Guest Reviews
- Ashiq97 (6/5): - Location Amenities.
- Rebecca (8/5): Was lovely clean and quiet. - Local to places very clean and easy to access. It’s a very tight house if a larger person was to book it may be difficult with the width but that is through no fault of anything just how the homes are built.
- Michael (10/5): - Was really happy with stay a couple of pans and a dish needed washing but would stay here again A couple of pots hadn't been washed properly.
- saska (9/5): - Owners were in contact very helpfull we enjoyed are stay close to town will book again next time.
- Alan (10/5): Excellent would definitely stay here again - Very nice warm close to everything you need Everything was great
- Linda (10/5): Perfect for what we needed, no issues, everything as described. - Excellent location, clean and comfortable. Exceptional communication from the hosts Stairs were a little steep and narrow for me personally. This was on a purely personal level, the rest of our party were fine with them, but my mobility is not as good as theirs.
- Abbie (10/5): Lovely stay - ideal for a what we needed for our family of 5 adults and a child - The property was exactly how it was described, perfect size for our family, 5 adults and a 4 year old.
The location was perfect for what we needed and only a short drive to the beach.
Very clean and comfortable.
Bedding supplied for everyone and enough towels for everyone for the stay.
Plenty of appliances, amenities and even board games for the family!
Would highly recommend The parking outside was hit and miss but still managed to get a space for both the cars we had
- Caroline (3/5): Would definitely not recommend and would definitely not stay here again. - Beds were comfortable Location not great, Cleanliness was poor, crumbs in pan, grease on plates - just not properly cleaned. Outside table and washing line had bird poo on (not fresh which can’t be helped but old) Don’t leave games in the property if bits missing, flat batteries 🤷🏼♀️ no lock on shower door, no mirror in shower room - these would be cheap to rectify.
There was a leak when we arrived, easily fixed but despite sending photographs no reply from owners.
Looks like it needs refurbished. Definitely NOT four stars!

- Mr T (10/5): - Communication with the hosts who provided lots of useful information prior to the stay. The property is great value and is very well presented. It comfortably accommodated my family and I, who were visiting Whitby for an event. The only reason I have not graded location higher is that the property was 30 minutes from Whitby. However, for a Scarborough location, it would be excellent. Beds were super comfy, and the location seemed quiet, resulting in a good night sleep. Parking is on the road side down a relatively narrow road so if you have a larger car or SUV it may be a problem. For our mid-size hatchback it was fine and we were able to park close to the property. There is a car park close by which could help.
- Shelagh (8/5): - Good location.
Good communication from owners Parking's a bit of a pain,. Overnight is free but only 2 hours with clock disc, and no return during the day. It's easier to park on the 24hr just round the corner on Dean Street £6 for 24 hrs
- Heather (10/5): Great stay - Great internet, heating and nice and clean Would have liked an extra toilet!
- Georgia (9/5): -
- Caroline (10/5): Perfect for a little stay - Great location, had everything we needed Nothing - was really good
- Ben (7/5): Close to North & South Bay & Peasholm. - The property was clean, plenty of towels and the beds were comfy. The communication was great from the owners and very thorough. The property was warm and well insulated. On entrance to the property, the step outside is broken. The blind in living room was damaged as was the window pane in the bathroom on the internal side. The downstairs had a smell of damp. Only supplied 1 toilet roll for 4 adults, 3 children which is only minor but still overlooked. One toilet for a property over 3 floors was problematic, if there was a toilet on third floor bathroom that would of been ideal. Maybe we should of read the description better.
- Samantha (6/5): It was clean and comfortable - It was clean and comfortable, had all the facilities you'd need, was lovely that they left you little things to get you started, like some sachets of tea, coffee, sugar and milk, washing up liquid etc It wasn't made clear, if at all, it was 3 stories high, my husband has bad knees and with the only toilet being halfway up a landing it's not the most convenient place. One of the twin beds was hard as stone but the other beds were very comfortable. I did feel disappointed being asked to strip the beds. I had 2 nights away all summer and it ended with chores I'd do at home. I know it was a request, and I didn't have to, but still felt I should and then by then time I got to the 5th and last bed, just felt resentful my short break ended with me doing housework.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Arriving at the property it was very well equipped for a family stay. We did encounter a few problems however a quick phone call to the host and we had a handy man on the door step within 5 mins. The host was extremely helpful and sorted out the problems straight away. We’ve had a wonderful stay! Thank you.
- Teewhy (10/5): A true home 🏡 away from home 👌🥰 - I love the fresh fragrance that welcomed us as we opened the main door. The atmosphere was full of life as we entered the beautifully decorated and well furnished apartment. Lots of rooms, beds, spaces, facilities and essentials 👌
I love the fact that there is a second floor with a second double bed that provides the option for privacy for couples, but I and my husband chose to stay on the first floor which has two double bedrooms, one with twin beds where our children slept, and another with a double and a single bed.
We are a family of four. However, the Trafagal is an excellent apartment and will conveniently accommodate a family of 7-8.
Oh, I love the bath 🛁 and the wide shower head, I was in and out of the shower like a breeze and felt refreshed💆♀️🧖♀️
The Trafalgar is indeed home away from home 🏡🥰

- Susan (6/5): Overall a pleasant stay - Well equipped
Clean bedding
Plenty towels
Good communication from hosts Outside seating area not pleasant
Could be made more appealing.
- Rowson (8/5): -
- shaun (10/5): Perfect place local to everything you need. - Perfect location for purpose of our trip
Great communication with the hosts Alex & Amber Only one slight downfall, could do with a mirror in the bathroom
- Stephen (9/5): Superb - Excellent location for the open air theatre, great communication from the owners, very clean and tidy, would use again
- Amanda (5/5): Passable - Location - great for the open air theate Only one toilet. Not clean. No welcome pack.
- Mark (9/5): Great location, no bells or whistles. - This was a no hassle house. Everything we needed for a 1 night stay was taken care of. The WiFi was unavailable, but we were only there for 1 night.
- Terri (6/5): Family times - It was comfortable and had facilities we appeared to lose a key without even going out. We looked every where but could not find it the owner got us a replacement next day As we have a toddler who is learning to walk there were parts of the wall I needed to wash down as were dirty and we did not want her touching them. But it was not a big deal. At least we noticed it. Didn't like the stairs but it is explained so we were expecting them . No mirror in the shower/bathroom which was a nuisance.
- Chris (10/5): Friends and family in town for Pendulum gig. - Great location for Scarborough Open Air Theatre. Hosts were excellent with all communications and very accommodating. Lovely house with on street parking using a permit, I used the car park around the corner because I was in my van and it was easier. Highly recommended. We slept in the loft bedroom, which could have done with darker cover over the window. I must stress that this was my psycho wife's observation, as I slept like a baby 😃
- Andrea (7/5): Good - Very clean property Didn’t like the narrow stairs, it was very clean and but getting dated
- Andrew (9/5): Was a comfortable well maintained great location house - Location ,parking and clean and comfortable None
- Natalie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Louise (6/5): Nice house, everything in it what you need. The street where its located was not very nice. - we liked the size of the house and the on street parking Bathroom and toilet on different levels. also hose not ready when we arrived at 3.10pm, contacted the host who got it sorted straight away. also the washer was leaking onto the floor in the utility room we mopped it up a few times them we looked at the back of the washer and turned off the water supply. i messaged the hosts and someone came the next morning to have a look.
- Louise (8/5): Very good -
- Ellen (10/5): Exceptional - Great price. Great location. Clean. Great shower. Friendly hosts. Could do with a lick of paint if I have to comment anything.
- Philip (9/5): Superb -
- Sharon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lesley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Knight (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anthony (8/5): Very good -
- Justyna (10/5): Exceptional - Very well equipped kitchen, very clean, large rooms, comfortable beds, warm, ok surroundings, close to the center, I am very satisfied. Everything's fine
- Grant (4/5): Uncomfortable and very disappointing. - Beds uncomfortable.
Mattresses stained and no protectors.
Top bedroom has peeling paint and the light fitting above the bed was very dirty.
No bannister rail near toilet so would worry about children or elderly.
One bathroom with no toilet in it on the top floor again no good for children and elderly.
Outside space was very dirty and green and slimy. Needed a good deep clean and jet wash.
A very strong smell of neighbours smoking outside that definitely was not tobacco.
- Khalida (5/5): Passable - Proximity to town centre Wasn't clean, food stuffs on the floor (we had a toddler) dirty pots, toothpaste in sink, no bin liner in kitchen bin
- Grace (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was spotless clean! Lovely little cosy house! The Board games was a winner we have lots of laughs playing them with the kids! Such a family friendly place to stay with a short walk to loads of attractions
- Rachael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amy (7/5): Good - Spacious, and they accommodated two more people last minute.
It was in a quiet area. Some areas (sofa, toilet, etc) required a clean.
Only 1 sachet of coffee, several tea bags, and a few milk sachets, which was disappointing. Having stayed in similar for a similar price previously, I'd expected at least decent tea and coffee provisions.
Only one toilet.
- Kathryn (10/5): Very comfortable, communication was excellent, great location - Great location. Very spacious- so many beds! Kitchen had everything we needed The check out time
- Joanna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joshua (10/5): Perfect cosy house for a group of friends - Nice house perfect for our little weekend getaway
- Emma (9/5): Nice cozy 3 bed home from home - Cosy house which was a great base for a weekend away with friends. Would also be great for families for longer stays as there is everything you need, such as a utility room with washer and dryer, games, books, Netflix. Very good value for money. It was fine, but with several adults or if we stayed with children, a second loo in the bathroom on the top floor would be great. Although it was cold and we didn't need to use the back yard, there were black bin bags thrown out there. If we'd have wanted to bring our dog, we would have had to move them ourselves. They looked as though they had Xmas things in so probably been there a few weeks, owners may not be aware if a previous guest did it at Xmas?
- Ben (9/5): Superb -
- Lee (9/5): Superb - Inside was perfect
- Jenny (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chauhan (9/5): Superb - Very clean and comfortable property Couldn’t find parking disc during the stay.
- Claire (6/5): Good value for money - Clean, close to all amenities
- Kelly (10/5): Exceptional -
- Allan (9/5): Superb - Great location. Rooms are a great size and it was clean and warm. We only stayed a short while but wouldn't hesitate to go back. Double room on first floor matress was uncomfortable all others were great though
- Strangekiiti (6/5): Scarborough stay - the house is very clean and it was warm. the house itself is fine but only one shower on the very top floor and one toilet on the middle floor which makes it awkward for more than a couple. there is no banister for the middle floor half staircase , making it unsafe for children. the kitchen is ok but the draining board leaks into the cutlery drawer and I had to wash all the cutlery before use, as the water was dirty.
the kettle could do with a descale.
there was no lamp in the living room and the settee seat springs are gone.
the beds aren't very comfy , cheap mattresses, with no topper .
the TV is really high up on the wall, and you have to look up with head back to see it
I understand that these things are financial add-ons to comfort but I've stayed in places cheaper and better appointed. overall it was ok but I wouldn't have been happy if I was here for more than two nights
- Michelle (8/5): Very good -
- Chloe (8/5): I would 100% stay again - It was lovely and warm when we walked in and games for the kids and nice and cosy and we had a good night sleep The only thing the washing machine was not working and the cooker was dirty
- Ann (9/5): Kaylo - Near shops and centre parking was easy Wasnt keen on stairs but it was ok
- Michelle (10/5): Lovely short break - Cosy house in a central location
- Margaret (7/5): Danger keep out.c - There are several staircases one of which had no railings if you fell over you would fall down a full flight of stairs. I was so worried about my small grandchildren falling and severely hurting themselves. It's a real safety hazard. Why would you not put up a railing along these 6 stairs when all the others had them is absolutely beyond me. I was so worried one of my grandchildren got up during the night to visit the loo which is located next to the danger area. Needless to say lights were left on. Stairs leading to the top bedroom too steep. The mattress on the double bed next to the bathroom was absolutely disgusting. Dirty ripped at corners which were covered in black bacteria. Was it salvaged from the local tip. No mirror in bathroom. Lounge not too bad but a little dark.
- Heather (7/5): A pleasant stay in the North beach location with lovely hosts. - The helpful messages from the hosts, Amber & Alex.
The Trafalgar was well equipped for guests. The keybox entry system worked well. The bathroom and toilet were spotless. The sofa, beds, dining table and chairs were modern and comfortable. Lots of board games provided. On street parking for 3 hrs outside. A quiet location 15 mins stroll to the pedestrianised centre. A patch of paint was flaking off the wall above the bed in the top bedroom. The steps to the toilet from the top floor were very steep and a hand rail would provide more security. A nightlight for the staircase might also be useful as they are so steep. We had been forewarned about this by the hosts.
The check out time of 10am seemed quite early, especially as we were asked to strip our beds.
- Sandra (4/5): Not great - Great location for walking to Peasholm Park, the beach, arcades and the town centre. There were 3 issues that reduced my rating score. I tried ALL the mattresses on the beds & only found one that was acceptable. The very worst was the double one in the bedroom on first floor it was shocking & needs changing. I can’t believe that the hosts actually expected someone to sleep on that mattress You could feel every “spring” the best was the single bed in that same room. The steepness of the stairs and lack of a hand rail/bannister was very scary for myself and particularly for my 4 year old grandson. On top of that at the top of the first flight of stairs where the only toilet was situated quite frankly was dangerous. Nothing to hold on to and you could easily of fallen over on to the stairs below. It should say in the details not suitable for children or elderly people. No toilet in the top floor bathroom and having to come down that flight of steep stairs with nothing to hold on to in the night to the only toilet on the first floor was scary.
- Darren (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gary (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (10/5): Lovely clean house, had everything we needed and central to everything, owners were in constant contact throughout . - Extremely clean lots of space close to town centre and short walk to the beach, close to north and south Bay
Had everything we needed for our stay, would definitely recommend and will be back. Nothing was an amazing stay
- Alex (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gavin (9/5): Superb -
- Derek (10/5): we were a party of 4 and we all thought the property was excellent. we would love to stay again. - great place to stay, very close to the town, great rooms, plenty of free parking, rooms super clean. nothing
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adam (10/5): Fantastic place to stay with your family for a few days away. - Clean cosy place. Nice and big plenty of space. Brilliant communication would definitely go again. House has everything you need. If you’re staying in Scarborough I would highly recommend this place.
- Laura (10/5): Highly recommend. - Very clean, comfy beds and sofa, beautifully decorated. Well laid out home from home, perfect for the kids to unwind after a long day out in Scarborough - much better than being stuck in a hotel room when they get tired!
Close to the centre and the beaches. There were 2 adults and 3 children in our party, plenty of space for us and we all loved it.
Communication from Amber and Alex was excellent.
- Stephen (3/5): Not as expected - N/A Entering property looked ok but after entering broken blinds in lounge bits all over sofas no ironing facilities as advertised other reviews say had welcome pack we didnt have, leaking water in cutlery drawer making utensils rust, kitchen taps connected wrongly ie cold to hot/ hot to cold. No curtains in attic bedroom daylight from early morning, paint hanging off wall we didnt sleep well at all, had to go out and buy tin opener not one supplied as should be standard. On morning of departure we were txt to ask if we had taken towels with us as not there so their cleaner says!! I collected all towels and placed them in the bathroom sink so they were not left hanging about with being damp but the property owner keeps banging on about towel disappearance, the towels we had were hand towels size of tea towel !!! As if we would to take these!! To be quite honest if i hadnt mentioned the iron & ironing board missing during our stay they would have probably accused us of taking them !!! I suggest that the owners take more responsibility for the property on change over starting with basic check list!? The first staircase needs a hand rail for guest’s safety! My wife got stuck in the toilet for half an hour as the bolt lock came off in her hand so i had to feed a steel ruler in our car to feed under the door to unscrew the screws to take off the bolt myself so she could get out! After that i fixed the lock myself so it wouldn’t happen to anyone else! Its a shame because it could be a perfect house to stay in if it was up to standard. The backyard could do with a bit of sprucing up to make it more inviting. Sorry but unfortunately we wont be returning.
- Claire (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely house . Great location. Lovely welcome basket .
- Claire (10/5): A family of 7 of us rented the house for 2 nights. It is a lovely house in a great location. The house has everything yo - Lovely house in a great location
