- Cramer (3/5): - Found an old cigaret in my room
- Burling (8/5): Very good, great value for price, top location and very friendly and helpful staff. - Always a pleasure to step back in time and stay in such a beautiful old Hotel. Great location and facilities and the Hotel itslef has good priced berr and great meals. A bit disappointed to be put in a back room overlooking the outdoor deck area, thank goodness it wasn't a busy night. Last time I stayed at the Heritage we had exactly the same layout room (bunk beds) that led onto the verandah, and I know the hotel accommodation wan't that busy that night. I'll know to ask next time.
- Oscar Newman (2/5): - Location. Heritage architecture. Room not available. No ensuite. Had no sleep due to club and bars downstairs
- Roland King (9/5): All good - The staff is really good The tv was not working well
- Nathan (8/5): Rocky Stayz - Fantastic location and it's a classic old pub.. what's not to like. It's a classic old pub-old being the word.
- Michael Scheper (6/5): Pretty average, even for a pub hotel, but great location - Right on the river, close to everything, pretty much the nicest part of town. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. Room was pretty spacious. No wifi, although the city wifi wasn't bad. The balcony was shared and some other guests smoked nicotine outside our door. We couldn't actually see through the windows. And while it's a 130-year-old pub hotel, I still hoped the sink and carpet not to be older than me.

It Aldo had a Microwave which was very handy and a Balcony with a Beautiful view overlooking the River. And lovely cold Aircon. There wasn’t anything we didn’t like.
- MrLittltok (6/5): - The balcony The lack of empathy by there female manager
I arrived from doing nightshift n hour earlier n wasn't allowed to use the room eventhough its was empty and ready.
Fell asleep on the bar waiting
Whats the big deal
Its was empty n ready and i was only an hour early.

- Vickie (7/5): Apart from dimly light stairs and hallways. The accomodation was in a great location. - Location, staff and facilities Lighting on stairwell & upstairs is poor. Could be brighter especially for older patrons.
Room had damaged walls and remote on tv didn’t work. Would be nice to have water provided for kettle. Complimentary water is everywhere I have stayed but obviously not here.
- Cheryl (8/5): All I can say was the staff was so good and very helpful - It was clean and tidy, the bathroom was nice and clean could be better water pressure was not good. There was so much history in the old pup
- Nerida (7/5): - The friendly helpful personality of Jack who carried our bags up 4 flights of stairs and made sure we looked after On a cess to water in the room
- Ashley (2/5): Very poor but saved by the location - Breakfast was a take away coffee The shower head in one of the showers was broken and no soap and was the same the second day, obviously no system of checking the facilities is in place
- Bibiana (3/5): Won’t be staying there again but will eat there food is great and so are bar staff - Staff and food Dirty cups and floors in room not clean out side looks like it hasn’t been moped in months
Drug up people on both sides of me yelling and screaming till 11pm fighting with their partner over the phone. Running back and forth on the balcony slamming doors till all hours. Couldn’t go on the balcony with out being approached or someone asking me for smokes ect …
- Darren (1/5): The worst experience I have ever had at any hotel anywhere... - The food was good! The bathroom hadn't been cleaned at all. Pubic hair all over the shower floor, urine on the floor around the toiled and also under the toilet seat. No toilet paper supplied, just an empty roll. Shower drain was blocked so when I turned the shower on the water couldn't drain and then started coming out from behind the toilet all over the floor. A Cockroach then floated up out of the shower drain to top it all off. When I originally went downstairs and told them about the bathroom and to get toilet paper, the man said they would give me a free dinner and drink due to the room not being cleaned. When I went back down 30 mins later he was gone and no one else knew about this offer, so I had to pay full price for the dinner and drink anyway. I don't know if I had the unluckiest stay ever, but this place was a disaster. If someone had just made the effort to phone me, I probably wouldn't have written this review, but they're clearly not even interested.
- MrLittltok (10/5): - Bloody leaving my watch behind lol
Hopefully still there in a week when i loop back round.lol
- Davis (7/5): Enjoyable. - Position and views. The initial key pass didn’t work
- Mason (5/5): - Cheap and pub downstairs There was no kitchen so we had to go out to get food. wasn’t the cleanest.
- Mahlee (4/5): - The old architecture if the building. Bed bugs...

- Earl (7/5): ok - Staff were helpful, positive
- Jacki (7/5): -
- Lachlan (1/5): Bitter taste - Nice building I couldn't access the building after checking in and going out for drinks. I had to sleep in my car intoxicated.
I have received zero help. No refund, no calls
- Julie (5/5): Had better stays - Location..great
Balcony was good 1 No mention that there isn't a lift..suitcase up and down 2 full flights of stairs was awful
2 batrionvwas appallingly filthy..mouldy shower..filthy sink..coachroaches at 2 am
3 there is no light switch inside the bedroom or any bedside lamps.. you have to turn the lights out from the other room..then fumble your way to bed. Recipe for disaster..I'm sure my shin will recover.
4 furniture was unclean.. bucket seats stained
- Short (4/5): Fair but good - No breakfast Tv didn't work in room
- White (1/5): Whatever you do they are the rudest arrogant staff ever, don't ask for any money back lol - Didn't like anything. Everything
- walter (6/5): - Not much Shared bathrooms
- Memmott (1/5): - We were given free drinks because our room wasn't ready at 3pm even though we arrived after 4pm. The room was disgusting. Nothing was clean. I had to put dishes away. I have photos of the bathroom floor and shower, which had hair and dirt everywhere. Bedroom floors weren't vacuumed. I will never stay here again.
- Stephen (5/5): -
- Joe (10/5): - Location. Balcony
- Michael (1/5): Most vile horrid hotel ever - Cancelling 2nd night and going somewhere else Took long time to get checked in by bartender. Stairs/hall carpets filthy. Bathroom was like a horrid service station bathroom. Furniture broken and carpet worn thru in room. Used glasses and full ashtray on room balcony. Only public street parking.
- Melissa (1/5): -
- Jonathan (5/5): -
- Paul (6/5): -
- Matthew (7/5): It u want cheap bed to stay a night. It’s quite and simple - Clean and easy access to pub Soap and toilet paper were low .may went to get staff to check before opening there enough
- Steve (2/5): Basic and basically very disappointing - Arrived a little early in 39 degree temp and made to wait until 3pm to check in. Room located on 3rd floor with only stairs no lift. Ensuite facility was tiny and dirty sink with no toiletries supplied except hand wash pump on wall. No towel rails to hang wet towels on. Carpet threadbare didn't look as if been vacuumed as found battery and cigarette filter when we moved a chair. No cold water in fridge, no milk, no teaspoon, no glasses. No light switch in sleeping area, located on the wall in the other room. Don't be fooled with the room photo on their website under accommodation ... there is no such room ...

- Janet (1/5): YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED - STAY AT YOUR OWN RISK! - Great location for city and view Staff sick and working, Food not as advertised , 45 stairs, Niteclub next door, Iced Freezer, No basic Room Items, No mirror in room, Shared bathroom facilities - no soap or toilet paper.
- Tahlia (3/5): -
- Chelsea (6/5): I loved the experience of a pub stay and at a basic level it was great however it was not clean. - Being close to the river was great, the layout and space was fantastic for our needs. the local noise on Friday evening was overwhelming but expected (bring earplugs) but the general cleanliness (bathroom and kitchen) was challenging
- Spowart (8/5): Happy enough. Need to get a lift for older guests - Very attractive old hotel
Close enough to sights
Food great Unfortunately too many stairs
The room did not have cups and teaspoons for hot beverages
- Craig (2/5): - We expected off road parking but there was none. Requested money back, but no contact after 3+ days.very poor communication
- Paraka (4/5): Disappointed - Location was ok food & beverages was good too.
Staff were helpful but referred me to action refund through Booking.com The room I booked wasn’t cleaned from previous stay and was forgotten about after paid in full days prior.
I needed an ensuite room as I have a health concern that requires immediate access to facilities.
Was told to access a full refund through here and a standard room with shared facilities was provided by the hotel which unfortunately fell a bit short in way of ventilation and safety. Also No refund?
- Liz (2/5): - Dirty. Poor maintenance. The room we booked was not ready-still dirty and we were downgraded to a non ensuite room, much smaller and no refund. Staff didn’t know how to check us in or handle our complaints.
Have stayed here before as the location is good but will never stay again.
- Saunders (8/5): Would stay again and they do banging coffee in the morning. - Position and value specials at Dinner time, all round Choice pub/motel No bathroom in room communial
- Paul (3/5): -
- Tania (9/5): -
- Michael (8/5): Well priced and an excellent river side location steps away from the city centre. - I chose this accommodation for the price and location. It was a winner in both regards. Check in at the main bar required a bit of a wait as there was just one person working there. She was however incredibly pleasant and calm to all and attended to customers in order. I had a balcony room with a bed, refrigerator, tea/coffee and a kettle. Bathroom facilities were shared and I never had to wait to use the showers or toilets. Both the room and ablutions areas were clean. Yes there was some wear and tear, however the 127 year old building had that kind of charm where it seemed appropriate.
The aircon worked and kept the night and morning chill at bay. I didn’t mind the stair climb to the top level though it might pose a problem for those who are less nimble, just something to keep in mind. The only issue I encountered was that the balcony double doors allowed outside air to freely flow in through the gap under the door. While a good thing to have ventilation, there was a chain smoking guest next door who lit up late at night and in the very early hours, filling my room with second hand smoke every time he did so. I was not going to put my towel on the floor to block the gap and had nothing else to use to stop the airflow.
Reading past reviews it seems this has been encountered by others…not the fault of the hotel, but something to bear in mind due to the layout of the veranda and rooms. If other guests were non smokers the problem would not have arisen.
- Total Insulation (QLD) (5/5): - Booking.com had double booked which was frustrating we had to pay a lot more for such short notice accommodation in a town whose accommodation is already quite highly expensive. Still awaiting to be reimbursed the $106 extra per night we had to fork out. If this had been dealt with in a more timely manner this wouldn't have been such an issue.
- Tania (9/5): Homely in Rockhampton - Great location, classic hotel, big room The room is a little dated, but to be expected in a historic hotel.
- Roland (5/5): good - the location the bed is noisy
- Mac (10/5): Exceptional - Balcony and the food service
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- Johnny87 (4/5): Did not meet any expectations - My bin in my room was still full of rubbish when I checked in and found my room. I didn’t realise the rooms didn’t have a bathroom or toilet. Was in the furtherest room from the showers / toilets.
3 flights of stairs with an extremely heavy bag was a mission, ended up grabbing clothes out for the next day once I was settled and took my bag to the car.
Went down stairs for dinner and got the loaded fries. Semi cold, not much flavour, cheese and gravy were minimal at best. this could have really picked up my overall thoughts on the stay but it was a letdown for sure.
Ended up leaving at 2:30am as I kept hearing the floor creek and the door open and shut into the dorm like hallway / rooms so hardly got any sleep before my 12hr drive that day after driving 12hrs the previous day.
- Janetmary (3/5): Staff were friendly & hospitable. Having had heart surgery & treatment for lung cancer I wasn’t up to the stairs - No towel in room or teaspoon for stirring coffee $145 too expensive when if I’d booked earlier I could have had a room with a spa bath at the Criterion Hotel & not a shared bathroom.
- Jermaine (4/5): Disappointing -
- John (3/5): Poor -
- Murgha (4/5): Disappointing - The balcony The rooms and was no lighting in my room the milk was curdled power points
- Donna (3/5): Poor - The location was great, tv didn’t work, turned off the light and fan, then it wouldn’t turn back on so sat in the dark so just went to bed. Tv didn’t work, only had sound but no picture, turned the light and fan off then didn’t turn back on when I tried, so sat in the dark so just went to bed,
- Tegan (5/5): Passable -
- Nate (6/5): Pleasant - Great location and nice bar No Wi-Fi!
The milk in the room clearly hasn't been changed for a while and was chunky
- Connor (8/5): Very good -
- Gerard (5/5): Passable - Nice old building Noise. Pub finished about midnight, council started cleaning 430am
- Gallard (5/5): Great location with adequate accommodation and meals - The location was very good and close to shops, other pubs, night clubs and restaurants. It is a lovely old Australian pub with gorgeous wrought iron verandahs. The staff were very friendly and helpful. With all rooms on the 2nd floor, there is no lift making it a bit of struggle for older clients with baggage. There is no WiFi at all and while we had a small ensuite, a number of rooms only have a shared toilet and bathroom. The onsite restaurant has OK standard pub fare meals but nothing that was particular enticing for people looking for a bit more variation in the meals that are available. While relatively in-expensive, we have had plenty of pub stays that were less money for better amenities.
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Michael (4/5): Disappointing -
- Audie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (6/5): Pleasant - No comments
- Cindy (7/5): Good -
- Alex (6/5): Pleasant - Good location Noisy location
- Sally (5/5): Passable - Lovely historic building and very nice staff but tired interior decor, very poor kitchenette facilities ,the saucepans needed to be binned! No air-conditioning in second bedroom and very hot at night.
- Jermaine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carmen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Natasha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anderson (7/5): Good - Was a quick and easy transaction and staff were accommodating with an early check in Twice I've stayed, and twice I've booked a room with a balcony and twice I did not get a room with a balcony
- Tracey (5/5): Passable -
- Carmen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shaw (9/5): Very clean and comfortable. - The location was good and close to everything. Have stayed there before. Stayed at Dennison boutique the night before very disappointing Have stayed there before too. Not worth the money. Nothing really.
- Brock (7/5): Good - The location The shared bathroom
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Carmen (9/5): Superb -
- Gavin (4/5): No sleep - Evening meal People smoking upstairs in accommodations
Excessive noise from patrons & car’s doing burnouts & racing all night long 👹
- Ashley (6/5): It could’ve been better - It’s right in the middle of Rockhampton. There’s a restaurant downstairs which the food is great. There’s stores and restaurants down the road walking distance. The room was dirty and hadn’t been cleaned from the previous guest/s. Walking up 3 flights of steps with heavy luggage is a bit annoying.
- Carmen (6/5): Pleasant -
- Geoffrey (3/5): Disappointed. - I had a Room with a Balcony. I booked a Double Room. I got a Room with 2 Bunks. I paid for a Double Room. The Hotel was not at Fault.
Booking.com should not have let me book a Double Room coz they had Events there & was told they were all booked out with the Double Rooms.
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional -
