Guest Reviews
- Ameeta (10/5): - It was clean, really spacious and a great location!
- Lucy (2/5): - The location and ease of access both great. It was very disappointing I’m afraid, and certainly not worth the £119 paid.
When we entered the caravan there was an unpleasant stale smell, and the whole place looked like it needed a thorough clean, down to the skirting boards etc. The walls in the twin room were especially grim with multiple stains and I felt uncomfortable my daughter sleeping in the bed next to them.
The bedding was all synthetic and not very enjoyable to sleep under, although warm. The towels were thin and tired looking, and the largest ones were barely able to fit around us adults.
As a whole, the place was very underwhelming and needs some TLC to make it worth staying in.
- Beaven (7/5): Apart from the bed was a positive experience - Excellent location The bed was uncomfortable
- Charlotte (9/5): Loved the location and it was super clean and comfortable - Location was amazing
- Robert (10/5): Lovely - The caravan was well presented and ideal for me. It had everything I needed. Should I visit Mersea Island again, I wouldn't hesitate in staying there again.
- Wayne (9/5): -
- Sharon Attfield (7/5): - We loved the position of caravan Internet was good clean but basic Beds were uncomfortable van was dated but comfortable but very cold at night
- Steven (1/5): -
- Parish-Mackin (7/5): Lighthouse retreat - Location is great, right on the beach! The caravan is pretty old and run down. Lots of big stains on carpet and marked/ripped wall paper. Was not as clean as I would expect for the price, needed a hoover at the very least.
- Aamirah (8/5): -
- Zoe (10/5): -
- Ismail (10/5): Definitely be back - Everything was spot on and excellent service and a lovely little retreat perfect Nothing whatsoever
- Lai (3/5): Good location on Mersea Island. - Heat went off in the morning and we coulnd't turn it back on. We couldn't turn on the electric fire place either. Dated and uncomfortable place. Location is great as it's by the beach.
- Donna (1/5): The bathroom light did not work Salt rocks that are toxic to children and pets were our toddler and - The bathroom light did not work
Salt rocks that are toxic to children and pets were our toddler and children could touch them
The heating went off and wouldnt go back on we were all freezing we were not able to use the fire due to no firegaurd and having a toddler and other children
Side tables unstable
Broken front window
Not enough bedding available for our booking
Stains all walls floors and soft furnishings
We tried phoning the number supplied but it wouldnt connect
- Shelley (4/5): Could have been cleaner - It was quite difficult to get the key out of the box for starters. There was no working light in the bathroom. Struggled to get the heating on. Microwave didn’t work. Crumbs around toaster, bathroom sink was dirty and didn’t empty We didn’t arrive until late due to an awful journey. There was no working light in the bathroom and only one half of a toilet roll between 4 of us. The description was home from home. No teabags, no washing up liquid or dishcloth to wipe up mess that had been left from previous guest. Out door ligh kept flickering on and off
- Liana (8/5): Our stay was lovely - The location was perfect and the property was lovely and clean. the second bedroom was a little tight.
- lee (10/5): -

- Sherry (8/5): -
- Emma (8/5): -
- Karen (10/5): Perfect accommodation - Roomy, clean and comfy accommodation, fully equipped, good size bathroom with nice shower, great location, 2 mins from beach hut beach and Sandbanks restaurant, 30 mins walk along beach to The Coast Inn.
- Andrew (5/5): - We rented this caravan for one night to celebrate our first anniversary and would also be a perfect nearby short vacation for our little family. The caravan is located close to the sea which is great. There's also a nearby playground for children and a beach store. Space wise - we liked the living/dining areas, my toddler enjoyed the big sofa as well.
Following the animal hair incident (as per below), we reached out to the host and it was lovely for her to send someone to hover the living room and was very apologetic of what had happened. The moment we entered the caravan, an unpleasant animal smell welcomed us lots of animal hairs all over the living area from the carpet, the rug and the sofa which were not very ideal for a toddler (under 2) and someone who is pregnant. There was not enough cleaning materials left in the cupboard as well for us to use to clean the hair so ended up covering the sofa.
- Julie (7/5): The caravan park is amazing.i love the area it so well maintained. Lovely clubhouse but food stops very early midweek a - The Caravan is a bit tired and dated. Had a musty smell but it was very very hot weather so the heat may have created this. The caravan was clean and comfortable. Had everything you needed. Outside there were weeds and it felt unloved. There is a little patio with a table and chairs. We didn’t use it because it was filthy. Def not been cleaned for a long time or swept. There was a lot of debris from trees , berries etc on the patio.

- Dipakkumar (1/5): Cleanliness and hygiene needed much more improving.. - Nice location.. good toilet clean hygiene abd all bed sheets nice and clean too. - Karen (8/5): It was basic but served my needs for the stay - Location All good
- Susan (10/5): Great stay, we could have stayed for weeks! - Brilliant location, right next to the beach, walking in one direction there are no roads you go along a beautiful coastal footpath, along which you can push a wheelchair most of the way. Lovely quiet holiday park. We really loved the caravan and spending a peaceful time right next to the sea.
- Emma (8/5): Very good - Great location, close to the beach. Beds were comfy, soft pillows. Kitchen had all we needed. Nothing
- Shelley (9/5): Superb -
- Annette (8/5): Comfortable accommodation, great walks and excellent restaurants - The location - the beach is just a few minutes away. It was a lovely walk to West Mersea along the beach and coast road. We also walked to East Mersea and beyond. The space was definitely comfortable enough. Very helpful host. As others have said, the caravan is a bit tired but it’s comfortable and good value for money.
- Kim (2/5): Avoid - Location, the actual holiday park Absolute outdated mobile home. A terrible smell inside. Mould in the bathroom, the toilet seat completely ruined. The spare bed was a foldmiut bed with something that couldnt be called a matress. Everything was grubby. Cigarettes in the bbq. Just horrible and uncomfortable
- Room (8/5): Very good -
- Vlad (6/5): Pleasant - Great location No 4g inside the caravan, WiFi internet is very weak and unusable. No private garden as advertised.
- Matthews (8/5): Very good - Lovely caravan, very clean and comfy as well as well equipped. Great location, will be back. New toilet seat and regrouting of shower.

- Manoj (1/5): There was no heating for one night. Really disappointed with the caravan stay. -
- Denise (8/5): Great spot by the beach - We had a wonderful time staying at this caravan! The space was clean and spacious, making it really comfortable to relax. The bed was perfect, and I slept so well during my stay. It's also a huge plus that dogs are allowed, so my furry friend was able to join me for the trip. The location is fantastic—it's just a short walk to the beach, and there are plenty of eateries nearby. Everything we needed was within easy reach, which made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient stay! nothing really.

- Kirsty (8/5): Would definitely stay again. Love the vibe in mersea. - Lock box at the van was well positioned and easy to use. Great location. Very easy to get too. Near the club house. And the beach. There’s lots of place to go for food. Also a Tescos not far if you wanted to cook. Van has a good selection of pots and pans. Plates & cutlery. Could tell it was an older van but still well equipped. Double glazed and heating through out.
- Victoria (10/5): Exceptional -
- Angie (7/5): Peaceful overnight stay. Very pleased woth our stay. - Great location near to the beach and clubhouse. Unseasonably chilly but great heating kept us toasty. Property kept clean, nice linen on the beds. Beds were very small in the twin bedroom, also very close together - perfectly adequate for children and actually had a good nights sleep in here (I’m a short adult!) but my friend in the double found the mattress was a bit saggy. That said, she slept well.
- Tom (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vicky (8/5): Lovely caravan, perfect for short stay - Location and facilities The salt crystal ornaments leaked salty water all over the surfaces of the bedside tables so clearly damp in bedroom. Had to clean up on arrival.
