- Maria (10/5): Highly recommended - We had a wonderful experience at this homestay. It was warm, quiet and had a true local feel. The host, was incredibly helpful throughout our stay. On our last day, we lost our wallet. The host waited patiently for over an hour and a half while we tried to sort things out. She even gave us some cash when we urgently needed it for pay a taxi, and helped us communicate with the police as a translator. Her calm and supportive nature made a stressful situation much easier to handle. On the other hand we had to stay urgently for one more night and she didn’t have any problem with that.
Additionally, she arranged a bus for us to Binh Binh, which picked us up directly from the homestay, super convenient. The flexibility and kindness we experienced here were beyond expectations. She speaks very good English which is a plus. Thank you Stella for everything!
- Young (8/5): Very good -
- Katerina (10/5): Exceptional - We stayed here for the second time, this time choosing the accommodation to spend Tet in Hanoi. We really love it - the rooms are cozy, the little kitchen with free drinking water is a bonus, fridge and dining area are good too, the place has been always clean and shower is nice and hot (if you don't forget to turn on the water heater of course :)
Staff hasn't been present due to the holiday but they are available on WhatsApp and answered fairly quickly and make sure we had everything. Lots of local recommendations included. We enjoyed the neighbourhood, which feels local and quiet, and with the bus stopping right at the main street it is extremely easy to get all around the city. We would definitely stay again when we're back in Hanoi!
- Eleanor (10/5): Exceptional - It was nice and quiet and comfortable. I rented the rose room and it was really big. Thu, the lovely woman who rents the room, bought me medicine and hydration packets when I got food poisoning. She is so kind, I highly suggest renting here Nothing
- Liisa (9/5): Superb -
- Giboire (9/5): Very good and cheap option in Hanoi. - Loved the location. Communication with the staff. It was good.
- Giboire (9/5): Perfect place in Hanoi - Personally loved the location. Room is very good. Host is so nice. It was good
- Dariusz (10/5): I recommend - Very cosy place, nice helpful people and good atmosphere. Good location near city centre. My favourite in Hanoi. 🥰🥰🥰
- Boungninh (9/5): Superb - Very quiet neighborhood and clean cute room. There’s a kettle and free tea. The owner texted before we arrived to make sure everything goes smoothly. It was a little cold the first night. It’s a little walk to the center of Hanoi (like 30min) but it’s ok given the price!
- Сергей (8/5): Very good -
- Henrik (10/5): Exceptional -
- Piper (9/5): Superb - Great value homestay in Hanoi. It was in a local area so away from the touristy areas but not too far away from attractions Finding the location was a bit tricky but the online videos showing how to get there were very helpful
- Jamie (7/5): Interesting experience ,full on Hanoi local vibe ,,genuine as it gets - Good friendly neighbourhood with nearby coffee shops for that morning coffee hit ,,no bahmi shops nearby though ,,,plenty green tea and kettle provided .comfy ,clean bed ,easy communications Maybe needed a table in the room ,,though the kitchen table was enough ..price to airport was too high
- Swapnil (10/5): Exceptional -

- Leon (10/5): Exceptional - I really like the decoration here!! nothing!!
- Perez (10/5): Exceptional - The room is clean and quite fragrant!!! no
- Ann-kristin (3/5): Not a good experience - The contact person, Ly, was very nice. The self check in worked fine. There was mold everywhere, even on the pillow cases as well as the shower. It smelled really bad. The air con didn’t work and the room looked like you get bed bugs from it. The location is very far away from everything so you need to order an grab everywhere you want to go. Not recommended..
- Ashim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cina (10/5): Exceptional - good!! nothing
- Wynell (10/5): Exceptional - friendly nothing!
- David (10/5): Exceptional - very satisfied!! nothing
- Woodsim (10/5): Exceptional - uki nothing

- Deborah (9/5): Superb - The service here is very good and there are many delicious restaurants around here, there are beautiful coffee shops that are also very delicious, and the staff are friendly and enthusiastic!!
- John (10/5): Exceptional - Room decoration is very comfortable and clean. The bathroom here is very fragrant!! nothing!!
- Anita (10/5): Exceptional - The room has quite good soundproofing. The bathroom is very clean and tidy. When entering the room, it smells great, without an unpleasant odor like other homestays I've been to.!! nooooo!!
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional - Awesome, easy communication. The apartment is slightly hidden but Stella provides easy instructions for self checkin. It's cleaned daily and so much more comfy than crowded hostels. Not a big deal but the location is not dead central but it's like 5-7 minutes with Grab bike so who cares.
- Julian (9/5): Superb - I really like the service here especially the breakfast nothing
- Colby (10/5): Exceptional - hmm...maybe everything! im very satisfied nothing
- Nguyen (9/5): Superb -
- Dale (10/5): good trip - Having everything here with a cheap homestay: kitchen, living room, dining table, desk, good air conditioning is the best thing with this weather.
- Filip (10/5): Exceptional - Place is far away from all city noise. Rooms are standard. There is public bus stop nearby and excelent coffee shop with fruit smoothies.
- Tomáš (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kimberley (7/5): For the price, it was really nice. - The room was nice. The price was amazing. We had AC available which was very much needed with the weather. The beds were confortable and there was a socket nearby each. The owner was very responsive and gave us nice recommendations for food. (We didn't have this chance on the first day but) Once the cleaning lady passed by, to take care of a few things, the place was really nice. I wished there was a fan or AC in the living room. It gets easily hot in there.
I wouldn't recommend the rooms from the rooftop during rainy days as it becomes very loud in the room. We were sleeping in bunker beds and had to be quite loud to understand each other. (Maybe it's a normal thing and I'm just not familiar with that).
The address shared by booking and the actual address are slightly different on Google map. Make sure to look up for the "Lyna house" neon sign to help you find the appartement in the N11/N13 dead-end street, on the fourth/last floor of a building.
The phone number on the booking.com email also didn't work with us. No one answered to us while we were confused because the address was not correct either.
Luckily, once we found the entrance door (thanks to a neighbor) we found a sheet of paper beside the door with another phone number to contact.
The up floor of the apartment might be a bit too difficult to access for people with leg or knee related issues as the stairs are a bit narrow. Try to book the rooms on the ground floor instead.
It's a bit far from the center, but this up to your preferences.
- Gucci (10/5): Free apartment - Privacy is put on top, you can pay online with a very convenient link. I have never met the landlord or staff, but it doesn't matter, there are still people who clean up every day and are very professional Cheap price, air conditioning, nothing more
- Diana (9/5): Basic room - Everything is clean, cheap, you can walk to the tourist destinations by walking The house is old, but has been repaired and repainted with many colors
- Anna (10/5): Our favourite room in Hanoi - The host was amazing and so communicative. This was our favourite place we stayed in Hanoi, probably even the whole of Vietnam. Comfiest bed we have had which was appreciated after a long travel day. Slightly further out from the centre but nice to be in a different area thats walkable to the old quarter. Everything you could need and more for such an excellent price. Highly highly recommend Nothing at all
- Anastasia (6/5): Pleasant - the room was clean There is no need to deceive guests that the room is occupied, it is better to say that you have rules, check-in is at 2, why make it up? The shower and toilet were very dirty, it was unpleasant to enter.
- Ania (8/5): Very good - Room Sakura was very comfortable and clean. It has everything that people that is needed during the stay. Good WiFi. Local area Rest of the room was kind of old
- Carlos (10/5): Exceptional - Harry was a super helpful host! Ideal for your start in Vietnam. Got us Sim cards, helped us book trips and even took us for a beer! Location is nice, next to the old quarter but in an area that is outside the hustle with more local life. Very recommended!
- Petri (9/5): Superb -
- Elli (8/5): Very good - It 's quiet and outside of the old city center, there are a lot of local markets and restaurants around which makes you feel like a local! If you prefer walking and exploring the local 's lifestyle, then this is your place! Also, the host is very helpful, suggesting a variety of places close to the property. My one and only problem was cleaning. As the bathrooms, the kitchen and the living room are shared they need to be cleaned by the staff in regular base. Also my room had some small ants, walking around the table and the bed frame, nearby the pillowcase.
- Oruc (3/5): We were disappointed. Our experience here did not match our other experiences with accommodation in Viet Nam. - Price We (my gf and I) don’t like giving bad reviews, but we have to he honest towards our fellow travelers.
Our first experience was ok, the owner is nice. He indicated that we could leave our backpacks and go explore the city (we were too early for the check-in.
But from thereon it went down rapidly. The room was relatively ok, but there were several stains on the pillow and the mattress.
In the shower and in the bathroom there was a considerable amount of mould. It did not feel clean at all. There were two signs in the toilet to not throw toilet paper into the toilet. There was a little bin next to it. But the bin had no foot paddle, so you had to open it with your hand. The bin was completely full so some part of the used toilet paper was sticking out when I opened it and parts of the used toilet paper came on my hand. It was not pleasant at all. Indicating that it wasnt emptied for a while.
There were shampoo containers in the shower, but both containers were completely empty. Also indicating that it wasn’t filled for a
We had the feeling that he runs the accommodation part-time and therefore did not have the time to properly take care of the accommodation, resulting in the poor state of the accommodation.
The place is relatively cheap for Ha Noi standards, but if we had booked again we would for sure spend a few extra €’s to get another place to be completely honest.
- Emma (10/5): Exceptional - The room was super comfortable and original !
The location was good too.
We recommend !
- Danny (10/5): Felt right at home - It is a very cosy place, with comfortable beds and a very good shower. The reception by Harry was so friendly, I felt right at home. If you’d like to be in old town, it’s a bit far away. However, I liked the neighbourhood around the property very much. It’s very vibrant and much more local than the center of Hanoi.
- Maria (8/5): Very good - The host was super wonderful and helpful! The location was nice, further from all the super busy streets, lovely design and cute area.
- Dovile (8/5): Very good - Really comfy bed and soft bedding! Great lighting options in the room I stayed at. Easy check in process. Bathroom was not very clean (all it needs is a little scrub for the shower walls :)… and my room had the windows painted over so in order to see the view I had to keep them open (it was a bit cold during that time). It is because I enjoy looking through the windows and I love natural light in rooms. :)
- Jack (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ronald (10/5): cheap homestay but very good service -
- Sara (9/5): Great value for money & great host - Very good value for money, private room for cheaper than hostel, good internet connection, clean A bit of a walk from the centre
- Sonja (8/5): Very good - Nicely decorated. Although I didn’t meet anyone because of the Tet holiday, communication through WhatsApp was very warm and fast. It’s in a quiet area. Bus stop within walking distance that can take you to the center (because of Tet I couldn’t get grab) This is of course not on the accommodation, but you share this place with other travelers, which also determines your experience. I had booked this because I wanted it to be quiet at night. But the other guests were talking loudly in the living area at 3 am.
- Jakub (9/5): Cozy and unique Hanoi spot - Colorful place, where you feel like you are at your home. The place is harder to find, but If you ask anybody, they will point you to this place! It is really unique and the stay was more than good!
- Hang (10/5): It's perfect - It's an apartment in an old building where you can experience and enjoy the local life. It's located nearby Hoan Kiem lake, railway stations.
The host, Mr Ha is really helpful and friendly. Probably the wooden door. Since it's raining season so the door is hard to be closed and opened. But everything is fine.
- Anna (9/5): Superb - The room was comfortable, beds soft, hairdryer present. In the common space there was a drinking water distributor and the machine to keep the water hot, which was very useful.
The host was very friendly and helpful. The night was quite cold and he brought us the air heater which helped a lot.
The bathroom was a bit cold, but the shower water was hot. There was a window in the room, but the glass was painted so we couldn't see anything outside. Still it's possible to open the window, which is good. There are not so many restaurants in the nearby, but you can buy a banh mi, fruits or coffee on the street next to the hostel.
In general, I would recommend that place to stay in Hanoi - the price is very good.
- Redoy (8/5): Optimal selection for budget-conscious travelers - The accommodation features a shared bathroom for two rooms. Although the room is compact, it is well-maintained and tidy. The room on the fourth floor lacks both a fan and air conditioning, and there is no elevator available.
- Shanshan (2/5): real not worth it. wish I spent a little bit more money and live in a much better environment. - very old residential building. photos online do not match with the room. Broken window. creepy decoration.
- Maas (9/5): Thank you Harry - Harry helped us a lot in planning our Northern experience. He so kind and enthusiastic person The stairs are a bit small and difficult to move if you have large and heavy luggage
- Smallridge (10/5): Exceptional - A great choice for those who want to experience local culture
- Denis (10/5): Exceptional - Very kind and helpful host 😊👌
- Jeffrey (10/5): Cozy room - I really like it here, there is everything: kitchen, refrigerator, personal items. The owner is very funny and enthusiastic, showed me a list of places around the homestay, they are very useful for newcomers. I will come back here many more times. :)) See you my friend Nothing
- Khoa (10/5): Exceptional - The decoration of this house is unique and beautiful. The room is clean and the host is very friendly and helpful. Nothing
- Betty (10/5): Excellent - The room is colorful and cozy. wifi, bed are all good. quiet. Cheap room price The toilet is located outside the room.
