Guest Reviews
- Stanilslav (10/5): Great location and nice place to stay - Great location and nice place to stay
Everything is fine, last time I was here there were no channels on TV, now there are.
2 minutes from the bus stop, 8 minutes' walk from the train (no, you can't hear it at night).
If you're driving or taking a taxi, you can get anywhere very quickly.
The room itself is clean and cozy. I haven't found anything like that for myself.
- Donna (7/5): Correspondence was good ..needs a good clean n revamp - Staff Room was worn ..needed a new base for bed n broken blind ..marks all on the walls

- Daniel (6/5): - The window was left open and I arrived late evening so the entire night it was very cold in the room. Also the beth room is very small couldn’t move without hitting something
- James (8/5): - It was simple and comfortable No TVk
- Sara (10/5): the conditions of the room and building exceed my expectations, very affordable price - very clean place, no noisy guests, the location is quiet, very easy to get in and out of the building and room, it was easy to communicate with the support team even though they are abroad, they never left us without an answer.....well done....I will return the car park, I was afraid to be fined to leave the car on the road we have to park. the wi-fi was constantly on and off, I wasn't able to communicate by video call with my client, I don't know if it's the location signal or if the wi-fi is not enough strong for all the guest to use at the same time.

- Rachael (9/5): - The room had everything you needed for a short stay, kettle and coffee etc, en suite bathroom and TV. Bed was comfy too. The stairs, we were in the attic room and the stairs were too much for my 80 year old mum. They were steep and narrow to carry the luggage up was a toughy.
- Brian (7/5): Stressful initial encounter could easily have been awarded. Otherwise quite satisfactory. - Location fine. short stroll from (Brierley) station and with an excellent local bus service on doorstep. All usual facilities available at an extraordinary low cost. The value was excellent. On day of departure from home, I was e-mailed a message with access codes (plural) to door of property, room (4) and shower unit (latter not required). Due to clear house numbering soon found and accessed property. However, endured 10 minutes of panic since codes listed as room access did not work, indeed could not given they featured letters for numeric only electronic pad. Tried phoning company but could not get through. Since 6.oopm fast approaching, rang again and left message. Subsequently discovered company had responded with e-mail to confirm room door responded to same code as house door, though at the time I only discovered this (to my immense relief) through trial and error! Original e-mail had NOT made this clear AT ALL! WHY NOT? It also only took me 40 minutes (again, more trial and error) to get access to BBC (Through i-player) on Television! Too sophisticated for its own good. Still, all's well that ends well!

- Ryan (3/5): Unhygienic - It was the cheapest option as I was on a budget On arrival my bed was wet and dirty from the velux window being left open. My towels were soaked and dirty I asked for replacements, despite getting a message on WhatsApp saying they would be replaced next day the towels never got replaced. Bathroom stank, fumes coming from either the shower drain or toilet.
Tea facilities were dirty and used.
- Ajmal (1/5): Not worth the money. Very smelly. - 1 star for location. - Smelt like stale cigarettes and weed. The cleaners tried to mask the smell but failed.
- Their policy is no onsite staff, and the locks on the doors require replacing. If any issues, especially after 10pm, you would receive no assistance, maybe the odd exception.
- Neil (8/5): Functional ,great value , good nights sleep it was bob on for the money . - One night stay was perfect , fish n chips from a nearby quality place , managed to park on the road outside no problem , the room was clean comfortable and safe . Well you are in Nelson so don’t expect Las Vegas but was ok
- Toni (6/5): Pleasant -
- Ian (7/5): Good -
- Abdul (8/5): Very good - Location. Cooking facilities. I didnt get hot water in kitchen for washing
- Jack (10/5): Exceptional - Stayed with you guys a couple times now, no issues what so ever, great value, clean, a place to get the head down when visiting the area on business. Would recommend. Thank you.
- Alexandru (1/5): Bad -
- Alexandru (10/5): Exceptional - It's very clean and very comfortable, have a kitchen that u can use washing machine and u have a great tv in u room so compare with other places it's best ! Nothing to say I didn't like!
- Hakan (10/5): Wonderful - It was awesome price was also good . Good location Mignight time heating was off for a short while
- Ali (10/5): Exceptional - Nice n clean, warm and smells nice Toilet sit wasn't on properly was out of place, hopefully cleaner will advice to get it fixed. Cheers
- Masud (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent location, comfort and free off road parking Staff was not contactable, no one answering the phone
Tried many times but no answer
Even booking .com customer services called them from their official number but still not answered
It’s only e mail communication
Booked in last minute and supposed to get a call from
Them fir 100£ deposit but no call received
So I tried myself to pay deposit but no luck and need the door key to get into the property
It was very stressful as no direct communication and phone number shared goes on answering after ringing , left voice messages but no replies
Then got e mail to pay deposit which I did and then got access door key on e mail
It’s very risky as No reception staff at property
If something goes wrong with door key or electronic locks no one is there to help and property management is not contactable by phone
- Olufemi (1/5): Bad - Nothing There was no bathroom to bath
- Karl (9/5): Superb -
- Rose (7/5): Good -
- Adul (7/5): Good - The host was friendly and the room was clean and cosy. Towels only once
- Shagufta (10/5): My stay at was comfortable and the hosts were always prompt in dealing with my responses - It was close to my family and friends and easy access to the shops Nothing applies
- Saleem (10/5): Very nice - Nice Good
- Jay (5/5): Good location - The room was nice with ensuite facility shower room is separate from the room which you need code for it. The kitchen was okky Too much food items in the fridge and needs cleaning and throwing lots of stuff. The house is on the main colne Road soo very busy and noisy outside which was not soo pleasant. I haven't still not received my £100 deposit from the landlord as of today 23Octc24 and left the room & bathroom tidy aswell l, they removed me from the wats app group chat soo no communication (should have removed me after my deposit been done and everything)
- Tracy (1/5): Diabolical - It has a number above the door. The garden was full of rubbish and the door pin given on confirmation didn’t work. I was a solo traveller left stranded as there was no reply from the landlord to my phone calls, so was unable to stay there, had to arrange alternative accommodation late at night. Only half of my money refunded, absolute scam.
- Russell (1/5): Bad -
- Ryan (3/5): Very bad don't go stay - There was people smoking crack and people who where staying there was getting escorts and some one want in the room a took my girlfriend expensive products we did report it bec there nothing where could oth done it wasn't clear and all the kitchen wasn't clean there was rotten food everywhere wasn't up to standard living conditions
- Aaron (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mountford (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (2/5): Very disappointing!! - Good communication regarding check in details etc. Bedroom and en-suite bathroom was clean, tidy and well provided with towels and tea/coffee facilities. The bed was only a three-quarter bed. To describe it as a ‘double-room’ assumes a double bed. This was not a double bed. It was at most a three-quarter and was uncomfortable for the two of us. (Not enough room causing lack of sleep.) It was in Room 1 at the front of the house, therefore noisy because of passing traffic from the main road. Avoid if you don’t like night and early morning noise and a cramped bed!
There was no bath mat. The room needs a fan.
We were supposed to be able to use a kitchen and a lounge-seating area with sofa and tv.
The kitchen was a disgrace, dirty work surfaces, piles of dishes etc. on the draining board, an overflowing waste bin, egg shells scattered on the floor - filthy and totally unusable. Whoever else was staying there was responsible for this, NOT US! We never saw anyone else. It remained in that condition from the moment we arrived until the day we left. I have photos.
The lounge area was also a mess, with drying washing hanging on a clothes horse plus iron and ironing board leaning against and over the table - impossible for us to use as a dining area!! I have photos.
I understand road noise not the fault of the owners. I realise maybe our fellow “guests” at Reedley House treated the place as their own with nil consideration for other guests.
I trust that whoever it was staying at Reedley House responsible for the chaos and mess described above will have their £100 security deposit taken from them!!
- Gillian (1/5): Bad -
- Chris (1/5): Bad - Nothing as didn't stay very rude on the phone would definitely stay clear No customer service skills and very rude
- Thomas (1/5): Never stay here - Nothing. A terrible experience with the property and the host.
The door lock was broken on one of the rooms and the other had been tampered with.
We phoned the host who was very rude and regularly accused us of just not using it correctly (they later confirmed that it was indeed broken).
Over an hour after reaching out to the host we had no one come to fix it and so went to book another place for the night and left. The host was again rude over the phone to us when we informed them of this and said that we would not be entitled to a refund.
They then didn’t contact us at all (likely in an attempt to keep the money). We sent messages to them and bookingdotcom to ask for a refund and they refused a full refund, stating that they had already paid their cleaners.
You get what you pay for with this property. Avoid at all cost as IS NOT SAFE and hosts are dishonest and aggressive.
Travel safe.
- Mian (1/5): Uncomfortable mattres got pain in my back after the night - Nothing wasn’t recommend anyone
- Maddie (4/5): Disappointing - Dirty marks on bedding, felt unclean and wouldn’t be staying again
- Cassandra (1/5): Awful - Smelled of cannabis, yellow mattresses, pubic hair in the fridge.
- El (10/5): Relaxing place - The area is very calm and the room was super clean.
- Cassandra (1/5): Bad -
- Cassandra (1/5): Bad -
- Tracy (4/5): Was just ok - Nice size house No proper pots and pans in kitchen, they were rusty and scratched .
The refrigerator was too small.
- Martin (2/5): Didn't get what I paid for - The electric entry Given the wrong room that I paid for. Room 4 is not a double. Tried to contact owners but still no reply. So I left a day early and found alternative accommodation at my own expense.
- Zsolt (10/5): Exceptional - everything :)
- Connor (6/5): Good - It was right look real clean Nothing really bad it I noticed that my lock door was stick and towel holder in bathroom held on by to screw part from that everything was okay
- Garry (4/5): Made do - Ok Booked twin rooms but there was only double rooms not really suitable for four males!!!!
- James (8/5): Very good -
- Riley (8/5): Very good -
- Ngoza (5/5): Overall, fair stay, I have underscored this property for difficulties into entry, no hot shower. - The house, particularly in the sitting room was very warm and cosy, kitchen very cold as top window was open which was ok. But the kitchen had a fridge, pots, plates spoons and most of kitchen utensils needed in a functioning home, I did really like that homely feel as one could cook whatever you liked.
And on street parking opposite the property was not very bad, not sure who it belonged to, but I was not ticketed.
There was free WiFi in the house which was easy to access and use. Entry to property was by digital numbers key, I could not initially enter property as an error message kept coming up, until another tennant came and opened the door, 20 minutes outside waiting. There was a video sent to me on how to input the numbers, that was not a problem, but the timing of pressing the door handle and how deep down the door handle should go to open the door.
So to collect the property key, one need to have very good internet on mobile so as to read details of the entry code. There was no owners of the property present, something that should have been communicated prior travel, and no communication to property owners after 18:00 hours, though they sent a what's app link to join a group and send messages there. An elderly person or those with limited internet might struggle to enter this property.
Bedroom was small, warmed up in minutes once the heating was on.
Duvet and pillow had no cover, was I to bring in my own duvet and pillow covers?.
Small shower room dedicated to my room was ok, though one could not bend to reach your toes if you wanted to scrub them, and the water was just luke warm, never reached hot at the maximum setting of 38 degrees. The small toilet and sink in my room was ok, again you have to strategise on how to bend over the small sink if wanting to brush your teeth in morning.
My room was facing the main road, wanting noisy due to constant traffic outside even when windows were shut.
There were televisions in living room and my room, but nothing was showing as not set up. So I missed news and weather focus for 2 days of my stays.
- Dawnandrewes (10/5): Fantastic - The owners were absolutely lovely and really couldn't do enough! Instructions were amazing and very easy to follow. Will definitely be back soon!! Nothing at all 😊
- Ami (8/5): Very good - There was no breakfast or extras. I liked that there was a kitchen though it looked like people lived there and the things belonged to others. The tv worked and I was able to watch a movie on someone else’s aNetflix account. That this was a boarding house (not a hotel or Airbnb).
- Ashleigh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Scott (1/5): It's not a traditional b an breakfast
Ppl are staying that are homeless and other similar stories - Nothing the TV wouldn't connect... To WiFi no TV to watch at all They haven't repaid my deposit
They said it would take upto 7 days... Or 7 hrs... Either way they haven't re paid it
- Michael (7/5): Good -
- Michael (7/5): Good -
- Sadia (2/5): I would never recommend this apartment. - N/A The way its shown on the pictures it’s totally different.booked for double bedroom but it was single. They ruined my wedding night. I have to leave next morning and went somewhere else. It was awful.
- Manz (10/5): Exceptional - Warm cozy and quiet obvs all brand new Nothing
- Magda (3/5): The bedroom door code lock was broken and anyone could enter it. No hot shower. - Clean room for a decent price. The bedroom door code lock was broken and anyone could enter it. No hot shower.
- Chinguwa (4/5): Disappointing - There was no heating system
- Cathy (5/5): Passable - **HIDDEN FEE**
We booked 2 rooms and they take £100 cleaning fee per room, which they say is fully refundable after your stay. However, they only returned £194 claiming that there was a 3% bank charge to return the money. This would only be the case if they are paying back using either a credit card or a foreign currency (neither of which should come at a cost to us, the customer). This put a real dampner on my feelings with regards to this stay.
The ensuite was very small (barely any room between the loo and the sink) and there were no hooks anywhere to hang towels or coats on the back of a door.
- Dony (7/5): Good -
- Shaun (10/5): Excellent and hosts thought of everything - Mattress was poor 😩
- Andreas (2/5): Very poor - Good value for money even for longer stays. Parking is available on the street. I stayed for more than a month in total. I was informed that the room would be cleaned every 14 days for long stays, but during the 18 nights I stayed in the first room, no cleaning was done. I changed room on the 6th of January to realize that there was hair on the pillow and the toilet was not cleaned.. During the Christmas period, the kitchen bin was not changed and the smell was unbearable. I contacted the owners on the whatsapp group who ignored me continuously for over a week, although the messages were read. This one is that deeply concerned me and that the whole idea is to run the place contactless via a whatsapp group, which in practice doesn't work. Food was stolen from the fridge, I didn't see any CCTV on the premises. The deposit was deducted due to bank fee, which hasn't happened to me before in other places. The list is not exhaustive, but perhaps what is needed here is a customer relations course.
- Colin (8/5): Great stay , very comfortable bed, quiet and met all needs - Clean , quiet , ideal for the price
- Anjana (10/5): Exceptional - The location was better than I expected, as well as being very close to transport so taking off to work was not a problem. Nothing
- Stanilslav (9/5): Good - Plus
Location
Shower
Great kitchen
Feedback from the customer service, TV - It was strange for me. This is the first time in my life that I have encountered this. Physically there is a TV, but there are no channels there
- Helen (5/5): Passable - Convent for visiting relatives Smell in kitchen living area
No bedside lamp
No hooks for coats
Leak in shower dirty window
Quilt not big enough bed couldn’t get in property had to contact owner
- Saima (9/5): Satisfied with the stay - The cleanliness and the communication with the host. Very understand and helpfull. Bedding and towels not changed in 7 days.
- Amna (1/5): Bad - Nothing all is bad
- Andy (9/5): Great for staying if you're on business or passing through - Quite small but very comfortable single room which was very clean and the en suite bathroom was excellent too. Good location for me & no problem with parking on the road. Would have liked TV channels on the Room TV as it's connected to the Internet but no coaxial input. However, I've been told by the owners that this was temporary & sorted now.
- Ian (4/5): Sadly wouldn’t stay again. - Clean and well presented. Keyless entry was awkward to use, took several attempts to open the door. Only half the number illuminated at first.
Mattress was uncomfortable, overly soft and felt lumpy.
Lock on room door was faulty. No code was needed to open the door. Had to take my personal belongings to the car whilst i was out of the property.
En-suite was to small. Not enough space between toilet and shower.
Property vibe felt like air b&b HMO.
