Guest Reviews
- Davinder (5/5): It was okay - The location was nice The wet room I would have liked the shower and toilets separate as the whole floor got wet. Also it wasn’t real value for money for one nights stay
- Paul (7/5): Ok great location and room was nice - Nice size room Was in room next to reception so quite noisy
- Nish (10/5): -
- Karl (8/5): -
- Julien (8/5): Parfait pour une nuit lorsqu’on veut découvrir la région - Chambre spacieuse et confortable
Très bon petit déjeuner
Grande salle de bain Employés expéditifs
- Richard (10/5): Very comfortable and lovely relaxing place to stay. Not the cheapest but worth every penny. - Lovely spacious and warm rooms. The staff were so welcoming and the evening meal and breakfast were superb.
Location is just outside the village and we included staying here while walking on the Coast path.
Big thankyou to all concerned, the cleaners the chefs and the Waitress who served us.

- westbury (10/5): - Fantastic location high up in the Purbecks, ample free & safe parking on site with easy access to all rooms when carrying luggage or negotiating with a dog on its lead. Perfectly placed to access some amazing walks, Bedroom was so comfortable & homely, quality mattress, plentiful pillows, nice thick Egyptian cotton sheets with a huge wet room style en-suite, furniture & decor was top notch befitting the period barn style. Staff were all amazing, very helpful & knowledgeable, breakfast is right up there with the best using farm fresh local ingredients. Highly recommended & will definitely stay again. Nothing to dislike other than g
oing back to work! 😞😞😞

- Fiona (10/5): I will definitely be booking again, it’s a hidden gem. - The Kingston Country Courtyard was a great place, friendly and welcoming staff, spotlessly clean, comfortable bed and breakfast was delicious. The dinner menu was varied , locally sourced ingredients and not “run of the mill “. Beautiful views from the garden. It’s also on a bus route. Great value for money. Nothing
- Joanna (9/5): -
- Keith (10/5): -
- Louise (9/5): - lovely little studio suite, great breakfast and a stunning location
- Julie (10/5): We enjoyed every single minute. - The entire experience. N/A
- Tamara (9/5): Lovely stay & dog friendly. - Lovely large room & superb bed & pillows. Breakfast was great & our 1 evening visit to the restaurant was amazing. Very dog friendly & the bus stop at the entrance was great - very good service we bussed to Corfe then steam train to Swanage & bus back to the door. The shower head is not to my liking, rainfall head only which worked fine in the wet room.
We had a little noise from a fan but only noticeable due to there being total silence otherwise.
- Elisabeth (10/5): Great for walkers - This was a brilliant stop for walkers. They were happy to accomodate us for one night. Had a beautiful breakfast that they were happy to provide at 7.30 AND upgraded our room. Nothing
- Malcolm (8/5): Very good friendly service - Very good selection and all cooked fresh Nothing
- Matt (10/5): -
- Vik (8/5): Ideal for the nights stay. Beautiful location and room view - Ideal for what we wanted
- Hamilton (10/5): Loved it. Will definitely visit again - Very nice place in a stunning location. .
- Sharon (8/5): - Dog friendly
Beautiful surroundings
Nice breakfast
Welcoming staff In my room there were blinds which did not block out the outside lights at night
- Caroline (5/5): - The staff were very helpful, it was a peaceful location within reach of the coastal path We had to book a dinner, b and b package, whereas we would have preferred to have the option of dining out.
The portions were generous but favoured quantity over quality.
It was very expensive given the facilities
The rooms were a bit grim - we felt there was insufficient investment in keeping the property up to date, especially given the high price
- Deborah (10/5): Excellent stay. Very peaceful location, great size rooms. Excellent breakfast! X -
- peter (9/5): -
- Irene (8/5): -
- Simon (8/5): Quiet, efficient and good value. - All was well, the breakfasts were good, the one evening meal we had ditto. Our room was comfortable and the servicing thereof very good. It was particularly useful finding that we had a fridge….! The staff were universally bright and pleasant. Nothing, had we had a room overlooking the courtyard than maybe noise could have been a problem, somewhat spurious point that one! As it was our accommodation was nice and quiet!
- Hans-Joachim (9/5): schöner Aufenthalt im Landhausstil - Wir bekamen bei der Ankunft gleich ein kostenfreies Upgrade für das Zimmer. Dadurch gab es viel Platz für das Gepäck. Gutes Frühstück in angenehmer Atmosphäre. Schöne gepflegte Anlage Badezimmer sollte beheizbar sein
- Stuart (9/5): - Room very large and well equipped, including fridge. Very comfortable bed.
All the staff incredibly friendly and helpful.
Great panoramic views from the large garden area Early morning traffic noise through window in "Granary" bedroom (room is first floor but one end is right by the roadside). Secondary glazing for acoustic insulation would probably help.
Seemed quiet for rest of day after mid-morning.
Early morning wake admittedly perhaps good for passionate honeymooners.
- liz (10/5): Great location just outside Corfe spectacular views. Ideal L - Lovely location, friendly and helpful staff. The food in the onsite restaurant was excellent.
- Pat (10/5): Always pleasurable. My ‘go to’ property when visiting the area. - Ideal location for walkers. Dog-friendly too. Everything excellent in my opinion
- Jan (8/5): - Excellent choices for breakfast.
- Cath (6/5): - Location and room superb, clean and comfortable. No cleaning or stock replenishment happened during our stay however. y.
Evening meal was good, but breakfast must have a different chef. Someone who doesn't relish their job, or appreciate their guests. Mushrooms on toast should not consist of one solitary lonely mushroom! Would have liked to see decent bread on offer at the buffet selection. Could do much better at breakfast. The serving staff were helpful.
- Jane (7/5): -
- Steven (9/5): A little gem of a place to stay that really makes dog owner's welcome. - Staff were really helpful, Menu in the restaurant was a little limited for the evening meal but the quality of the food both for dinner and breakfast the following morning was excellent. The place is certainly dog friendly with the room being very spacious even with our dogs crate being in the room. The walk in shower meant that we could have hosed the dog down should we have needed to. Towels at the font reception for dogs is a an excellent idea and although we didn't take our dog to the restaurant with us it was a welcome option.
An excellent place to stay and we will certainly make a return visit. Thee was some previous damage to the downstairs carpet that could have developed into a bit of a trip hazard. The beer selection at the bar was a little limited but I am nit picking and both my wife and I had an excellent stay.
- Dibesh (8/5): - Great location, very friendly staff, room was comfy, the shower is a wet room style so may not be everyone liking but everything else was amazing including views.
- Toby (9/5): An incredible find! - An incredible find - and such great value for money!
Amazing breakfast, a really cosy room, friendly staff and brilliant location (on the bus route to Swanage), with the coast only a little walk away. Awesome views from just outside the property too.
- Samantha (10/5): A real gem of a stay! - Absolutely exceptional in every way - a real gem!
- Tamsyn (9/5): Beautiful location, helpful staff, and excellent breakfast - Breakfast was exceptional and a credit.
Location is so lovely, right in the countryside, driving on the road to get there gives a stunning view of Corfe Castle down in the valley.
The building itself is reminiscent of stables in a courtyard. And loads of parking right before the courtyard, so really close to room, but keeping the quiet and uncluttered spirit of the place without the eyesore of cars.
Room itself was lovely, and views to the gardens very idyllic in these absolutely stunning windows.
Short walk into the town over, where we went to a nice local pub. The place does do dinner, and if breakfast is a marker, maybe that would've been a great shout.
The whole place just felt very wow factor, and the staff were extremely attentive and helpful. Our room had a wet room en suite. This is certainly not a deal-breaker for us, the bathroom was lovely and worked well, just maybe not my preference. But mentioning in case anyone with some mobility issues may struggle, or actually find this more useful, as there's no step up for the shower lip.
- Carole (10/5): We have stayed several times and always find the staff very welcoming and helpful - Well located for stunning coastal walks, beaches and good pubs
- Tracey (8/5): Excellent and fantastic value for money - Lovely views, grounds and friendly staff. Also very clean. The wet room rather than an enclosed shower. The floor was very slippery when wet
- Malcolm (9/5): Lovely quiet hotel in great location - Nice and quiet location within walking distance to a great pub. We were given an upgrade to a suite that was very well laid out.
Very clean. Great full english breakfast was included in room rate. Staff were very friendly. We knew there would be an additional charge for our dachshund dog, but it was not stated what the charge would be. We were surprised that it was as much as £14.
A small lamp would be nice in the lounge (had to use big light or no light).
It was very hot in the room and couldn't turn heating down, but window open cooled it down.
- raymond (10/5): Great Break , pleasant staff - Great staff and location Cost little High
- Emily (10/5): A lovely, peaceful stay and a great find! - Excellent location, very friendly staff, delicious room service and breakfast, beautiful room and stunning views.
- Alfie (3/5): -
- Neil (9/5): Easy to find and comfortable. - Clean and excellent bedding.
- Emily (8/5): -
- Danae (10/5): The room was warm, dry and spotless. - It was breathtaking beautiful. The room was warm, dry and spotless.
- Eloise (10/5): -
- AndrewDelamare (6/5): A great location and comfy beds. - Great location, Decent room and friendly staff. Breafast was not amazing. It felt like food by the lowest bidder.
- Katie (10/5): -
- andrew (8/5): - Loved the location. Great for walking in the area.Given ideas for local walks.Bus stop right outside. Breakfast staff very attentive and helpful. Loved the full english and fruit bowl.
- Mary Penelope (9/5): Ideal. - Excellent all round.
Wonderfully dog friendly!
- Michael (8/5): Lovely staff, lovely part of Dorset.Would stay again. - Plenty to choose from. The bed was uncomfortable, maybe more shelves in the bathroom and handle on the wall for getting in and out of bath to use shower.A mirror near a electric socket for drying your hair.Only 2 channels Woking on TV.
- Kimber (8/5): - Lovely location
Friendly staff Cooked Breakfast came out cold
- Hardiman (8/5): Will def return, a great break away, relaxing and friendly - Clean, lovely room, friendly staff, great location There was an issue with the heating in my room but it was just unlucky that I went on a particularly cold night, staff did all the could, went over and beyond
- Althea (10/5): -
- John (9/5): Excellent hotel in a fabbo area - Location in the Purbecks
Bus stop right outside Ideally the walk to the Scott Arms (which is very close ) would have an off-road option!
- Hannah (4/5): Nice location, that's where it ended - Location is great, very close to Corfe Castle My room was really good, not cosy or homely at all, very different to the image i saw on Booking.com, the water pressure in the shower was awful so i couldn't even get conditioner out my hair. No mirror in the room except a small vanity mirror so its impossible to do your hair
- Jakub (10/5): - Amazing food, very nice waiters and very accommodating staff overall. Thank you
- Lisa (8/5): - We love it here, always so friendly and the grounds are very pretty. Rooms always exceed expectation. It would of been nice to know there was a wedding event on. When we came back to our room in the evening, we couldnt get parked and the courtyard was full of cars surrounding all the rooms.
.
- Dagmar (9/5): Great location, friendly staff (espacially the young guy who welcomed us) superb breakfast - friendlyness of the staff, location and the great welcome. It was really warm and we had a nice stay maybe a bit more hot water so we could have showered all of us with hot water
- George (10/5): - Great staff, room and excellent breakfast! Nothing really
- Joanne (10/5): Super accommodation and lovely staff - Lovely staff and the room was spotlessly clean and comfortable
- lucy (10/5): -
- Jason (7/5): cold!! - the restaurant was amazing the room was freezing!! the heating was very poor indeed!!
- Tina (8/5): - Excellent location, peaceful. Delicious food prepared & cooked by a very young chef on our Saturday evening.
- Julie (4/5): Disappointing overall. - Breakfast was delicious. Staff were lovely. It was freezing in our suite. You expect a hotel to be cosy over Christmas but it was Baltic. The sofa cushions had completely collapsed and were padded out underneath with other cushions. This place could be lovely, but it’s very tired and needs investment.
- Mozsteve (7/5): -
- GANAPATHI (6/5): - Ambience of the room, staff very helpful Tv is in the living room, no heating in the bed room, twin beds combined for double bed
- Debbie (10/5): Great stay and Christmas Party. - There was nothing not to like. The venue was amazing.
The room was comfy and so clean.
Julie who checked us in took interest in our visit. She was really helpful.
We were attending a Christmas Party and the meal and Staff were very attentive.
Will definitely return and recommend. Nothing.
- Cary (10/5): -
- Catherine (8/5): Great break. Thank you 👍🤗 - The room was brilliant! Large, rustic and we loved it. But it probably wouldn't be everyone's taste for a romantic jaunt. Breakfast was great - set us up for a good day's hiking. There was only one mug and one glass!
- Michele (8/5): Nice rooms - Great location, very polite staff & helpful The restaurant food wasn't as good as I would have
expected
- Tassell (9/5): -
- Neil (8/5): -
- Karen (5/5): It was convenient because we could take our dog - Ease of access The food wasn’t great, the room was overly hot. Even when the underfloor heating temp was turned to zero, it was still incredibly hot.
- Kerri (10/5): Really lovely stay, beautiful room and lovely staff. - Beautiful property and room in the honeymoon room! There wasn’t much evening atmosphere in the dining area.
- Marilyn (4/5): Not as expetced - Heated flooring Draughty doors and the wet room was very slippery
- Colette (8/5): -
- Elizabeth (9/5): -
- Vanessa (10/5): -
- Donna (9/5): -
- Sarah (9/5): - Friendly staff. Spotlessly clean. Comfortable bed, pillows and duvet. Good breakfast. Warm room. Floor of wet room was incredibly slippery after showering
- The Creative Koala (9/5): - The price is worth a memorable and cosy stay, and in a great location close to the coastline N/a
- Angela (10/5): -
- Alejandro (10/5): -
- Simon (8/5): Quiet welcoming location with good food and confortable room - Very nice room. Large comfortable bed. Nice bathroom with bath as well as shower. Generally quiet. Breakfast also good choice and quality. Evening meal was reasonably priced and good quality, although not a huge choice. The property is located within a short walk of the nearby village which has a pub but not a lot else. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Nothing
- Andrew (9/5): Nice location friendly staff - Friendly staff Nothing really
- Anne (9/5): Would not hestiate in recommending this hotel to our family and friends, Excellent. - A lovely country hotel, fabulous views from the garden. Both our evening meal and breakfast were exceptional.
- Alexander (10/5): -
- Samantha (9/5): A wonderful stay - We were delighted to be told on arrival we had a free upgrade 😊. Our room was very clean, well furnished with a very comfortable bed and seating area with a large TV. A large bathroom/wet room was very clean with nice free toiletries. Ample supplies of tea & coffee; if you ran out the staff were more than happy to provide more if requested. The area was lovely and really quiet. Breakfast was extremely good. The cooked breakfast was lovely and hot, and of high quality, providing an ample amount to set you up for the day, with many other continental options, pastries, cereals etc. available to help yourself. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and very willing to help. Overall a wonderful stay, thank you! N/A
- tony (10/5): -
- irene (7/5): Enjoyed our stay in this lovely location. - Breakfast was excellent. Liked the fact that the restaurant was open every night for dinner. Alternative bed coverings were supplied when asked. Rooms were basic in the way of furnishings. Lack of any mats, curtains, cushions made it seem clinical and not that inviting.
- Matt (7/5): Great staff and service, but torn if I would stay there again - By far the best thing about this hotel was the service. The staff were amazing and couldn’t do more to help.
The other great thing about this property is the location. The food was in all honestly not great. I say food, I only had dinner but left both dishes I ordered. Dessert was probably the worst. I actually ate elsewhere the next night. (Breakfast looked good though so maybe give that a try)
The other thing to be aware of if you stay here (and it may have just been my room) is that the walls seemed to be paper thin between rooms. I could hear the couple next door chatting. It didn’t help that they had a baby which was obviously unsettled as babies are (I’m a Dad so nothing against that) but it obviously meant I could hear all of that through the walls when trying to sleep.
- Fiona (10/5): Great. - Clean, breakfast was lovely - view from window was lovely All good
- Tam (7/5): Beautiful setting and location with friendly and helpful staff. - Beautiful setting and location. The staff were exceptional, really friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and cosy and we loved the purbeck stone wall. The breakfast was delicious with a great deal of choice on the menu. The poached eggs were perfectly cooked. We had planned to eat out whilst exploring Swanage however there was no availability as we hadn’t booked in advance. We decided to eat dinner at the restaurant at the hotel. It was a small menu which had some great choices however the food was just ok and we were left disappointed as we were looking forward to a nice evening meal. Overpriced and not good value for more when considering portion size and quality.
- David (10/5): We enjoyed our stay. - Beautiful place with great views especially of Corfe Castle Everything was great
- marcel (7/5): -
- Graham (10/5): - The staff were so accommodating we had a great stay. Ed was great and brought us drinks and puddings.
