Guest Reviews
- Terence (9/5): -
- Theresa (7/5): Good for one night - Comfortable and clean Couldn’eat meals in room
- Goitom (4/5): -
- Lewis (7/5): -
- Dyson (9/5): -
- Anthony (9/5): - Central location, no problems parking, N/A
- Amanda (5/5): Ok for a last minute booking - hopefully not to be repeated - It was clean and we were met at the door by the host . The photo and description makes this sound much grander than it actually is.
It was surrounding a square where a number of homeless people slept.
We were charged £5 for a car park on waste ground where we parked for free last year staying in a different hotel.
The hotel was satisfactory but would not chose to go there again.
It was a last minute booking due to booked accommodation cancelling a few days earlier
- Julie (4/5): The host was lovely, very cheerful and friendly and so I hated putting this review, but I did feel that it was very poor - Position Room, although a budget room and we didn’t expect luxury, was soulless, more akin to a cell. No colour apart from a wall hanging of a beach and palm trees! Didn’t really work!
Double bed against the wall so had to climb over my husband to get up in the night to use the bathroom, three floors down.
Curtains were so thin we were awake very early due to the morning light.
Furniture cobbled together, not very pleasant.
Wouldn’t take much money to put a bit of colour on the walls, nice pictures and some better quality bedding, making the small room a bit cosier.
- Rhys (5/5): Passable -
- Hall (8/5): Very good - Very friendly and helpful owner, the room was tidy, and contained lots of information on activities and places to eat. Accommodation is across the road from the train station with everything in within walking distance, should you not drive. Being unable to eat in the room if you have a budget, booking
- Aisha (1/5): Horrible - Property is fine, where as the owner she puts on a complete& utter total show of “being the nice lady”. Property is fine, where as the owner she puts on a complete& utter total show of “being the nice lady”.
She shoved literally me & my 3 kids &baby out in the rain with no rain cover. She tried charging me £50! To have an extra 20 minutes to sort the kids out as we was FROZEN all night and morning. As there was no heating as I stated the night before but got ignored. She told me well as an adult u should know how to use a radiator everyone does? Which I stated I radiator was on 5 but u hadn’t set it to be on as explained in text back from herself. She shouted infront of kids and tried embarrassing myself. Also she tried saying she’s going to charge my card not agreeed?
- Barrie (7/5): A nice break - The landlady was so enthusiastic and made us feel so welcome A bit tired and dated, could do with money spent on it
- Freya (1/5): Abysmal stay - Its important to note that all of the activites mentioned on their booking.com advertisement are not available here. None of them are. We were looking forward to the spa and archery, and neither activity was anywhere near the site. Indeed, we never did find them in scarborough at all.
Parking even though you pay £5 a day is atrocious, yes there are 3 streets to choose from but they are all full, all of the time it was just by chance we got parked up on arrival and then after a day trip to whitby.when i arrived i rang to ask for a car parking spit and the woman claimed on the phone i didnt book, then she failed to hang up after saying she was coming out and i heard her and her husband moaning about it. Then, face to face, she said it was because she wasn't expecting me yet. Terrible customer service, i dont expect to be slagged off by the propriator.
The shower (no, it wasn't user error as suggested) runs from hot to cold no in between and then floods, meaning there's not enough time to wash, and wash your hair.
We were asked to put a handle note for the room to be serviced for clean towels (bedding change not mentioned), and it wasn't done. With nowhere to dry the towels effectively, so after a useless quick shower and strip wash, you have to use damp towels from the day before.
Unsuitable if you're disabled due to step into the ground floor and flights of stairs tp other rooms.
The bed was a cheap old mattress with a slab of foam (not memory foam it was more like insulation) very uncomfortable in a room that you could barely walk around the bed, i hit my legs on the bed numerous times. There's nowhere to put suit cases either.
Do yourself a favour. Go somewhere else. Absolute rip off for £90 a night. I've had better stays in £50 rooms
- Senait (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sophie (9/5): Superb - Close to station.
Tea coffee available
Lady who runs it very friendly Nothing.
- Paul (8/5): Very good - Comfortable, clean & an excellent location. The owner was extremely helpful & couldn't do enough for us. Fantastic weekend away 👌🏻
- Chloe (10/5): Thanks for looking after my family! My little boys is a lovely time and my father in law has had a lovely stay for his b - The owner was very friendly and kind welcoming.
Soon as we arrived she was prompt to get us to our property.
It was a last minute stay due to an unexpected visit to another hotel that was inadequate for my family to stay in. The owner sorted us out quickly and promptly.
The room was clean and tidy.
The bathroom is stunning..
my little boys slept really well in the bunk beds and really enjoyed their stay.
The double bed was clean and comfy, one of the comfiest beds we have slept in away from home.
Lovely little touches in the room, shower gels clean towels and amenities.
Hairdryer was a great idea as I had forgotten mine.
Lovely location and close to the beach. Nothing really it’s was a lovely stay. One thing I would say is a fan in the room would of been great but not necessary.
We sleep with a fan on at home l, the room was a little hot for us however we slept great.
- Amy (10/5): Great service and location - Brilliant location and really friendly staff. The room was really reasonably priced and just what we were looking for. The bed was really uncomfortable but the weather was so warm and I am 8 months pregnant which isn't the hotel's fault! I would definitely stay here again though.
- Jill (4/5): Basic accommodation in food location - Good location
Friendly welcome and assistance to room
Good value for money parking permit •Very basic accommodation for the price of £93.00
•Very early check out at 9.00am as parking permit only lasted till then
•No shower mat so bathroom floor was very wet once shower was used
- Nicola (10/5): Had a lovely relaxing weekend and spending quality time with my mum for her birthday celebrations - The personal touch and the owner was around and had good knowledge of the area and what was going on in and around Scarborough Nothing really
- Richard (6/5): Lovely welcome from Seb and perfectly ok for the 2 nights. - Location and it was quiet during the night. Bit like a multi occupant large house turned into bedsits.
- Jamie (10/5): A brilliant location run by two lovely people. Thank you so much!!! - The people who ran the Admiral were lovely and they made me feel so at home. I think this was in a great location and was worth it. The bathroom was separate to the room, so only an issue if one needed the toilet in the middle of the night. The bathroom was large and spacious, though.
- Van (2/5): Not a hotel -
- Brown (8/5): Very good -
- Allison (2/5): Avoid, book elsewhere - Booked this as states Admiral Hotel, this is NOT a hotel, it’s at best a guest house Very tired property in need of an overhaul. Rooms are cobbled together with what appears to be car boot buys. No hot water, we were told a child had run a bath all night, hence no hot water! Moved to another room with an electric shower, this sounded like it was taking off and kept cutting out mid shower, was told it was the fan making the noise, there was no fan but by this point we’d given up the will. Bathroom had no frosted glass but thankfully we were in the attic. Not the best area, lots of people drinking outside in the adjoining properties. Host refused to give us a refund, In short we’d never book here again.
- Carl (10/5): Exceptional -
- Steven (6/5): Small - Good location The bathroom was very small about 5 feet square struggled to use the shower very small
- Neil (9/5): SCARBADOS - Good location very helpful staff (seb)if i spelt her it right was wonderful.. Nothing it was all good.
- Richard (3/5): Poor -
- Matthew (6/5): A really good place to stay - No breakfast but not a breakfast person location good seb was great Nothing
- Jon (8/5): Very good - Location No blackout blinds in the room
- Fiona (8/5): Very good -
- Andrea (8/5): Very good -
- Steven (1/5): Awful - Nothing as we never stayed here The owner claimed to be a employee in first then said she was the business owner wasn’t aloud to take out pizza to our room for my kids to eat as was told it would make a mess to the bedding also wasn’t stated on the website there’s no lifts as we needed 1 as we have 1 kids in prams the the lady was really cold welcoming.
- Marcus (8/5): Had a great stay and the owners were very helpful and welcoming - Excellent location, clean and comfortable
- Tesfaisgy (1/5): Bad - I have paid for the hotel but I found it gets house which very bad should update their profile in google.
- Marcus (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stephen (9/5): Superb -
- Stuart (9/5): Superb -

- Dorothy (9/5): Lovely time at Scarbrough. Our host at the hotel was very helpful and kind🙂 -
- Amy (10/5): Exceptional - Everything about the stay. The hostess was really nice and helpful, she made me, my husband and children feel really safe and comfortable. The room and bathroom was nice and clean, It was a very pleasant stay. Nothing
- Jessie (10/5): Made our stay convenient - It was very accessible to train, bus and city centre. Seb welcomed us with such great warmth that made us feel safe and valued. I would definitely go back to Admiral, great stay.
- Yashfika (1/5): Pathetic - Location Basement room, no fan or air con, poor ventilation, small beds with dirty bed sheets, shower tap not working properly, hard towels, hand wash absolutely diluted soth water, no tea coffee, kitchen sink absolutely dirty, no tv remote and tv very small
- Mathchew (4/5): Disappointing -
- Liam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Allison (4/5): Disappointing - Beach was lovely Room wasnt as shown in booking bed base had been fixed with a piece of board, mattress you sank into the middle very uncomfortable , barely any room to at each side of the bed to move as room was small in need of a revamp, and room had a fusty smell when you walked in. The placed was advertised as an hotel anx its a B&B which you have to pay a surcharge for.breakfast, no food allowed in your room, no where to chill and relax, and also we got asked if we wanted a parking permit we said yes only to find when we arrived their was nowhere to park, and to be told by the owner we can park in the train statiom but we will have to pay out of our own pocket .then was told if we dont want them to come and make our room up put the dont disturb sign on door which i did , but they still came in our room on two occassions when we went out without asking us or is asking them to that is rude. Very dissappointing staff were friendly and polite.but would not stay there again or recommend
- Rishiraj (8/5): Very good - Close to town and walking distance to attractions. Parking
- Simon (6/5): Pleasant -
- Stuart (8/5): Very good -
- Steve (6/5): Pleasant -
- Steve (5/5): left to get on with it no staff think the owners run a chain of properties as only meet and greet - location no staff
- Leanne (4/5): Basic but would not return - Close to a local bar and not to far away from the sea front and main area On arrival not much lighting within the grounds.met by a young boy who opened the front door then I had to go find an adult to give details to to be then shown to our room which had a dirty toilet/ damp wall / no hot water on the Saturday morning.

- Nash (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anthony (2/5): Very poor - Accommodation was very basic. Needs more attention to the rooms. Bed was terribly uncomfortable.
