Guest Reviews
- Nia (9/5): Work break - Decor was fab . Food on Monday and Wednesday night was excellent. Very poor wi fi signal and I needed it for work wasa big minus.
Food on Tuesday was very disappointing - not the same chef as Monday and Wednesday we later found out.
- Walker (9/5): -
- Richard (10/5): - Comfortable and happy
- jon (9/5): nice hotel comfy room ,great views , - great views of mountains . if u suffer from insomnia ,lots of sheep to count! good parking. nice room too many cushions!
- Owen (5/5): If you love B&M interiors this is the place for you - It was clean and a convenient location Interior is a like a b&m nightmare…so much cheap polyester if you’d lit a match the whole place would’ve gone up in flames in a second
- Alun (7/5): - Location, good food, friendly staff.
- Robin (7/5): -
- Ronnie (9/5): -
- Tabita (10/5): -
- Chloe (10/5): Perfect! Warm and friendly - Clean, warm, friendly, welcoming. Perfect! Nothing!
- Stuart (9/5): - Excellent and friendly staff. Great evening in the bar with live music.
- Robert (8/5): Welcoming Pub with Good Food - The food both at dinner and breakfast (both choice and quality) was very good. The breakfast is at extra cost but that's fine as the room only price was very competitive and the extensive breakfast menu allows you to order (and so only pay for) exactly what you want. -
- Morgan (9/5): Excellent as always.Comfy bed, great beer and food. Very nice staff. - I have stayed here before and it is very good.
I ate in the restaurant which is really excellent and fantastic value for money.
Very noice staff. As on my previous visit -which I reported. ~The two wall -fixed containers for body and shampoo situated inside the shower were again empty. This means you get undressed, you put the shower on,you get inside the shower and get wet all over. You reach for the shampoo/body get to realise they empty. So....you stop the shower, you get out (dripping wet) and reach for the container of soap/shampoo situated on the sink! You then retrace your steps back into the shower. The two fixed empty containers should say "Empty, please use soap by sink" -or better still, remove them if not in use!
- Wilkinson (10/5): A great place, great room and great value. - Really beautiful location. Spotless room and super comfortable bed. Highly recommend. Nothing
- Claire (9/5): Fantastic pub with fantastic views (see the photos) and it has a free car park. Loved it there. - It was a brilliant location. The staff were exceptionally friendly and the pub itself was lovely. The room itself was also great! The room was was up three flights of stairs. It wasn’t much of a problem for us (although my husband was drumming with his band at the Magic Lantern so we had to cart a lot of the gear up those stairs!) but I should imagine it could be for others.
- George (10/5): -
- Abigail (9/5): -
- Jan (9/5): Absolutely brilliant, great staff and excellent pub menu and breakfast - Obviously recently updated so a lovely mix of traditional but updated decor. Lovely beer garden. Only one thing, heavy sheets

- wendy (10/5): Fabulous can’t wait to go again - Everything
Location , atmosphere , rooms
Friendly staff

- Andrew (9/5): - The rooms were clean and tidy and decorated nicely. Good size room and bathroom. Nice comfy bed too. Due to the area phone reception was poor but there was WiFi in the hotel. Getting some food was a bit difficult. They stopped servi g food around 8 pm and although there are takeaways close by they don't deliver so had to drive into local town to collect food.
- spencer (10/5): - Location,,great food and drink, great staff.ckean comfortable room's N/A
- Louise (10/5): What a find! 😃 - What a great find. Down in Tywyn on business. Booked and arrived 10 mins later. Lovely homely pub, taken straight to our room. Comfy bed, all you could need
Ate dinner in the pub, great food. Friendly and polite staff a great stay. We will be back for sure. Nothing its great
- David (8/5): Cushion overload - Good food. Nice location. Counted 4 pillows and 7 cushions on my bed. Pubs/hotels need to stop with this ridiculous craze.
- Steve (10/5): Superb and great value - Everything Nothing
- Lane (8/5): Very relaxed, friendly atmosphere, Excellent food and comfortable bed. - Very welcoming, Everyone came across as cheerful and appeared to enjoy interaction with each other and with customers/guests making for a great atmosphere. The food was excellent with a varied and comprehensive menu. The room was in good order, A little smaller than i am used to but perfectly suitable and appropriate for the type of property. I was unable to sample breakfast as i had to be at other locations before breakfast began serving. however i expect it to have been of the same high standard as the rest of the meals. I had no success accessing Wifi within my room, (although it appeared to be available) however, the owner informed me that it was possible to log in downstairs which would then be accessible throughout the building. I chose not to due to the short amount of time that i would be spending there.
- Gill (7/5): Just the right location between Tywyn and Llanegryn for both the events I was attending. - Full welsh breakfast, freshly cooked to order.
Meal the night before was excellent pub food.
It was very quiet and views of the hills and sheep. Having to plug in the electric radiator to take the chill off the room.
Not being able to get the electric shower to warm up.
- Ivan (9/5): Will be back. - Friendly hotel that met my needs. Nice room, good food and drinks. Excellent value. Would have liked a bedside light.
- Jeff (9/5): - Friendly staff Top cover on bed was not clean
- Aaron (9/5): -
- Amanda (8/5): -
- Tracy (6/5): Our stay was lovely but the little details let it down a little. Overall okay though. - The breakfast was amazing. The room design was upmarket. The staff were friendly and helpful. My partner put his hat on top of the wardrobe and it got covered in dust, and the wardrobe doors wouldn't stay shut. One of the bedside lamps didn't work. The fan in the bathroom was very noisy. No body wash in the shower dispenser and the toilet seat broke.
- Holly (8/5): Clean and comfortable. - Amazing food, very clean, accommodating staff, express check out, great decor and fun local pub atmosphere Multiple stairs to room but good railings
- GRAHAM (9/5): - STAFF AND FACILITIES WERE GOOD
- James (10/5): very good, bar very friendly and would stay when visiting the area again, - Breakfast very good, good location. nothing
- spencer (10/5): great location, great freindl staff. - plenty of choice for breakfast, perfect location. nothing, everything was great
- Craig (9/5): - Fanatic friendly location and staff
- Paul (6/5): - Location and the pub atmosphere and food very good Attention to detail lacking in cleanliness, particularly shower.
Couldn’t get hot water, they did come and rectify but needs updating
- PRITRAJ (1/5): Poor - Damp and cold room, no proper radiators, sink tap difficult to use and no breakfast served in the morning due to the staff being hungover!
- Lindsay (8/5): Itching to review - Lovely design of all rooms. The window is lovely, you can sit there and dream. (they should put seat pads there) Nice pleasant surrounding mountains, peaceful. Lovely staff who went beyond helping out & feeding me well.... Out in the sticks so no shops about and the restaurant in the pub is only place to get food (which was very nice)
B-Itchiness once back was turned 🙄😳🤔😩
- Peter (8/5): Nice hotel and restaurant - Nice size rooms , Good Breakfast. Very good restaurant and I was served a cracking pint of Worthy. I prefer cotton to the silk/satin bedding
- Julian (10/5): Will definitely stay again - Very well presented Loads of parking ,very nice room ,friendly staff
- Andrew (8/5): - Good choice of breakfasr A few too many stairs
- Amery (8/5): - The close location to Tywyn was ideal for us. Room very comfortable with everything you could need.
- ROGER (5/5): cold - It could be warmer; the main door was left wide open all night, so it was very cold
Additionally, there was a pervasive smell of fried food throughout, emanating from the downstairs pub.
This must have been why the main door was left wide open all day and night
- martin (8/5): -
- Ayshea (8/5): Short stay, comfortable and welcoming - Familiar with it as stayed there before
- Julius (10/5): - Lovely pub with rooms upstairs.Room is big enough and stylish.Good size bed and very comfy.Would definitely stay again.
- May (9/5): Great hotel for a short visit - Location, restaurant, bar and room nothing
- barlow (7/5): - Nice room The outside staircase to reach the room which was on the second floor.
No
- Wendy (9/5): Friendly staff and lovely quiet sleep - It’s location in the countryside Shower leaks onto the floor in room 1
Needs sealant
- Chris (8/5): I was well pleased that my stay worked out a planned - There were a couple of snags in Room 2 Although I I did not ask for urgent addition I Got the staff to write them down so they could be followed up
- Lyz (8/5): Ideal for what I wanted to do which was to visit the nearby waterfall. - Furnishings, decor, colours and textures
- David (8/5): -
- Lesley (7/5): - Friendly staff, helpful
Lovely outdoor seating when weather is good Access to rooms is outside via metal stairs🤨
Room comfy, fine for our purpose.
Maybe ditch some cushions.
- Anthony (10/5): -

- Edward (10/5): -
- SHAUN (10/5): -
- nick (7/5): -
- martin (8/5): -
- Ian (6/5): Nice view, comfortable room and good value meal / drinks. Bad access to bedroom - comfortable room and good value access to our room poor and no prior indication of only stair access.
- Andreas (9/5): Sehr gute unterkunft mit sehr guten Essen - Nettes Zimmer, sehr freundliches Personal, netter Pub mit sehr gutem Essen Frühstückbestellung nicht ganz selbsterklärend
- Carl (8/5): -
- Antony (10/5): Really nice overnight - Very nice rooms, breakfast (extra not priced with the room) in the morning was fantastic, good selection to chose from.
- Dal Molin (9/5): -
- kenneth (7/5): -
- Jenny (7/5): -
- CHRIS (9/5): Overall very good stay. - A friendly hotel/pub. Fantastic food and exceptional value for money. The shower needs better soaps/shampoos etc
- Alison (8/5): Very individually styled but great spot. - Very reasonable, also very reasonable food and drinks which were good quality too. Great location. It's a very individually styled place, not necessarily to everyone's taste. Shame the rooms can't be accessed from inside instead of needing a metal fire escape.
- Paul (3/5): Recommend you avoid this place - Location suitable for touring the area Poor customer service with Indifferent staff. Tired budget bedroom accommodation - urgently in need of attention. Smelly and mouldy bathroom. Over an hour wait for food without any explanation or apology for the delay. When the food arrived the meat was tougher than old boots, and the steak was not cooked as requested! Tasted like it had spent too long in the microwave, definitely not fresh! Noticed other dinners complaining to no avail - inexperienced young smelly staff unable to deal with the situation.
- Richard (8/5): -
- SARAH (8/5): - Easy access and good breakfast
- Stuart (9/5): -
- clare (10/5): Great value with a wonderful pub restaurant - Lovely staff, great food and great value
- Marie (10/5): - Everything was perfect ,staff excellent, rooms comfy and very clean entertainment and. Atmosphere in the bar was brilliant we will be booking again thank you
- Rebecca (9/5): -
- Michelle (9/5): Excellent value for money, very comfortable stay in a beautiful setting - A little gem in a beautiful area. Rooms beautifully decorated & well stocked. Menu had plenty of choices of usual pub grub, excellent quality, plenty of food & very reasonable priced. Would definitely recommend & hope to visit again soon. Nothing bad to say
- Todd (9/5): Highly recommend - Quiet when in room. The food was good quality and plentiful. The porridge and Welsh honey at breakfast was amazing.. Had breakfast and evening meal and both were really good. Rooms were good value. Hotel was busy and was difficult on one day to find a parking spot.. Maybe a designated area for hotel guests as lots were taken by people coming to the restaurant.
- Michael (10/5): Worth a visit for the food alone. - Friendly staff, room was comfortable, food was great. No complaints whatsoever. Sealant around shower cubicle could do with replacement.
- Helen (8/5): Comfy stay in Bryncrug - Comfy room. Friendly staff. A few noisy revellers in the Beer Garden who didn't want to go home!
- frilly (10/5): -
- Mark (10/5): -
- irvine (7/5): -
- Rhian (9/5): - Absolutely stunning location and the staff were all brilliant too. We ate there the evening we stayed snd its clearly a very popular local pub as ut was very busy!. Food was delicious and worth waiting for! Bed was a little on the worn side so not the most comfortable but still a lovely room would recommend removing the sequined pillows though 😀)
- Joyce (10/5): -
- Edward (8/5): -
- Gary (9/5): 10/10 would highly recommend it - Excellent bedroom lovely view, clean and comfortable The staff were extremely helpful and polite at all times
- Paul (8/5): - Entertainment on Friday night ,food ,staff
- Peggy (8/5): A very comfortable stay on my own - Had granola and yogurt, so didn't have cooked breakfast. A really lovely little hotel. Very comfortable, good shower and coffee and tea facilities and quality towels. Good parking and liked atmosphere. Secure key for door. Would liked to have had an evening meal, but spent evening with friends. Would stay again, really good value and friendly people. Liked being able to open windows and felt safe. Needed a lighter duvet for summer. The steps were outside to climb to rooms, and then a few more inside. Maybe should have stated this, or i should have asked, as I do have knee problems, but could still manage. I needed WiFi to get BBC , but didnt bother for so short a stay.
