Guest Reviews
- Alan (10/5): Great location and exceptionally clean. - The property was excellent on all levels: location, cleanliness, breakfast and host. Also the benefit of a driveway was a big plus. Nothing we didn’t like.
- Javier (10/5): Congratulations on your B&B, it made us feel extremely comfortable and eager to come back again. - We stayed in the Avocet bedroom, which was exceptionally clean and absolutely flawless. Warm and quiet, we enjoyed the views of the lovely garden through the double‑glazed windows. The room was well equipped with a TV, a kettle with tea and coffee, a refrigerator outside the room (so there were no noises disturbing our sleep), and a hairdryer.
The furniture was nice and of good quality. It had a couple of chairs where you could sit and read, and a dining table with a bench where you could sit with your laptop.
The beds and pillows were very comfortable, I fell asleep deeply and woke up feeling fully refreshed. The carpet was soft, fluffy, and spotless, it felt like walking on a lawn or a forest floor covered in moss.
The bathroom was immaculate, so bright and shiny that you’d almost need to wear sunglasses inside. It was equipped with a spacious bathtub and a shower head that made you regret getting out of the shower.
The host, John, was very welcoming, kind, and helpful, and the information he gave us in his messages and during our chat was a great guide to enjoying our stay.
The breakfast was delicious, the ingredients were of good quality and perfectly cooked. i do not have nothing to complaint about .

Comfortable room and bed. Turn out of the property is on a bend. I always turned left to avoid an issue with traffic that could be coming round the bend quickly.

- Jean (10/5): Excellent stay! - Bramble Cottage was like being at home, so clean and welcoming. Our hosts were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Our room, Avocet, was a lovely room and overlooked the pretty garden, the room was very clean and the book comfortable. There was also an area in the garden to sit - in which was great as the weather was good. Not a thing
- Susan (10/5): John and Julie were great hosts Nothing was too much trouble we look forward to returning - The breakfast was lovely and cooked to order Could not complain about anything
- Linda (9/5): You'd have a job to better Bramble Lodge - Since we gave up caravanning a year ago we have been struggling to find suitable holiday accommodation. There always seems to be something that irritates or is inconvenient. But Bramble Lodge is the closest thing we’ve found so far that ticks nearly all the boxes. I could list all the superb features, facilities, quality of decor etc, but suffice to say that John and Julie have clearly thoroughly thought through what they think a B&B should be and put it into place. The other big factor for us is the location. Just a few hundred yards from the sea front, several restaurants, hotels, pubs, cafes, but far enough away to avoid the noise at night. Another factor is easy, off street parking which can be a real issue in compact Norfolk villages and towns. We were slightly concerned that the house is opposite a filling station, but that really isn’t an issue; the house is well set back off the road behind big hedges, the garage is closed in the evenings so it is not an issue. The hosts John & Julie clearly enjoy their job, they are friendly, interact well without being pushy or intrusive and offer they an amazing selection for breakfast including locally sourced products where possible. In room facilities include tea & coffee making with fresh milk which is kept fresh in a small fridge on the landing. Not many negative things to mention. There are very few charging stations nearby if you have an EV. Finding a taxi on the bank holiday weekend proved to be virtually impossible! One thing might also be worth mentioning is that, while it is close to the town, you do have to cross the road to get down to the sea and it is a main road, also being on a curve with limited footpaths and visibility, so you need to be reasonably agile once you have decided to cross. Also exiting from the drive onto the main road can be a little scary due to limited visibility. The shower is an in bath one albeit beautifully finished, so anybody with limited mobility might struggle a) to get in and b) to manoeuvre in the abscence of any grab handles. But all considered, any negatives are far outweighed by the positives.
- Stuart (7/5): Pleasant and fit for purpose , would stay again if a bigger room and bed was available - Breakfast and hosts were excellent The bed. Too small and restrictive. The room was quite small
- Hayden (10/5): Excellent looking forward to coming back and would definitely stay at Bramble lodge 👍 - Great location for village, very clean, great breakfast and choice of breakfast.Hosts were excellent and sent us a list of restaurants and pubs. - Mandy (9/5): Superb -
- Sally (9/5): A lovely stay with very welcoming hosts and a great property. - The hosts were very welcoming and the pre-information they sent with suggestions of places to eat, things to do, etc was very helpful.
- Christine (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent breakfast and location
- Sauvage (10/5): We would be very happy to stay with John and Julie again if we stay in Blakeney again. - Breakfast was freshly made, filling and very good. There was a wide selection to choose from. John and Julie were very pleasant, friendly hosts who were present but did not hover. The location was great, just a short, lovely stroll through the village to the quay. Our room was very spacious with a view over the garden. The bathroom was also spacious with lots of hot water. Everything was VERY clean. :) Maybe there could be a couple of different types of pillow options? feather? memory foam?
- Jenny (8/5): Very good - Amazing breakfast. Everything very clean. Bed too small. Shower very small.
- Lesley (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (9/5): We had a very good stay despite seasonal weather, will certainly return. - Breakfast was excellent with choice of well cooked options. Service was v good.
Location was brilliant, close to excellent coastal bus services for easy access to nearby towns and facilities.
Only minutes away from excellent local amenities, shop and eateries, as well as busy quay. Everything was very good, accomodation, location and hosts.
- Wendy (7/5): Very enjoyable but have stayed there before. - Breakfast was superb 👌 Preferred a walk in shower but accessories were acceptable.
- Gerry (9/5): Fabulous B&B, wonderful friendly hosts, great food, highly recommended - Very clean and tastefully decorated.

- Ruth (10/5): Brilliant, a wonderful place to stay. - Lovely room, beautifully decorated with views of the garden. Quiet location in the area we wanted, close to lots of walks, scenery and places to eat.

- Aine (10/5): Exceptional - John and Julie were excellent hosts. We had a lovely stay.
- Patrick (9/5): Stay was lovely; Booking.com were useless. - Already covered in previous questions. Nothing about the property, but I shall never book with Booking.com again. Unfortunately, we failed to take details of the property with us. I tried every method available to me to contact Booking .com but was unable to do so. Such obstacles as 'booking reference' were not available to me. It took us one and a half hours and much help from locals to find our holiday stay. One person who had a Booking.com com account even tried to contact them on our behalf but received a recorded message saying that there was a waiting time of 20 minutes! The service was appalling and you can now remove me from your mailing as we shall never stay with Booking.com again.
Booking.com need to try actually providing a service instead of telling everyone how wonderful they are!
- Amanda (10/5): Home from home. - Home from home. Best B&B I’ve ever stayed in, immaculate, great food. John and Julie are great hosts. Thoroughly recommended. Everything was perfect.

- Clare (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely B&B within walking distance of Blakeney Quay. Very friendly welcome from Julie and John. Lovely room with view of the garden with bright, modern shower en-suite. Fantastic breakfast both mornings from an extensive menu of options.
- Cyril (10/5): What a brilliant find happened on completely by chance - wish we could have stayed longer! - Breakfast was AMAZING! Pre-ordering required the night before from a really extensive menu of locally sourced ingredients including real sausages and bacon with great taste and all dietary needs/allergies catered for. Our stay would have needed extending by a further 10 days to be able to sample all that was on offer! Location was brilliant for accessing local pub, shops, village hall and just a short walk to the Quay and Harbour, with car being left at Bramble Lodge. John and Julie were magnificent hosts with nothing too much trouble The self catering Annex is dog friendly with its own enclosed little garden with garden furniture and seating and a real sun trap in the afternoons. Our whole experience was a real joy! Absolutely nothing for us but the Annex would not be suitable for those with mobility issues due to the narrow winding stair to the first floor bedroom and bathroom.
