Guest Reviews
- Alan (10/5): We stayed for just Monday to Friday, we wished we’d booked for a fortnight! - EVERYTHING … it’s peace and quiet, and solitude Nothing
- Howard (8/5): - Has a problem with the static central heating system..moved us within the hour to a chalet In comparison with the static caravan (which was brand new)
The chalet was a bit dated..
BUT the sea views were amazing made up for the change...
- Fiona (8/5): Good value for money and a lovely spot . - The static we were in was clean and very well equipped . Nothing
- Derek (8/5): Batteries are charged again now back to work - The location was fantastic all the staff so helpful The double bed wasn’t the best otherwise the caravan was perfect
- Hargreaves (10/5): Really wonderful time away - Me and my partner had a wonderful time away at Burrowhead holiday village.
The staff were so kind, welcoming and caring - they rang to ensure that we were ok and wondering our arrival time so we knew where to pick the key up. They also kindly put the heating on to warm up the caravan for our arrival.
The Caravan was cosy and great - good cooking, sleeping and washing facilities. A nice full sized fridge freezer and hobs and an oven for cooking. Good bathroom and shower pressure.
They provide washing liquid, a sponge, hand soaps, cleaning sprays and wipes and bin liners. They also provided some tea, coffee and small milk cartons and biscuits - a really good touch as sometimes you forget to take the simple things on holiday.
There was a smart TV and WIFI so you can log in your normal streaming apps.
Also you can make calls to home with it as in our caravan you couldn't get phone signal for normal calls.
There is a shop in the reception and in the restaurant for your needs - almost like two small corner shops.
There is a restaurant with reasonably priced food with kind staff and a dining area. There is also a bar and entertainment room for when the caravan season is in full swing - die to us going early march there wasn't any entertainment but they had a mother's day special event on the Sunday.
Local area information - we went to Wigtown (30 ish mins drive) - known for it's range of book shops. It's a beautiful beautiful town with a CO-OP for your shopping needs and a corner shop selling alsorts next door. A fantastic pub for food .. we are both out lunches there at 'The Wigtown Ploughman' . We also went to the 'ReadingLasses' for a hot drink and cakes .. they also serve soup.
The town of Whithorn itself, we managed to get to the pub and speak to the landlords who used to live in Lancashire like us, they open Friday, Saturday and Sunday and it is a wonderful cosy welcoming pub - definitely recommend it.
- Derek (9/5): June the cook lovely woman made us lovely meals - Clean spacious
- Stuart (9/5): A relaxing time was had by all. Me! - I came here for a week and I spent eight weeks in the end.
Oh and I bought a holiday caravan on their site too!
I like the remote location and the peacefulness - heavy winds being on the coast not withstanding!
- Bryan (5/5): Although the staff were fantastic and the majority of families were too, unfortunately there were some that was very thr - It was a great sun trap and very comfortable Needed more details to the cleaning more due to dust on top of most units and other areas that can’t be seen to the naked eye.
- Stuart (9/5): - I would recommend this park to anyone wanting a peaceful retreat.
Great walking and cycling to be had too.
- Stuart (9/5): Another peaceful good value stay - I've booked here before and will book here again.
- Stuart (9/5): Enjoyable quiet stay - I have reviewed this park a number of times - in the main because I stayed for five weeks last year and have just booked in for another two weeks this year. I think that speaks for itself!
- Stuart (10/5): A peaceful time in a remote location. - I originally came for one week and stayed for five weeks - I think that says how much I liked it!
Probably is better if you have your own car - I came by bus and a near two mile walk to the camp itself! On several occasions staff provided me with a lift though. Additionally a few supermarkets delivered to the park.
I enjoyed the remote location though and I will also miss the cows and sheep in the fields that made up my living room view!
- Stuart (10/5): Would come again. - A peaceful location, clean, good value for money.
- Ian (8/5): Lovely remote site ideal for peace and quiet - Lovely modern clean static caravan in a lovely quiet location. Nothing
- Craig (9/5): Lovely family run caravan site which is very clean & highly maintained - Great location & great facilities 🙂 Nothing

- David (8/5): Friendly site on the lovely Dumfries and Galloway Coast - The Caravan was bright and clean and was good for my two day stopover during a week touring the Dumfries and Galloway coastline. Staff were friendly and welcoming and the facilities onsite were good.
- John (9/5): Heavenly peace and quite! - An immaculate park situated in a stunning location! Friendly staff. An oasis for the great outdoors. One single solitary thing was that the matress was for me and my back atrocious!

- Lauren (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (5/5): Passable - Lovely location. uncrowded site. The facilities were closed
- Kaitlin (10/5): BEST EXPERIENCE I HAVE HAD YET!!!!! - It was remote but yet so easy to access. No difficult or confusing layout of the park. The views WOW!! i have never seen such beauty in nature and visiting this place has shown me more than that. You can walk close to the cliff but safely and watch the sunsets as they are perfect. There’s too much to do in a few days so recommend more than 4 days! I just wanna say thank for making my experience so special!! The staff are lovely and leave you to do your own thing but yet so supportive if needed. For families or solos travel it’s a place where memories are formed in the most perfect and best way!!! 100% recommend and 100% will be back in the future!! Thank you :) Absolutely Nothing, If i had to be negative maybe the road coming in wasn’t in the best condition but it’s a road and accessed by many vehicles so it’s minor!!! It didn’t not impact my enjoyment of my stay one bit!!!!!!!
- Bruce (9/5): Superb - Excelent location with great staff Not much not to like9
- George (8/5): Very good - Location and walks Too dark on sight difficulty see how to get to entertainment and eating area.
Double bed mattress too soft personal preference I know.
- Stephen (9/5): Remote, but a great location, friendly and helpful staff, holiday caravan was excellent. - The location is superb, the site is quiet and my caravan has views of rollings fields and wildlife, the WiFi is great and worked well for my working Holliday.
- Wc (10/5): Exceptional -
- Steven (9/5): Great little site with a homely character and with plenty to keep all the family entertained. Given it’s a small site th - Caravan was really clean, modern but cozy, comfortable and had everything you need, in a great private location. Not that I am dependent on WiFi when away, WiFi wasn’t working on the first day. Which just so happened to be on a day we particularly needed access to WiFi for communication as phone signal in the area (given its secluded location) was poor. I presume this was a result of bad local weather, which of course is no fault of the site or property and which was quickly restored. Although there was plenty of storage for clothing, food, utensils and appliances etc, I feel like a few extra coat hooks on the back of doors or wardrobe doors would be really useful. Especially in as we experienced a lot of wind/rain.
- Mark (9/5): Superb - Lovely well run site, beautiful location Don't suppose I can blame you for the weather ?
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mapolisa (8/5): It was overally it was a lovely experience. - Place was very clean It would have been more helpful to have extra plastic disposable bins inhouse.
- Izabela (7/5): Nice place but should be better cleaning - We liked views, quiet and people Bedding was smelling very bad. Everywhere was hair.
- Andrew (10/5): Great place to stay fantastic location been going every year since 2006 - Great location
- Ashley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Charlotte (10/5): Stunning views, lovey people, great food - Stunning views, lovely food, great bar with lovey people. Internet around the park, which was amazing as I could send the photos I took to my family. Although the photos couldn’t do it justice! Staff were lovely and welcoming I cannot wait to go back! The weather on a few of the days was not great but we got lucky the sun did shine eventually!
- Peter (9/5): Superb -
- Stephen (1/5): stay away - nothing place was deserted nothing on the site was open staff we’re hopeless don’t go near it
- Grace (10/5): Honest opinion - Beautiful setting.Road needs a bit of resurfacing This caravan park advertised large outdoor pool indoor plunge pool sauna etc.
Easter weekend would have been the prime time to have everything up and running for Easter.
I was disappointed as nothing was ready or open.
Soft play area not clean.
Easter Saturday for children was canceled.
Looked as if the site was short staffed as Friday night was busy for bingo and only one staff member on.
Hall next to bar area freezing as doors were left open.We had to keep our coats on.
My honest opinion of this site is that it is well kept. Caravans are well spaced out.
Entertainment part needs revamping.
- Derek (7/5): Good - The caravan was spotless and very comfortable No phone service in this area and Wi-Fi was down but guy fixing it had a family emergency so hopefully it’s sorted now
- Bacanskas (8/5): Very good -
- Ray (7/5): Overall, would definitely recommend - Caravan was beautifully presented and largely very clean. Toilet seat lose anc dirty frying pan and pots had been put back in cupboard by previous guests (presumably).
- Melanie (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful site very quiet fab views and lovely van Nothing
