Guest Reviews
- Tom (7/5): Cosy and quaint - Cosy and good location If you are tall (over 6ft) the stairs and bathroom are a struggle
- Libby (9/5): -
- Val (10/5): - Really loved the cottage.
Very comfortable.
The location was perfect. There was nothing we didn't like.
Thank you.
- helene (8/5): Très bon séjour dans ce gîte et ce village! - L'equipement et la propreté. La proximité de la rue principale sur laquelle circulent pas mal de voitures...
Peu de restaurants ouverts tard les soirs où nous séjournions dans le village.
- Stuart (9/5): -
- Barbara (6/5): Good location, no parking and need to be agile for stairs and low ceiling - Walking distance to shops and cafes. Great kitchen, good heat pumps, comfy beds no parking with property and street parking is quite some distance away. (not outside the property). The stairs are extremely steep and you need to hold onto rope rail for safety also they cme out through a small cupboard into the loung so need to duck your head. Bathroom very small
- Heidrun (8/5): -
- Melissa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicola (6/5): Pleasant cottage in the centre of Stow on the wold - A lovely character cottage in a great location in Stow on the Wold. Suoer comfy bed and kitchen was well equipped.
We appreciated the thoughtful welcome hamper. We also liked the tasteful Christmas decorations The bathroom and the stairs!! The bathroom is TINY. There is only enough hot water for half a bath and we were too tall to use the shower properly! Would suggest the bathroom needs a re think! The stairs are very tricky. Taking a suitcase to the attic bedroom is not easy. The cottage is lovely, but a bit tired
- Sonya (8/5): We all loved Honey Cottage and were sad to leave. - Fantastic location, you can easily nip back on foot during the day if you are shopping and lunching in stow. Only a half hour drive to Blenheim palace and the wonderful Christmas lights and market there. They had put lovely little Christmas touches in the cottage even though it was only turning 1st Dec. The fire is tricky to keep going and we found we had to move the sofa round to watch tv which was quite heavy. We got used to the parking scenario but it’s quite a busy road during the times you’d be arriving and leaving so found we had to pull onto the path to load and unload before going to the long stay car park next to Tesco. These are all part of staying in an older cottage though and we bore them happily given the charm of the house.
- Roelof (8/5): Love the Cotswolds. - Location and coziness. Parking is not provided even though we specifically looked for a place which said parking provided. It is at least a street over through a walkway.
- Madeleine (10/5): Would stay again! - Fantastic location, well priced and very comfortable.
- Christine (8/5): Overall, great place to stay - Location was great. the renovations were well done - cottage kept its charm. Kitchen was well stocked. Beds were comfy. I am 5'8" ( about 173 cm). Anyone taller than me would have a very difficult time staying here. Stairs are treacherous, door ways are low, my head hit the ceiling in the shower.
In the listing they said free parking. Not quite. If you are VERY lucky, you can get free parking on the street or walk 10 minutes to a free parking lot. Otherwise, you are paying with lots of confusing rules.
- Jody (10/5): Fantastic location, lovely cottage and would definitely come back!! xx - Location was perfect, right in the centre of the village and it was just lovely The road noise when in the lounge - but it had been raining all day so that always amplifies things
- Christine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ben (9/5): Superb - Fantastic location and lovely decor. Very nice living space. Easy to park. Great value for money. Difficult to shower if you're tall, but fine for short stays. Mattress on main bed isn't the best (quite thin) but decent enough.
- Kathryn (10/5): Marvellous break in Cotswolds - Was a wonderfullly equipped cottage in superb location.
Easy to find - parking ok
Have to get used to stairs! There was nothing missing that we could have wanted for.
- Anton (10/5): Fantastic Experience All Round! - The quintessential cottage in one of the best locations on the Cotswolds! A vibrant town with a proud history, magical! Finding parking was a challenge (unless you left the vehicle at the long term parking at Tesco which was a fair walk to the cottage).
A security code for obtaining the keys to access the cottage had not been communicated effectively through the Booking.com app or through other means (such as email). We had to call the host for an access code and as there was very limited mobile reception at the cottage, this made the process rather stressful at the time.
- Pamela (9/5): Excellent stay. - Location was great with free parking nearby. Spiral stairs could be an issue for anyone with mobility issues but we were fine.
- John (9/5): Lovely home for a week in the Cotswolds - Quaint 1650 stone cottage thoughtfully updated. Understandably it shows its age mostly just in height
