Guest Reviews
- karen (6/5): A bit disappointing, but it was in a good location for restaurants and near the sea. - It was in a good location It was a bit tatty, the lino in the kitchen was “rippled “ in places which could cause a tripping hazard. There were only 2 coat hangers, and the water was tepid in the shower.
- Samantha (10/5): Lovely stay in the heart of mumbles - Very clean, spacious and fresh
- miriam (6/5): Convenient location in popular Mumbles. - Great location. Good sized rooms. Good for two couple. Very sparse furniture wise. No hot water for showers.
- Mike (5/5): -
- Sian (8/5): Quiet short break close to restaurants and shops - Location, spacious rooms and parking. Quick response to messages from owners -
- Ilian (10/5): - Very good spot, close to everything. Bedrooms are to the back of the house so very quiet. Very fast reaction to our messages. Thanks
- Steven (7/5): - Great location within the mumbles. Great parking at extra cost. Adequately stocked kitchen. Decor looks unfinished all over. Beds are cheap and uncomfortable. Water pressure is low and doesn't seem to get up to desired temperature.
- Kulvadee (7/5): Good location, ok for short stay 1-2 days - Good location, very near to everything in walking distance , staff answers very fast. Staff is friendly.
Clean room -the bed is not so comfortable, bed sheet, pillow cover is a bit smelly, seems not change for long time.
-parking is a bit difficult to find
- entertainment room and kitchen is too big compared to bedroom is small and sofa is too small
- heater is too cold for me because of a small heater but big room of entertainment room
- David (10/5): Great stay, will go back again and recommend thank you John Paul - Very clean and fantastic location Nothing
- Andrew (9/5): Excellent Mumbles Overnighter - Just a friendly, safe and clean place for the night
- Caroline (10/5): Very comfortable apartment, with lots of facilities and spotless. Owner very helpful - They provided a breakfast hamper
The apartment was very spacious
- Melanie (8/5): -
- Tom (10/5): Brilliant apartment in the perfect location to explore the mumbles! - The location was great, right near the town! There was a park just a few minutes walk away for the kids and we had sea views from all three bedrooms!! The doors were a little heavy for the kids. Our 3 year old struggled with them but that’s only a minor gripe!
- Stephen (10/5): Very enjoyable short stay, perfect location - Excellent host, great location and has everything we needed.
- Andrew (4/5): Walking distance to some lovely pubs/restaurants. - Close to pubs/restaurants and sea front. Nice welcome pack (cereals, milk.) kitchen well equipped. Lack of seating in lounge. Radiators not sufficient to heat lounge, main bedroom and en-suite. Need hooks to hang coats. Water pressure in shower/sink inadequate. Skylight in bedroom needed some kind of blackout (too bright to sleep). 2 wardrobes in main bedroom not needed, a dressing table would be better. Radiator in main bedroom was half hidden by wardrobe, so bedroom was very cold. Towels were rather grey instead of white. Bedding was very creased. No wardrobe hangers. Television in other bedroom but not in main bedroom.
- lee (8/5): -
- fiona (10/5): We had a comfortable stay close to everything we needed. - We loved that there was a lift for those in our group that needed the help, it was a Regal journey for them to the flat. Everything was clean and comfy. We arrived in the dark so should have looked at the parking instructions in more detail. The Mumbles has very narrow streets on steep hills (why Sat Nav struggles) so I recommend studying the instructions beforehand, not when you're tired after travelling and in the dark!
- chris (9/5): Very nicely finished apartment in a great location. Enjoyed our stay - Location and nice view.
Well equipped. Confusing TV. Just needs some lamps in the living room.
- Colin (10/5): - Great stay
- Clare (7/5): - Clean tidy well equipped
Central to mumbles and oyster mouth Living/kitchen not comfortable not much seating
- Tanya (7/5): Good stay for central location. - Very central. Excellent communication. The ground floor window is open to the road so had to keep blind shut. There was no milk to go with the coffee. The double bed was a very small bed would say it was more like a 3/4 bed.
- Ben (8/5): Really good value for money. It’s fairly cheap, well located and very clean. - The property was spotlessly clean, well located and had lots of little extras like cereal, milk and butter provided. Beds were really comfy, and the communication from the owners was first class. As others have mentioned, the internal doors are extremely heavy. Too heavy for a small child to open unassisted as it happens. The boiler was quite noisy on occasion, and the apartment could do with another armchair or a bigger sofa. It sleeps four, but seats two!
All in all, it’s great value for money, and I’m trying pretty hard to find fault.
- Stavros (5/5): Good Mumbles location let down badly by undersize bed and gas boiler in the bedroom - Clean, good location, availability of dedicated parking although at a fairly high cost 1: The bed WAS TOO SMALL for two normal size people. The details should state it is a SMALL Double not a Double bed.
2: The Gas Boiler in the Bedroom, opposite the bed is really both an eyesore and a potential hazard. Not just the exposure to gas but also it restricts access to one side of the bed. My head has just recoverd from a nasty bump.
3: The bed sitting room is clearly too narrow and restricts the bed size to a single bed. Also why does a room with just one plugged in appliance, the TV, need to have seven double sockets, one of which is at a height of 6ft?
4: The TV receives signal only from the wifi/internet and which limits choice of free programs and can be a pain to use.
- Clive (9/5): - All the facilities and extras, tea, coffee butter etc. Washing up liquid included.
- victor (5/5): disappointing - location was excellent , cleanliness was good .Kitchen was well equipped . The bedroom was unacceptable .It was too small . there wasn't enough space either side of the bed to even have a bedside lamp or table . The major problem was that there was no outside wall so there was no window . There was a glass strip which look into the kitchen area . In fact we didn't stay in the property . We booked another hotel and spent our time there . We did leave our car in the carpark which was just as described . There was no telephone number so we couldn't contact JP to discuss our problems .
- Angela (6/5): Mixed feelings - Situation great, quiet. Nicely decorated. Comfortable beds and very clean. Well equipped kitchen. We were in apartment 3. No table and chairs to sit and eat meals. Only 2 side tables. Had to have food on laps. No mirror in bathroom to enable my husband to wet shave. Had to go and buy a mirror. No hooks to hang coats in hallway, very wet whilst there so difficult to dry them. Guttering broken on patio. Very noisy sleeping with the torrential rain. Untidy on patio.Handle on bathroom door broke whilst our friend inside. Had to bang on door for us to go and get her out.
- lawless (9/5): Excellent stay in a clean and modern flat wonderful location. - Brilliant location, all admin etc went well, queries were answered quickly, the flat was clean, and parking very convenient. Small issues which could easily be addressed. There is no storage at all for clothes- a few hooks would help; water never more than tepid; and it’s a ground floor flat- a slatted blind would allow in some light during the day and give some privacy.
- Carley (7/5): -
- Peter (6/5): A few days in Mumbles visiting family - Location was great, the flat was spacious and clean, it was easy to contact the host. It had a good view and a parking space, much needed in Mumbles. There were no table and chairs, no mirrors in the bathroom and one in a very inconvenient place in the bedroom, no dressing table, no coat hooks in the hallway or bathroom, no towel rail in the bathroom, or a shelf over the basin. . The light well in the bedroom was filthy. The mug had a chip, there were no lamps in the lounge and only one lamp in each bedroom, why not two? If these small things were added it would have been so much better and they are easy fixes.
- Ann (8/5): Great location just needs a few more things to make it perfect. - A real wow factor on arrival, clean and in a perfect location. Great kitchen area with all the appliances you could need. Nice Seaview from lounge windows. Lacking some basics, like a tea towel & a table with chairs to sit & eat. Very dirty sky light in bedroom 2 & no mirrors or shelves in bathrooms to put your things.
- Julie (7/5): No natural light, small window onto street which is next to a pub and gym so had to keep blind down for privacy! - Central to mumbles. Easy walking distance of restaurants and shops. Smelt of damp! Tiny bed, couldn’t open window or blind as right on street with gym opposite and pub next door which were busy and noisy!
Also laying in bed and looking at a boiler wasn’t really great!!!!!!!!!!
- Jerry (8/5): -
- Amanda (10/5): Great little mini break - Excellent communication, Lovely location and spotlessly clean.
The little extras like bread and milk were a welcome treat.
We were also lucky enough to book a parking space, which was a godsend in the bank holiday. Only thing I found was lacking was a hairdryer. It wasn't on the list of facilities so my fault for just assuming they'd be one.
- Bailey (10/5): Very relaxing and enjoyable - Everything the orly thing was the door to the apartment was really hard to unlock Nothing
- Emete (5/5): very nice place mumble s - it was 5 min walk to beach good location from shops restaurant , nice accommodation bed was very uncomfortable please change mattress bed
- Steve (9/5): Clean and well appointed, a perfect location to explore the area - The property was spotless and very roomy. The kitchen was very well equipped and the basket of essentials that were provided was very welcome. It was also very easy to communicate with the host. One bedroom did not have any window or ventilation. Although it didn't matter to us, as we were only stopping a short time, there was no dining table or chairs.
- Dan (9/5): Good value for money . We will be back . - Perfect location for all our needs . Near to the gower beaches . Lots of entertainment for our young family . Just a few snags that need to be finished off as the property has been refurbished but this is reflected in the excellent price
- Gareth (9/5): Perfect for a stay in the area and the host JP was easy to deal with. - Location and cleanliness Road noise
- Elizabeth (8/5): -
- Jo (10/5): Problem with locks promptly sorted by hosts😊 - Clean, tidy and equipped.
- Joy (4/5): Overpriced stay - Good communication and very clean The apartment, supposedly recently renovated looked cheaply done. The photos looked much better than the apartment in reality. Everything looked cheap inside. There were no mirrors in the bathroom, one bedroom only had a skylight instead of a proper window which was filthy, nevertheless the light woke me early as there were no blinds The other bedroom overlooked a tiny backyard which was dirty and untidy. There was a room with a chair which had frosted glass so you couldn't look outside, the pipeworks for the water/shower were on display and noisy as not hidden in a cupboard. The coffee machine didn't work. On the positive side it was very clean inside and the communication was good. It just felt very
overpriced for the quality of the apartment. .
- Judith (9/5): Superb - Great value flat centrally situated in Mumbles less than 5 mins from the prom. Really helpful host and nice welcome pack on arrival. Immaculately clean, good clear info. Plenty linen, towels etc. The fire doors are over sprung and very heavy. They bang and trap things and it makes it hard to leave them open to let air circulate.
- Georgina (10/5): Exceptional - This accommodation is spacious, well equipped, comfortable and immaculately clean. The location is perfect for anyone who wants to explore Mumbles on foot; easy access to beach, pier, shops and restaurants.
Parking nearby is available at a small cost, much needed as on street spaces are few. Nothing to dislike, it suited us perfectly
- Brook (6/5): Pleasant -
- Steven (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julie (6/5): Just needs a few finishing touches - It was in a good area very close to the promenade.
It was a newly renovated building and very clean. Good size rooms. It felt as though it still required finishing touches. eg.
- the outside area remained unfinished and was inaccessible due to the patio doors not opening even though the keys were in the door.
- the rooms were quite bare
- the fire stick tv only worked occasionally and when it did there was no sound on the sitting room tv.
- no hairdryer available
- Very few coat hangers
- Karen (9/5): Great apartment - Great apartment! Great host ! Great location
Lovely well presented accommodation and communication was brill . Highly recommend a stay here and next time will be 2 or 3 nights
Car park just behind property was bonus as didnt have to fuss about public car parks.
- Karen (10/5): Exceptional - The location in Mumbles was amazing , and the apartment was absolutely stunning . Loads of room . And lovely finishes throughout.. Towels provided and face cloths .
Only two other places on my travels have ever done that . And that ticks boxes for me .
There was cereal and bread supplied for breakfast along with milk ,tea bags and coffee .
And cleaning products.
Kitchen was fully stocked with everything you would need to stay and make your own food .
Not that we did as there are places on the beach front to go and eat . All amazing nothing I didn't like at all
- Mark (8/5): Relaxing, comfortable and outdoorsy - The flat was very recently renovated so everything was in great condition. The owners had also been very kind in leaving some food in the fridge for us and shampoo and things in the bathroom. That was thoughtful and helpful. The location is excellent, a moment's walk from the front, shops and playground. The owners were very responsive throughout our stay. It was a comfortable and pleasant stay. Apart from the bathroom, the doors were fire doors - thick, heavy, and automatically closing behind you. It meant that there was no natural light in the hall/corridor and it also ironically was quite hazardous for my 4 year old son. If he entered a room on his own, the door would snap shut behind him leaving him unable to get out. The doors were so heavy he couldn't open any of them on his own. He would have to start knocking on the door and raising his voice! Neither bedrooms had windows, so were fantastically dark at night. However with the tightly closing doors they became very airless and stuffy during the night.
Also, in keeping with fire regs apparently there was no hairdryer in the flat. If we'd known we would have brought our own but then again this wouldn't have been PAT tested so it feels like a safety-defeating measure.
As the flat had been recently renovated there was still quite a strong smell of paint/adhesives in the flat on arrival - perhaps unable to escape because of the fire doors and limited flow of air within the flat.
Sorry if this sounds critical. We still had a lovely stay but I do think it's important to provide constructive feedback to improve the experience for others. The fire regulations seem to be so rigorous that they slightly affect the overall visitor experience.
I know the owners offer private parking if booked in advance. Alas, I left this too late and missed out on the opportunity. Parking more generally in The Mumbles is highly restricted. Most residential streets reserve parking for permit holders and the public parking is extremely busy most of the time - or at least over the weekend. I had to drive all over the place to find a spot overnight.
- Christine (7/5): Good - Good location for town, Mumbles and for Swansea and the Gower.
Good kitchen
Plenty of room for a family
2 bathrooms Parking is away from the property if you have lots of luggage.
Still finishing touches to complete from renovations.
No kitchen table with chairs
- Georg (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly host
Close to the seafront and shops
It has it's own parking space
- Susan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joanne (8/5): Very good -
- Matthew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Thornton (7/5): Good -
- Sophie (10/5): A wonderful stay for a family with young children - The apartment is modern, clean and the beds were comfy. The thing that really made it wonderful were the little touches like the provision of ample shower products, having kids crockery alongside the adult items and finally the stocking of the kitchen with essentials was a lovely thing for a family with young children to make arrival that bit easier. Lovely location and really appreciated the parking spot for a small additional few.
- Natalie (9/5): Great location, short walk to restaurants and a nice stroll to the pier - The welcome box was a nice touch, lovely to have fresh milk on arrival! Useful to have the option of parking which was close by.
- Alison (10/5): Exceptional - It was clean modern and comfortable and right in town
- Jovita (10/5): Exceptional - Nice and clean place, easy communication, everything was explained in details how to get where. Shops and restaurants walking distance
- Priyanka (8/5): Perfect place for an overnight stay! - The property location was perfect, just on the front of mumbles. The property was fantastic overall. Just a few minor things we picked up on was the lack of full length mirrors on the property and the lack of windows too.
- Ros (8/5): Clean and great location - Great location, close to everything Mumbles has to offer. Very clean and has most of the things needed for a great stay. Difficulties with tv was annoying as with 2 sleepy kids we just wanted to chill out. Personal Amazon Fire login is necessary to watch anything other than News channels.
- Kathryn (10/5): Exceptional - Spacious apartment
Very clean and comfortable
- Vijay (8/5): Very good -
- Monigho (9/5): Pleasant comfortable stay, but Additional facilities needed to be value for money - Great location for mumbles and to travel.around swansea. It is spacious with a fully equipped kitchen.
Kitchen can be cold as no heating in there. But it is easy to control temperature for the rest of the apartment No full length mirrors . It would have been great if there was a separate toilet , to use when bathroom is occupied. Also no windows in the bedrooms may take getting used to.
- Heidi (10/5): Gem - Location amazing, secure and bonus parking.
Host fantastic with communication.
Plenty of space and spotless
- Sudharshan (1/5): Bad - They didn’t provide breakfast and Nothing in room To much expensive compare to other hotels and car park road is very dangerous even you cant park the car properly
- Debora (9/5): Really well organised by host and clean property, easy to find and parking close by. Perfect for our overnight stay in - Convenient for Swansea and The Mumbles - parking just behind the property up a short hill.
- Adam (10/5): Idyllic place for a weekend break - Location was perfect for both Swansea centre and the Mumbles. Very quiet throughout the evening (even with a pub next door) and morning with a lovely view over the sea.
Host was very engaging and prepared, contact was faultless… We could have checked in much earlier than we did and had we not travelled from such a distance this would have been really helpful and beneficial.
Facilities are spot on and the apartment with bunk beds is absolutely massive - the pictures do not do it justice at all. Bread, milk, cereal, coffee pods and Welsh cakes were all there ready for our arrival which was a really lovely touch.
Will certainly stay here again when travelling to the area to see family. Parking which based on the permit/restrictions are entirely out of the properties hands but you can find on street parking outside and dotted about.
- Candy (10/5): Lovely Apartment and pleasant stay - There was some lovely personal touches ie - breakfast basket, bread, biscuits, cereal, milk ect and a nice welcome card. Instruction was easy to follow and very well informative. JP was very accommodation and easy to get hold of. We had pleasant stay and will stay again. Location is fantastic, we walked everywhere, there was so many places to eat and lovely walks along the promenade. There is nothing, if I have to be picky it could be just that it is very new and just need finishing off on decor. Other then that there is nothing, its lovely and pleasant stay.
- Frost (8/5): Modern Clean Property in ideal location for exploring the Mumbles and Gower Peninsula. Friendly Host - Modern, Clean property, recently refurbuished and great location for exploring the mumbles. Great communication with the owner pre arrival and nice little breakfast box and milk, tea and coffee incuded. Would rather have paid the £5 for parking in the main cost than have to mess about paying £5 locally. Fire doors have very strong springs on them creating a big BANG! every time you let a door close. (small details not a big issue).
- Smith (10/5): Staying here was perfect, really low price aswell. Would definitely stay again! - The property was really clean and looked after and very spacious
- Esty (10/5): Great location, lovely apartment, helpful owners and really comfortable stay! - The apartment was across the road from the sea, easy to find using the directions sent by JP and Gemma. The apartment was spacious, beautifully decorated and really nicely kitted out with modern, attractive and useful things! Plenty of nice things for breakfast and coffees. Plenty of info provided on how to use everything. We felt very comfortable there. Thank you! :)
- Alan (10/5): Exceptional -
