używanych produktów. Na duży minus zasługuje także woda w pokojach – była wyraźnie słona i mocno chlorowana, co zdecydowanie obniża komfort. Moim zdaniem hotel nie zasługuje na 5 gwiazdek; pod względem standardu i jakości usług znacznie odbiega od europejskich norm.

- Jordan (10/5): Clean friendly and homely resort with good food selection and great restaurants will definitely return in the future - The resort is very clean and well maintained. The mini bar was full and the room was cleaned to a good standard daily. We didn’t feel the need to leave the resort once which is rare and the facilities were very pleasant. Special shout out to marina who works serving drinks poolside, she was an absolute delight and the highlight of our trip always smiling always willing to help and never let a glass run dry we will definitely be returning in the future. Not much not to like, the only thing I might say is a lot of the sharing pools are labelled as sharing pools on the map however they are actually private pools (private pools also listed on the map) so there was some confusion but saying that there was no issue getting a spot around the main pool so everyday we had somewhere to chill.

- Christopher (6/5): - The basics were handled well: the food, snacks, and drinks were GOOD overall, though it can be confusing to figure out which outlet serves what at times. The air conditioning worked reliably and the bedding was comfortable. However, service and facilities left much to be desired. The shared pool Jacuzzi functions were out of order, and service consistently missed the mark. Food shortages occurred—like a certain item running out at the BBQ station two hours before closing—which is simply unacceptable for this price point. Consistency is an issue: welcome amenities varied drastically depending on who managed the check-in, based on clear observations of other arriving guests. Charging €20–€35 for late check-out at a supposedly five-star hotel is disappointing, regardless of the amount. On the culinary side, the Italian à la carte and Steakhouse experiences were good, but the so-called Italian Brunch was a letdown: the menu descriptions did not match the served food, which was BLAND and of poor quality. Bottom line: for the rates charged, especially compared to other local resorts, these issues are unacceptable and fall farrrrr short of five-star standards.
- anna (6/5): - i would like to state that i am a huge fan of the Mitsis group and have had over 12 stays at their hotels, however this is my first trip to one after covid and a lot has changed. the quality of the food is not great, and even the themed restaurants are serving food which is not good! the Rinela has had a great face lift and the sea is delightful, whilst we were there it was so windy and the life guards were excellent at keeping a watch. the staff in general were ok however the way they run the breakfast and dinner service is not great, you feel as though you are a number to be feed and moved on, not a very luxurious experience in fact the opposite. this may be due to the fact that it was August and the hotel was full. the pizza on the beach was ok, not very tasty and lacking in ingredients. the BBQ would run out everyday of simple things like cheese, hot dogs, lettuce! they also have a tendency to speak in Greek about the guests and as i do speak Greek it was not always very nice! the beach service is very hit and miss, you may get offered a drink and then nothing for the next two days. they just need to sharpen everything up and keep a smile on their faces, after all they are selling themselves as a 5 star hotel. i will never return to the Rinela and i am sad standards have dropped so much. the back office staff try and accommodate you as much as they can but again they are not very careful with their words. i would rate this hotel as a 4 star.

Hotel should find ways to address them as it does impact others. You would see 10 chairs reserved by 1 person for the kid's mini disco, endless sunbeds reserved and not used by midday. Vaping in the restaurant and large group of people being quite loud. - I had a linen shirt stolen from the drying rack, which is placed outside the room. A lovely hotel for sure, with some opportunities for improvement to ensure all guests feel comfortable and have equal chances of using all non-private space and facilities.

The hotel has an amazing view of the ocean and the beach is beautiful, it literally looks like a beach club with sun mattresses. The staff is also friendly and welcoming, helping us with everything we needed (especially Maria from guest relations!). The food is tasty and the restaurants are definitely worth trying to book. We especially loved the Italian restaurant and every restaurant brought diversity in the food we ate throughout the week. Lastly, the drinks at the lounge bar are delicious and very well made, we stayed and ordered drinks every night of the week. Would definitely come again!!

- Aniket (10/5): - We stayed at Mitsis Rinela to celebrate a milestone birthday and our anniversary and the experience was flawless from start to finish. Having already stayed at another Mitsis in Rhodes, I expected great service, but Rinela somehow exceeded even that. As vegans, we were especially impressed by how well the resort catered to our dietary needs. From the moment I emailed ahead of our stay, the resort’s in-house nutritionist, Maria, responded promptly and clearly explained our options at every restaurant. When we arrived, she met with us personally to ensure everything was in place and it was. We were introduced to the Executive Chef, Georgios, and Sous Chef, Ionis, who went out of their way to customise our meals. The service across all à la carte restaurants, cafés, and beach bars was simply incredible. We were constantly offered more food and options — the à la carte dining felt limitless, and every meal left us full and happy. It honestly felt like visiting a beloved grandmother who keeps lovingly feeding you. The staff were exceptional; always smiling, always helpful. A special thanks to Sha, Magdalini, Kelly, and Eleni, who made every dining experience extra special. The setting itself is stunning, with a grand pool, private beach, and beautiful architecture — but it’s the people who truly make Mitsis Rinela what it is. I work for a global travel company and can confidently say this was one of the best hospitality experiences I’ve had anywhere in the world!
- Olivia (6/5): Wouldn’t recommend this hotel - we have stayed in much better hotels in Crete. - - Al a carte restaurants were nice (Asian/ Italian / Steak) - Dionisis the bar waiter was exceptional , always going the extra mile and kept giving us good drink options to try and he was also always happy and friendly. - Main restaurant - there were no options for evening buffet at all and breakfasts waiting forever for a coffee by the time you had eaten breakfast, the coffee still hadn’t come out. - Slow service with drinks at the main bar and pool bar - No mini bar restock for 2 days but was advised when we got there the fridge was unlimited and would be filled up every day. - No restock of toilet roll/ body wash- had to request - The bed sheets were not replaced at all on our stay ( 1 week), this seemed very unhygienic to not change the sheets not even once.

- Mohamed Ali (10/5): - This was our 2nd time at Mitsis Rinela after trying a few of the Mitsis properties. The facilities and the sand beach are the main attraction for sure. Everything has been or is being refurbished and the hotel is really beautiful. Would highly recommend to anyone interested in an all inclusive resort. Only drawback for us as a couple was the number of kids around but that’s the summer for you. Not much can be done about that.

Renovated parts of the hotel were nice, lots of fun for the kids. Accesibility of the bars and snack food was good. Nice main pool and also the private pools. Extra points for the hotel staff renting a vacuum cleaner to our room for a whole stay to be able to clean my toddlers nose. Our premium room was not very clean, dusty floor, table and the wardrobe including the hangers. We called the reception to have the floor cleaned, as we had a toddler with us, they send someone but It didnt help much. Every they the cleaning was so so, my hair stayed on the floor every day until I removed them… The food is just OK, the main restaurant and the ala carte are not very food for 5star experience. Seeing the italian food being served in this hotel was sad and the eggs benedict, let me show you, definitely not the brunch you see on promo pictures of the hotel. They have app for everything, but bot for ordering food or drinks on the beach or by the private or main pool. So having private pool is nice but the only way to order something is to hunt a personálu which shows up very rarely or call the room service and pay the fee. Even on the beach you better go stand to the que to get the drink if you want to have it soon.

- Ahmad (10/5): - We had a fantastic two-week stay at Mitsis Rinela in summer 2024! From the moment we arrived, the experience exceeded our expectations. We were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade to a room with access to a shared pool, which really elevated our holiday experience. The room was spotless and well-maintained throughout our stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, always ready to help with a smile. We especially enjoyed the evening entertainment—it added a lovely touch to our nights and created a great atmosphere around the resort. The dining options were another highlight. In addition to the main buffet, there were several à la carte restaurants offering a nice variety of cuisines. One thing to note is that these restaurants require advance booking. Unfortunately, we weren’t aware of this at first, so we missed the chance to use our full quota of reservations. It would have been helpful to get a heads-up about that upon arrival. Overall, though, Mitsis Rinela offered a beautiful and relaxing getaway with great amenities, top-notch service, and memorable moments. We would definitely love to return!
- Hannah (9/5): Relaxing and highly enjoyable. - Beautifully presented hotel. Large comfortable rooms with lots of food and drink options available pretty much 24 hours per day. Overall staff were friendly and attentive. Special mention to Georgios at the beach bar for serving my beach beer everyday with a little free Greek lesson 😀 The Italian restaurant was not my favourite and it sometimes took a little long to get drinks at busy times of the day.
- Joshua (4/5): - I had a mixed stay for our honeymoon, I found all the dinner and service staff really lovely and the cleaners were really good, however there is a massive negative which really ruined our stay, the air conditioning which was advertised was set to heat mode for the first 5 days of our trip… despite complaining each day and being told it will be fixed tomorrow… it was not changed to cooling mode for 5 days, this really effected our sleep as it was so hot in our roo, they would not move us to a different room and just told us to put up with it… really disappointed by this otherwise I feel it would of been a lovely stay… Complained afterwards and was not offered any kind of compensation or refund on the stay. Also the area around is not that great I would recommend staying somewhere near chanai.

Their all-inclusive meals were high quality and dining room service was great. Bar service was a little slow during happy hour time. We couldn’t check in until an hour after check-in time which was slightly inconvenient; looking back, it would’ve been helpful to unwind somewhere on the property and get a text when our room was ready. We did get upgraded to a suite with a swim-up pool attached to our terrace, which was lovely. This was a nice place to bring our toddler. It felt family-friendly but sophisticated, too.

I reported it to staff three times, but no one ever came to check it out. I upgraded to the family suite, and unfortunately, my sister-in-law, who is half Black, felt extremely disrespected by the staff. They completely ignored her requests to the point that I had to step in and ask on her behalf. To make things worse, the makeshift bed downstairs had fleas. We later realized that the sliding doors are often left open, allowing stray cats to come in and lay on the couches—we actually saw this happen one night when it rained. Overall, this stay was disappointing and definitely not worth the money.

Our room was immaculate, chic, and beautifully decorated, with a spacious and modern bathroom that exceeded our expectations. Housekeeping ensured our room was spotless every day, always adding a personal touch with their care and attentiveness. The restaurants provided top-notch service alongside an impressive selection of dishes. Every meal felt like a special occasion, leaving us consistently impressed. The hotel’s location by the sea was breathtaking. Sipping expertly crafted cocktails on the beach while enjoying the serene views was an absolute highlight. The pizza and burger station added a fun and convenient touch that we absolutely loved. If we could give this hotel more than 10 stars, we absolutely would! We're already planning to explore another Mitsis hotel in the future, thanks to this unforgettable experience. A heartfelt thank-you to the entire team for making our stay so remarkable. If we return to Crete, there’s no question—we’ll be back to stay with you again!
- Heather (9/5): Relaxing Holiday! - The hotel was beautiful and very clean. All the staff were lovely! My partner and I would like to give a special shout out to the bar staff near reception and the bar staff on the beach. They really warm and personable which always adds to the experience. They also know how to mix a good cocktail! There was always something to do at the hotel and the different food to choose from. We were quite spoilt for choice! Our personal highlights were the BBQ corner, the waffle station and the Taverna. On the warmer days of our stay, we were able to catch some sun on the beach and enjoy the view of the sea. The room was beautiful. It was cleaned daily and the mini bar was always restocked. The evenings were action packed - our room had a balcony so we would sit outside and enjoy the music playing downstairs. We also noticed that there were also activities for children running simultaneously so I would recommend Mitsis to all my friends and family with small children. All in all, it was a great stay and we would definitely come back! Unfortunately, the hotel does not have a gym which was quite disappointing. They had a designated area by the tennis courts for free weights sessions in small groups. The hotel was also quite far from town and the buses do not come frequently. We ended up getting a cab which was a little pricey.

Good selection of snacks/pizza/grill between breakfast and dinner. Good facilities and lovely beach. Water in the pool very cold in late October; it would be nice if the pool was heated.
- Zainab (10/5): Amazing! - My stay at the Mitsis Rinela was amazing. From when I arrived the staff were exceptional, always smiling and easy to talk to. The rooms were cleaned daily and mini bar replenished daily. Most of the food options are good, especially the bits you can get during the day by the beach. I highly recommend booking the restaurants prior to your arrival - the Italian was my favourite. The swim up rooms are gorgeous and incredibly spacious, ordering drinks here was a bonus as you didn’t have to go to the bar. The food in the main hall
- Andrew (9/5): Lovely Hotel and Staff, Incredible Location - The staff are polite and attentive, although service could be very slow on occasion. The food is hit or miss depending on which main restaurant that you dine at, but the Beach BBQ and Waffle and Crepe stations are incredible. There is no shortage of food options and we did not need to leave the resort for the majority of our stay. All inclusive is worth it but be sure to book main restaurants online in advance. The location is on the beach and main pool over looks the coast. Great location and views, and a 15 minute bus journey from Heraklion Airport. Unfortunately we paid for a sea view, but were given a partial sea view. The food in the main restaurant was not upto par with the standards of the 4 other key restaurants. You are also only able to dine at each of the main restaurants once in a week, including the brunch.
- E (9/5): Amazing hotel and relaxing holiday - Incredible holidays! Very beautiful hotel and beach. The food is great and staff very friendly. The location is perfect and very easy to get to from the airport. Very minor complaint but the drinks have very few options that are non alcoholic without sugar (only Pepsi max and water). Would be great to have some sugar free sodas too. The other thing is that when I arrived all restaurant were already booked out for the duration of my stay. The buffet is great but I feel it’s unfair if you can’t explore other options you technically pay for. Overall a great holiday though!
- Philippe (9/5): nice, will do again! - Friendly people and some staff people are amazing. Shoutout to Cristos, Kleana, Rosa, Katarina, Fabiola for their good mood and vibes during our stay! The hotel care well for the customers well being and if any issues it will be adressed ASAP by them. Highlight of the highlights for me is the breakfast that has FRESH orange juice and this is already bringing the rating up as it is often just a chemical mix. Variety of snacks and food available at anytime always served with a smile! Thank you Rinela staff! I found dangerous that a life guard spent more time on his phone and tchit tchat than keeping an eye on the swimming pool and doing his job.... Secondly, one on the male animator (Water Polo activity) was good in walking like a bad boy, and doing his best to look good but never saw him doing the activity he was entitled to and when asking he always had a "good" excuse The Beach could have been cleaner , at least around the beach volley field, definitely some work to put there...
- Diana (10/5): - Had the most amazing time at Mitsis Renela. It’s absolutely gorgeous. Unfortunately, I experienced food poisoning on my second time which wasted our evening. The hotel simply asked why I didn’t call for the doctor but I wouldn’t normally think to call a doctor for food poisoning. Although this was very unfortunate, every other aspect of the hotel is great.

- Pavol (4/5): Not 5 star hotel service - Service was average, staff is obviously not really happy. Receptionist had really strange attitude. There is no gym, just outside some kind of TRX hanging from the ceiling and few kettle bells in the room. Room was nice but salty water in the shower. Breakfast: there was not proper Greek teas, even though you are in Greek restaurant. Scrambled eggs very salty, rice hard and salty again. This is not 5 star hotel service.

- Daphni (10/5): Wonderful all inclusive in Crete best for family friendly - We got a free upgraded room, after our flights were cancelled they were able to let us keep our room for another 2 days. Service and hospitality were above and beyond. Highly recommended can’t wait to come back again. Food at the private restaurants were delicious Wish there were more seating and time slots for the private restaurants
