Guest Reviews
- Kenzi (10/5): - It was in a perfect space to get away. Scenery was brilliant and it was in a perfect space. There was nothing we didn’t like but if there was one thing there was no tv but that didn’t bother us as we were out most of the time.
- Carole (7/5): Basic, clean, adequate - bit characterless but okay for our needs - Location was good and the view was lovely over the ponds, the space inside the property was very generous, coffee and tea was provided, the shower worked well, the heating was pretty good, a couple of eggs and an apple was a nice touch, and we could park next to the property, The shower drain was choked and filled up, there was no tv, the bedroom floorboards were very noisy, the curtains in the bedroom were badly hung and failing, the place was adequate but lacked any character which, whilst we did enjoy our stay, would have improved it.
- Karen (10/5): - Such a lovely, peaceful and friendly place to stay. Would highly recommend it. Hot tub was an added bonus and hosts were brilliant👌 There was nothing we didn't like

- Chrissie (7/5): Boathouse - Hut was spacious and warm.Kitchen and bathroom was equipped well. View was beautiful and host greeted us well. Peacefull. As a couple we had 2 singles bed together and 2 single duvets. Not comfortable at all. Options for double bed or double mattress topper and double duvet with 2 pillows each would have been well recommended. Bedroom floor was very bouncy to walk on. No curtains just blinds in livingroom/ kitchen. Option of a tv could have been offered when chilling out on the evening.Felt uncomfortable when people went passed, as looking in. Not that private.

- robert (10/5): Best accommodation ever - Everything!!! Kevin and Lydia were amazing hosts so so helpful ❤️ every night Kevin fired up the hot tub for us so we could use when we returned from lomg days out. The boathouse was in lovely location beautiful accommodation so clean and comfortable, with spectacular views over the fishing lakes qe even got to see shooting stars while in the hot tub. We will definitely be returning thank you so much for a lovely stay!!! Rob Sue and Ethan Nothing everything was perfect 👌

- Tom (8/5): It was lovely. To wake up and look out over the fishing lakes was delightful. - Met by the owners Lydia and Kevin who were very friendly and welcoming. Nothing
- joseph (10/5): Out standing place to stay. - Great hospitality, every thing was there we needed, used the hot tub brilliant, the view in the morning was beautiful, eating breakfast looking out was perfect. Even the little caravan coffee shop was out standing , fresh cooked food, great coffee, fresh homemade jam and honey. Can get trout on request fresh from lakes All in all outstanding. Nothing perfect.
- Danny (9/5): - The location was great. Great scenery on the property. Perfect for a getaway. Close to shops within a 5 mile drive.
Land owners are very friendly and welcoming.
Kevin and Lydia are most polite and helpful.
Lydia does great hot brew's from her little business on the property. Some people that are unknown to the area are mistaken out accommodation as a booking facility/ Reception.
- Linzyanne (10/5): Perfect location to switch off from the daily chaos and enjoy some natural tranquillity - Fantastic location the most spectacular views over the water from both the house and hot tub, short drive to some fantastic beaches and forest walks the information pack within the house was extremely helpful bonus that you could hire a rod and do some fishing on your door step. The option of the hot tub was a welcome treat also.
The kindest most helpful hosts, full of lots of local knowledge extremely accommodating and approachable. Not an issue for us in fairness due to being out exploring most of the time but the one night we chilled the little one struggled to get any WiFi signal to FaceTime friends
- Susan (7/5): Good - Friendly hosts.
Lovely view of ponds
Big livingroom
Big bathroom
The fishery itself is spotless...3 lovely well kept ponds /grounds in a great location. If the hosts just sort out the issues with the accomodation and possibly use the spare grass near the side of the car park to put the camper vans over there instead of filling up the car park and a privacy screen at the hot tub then it would be perfect. No privacy.
I booked it for my birthday and noticed there was also a hot tub (for a charge) ..The
place said we had sole use or similar wording so was tempted to book the hot tub/pay for that too but didnt..I'm so glad I didnt!
I totally get its a fishery but the hot tub has no privacy...The pics on this site makes it look like its secluded when in fact its right where everyones walking past and theyre often looking into the accomodation and the hot tubs only across from it..
We just seemed to find quite a lot of easily fixed cosmetic issues..Theres blinds on all 4 windows and the chains are damaged on each set so we closed most of them except one. window..pointless when we booked for the nice view! There was a gap between the front door and frame side.
When we arrived the host told us she'd be back to fix the letterbox as it was hanging off.
The shower cubicle also leaks..its obviously not been built properly as theres a gap where the doors should meet and its rusting around the edges., so it soaks the floor regardless where the bath mat is positioned.
It also seems that the car park for the fishery is used for camper vans to stay at too so if we were out exploring the area during the day when we came back later we oftern struggled tp get a parking space near the accomodation
It also turns out its a converted garage so the back of the accomodation has a big door open all day.. the few days we spent there I heard strange noises at my side of the room which I'm wondering now was mice in the roof.
Two single beds that were pushed together instead of a double or king size bed. The bedroom was a decent size with ample wardrobe space but beds were not ideal for couple.
- Kevin (10/5): Fantastic location and friendly owners , would stay here again . - The location was perfect for exploring the area , the setting was beautiful , the boathouse was clean and comfortable , the family who ran the boathouse were very friendly and helpful . Only thing which would have enhanced my personal experience would have been a tv , but it’s didn’t spoil my stay but it may for others .
- John (10/5): Amazing and the owners we absolutely 💯 great and very friendly - Loved the property and the location , shower is great , peaceful There was nothing we did not like
- Sophie (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (9/5): A Hidden Gem in Longmorn – The Boathouse is a Must! - A Hidden Gem in Longmorn – The Boathouse is a Must!
We stayed at The Boathouse for 3 nights in Longmorn and were absolutely delighted. What a spot! Kevin’s passion for both the stunning lake and the property itself is truly inspiring. He met us on arrival and made sure everything was in place – a warm welcome that set the tone for our stay.
The accommodation is beautifully presented and makes a perfect base to explore the gorgeous surrounding area. We were visiting family, so didn’t get a chance to take full advantage of the facilities, but it’s clear this place would be a dream for anyone who enjoys fishing or visiting local distilleries.
This is a family-run business, and it really shows in the care and heart that’s been put into every detail. We’d highly recommend The Boathouse and would absolutely stay again. Well worth supporting!
- Alan (9/5): Superb - The location is stunning, with stunning evening sunsets to the front of the property.
The accommodation is spacious and well appointed, and the location is quiet and restful. The accommodation looks a little odd on first glance, situated beside the carpark of the angling centre, but it more than makes up for this with the views and the accommodation itself
- Diane (10/5): Peaceful quiet fishing retreat - The property was lovely, clean, beds comfortable, nice and warm. Off the beaten track a car is necessary. Overlooking fishing lake. We attended for a family funeral so didn’t use fishing facilities. No TV but we were just using as somewhere to sleep so fine for us. Everything was good
- Stewart (10/5): Exceptional - The owners and location were exceptional. That I had to leave
- Fay (8/5): Very good - Very peaceful and quiet No TV
- Janos (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tracey (9/5): Superb - Very comfortable and spacious. Very clean. Warm. Great location, lovely views over the lakes. Front door lock bit temperamental.
Instructions to get there could be clearer.
- Stephen (1/5): My review for this stay is .2 of a star - Was a lovely location but unfortunately other than going fishing it didn’t have anything there whatsoever to yous no tv no wifi well it supposedly had wifi but just like me and my colleges phone signal it didn’t work No tv no wifi no nothing horrible! woman is not very nice either didn’t like the way she came across. didn’t like anything at-all said to the woman that owns the place that there is a lot of fish in her pond with diseases just simple friendly advice as you’re supposed to tell fisheries if you spot any fish with disease on it
But this woman took offence to it genuinely came over to me after handling a fish with care and taking a photo and tried to say that the fish that I safely returned will probably now get a disease little does she know or knew I am a keen angler and know exactly how to handle a fish and safely return them I spoke to a few ppl on the fishery and they said the place was a lot better when the old owner was there
- Marta (9/5): very relaxing - fly fishing :)
- Nicola (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sean (7/5): A great place to hide away from everything and take life at a slower pace - It's a beautiful location, and Kevin couldn't be more helpful.
Surroundings are very peaceful, and even managed to see an Osprey over the fishing lake Perhaps a small tv would be nice, and maybe a proper oven/hob.
- Robert (10/5): Best Holiday Ever - Excellent location, Kevin, Lydia and the children were the best hosts we have ever had they are the nicest people we have ever had the pleasure of meeting.
The quality of fishing and fish was first class Kevin and Lydia have also got the best and nicest local fishermen visiting the site everyone was helpful and I must mention George,Chris,Johnny and Alan for there great company and knowledgeable help and company on my visit. I would highly recommend this holiday if you’re requirement is good company, peaceful surroundings and quality fishing. My dream holiday come true. Nothing
- Angela (9/5): A beautiful location, my husband and I don’t fish but it was a great base to explore from. The owne. - Beautiful location, very relaxing and peaceful. I felt it was just missing a few home comforts.
No tv or radio. My husband isn’t a reader and enjoys relaxing at night listening to the radio or watching tv. Even a DVD player would be nice to be able to relax with a movie in the evening.
- Margaret (10/5): Exceptional - The location was beautiful and rhe owners were very friendly and helpful.
- Will (10/5): A lovely holiday destination with beautiful views that has activities right on the doorstep - Lovely location to relax and had everything you would need for a longer stay away.
Beautiful views and friendly host. The WiFi speeds was a little slow but enough for the purposes I needed it for, however if my trips purpose was for leisure/relaxing/holiday, this wouldn't be an issue.
- Ileana (10/5): We loved being in the country side but 5 min from the city is quite convenient. - Absolutely everything, the solitude, peace and quiet absolute tranquility we loved everything Nothing to dislike
- Kirsty (9/5): Superb -
- Nicola (9/5): Excellent place to stay - Gorgeous location Liked everything
- Claire (10/5): Fantastic place to stay! Won’t hesitate to book again. - Fantastic host, very friendly and made us feel welcome.
Properly was spacious, warm and clean with fantastic views.
We stayed here 2 nights and wouldn’t hesitate to book again. If I was being fussy could do with a radio/speaker or tv.
