Guest Reviews
- Georgina (10/5): Great, highly reccomend - The cottage was cosy and like a home from home, i loved how easy it was to check in.
- sophie (10/5): -
- TINA (8/5): Lovely cottage - Locations was great, lovely to sit outside by the stream. Nice cottage, just what we needed. Couple things need attention, lock on toilet door is broken.
- Svitlana (9/5): I would definitely recommend Creek Cottage to anyone looking for a quiet and cozy getaway, and I would love to come back - I had a wonderful stay at Creek Cottage in Cornwall. The cottage is cozy, clean, and beautifully decorated, with everything needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The location is perfect — peaceful and surrounded by nature, yet still close to local attractions, shops, and the coast.
One of the highlights was the lovely atmosphere and the scenic views around the cottage. It’s an ideal place to unwind, go for walks, and enjoy the charm of Cornwall.
The host was very friendly and helpful, making sure everything was perfect during our stay.
- Tamsin (10/5): Great family stay - Spacious rooms, good for a family stay. Well appointed kitchen. Great location for visiting Falmouth, Swanpool beach and The Helford area. Nice to have the creek running alongside the back garden. Welcome cream tea was a lovely touch, thank you Furnishings and carpets weren't plush but all fully serviceable
- Clare (9/5): - Spacious, warm, parking right outside, quiet location Nothing
- Simon (1/5): -
- Paula (8/5): - Lovely place to stay near lots of things. Nice and quiet When we moved the side table and sofa to play a game there was dirt behind and under. No hand wash in downstairs toilet and take toilet roll as ran out as 6 people. But only 1 spare.
- Eleanor (9/5): Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay here in the future. - The downstairs was so spacious the photos online don’t really do it justice. There was nothing negative to say
- Adam (10/5): Would stay again - Nice and spacious. Was a little cold to start took about a day to warm up.
- Beverley (6/5): Our stay in Cornwall was lovely but Creek Cottage was rather too isolated for us. Great if you want a very peaceful brea - It was clean and comfortable Lack of facilities on site
Lack of basic supplies
- Robert (7/5): - The apartment was in a pleasant setting, had three bedrooms and a reasonable sized living area. Wi fi worked well. Parking was easily accessible. No communication from the property manager, I had to call him to get the instructions.
No hair dryer, limited kitchen utensils, few instructions on appliances, ceiling mounted heater with switches on the ceiling: the bedroom heater did not work. There was a portable heater that was unsafe.and this was included in the instructions. There was no plan of the resort. The apartment was difficult to locate on google maps and the roads leading into the village were very narrow even by English standards.
- Manish Prahlad (10/5): -
- Kayleigh (10/5): - Everything about it was perfect.
- Grazyna (10/5): We had a wonderful stay at the cottage and would consider booking again. - It was spacious and well equipped. The cottage is located in a beautifully presented holiday development, family oriented and calm, with easy access to Falmouth and beaches. The owner left us cream tea and biscuits, which was a lovely gesture that made us feel welcome. It would be great to have a vacuum cleaner and more hooks for towels in the bathrooms.
- Julie (10/5): Très bien 👍🏼 - La tranquillité et la végétation ☺️ rien
- Natalie Howes (8/5): -
- Alex (8/5): - Lovely area, nice and quiet. Perfect for the family getaway 😁 The oven hadn't been checked as there were dirty trays still in there. Also, there were no cleaning supplies like a dustpan and brush or even a broom. With all laminate flooring downstairs, I would have expected some form of sweeping implement!
- Evirgen (1/5): Dirty, decrepitude, disappointing - The location is lovely. The house is poorly furnished and the photographs seem to have been taken several years ago, probably when the property was new. It feels like no maintenance has been carried out since then and the cleaning carried out before our arrival was minimal. All the windows, ceilings, exterior fittings and door frames had cobwebs hanging from them. The patio furniture was in such a bad state that it couldn't be used, three broken chairs - a serious health and safety matter - for 4 people and a table in such a poor state that we didn't want to eat off it. The clothes horse in a smelly untidy cupboard was rusty, broken and looked like it had been dragged out of a skip. There was a crushed empty bottle of washing up liquid with water in the bottom and a dead flower on the kitchen window sill. We had to wash most of the glasses, pans and cutlery, as they had bits of dried food stuck on them. Some of the kitchen cupboards were stuffed with plastic bags and assorted items that didn't seem to be for the use of guests. The walls, doors, windows and carpets were drab and poorly maintained. The bedroom furniture was rackety and some drawers wouldn't open properly. The house in general smelt stale, and almost everything looked old and grubby.
The television and DVD player were very old and didn't function properly. There were 4 remote controls but none worked.
We complained to the owner on the evening of our arrival (Sunday) about the lack of cleaning, the television and the broken patio furniture. They ignored us. We wrote again on Tuesday and they replied saying they had ordered patio furniture but that it couldn't be delivered until Thursday (we were leaving on the Friday morning). They said that the cleaners weren't available. They also said they didn't know about the 4 remote controls and suggested that previous guests had left them in the property. We felt that the owner was waiting for us to shut up and go away.
- Manish (9/5): Superb - We had a lovely stay at Creek Cottage! The location was fantastic — peaceful and surrounded by nature, yet only a short drive into Falmouth town. One of the best parts was how close it was to several beautiful beaches. Maenporth Beach, Swanpool, and Gyllyngvase were all within a 5 to 10-minute drive, making beach visits super convenient for both morning strolls and afternoon swims.
Overall, a great base for exploring Cornwall’s coastline. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful yet well-located holiday home near the beach.
Last but not the least property owner was really helpful and understanding, especially when we requested for help – it's clear they genuinely care about guest problems , comfort and experience. A couple of small things could have made the stay even better. It would have been nice to have basic toiletries like shower gel provided, and the seating area outside the cottage, which has a lovely view of the surrounding nature, could be more comfortable. The existing chair was broken, which made it difficult to enjoy a morning cup of tea outdoors.
Overall, it’s a great place in a peaceful setting, and with a few small touches.
- Paramjit (9/5): Jolly boyz - Location is great, not too far from main town. Quite area and was clean. Iron was missing. Tea bags and some milk would have been a nice touch.
- James (9/5): Superb - Great space
Vet clean Having to use taxis to Falmouth but expected.
- Inga (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sally (10/5): Great stay in Falmouth - Well equipped and great location. Great treat to have scones on arrival - thank you. We would have liked to have information about how to use the appliances in the kitchen (oven and dishwasher). Also what we should do when we left, strip the beds? Where to leave rubbish?
- Karen (9/5): Cosy and comfortable, lovely location very clean cottage. We hope to return. - The scones and biscuits were a nice touch. Thank you. Was given the wrong key box code by Booking.com
- Antony (8/5): Very good -
- Colin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adrienne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Natasha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Owen (8/5): Very good -
- Carol (9/5): Spacious accommodation in good location for exploring the area - Location very convenient
Spacious accommodation
Everything we needed was at the cottage
Parking right outside
Nice area with table and chairs to sit outside All fine
- Hedubois (8/5): It was ok - Self catered Would have been useful to have been told what was present or not. Eg toiletries just say for example no shower gel/ shampoo is provided so that customers know
No spare toilet rolls
- Walker (6/5): Pleasant - A few more hooks (on back of bedroom door and in hallway for coats) would have been useful. A measure jug in the kitchen. A couple of table lamps in lounge would be more homely.
- Shing (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jaikishan (10/5): Fantastic stay with very friendly hosts. - Fantastic Location; Great communication from the hosts and answered all our queries straight away.
The house itself was great and met all our requirements, and the 'backyard creek' was just lovely to sit and relax in the evenings. The welcome snacks were a great touch and very handy on the beach the next day! :) The estate is poorly lit and Google Maps had the "wrong house", so finding the house was challenging the night we arrived, not fault of the property, just the way the estate is. Got there in the end and everything else was great!
- Vikram (10/5): Good place for holidays, Definately will recommend to friends - Like this place and all facilities provided. Nothing to mention as all facilities was as mentioned.
- Aimee (8/5): Nice stay at creek cottage. - The location of this property is beautiful. The house is very spacious with comfortable beds. Everything you need in the kitchen to cook a decent meal. Parking right outside property. Host left scones, cream, jam and biscuits which was very nice. Patio needs de-weeding. Tiny amount of toilet roll and hand soap on arrival. Upstairs, lots of thick dust/dirt on photo frames, lamps and bathroom extractor fan. Iron and ironing board would be handy.
- Ricky (10/5): Peaceful, quiet, relaxing and a beautiful place to stay - To sum it up we loved everything. It is a lovely, clean place to stay and we would love to stay again soon. And the beds were amazing best nights sleep we have had in a long time. There was nothing not to like
- Dawn (10/5): Lovely 3 days In beautiful surroundings - Clean, spacious, everything provided , scones , cream and jam were a lovely touch. Nothing to dislike at all
- Stephen (8/5): Really enjoyed our stay and would happily return. - Great location very peaceful, spacious . The welcome pack biscuits scones jam and cream were a lovely thought. Nothing to really dislike just a few minor things only - Cooker dials difficult to read not logical. Coasters and place mats would have been helpful. We did not see a dustpan and brush. It did not say that towels were provided on your website info, we brought our own which were not needed. Additional bedside lamps would be good. The reception on the TV was poor, location I guess. Needed the electric fire on in the evening as the heating was set a little cool. A more substantial toaster might be more practical if cottage was full. Some local info for those arriving would be useful - beaches, pubs, food and walks close by.
- Emily (8/5): Very good - It was comfortable and a nice quiet relaxing place to be.
We didn't meet any of the staff on site but the site seemed well kept.
We liked that the check in and property access details were given with the booking information. We were disappointed to find that the property didn't come with a washing machine and dryer as stated in the description. The description should state that it's an on site laundrette thats available and list the costs as we're unprepared with coins for the machines.
The description also states that the hot tub and pool is private to the house not that it's used by the site and is private in the sense of not being accessed by public. Neither wrre available during our stay but would be a helpful update 9n the description for future bookers.
- Ross (9/5): Very cosy, comfy and good value - The proximity to our friends in Falmouth who were the reason for our trip along with being really good value for money We had a little trouble finding the unit, a mixture of the unit number being very dull and name plate not being up where it could be seen but mostly due to poor google maps advice
