- Margaret (10/5): - Perfect house 🏠
Lovely garden 😀
The host was excellent 👌 would be happy to stay again 😀
- Michael (9/5): A Place in Portstewart - Lovely home. Spacious. Location was perfect for visiting our friends. Some of the instructions need updated or clarified. Location of washing machine and the fact that there is no dishwasher.
- Susan (8/5): -
- Pearl (10/5): A very enjoyable warm and cosy stay for a girls catch up. - We were very warm and cozy as it was during a stormy weekend. The house was easily heated and we had a great girls catch up. Near to great restaurants which we drove to and Beautiful seaside walks in the wind. Missed a little table in the lounge to put a glass of wine on and a bedside table to hold a glass of water.
- Dawne (10/5): -
- stephen (10/5): Coastal Heaven!! - Great place. Loved it. Location spot on too.
Warm clean and we'll equipped. Nothing.
- Sinead (10/5): -
- Miriam (10/5): - It was in great location to the town and beach My husband would have liked black out blinds in bedroom 🤣
- Christine (8/5): Homely and cheerful .. has everything we needed .. back garden was lovely and private - Private but handy for beach The front room settee not supportive .. could do with a new more sturdy settee
- Hannah (9/5): - Pet-friendly with a small, secure back garden.
There was plenty of space for two adults + a dog.
Quiet area and comfortable beds - perfect for getting a good sleep.
Patrick (host) was friendly and easy to get in touch with.
Good shower in bathroom. /
- Peter (8/5): -
- Rachael (10/5): Perfect, relaxing break - could stay forever. - Cosy haven near the sea. Really enjoyed our stay with our dog Shadow. We walked to the Strand and back several times and it is a lovely walk. The fire is perfect to relax beside and very comfortable bed and plenty of pillows and duvets.
- jane (7/5): - Location Uncomfortable seating in front room
- Jim (9/5): Pleasant stay with our pup. - Nice and clean
Dog friendly
Had character

- Clare (9/5): Cosy and relaxing stay - Second stay in a fantastic location in Portstewart, central enough but very quiet and easy to park. House is comfortable and heating easy to control which was very welcome as we had bad weather. Cleaning of a high standard and kitchen well equipped. Host was easy to contact and very helpful. Nothing too much, sofa in living room needs replacing as it has become lumpy and is a bit low and difficult to get out of, bathroom is clean but becoming a little tired. A bedside table and lamp would be very welcome in the biggest room as only the big main light and nowhere to leave phone/ glasses etc. Saying all this, these are fairly minor things and we will visit again.
- Kirsty (7/5): Lovely part of the world. - Excellent location - pleasant walk to the beach and promenade. Very clean. No parking issues. Host responded promptly to queries and offered to source us a travel cot. Good sound system and modern, comfortable kitchen. There are steep steps at the entrance and in the property so it is not the most accessible house. Bare floorboards throughout mean it is cold underfoot (pack fluffy socks!) The sofa in the living room is very uncomfortable and one of the beds had a broken slat.
- Donna (9/5): - Great location and brilliant that our fur baby could come with us sofa in sitting room not very comfortable and there was only seating for 3 people comfortably in that room not great when we were a party of 4
- Reilly (10/5): -
- Dee (10/5): - Beautiful garden and a very cozy home.
- Vicky (8/5): Lovely quaint accommodation, suited our needs very comfortable - No breakfast A couple of light bulbs were not working and the plug in the bath was stuck, luckily we didn’t have a bath only showers
- Sarah (8/5): Good place to stay for a few nights on the coast - Full house with 3 bedrooms and lovely modern kitchen/diner in particular. Comfy beds and stylish looking throughout. Quiet street, could park out the front fine, not far from town centre and near beautiful beach. Wooden floors throughout so could feel a little cold (but ability to turn up thermostat). Sofas not as comfy. Lots of concrete steps to front and wooden stairs inside a bit hazardous for our toddler.
- Vikki (10/5): - The house was lovely and clean with all amenities in place. The back garden is beautiful and so peaceful in the morning while having a coffee ☕🌻
- Heather (7/5): -
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional - Short distance (10 mins walk) to the Portstewart beach. Washing machine to be able to wash clothes throughout the week.
Rooms were clean and tidy.
Local spar and food establishments were close by.
Host was helpful with any questions. No clothes horse or washing line to dry clothes.
Sofa's were a bit uncomfortable.
- Andrew (8/5): Very good -
- Terry (8/5): We really enjoyed our stay no issues. - Great location and good value Just basic living accommodation
- Wendy (10/5): Great wee house with lots of character in great location - The situation was so handy to walk to the beach and the promenade in a quiet location with parking. Loved that we could bring our dog and it was very clean and comfy beds. I loved the kitchen/living area looking out into the quaint garden. Beds were really comfy and smelt so clean when we arrived. Had everything we needed. Host was very friendly and answered any questions we had promptly. Could do with another sofa or comfy chairs as just had 2 seater settee in kitchen and small 2 seater sofa and 1 very small chair in wee living room so could only seat 2 to 3 people.
- Hannah (10/5): Lovely stay in a Lovely Town - Great location. Very clean. It has everything you could need. Very prompt and flexible check in as we arrived late and was no issues. Perfect for 5 people could even fit 6 Nothing really. The only thing I would say is it wouldn’t be very accessible for people who may not be able to climb stairs etc as only one toilet upstairs or else outside. No complaints personally though :)
- Declan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mcpartland (9/5): Superb -
- Melissa (8/5): Perfect short break in the North Coast - Great location, comfortable, good communication from host and we loved that it is dog friendly. We were offered an early check in which was great and much appreciated.
- Ali (9/5): May weekend in the sun - The house was so homely, plenty of space inside and out. Great to have somewhere dog friendly
Brilliant location We loved everything
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elaine (8/5): Lovely and peaceful location - Excellent location, value for money Nothing
- Stephanie (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely property in a quiet location just a few minutes drive from the beach
- Nicola (9/5): Characterful, great location. - Very characterful house with all modern conveniences.
Very straightforward check in and out.
Great location - a short stroll to the beautiful beach of Portstewart. -
- Robert (9/5): Superb - Very clean, beds were so comfy, everything needed was in the kitchen for meals etc, small enclosed gardenfor ossie,5 mìn drive to town centre, shops and pubs and promenade for leisurely walks with the dog, would definitely come back (weather permitting)
- Shazb (8/5): Great location, customer service and even books to read. Though I note my book wasn't there Patrick! - Loved the location and cosy feel at the house. Also the log burner was fab, made it all so warm. We didn't abuse using the heating but when it was in the whole house was warm and inviting. Nothing I disliked as such. Maybe a little freshen up re decor, & back garden
But we loved it. Thank you xxx
- Gayle (10/5): Clean, Cosy and excellent cooking facilities! - Loved this house and the quaintness of it, great sound system and really cosy. A hilly walk back from town but close to the wonderful Strand Beach. A TV in kitchen would make it better and definitely a need for more comfortable seats in the living room. Bedside tables would also be useful, the back garden is secure but in need of some maintenance!
- Theresa (8/5): Had a lovely stay in a lovely house great communication with owners - Lovely comfortable house, let friendly & location was excellent N/A
- Alison (6/5): Satisfactory dog friendly base in port Stewart for 2 - Position. We were visiting family do needed a base. Dog friendly It would be helpful to have instructions for the heating control.
- Maria (10/5): Exceptional - Second time staying here. House clean and warm. Short walk to portstewart strand. Very quiet location. Will be back.
- Linda (8/5): Great spot to unwind - Great house, quirky and very homely, it was a perfectly quiet space to unwind and relax. We had a lovely 2 night stay and is close to Portstewart within walking distance to anything you would need. A great base for visiting any of the wonderful attractions the north coast has to offer. Hope to return again as it’s pet friendly which is very important for us and our little dog loved it and the beach!! Some bedside tables with lamps and a few more mirrors upstairs for us ladies to do hair etc.
- Evelyn (8/5): Clean bright welcoming and would book again - Open plan with everything needed for cooking etc. Further away to the town than thought
- Ruth (9/5): Superb -
- Mrs. (8/5): Lovely cottage and garden. The garden was dog proof so no worries about letting the dog out. - Great location for the beach and town centre.
- Stuart (9/5): Superb - Self Catered
- Linda (10/5): Pretty house in a great location fir exploring Portstewart and surrounding area. - Quaint house with a lovely atmosphere. Very pretty back garden. Handy to all amenities in Portstewart. We were very snug and comfortable. We brought our dogs and the house was so handy to beautiful Portstewart strand. Would return in a heartbeat! No complaints at all. Loved the house and the location.
- Helen (10/5): Perfect for us and good value - Lovely house for myself and daughter. Well equipped and comfortable.
Liked the price varied with number of occupants. Better value and more space than local hotels. Side or coffee table in front room and bedside table(s) in front bedroom would make it perfect.
Glass house toilet opposite the garden table made us laugh - maybe a blind or some obscure film 😳😀
- Lucy (10/5): Coastal haven really is a haven on the coast ! A perfect spot ! - Coastal haven is a a beautiful property. Well presented with all that is needed for a lovely seaside break away. The location is excellent, a 5minute walk to Portstewart Strand beach and walking distance to the promenade. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.
- Philip (10/5): Exceptional - Had the best stay at Coastal Haven. Property was so easy to find. Had everything we needed for a few nights stay by the sea. Short walk to Portstewart Strand and the main promenade. Property was immaculately clean and tidy. Felt like home. Can't wait to stay again!! N/A
- Natalie (6/5): Fab location but lacks some basic facilities. - Fab location Access to the property is very difficult. About 14 steep steps up to the front door with no handrail to hold on to. Toilet seat was too small and did not cover the rim of the bowl.
As a family of 4 there were not enough soft seats for us to sit together. The living room only sits 3 people.
Also advertised as having a flat screen TV but had no TV channels, only streaming services which you had to log in with your own ID. Could not watch live TV.
- Laura (9/5): Superb -
- Aidan (9/5): Superb - A very enjoyable weekend stay. The home is clean and tidy and located about a 10 minute walk to Portstewart promenade. The host Patrick was contactable but we didn't need to ask him for anything, everything was already sorted. Highly recommended homestay. We have no complaints about anything.
- Quinn (9/5): Fantastic location fantastic interior design, love the speaker in living room couldn't have asked for a better day f - Gorgeous modern interior with brilliant surround sound system in the living room to add to the vibe of the property No lock on single bedroom door
Maybe provide an extension cable as limited plugs
- Karen (8/5): Very good - Nice house with good facilities! It was fantastic thay we could bring our 2 dogs with us and the garden was enclosed, which was perfect.
- Stacey (7/5): Nice - Location The over grown garden at the back and front
- Lois (8/5): Lovely little home, great location on the north coast - Very good location, had everything we needed, clean and dog friendly. Bed was perhaps to firm for us and sofa had worn cushions, however despite these would still recommend
- Magee (10/5): Beautiful warm feeling home from home. - What a fantastic property, beautifully prepared, well equipped and very centrally located but without the huge costs of being just five minutes further down the road! We had a great stay, the owner was very easily contacted and very pleasant and helpful. Beds were comfortable which is a nice surprise when staying somewhere, it’s bright, warm and quiet with very handy parking. I’d thoroughly recommend a stay here indeed. Already passed on the very little criticism I can find to the owner and this is very much constructive points, the sofa in the ‘tv’ room is so uncomfortable it’s very hard to sit and relax, needs replacing and the tv I found very difficult to navigate without clunky apps. Stick a replacement sofa in and an aerial for the tv and boom you’ve got to me perfection!
- Sherri (10/5): Exceptional - Thank you so much for a lovely stay
- Clare (9/5): A little gem that we were very happy with. - Great location for walking to both the beach and the town. Comfortable, cosy, well appointed, and with friendly neighbours. Host very responsive to messages and offered a late check out without us asking - much appreciated on a wet final day. The noisiest extractor fan we’ve ever come across - but that was the only thing.
- Moore (10/5): Exceptional - EVERYTHING
- Kerry (7/5): Lovely little house in central location, basic but just what was needed - Lovely little house, good location in heart of town, host very friendly and accommodating in communications Very little information in property e.g. had to just guess on how to leave property, where to leave keys etc, no info on where bins or recycling facilities were (no recycling bins in property). Rooms were a little sparse and echoey upstairs, could use a few rugs on floors.
- Sherri (8/5): Very good -
- Sonja (9/5): Superb -
- Denise (10/5): Exceptional - We loved the quirky decor and cute back garden
- Lynsey (8/5): Very good -
- Magowan-wilton (10/5): Excellent - Great location , lovely clean accommodation and great for our family travelling with our family dog with the enclosed garden and hard floors throughout ! Host very welcoming and easy contacted . Would definitely book again !
- Clive (8/5): Great stay, recommended for discovering the area. Especially good for families - good location for our needs, love Portstewart and been many times before Property very cold on arrival, took 24 hrs for heating to warm through
- Ann (10/5): Exceptional - This is a really beautiful and cosy house. Immaculately clean and has everything you need for really comfortable stay. Location fantastic and so close to stunning Portstewart Strand and 10 min drive to stunning Portrush. We had fantastic stay and great host. Cannot recommend it highly enough. I have stayed in lots of properties in Portstewart and Portrush and this is by far the best.
- Rachael (10/5): A refreshing and relaxing mini break at this lovely property. Hosts very accommodating and welcoming and everything was - Property was compact yet felt spacious, nice character features. Very cosy and well appointed - had all we needed. We really enjoyed being cosy by the wood burner and stayed in kitchen dining area most of the time. Our dog loved being on his bed beside in the warm kitchen and exploring the garden. So many options for walking our dog in many directions. Not far to the beach. Loved it, wanted to leave it all behind and move in here! So this is really picky - a wee rug at side of bed in the front double bedroom would be extra cosy.
- Maria (9/5): Lovely house in Portstewart - Brilliant location, lovely house with enclosed back garden. Everything was perfect. Very clean and very accommodating, helpful hosts. Best nights sleep in a long time! Nothing, everything was perfect
- Isobel (9/5): Excellent stay - House was excellent. Good location and spotlessly clean Sofa in living room was too small for our party of 5 and it was also quite uncomfortable though not a big issue but something host could look into changing over time.
- Evans (8/5): Very good -
- Izabela (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (9/5): Highly recommend this place, great location, great house and great host - Everything it was just perfect for what we were looking for x would recommend it to anyone xx homely and relaxing x
- Lucy (10/5): Planning our return trip! - Fantastic home from home. We had everything we needed for a great weekend, and it's such a beautiful house too. Our host was attentive at check-in and post check-in.
The location is so convenient to the strand, coastal attractions, nice restaurants, I was beyond thrilled. Nothing!
- Richarddoney (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely lovely little house to explore the area, a short distance from the town of Portstewart and the supermarket.
A lovely kitchen/family room, great Internet with cozy lounge and nice bedrooms.
When can I go back
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional - Wel apportioned and decorated and peaceful retreat!
- John (9/5): Little Gem in Portstewart - House was in a great location and was spotlessly clean. Kitchen was well kitted out re utensils etc. It was extremely cosy and homely. Gas central heating ensured house was warm and there was instant hot water for shower etc. Patrick was very contactable.
- Altaf (8/5): Very good -
- Helen (10/5): September weekend away - Lovely home and garden and we felt very comfortable. All good and Patrick our host was very helpful.
- Karen (9/5): Superb - Great location for the beaches and local restaurants. We chose this time of the year to enjoy the quiet beach. Loved the garden. Maybe a little trim of the plants at the steps to give a clear view
- Sam (10/5): Great experience - I booked this property for attending a weekend long wedding. It turned out to be a really comfortable base camp to come back to between functions and at the end of nights out. The location is excellent - short walk to the beach. Plenty of parking space close to the front steps. Inside was clean and amenities were excellent. Also, the owner was very accommodating for check in and check out time to suit me. Would definitely stay again.
- Paul (9/5): Excellent - Property had everything you need for a relaxing break. Patrick the host was very attentive making sure all was well, even left some bits in the fridge for a drink and some breakfast. Property was great, a little tired in places but overall everything you could need from a bolt hole on the North Coast.
- Clare (10/5): Cosy and relaxing stay - A beautiful property, close to Portstewart Promenade in a lovely quiet location. Very clean and comfortable with everything you could need for an enjoyable stay. We felt very relaxed and at home and will definitely stay again. Well equipped kitchen, cosy beds and nice bathroom. Lovely to have an enclosed back garden if you have a dog.
- Romie (10/5): Lovely little spot!! - Perfect location for us. The property had everything we needed, especially for cooking. The host was kind enough to leave milk for us, so we could have a cup of tea on arrival.
The beds were super comfy, I slept so well. The property is located in a quiet area not far from a large Tesco.
PortStewart is a lovely little spot. Had a wonderful walk along the promenade and around the headlands. Very happy we found this coastal haven. Happy with everything!
- Cherith (10/5): Home from home at the North coast ! - The owner, Patrick was very easy to communicate with and very helpful and accommodating us as we had a surprise birthday party and we got a late check out with no problem at all. Everything was great if it could just be moved and put on the seashore. It would be excellent LOL
- Eileen (10/5): It was fabulous and weather not to bad. - It was absolutely perfect for us. Son and his wife plus dog came over from England. They had a fabulous time so near the beach for the dog and so near the town.
- Jenna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jenna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Philip (10/5): Exceptional - An amazing property in the ideal location for our trip. The property was perfect for us. Spacious, homely, and spotlessly clean.....we were more than impressed.
The property is less than 10 mins walk from Portstewart Strand, one of NI's finest beaches, with views of Mussenden Temple and Co. Donegal. Visited Harry's Shack (located on the beach) on multiple occasions during our stay, and would highly recommend. We also walked the beach every morning before breakfast. You will not find a better beach in Ireland.
10 mins walk to Portstewart Promenade with great shops, amazing coffee spots, restaurants, bars, and a playpark and multiple ice-cream shops for the kids.
Patrick, the host, was amazing. He had the property ready for us before check-in and was in touch to ensure we had everything we needed.
I cannot recommend this property highly enough. Can't wait to return!! Thank you 😊
- Serafin (10/5): Exceptional - The house is located in minutes walking from the beautiful beach and really close to the town centre. Very smooth communication with the owner. We recommend this property 💯
- Christine (10/5): Excellent stay and location very good for Portstewart and surroundings area. Close to amenities. -
- Amy (8/5): Great property - Stayed for 2 nights with four adults in our group whilst attending a funeral in the area. Arrived late at night. There was plenty of parking and was able to access property with key from key safe. Host went above and beyond and went to the supermarket for provisions because it would have been shut before we arrived. They also answered all my messages during our stay, I am very grateful for this. The property is a lovely home spacious with very comfortable beds with high quality bedding and towels. Kitchen was well equipped and shower was hot with good water pressure. Would definetly recommend staying here. A welcome guide with useful information would have been helpful. It took us a while to work out how to control the heating, open a tricky back door, get WiFi and numbers for local reliable taxi firms. Wooden floors throughout meant the acoustics weren't great. Could hear every footsteps when others were upstairs or moving around the house at night.
- Katherine (8/5): Ideal base for a short break in NI with my dog - I was visiting NI, mainly to catch up with relations dotted around the country but also to explore a little of the local area. The property made an ideal base. There is easy parking in the quiet street outside, road connections are good and there is plenty of interest in the locality. One can walk to the centre of Portstewart, either along the shore path or by road, in about fifteen minutes and it takes less than this to reach the large, sandy beach at West Strand. I travelled with my dog. Floors are mostly wooden, which worked really well for us. The house has a lovely bright interior and was equipped with all the basics needed for a comfortable stay. Since it is a recent rental property, many of the kitchen items and linens are clearly brand new. The owner was welcoming, helpful and friendly in all communications. I would happily stay there again on a future visit to NI. This was not a problem for me, but potential renters should be aware that there are steep steps up to the front of the house and within the house itself.
