Guest Reviews
- Richard (8/5): We had a great time in a wonderful holiday home with easy access to - Clean. Great bedrooms. Great facilities. Wonderful outside areas. Everything you need.
- Mel (5/5): Beautiful on a good day, but disappointing for us. - Location was perfect for us, we were visiting Thursford show, it was 5 minutes away at most. Convenient parking.
It was a beautiful, comfortable house with lovely furnishings. Some thoughtful snacks in the kitchen. Unfortunately we had several issues with the heating. When we arrived there was no heating on and there was an error on the boiler and heating didn’t come on all night. Not ideal for December, particularly when downstairs isn’t carpeted. There were no logs left at property for the log burner - I did report the issues and a lovely lady delivered some logs within half an hour. Whilst we were out I believe a plumber visited and left some electric heaters, however unfortunately several of those also didn’t work properly. There were extra blankets on the bed, we didn’t freeze, but considering the price we paid to be here I was very disappointed it wasn’t as comfortable a stay as it should have been.
We also really struggled to lock the front door.
I got an injury from the front gate. It’s quite dark by the gates in the evening and I used my hands to push the gate shut against the wind, not seeing two pointed screws jutting out of the gate panels. I pushed against one of the screws and injured myself.
- J (4/5): Apart from the issues mentioned above the house was clean. And nicely decorated. - No number or name on the property. NO LIGHTING along the paths, had to use torches on our phones. Only knew we were at the correct property by opening the key box and using the key. Lack of instructions for induction hob and the folder in the property was for number 2. Microwave needs replacing (finish inside flaking off) baked on curry inside of microwave.Sheets for 1 of the single beds had a mark on. No bath mats took our own (mentioned in previous reviews).

- Lee (10/5): home from home - second stay here and it is exceptional works really well as a home from home all good
- Graeme (9/5): Great location, well appointed accommodation - We’ll set out, great outside space. All you need for a short break. None
- Lee (9/5): perfect base with excellent comfort - lovely well kitted house a real delight in a perfect location to proximity of thursford museum
the welcome hamper of goodies was a lovely touch all good
- kim (8/5): Great property, needs a manual upgrade (more detail) - Great property, well presented, clean, comfortable. Everything you need. Lack of accessible information regarding how to use: TV. Coffee machine, heating, etc. Manual given didn't cover any of that. Manual says, "Please put rubbish in dustbins, but didn't mention where they are, so had to hunt for them.". Was worried about elderly and kids slipping on wooden stairs and no rubber mats in bathrooms. Sink tap downstairs looks loose as if it needs to be tighted underneath or sealed. Hooks/knobs on the back of bathroom doors loose. It does say in Manuel write this in maintenance book, but doesn't state where maintenance book 🤔 is.
Could do with a light up house name at front of drive. Had to fine, was luck someone in driveway and we asked; even local taxi driver couldn't find it in the dark.
