- Judy (8/5): An oasis of calm on a windy island - There was lots of space to spread out. A very relaxing atmosphere. Great bathroom. Good food. Lovely gardens. Friendly staff. Comfortable lounge. Walks to do straight from the hotel. Good WiFi.

- Moss (9/5): - Everything was just wonderful. The staff are amazing. Thankyou for a truly pleasant and enjoyable stay!
- Jesse (1/5): Worse experience ever in Scotland never stay here - Nothing , complete scam never ever ever stay here . The property booked my reservation knowing the ferry was down. Was literally impossible to reach this island . The hotel refused to refund the bookings and pocketed the profits . They said “ they knew the ferry wasn’t able to take a car to the island for the last 2 weeks but refused to refund the funds. “
- Steve (7/5): Lovely location but a little tired - Location Needs updating

- Liz (9/5): Love this lodge, location and comfort. Will be back. - Have been here before, really comfortable, staff offer professional and friendly service.
Thus time booked last minute when our ferry had a technical issue .
- Marc (10/5): Peaceful setting, and logistically- well accomodated - Beautiful & quiet location. Situated next to the Hebridean Way overlooking a loch with neolithic stone circle and Langass Woods within walking/ hiking distance. Staff most accommodating and food was " chef" quality. No complaints. Met our needs nicely.
- William (7/5): Pretty good - Excellent choices for breakfast Bar seated area a bit cramped
- Stephen (9/5): Withnail and I - Luxury in a remote location. Good wine list. Dogs not allowed at breakfast. I appreciate the logistics but think it could be worked out.

- cyn (9/5): last- - staff ( bar) very sweet and helpful. the road leading to property has a lot of potholes! the manual for room was confusing re: ac/heat. i was in rm 7

- Anthony (10/5): Fabulous -
- David (9/5): - Location was great. Staff were very friendly and helpful. A little variation in the evening menus - need to add a couple of extra choices for a 3-4 day stay.
- Lesley (9/5): -
- Gayle (9/5): Would definitely return - Lovely staff, great food and cozy place.
- Peter (8/5): Very good -
- Alexander (9/5): Superb - Beautiful peaceful location.
- Robert (8/5): Very good -
- Rachel (9/5): A beautiful spot and a very restful stay, with wonderful food, made this a very memorable time. - Charming staff, lovely room and excellent food, making for a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. We would happily go back. Our request for twin beds, made repeatedly online, did not get taken into account, so the bed was made up as a king and on arrival we had to ask and wait half an hour while this was rectified. We enjoyed tea in the bar lounge in the meanwhile which was very nice. A subsequent request also needed to be repeated, so we feel a little ore attention to detail would be helpful. We were also sent an express check-in on line request. It was not user-friendly and was quite unnecessary.
- Shona (10/5): Exceptional -
- Keith (2/5): As a single older guest my experience of the hotel was clearly below that of other guests. - Location Noise from neighbouring rooms.
Patronising, disrespectful attitude of staff.
As a single guest, I was obviously of low priority.
Dinner over-cooked.
Failed to respond to any of my attempts to communicate in advance of my stay.
- Mary (10/5): Exceptional - Room was super bed comfortable food was amazing and staff were too Nothing

- Natalie (10/5): Superb. - Loved the location, food was excellent well cooked, presented beautifully. The decor is fabulous and bed so comfy. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Perfect stay. Nothing
- Joanna (8/5): A little gem of a hotel for an amazing relax and chill. - Loved the total ambience of the old building. The grounds were absolutely superb to wander around in peaceful surroundings. Staff when we arrived at 2 pm were exceptionally helpful and friendly. Unfortunately when we came down for pre dinner drinks we did not experience. This was disappointing after the warm welcome at lunchtime. the same warm friendly staff.
- Stephen (10/5): Very comfortable hotel. Only wish our stay had been longer. - Breakfast was excellent. A good choice of both hot and cold available.
A good location north of the island.
If arriving at night don't be put off by the dark and slightly bumpy lane which takes you to the hotel.
Friendly staff and nothing too much trouble. Everything was exceptional No complaints at all.
- Victor (9/5): Superb - Excellent restaurant and breakfast; pleasant hosts
- Brian (5/5): Room was very cold - Very nice Heating not very good
- Roy (9/5): Returned to Island after 50 years and it was worth it. - Excellent staff and location. Breakfast and food service very good.
- Lauren (10/5): Exceptional - Love love love

- Kristin (9/5): Quaint and charming, nice location and gardens and the staff was very friendly and helpful. - Quaint and charming, nice location and gardens and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Room had a very nice view of Eaval and the gardens.
- Steven (9/5): Superb -
- Alan (8/5): An ex hunting lodge which provides an excellent location for exploring N Uist - Outstanding food, whether from the Bar menu or the Restaurant menu. We had a dog with us and were therefore restricted to the bar area but when scallops were on the menu in the restaurant (but not in the bar) the excellent staff mede sure I got my scallops! Watch out for the Steak, though. It is excellent - but enormous! Can't think of anything.
- B.race (8/5): Our stay was very good and would definitely stay again. - Breakfast had a good variety of options and the hot options were cooked perfectly. The room had two single beds which was a surprise. I found the bed somewhat narrow but okay.
- Lindsey (10/5): A fantastic hotel in a beautiful part of the world. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Food fab. - Food, service and facilities were all excellent.
- Thomas (9/5): Superb - Friendly staff, amazing location and excellent food
- Angela (9/5): Great place, hope to make it back again one day. - Loved the Inn itself and the surrounding property. Can’t think of anything I didn’t like
- Bertie (10/5): A warm welcome, delicious fresh seafood and a great night:'s sleep and waking up to amazing scenery - Staff and welcome was superb. Very warm. N/A
- Ian (8/5): Very good - Very comfortable. Great breakfast and dinner. Lovely that our dog could accompany us in the bar for dinner. Good room to let the dog out into the garden in the morning through patio doors.
- Martine (9/5): Superb -
- Peter (8/5): Very good - Great staff. Good food. Reasonable price
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Heidi (9/5): A diamond in the rough. - The family room was massive, The staff were friendly. Everything was clean. Was cold at first, but the heater was effective. Ample parking. Food was really good. No shower gel. No hot chocolate in the room. No soya milk available.
- Paul (5/5): Avoid like the plague - The room had comfortable beds and a toilet.
Bar staff were very accommodating Avoid Room 5. Extractor fan makes the floor vibrate
The water does not run continuously making showers virtually impossible.
When we asked for more shower gel we were told nobody knows where housekeeping keeps things. Have some antiseptic handwashing instead.
Ran out of baked beans for breakfast….shame as the other ingredients were extremely dry.
The sample menu online does not mirror reality. No only meat options on the night we were there. Pure fish seafood and more fish. If you would pay £200 a night please book.
- Lau (9/5): A short break - The room is spacious and comfortable. The staff are helpful and friendly. Nothing
- Philip (9/5): A luxurious ex-hunting lodge offers a unique experience - Beautifully placed, full of character, extremely helpful staff, gourmet food. Antlers everywhere, old sporting prints, good books in the bar. Near the Hebridean Way and a magnificent stone circle. No more to say Everything was good and that costs a bit
- Sharon (9/5): Great location for South Uist. Great staff and food. - Lovely location near the loch and standing stones. Also we saw an otter!
Staff exceptionally pleasant.
Standard of food was excellent.
- Mike (8/5): Great place to stay - Lovely bright room, friendly helpful staff, fantastic food. Mattress was very uncomfortable, sockets were not accessable for a capap maxhine next to bed.
- Michael (8/5): Lovely meals.many staff friendly...would consider it next time - Fantastic dinners A few staff seemed disengaged..others were lovely friendly relaxed interested
Room tight for space if we brought our case in from the car
- Isobel (9/5): Superb -
- Ed (5/5): Passable - The food was very good. I particularly enjoyed the steak which was cooked to perfection. The room (small double) - Decor and furnishings were dated. The positioning of the furniture restricted the already limited space resulting in an overall claustrophobic feeling.
- O (8/5): Very good - Staff very welcoming and food very good Long delay paying bill
- Andy (9/5): Superb -
- Pat (8/5): Lovely cozy lodge in North Uist. - Beautiful location and near the ancient standing stones. Great hill to climb behind the lodge for a spectacular view. Room a bit small but comfortable. Atmosphere in bar and dinind room was like an old comfortable lodge - excellent food. Convenient to the Lochmaddy ferry. A ground floor room. Stairs were a bit much but we then learned that there were rooms in the other wing that were ground floor and we will know to ask the next time.
- Billy (8/5): Very good -
- William (9/5): Very comfortable hotel with excellent staff - Excellent staff. Comfortable bedrooms and very good food Nothing
- Christopher (10/5): Exceptional - We couldn't have been made more welcome by a great staff team, from front of house to housekeeping, to the restaurant team. The food was well worth our long walk along the Hebridean Way and excellent. Nothing
- Damian (3/5): V disappointing - Food poor. Breakfast only served until 8.50 so chef can finish early. No concern for what suits guests!
When we came down for breakfast at 8.45 there were no bowls, no cups, no glasses or plates.
There was also no bread to make toast. Someone went to get some and offered it to me but it was mouldy! We asked for milk with our tea but when the jug came it had a fly in it. Awful.
Almost every picture on the walls throughout the hotel is crooked.
- Kristin (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (10/5): Perfect spot. I arrived early on my bike because forecast was later and had a lovely day reading and writing in the loun - Everything Nothing
- Alan (8/5): Good and friendly. - Good location, easy to find, friendly staff. A bit disappointed with the bar menu, menu stated it changed daily but it didn’t!! If we had know we’d have switched to restaurant menu for 2nd night, did so on 3 rd night and were much more impressed.
- Richard (8/5): Very good -
- David (10/5): Best hotel on Uist! A Hidden Gem! Loved the bar and the breakfast! - Old worldly hotel with a great wee bar and with lovely cozy ensuite bedroom and amenities. Whilst didn’t arrive in time due to a ferry delay or have a booking for dinner we were still offered the option of it which was unexpected, and whilst did not take up that offer we did have the cooked breakfast in morning which was amazing. Only stayed for one night as was only on Uist for one night, but this hotel is top of the list to stay at again! Exceeded expectations! Ten out of ten! Nothing!
- Terrie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wayne (6/5): A Roof Over Our Heads; Convenient Location - Staff was exceptionally personable and helpful; front desk, cleaning and food service. Safe place to store our bikes. Interesting grounds Banging doors along the hallway; we put a towel in the frame of our door so that it didn’t bang when doors along the hallway were closed
Slippery shower; we moved the desk chair into the bathroom so we had support when climbing in and out of the bathtub.
- Barbara (9/5): Friendly helpful staff, comfortable and clean room, great food in lovely surroundings. - Great Breakfast choices, comfy beds and friendly staff. Razor light in bathroom needed new bulb (didn't have replacement) and lamp in room also needed a new bulb which was provided.
- Linne (10/5): A pure delight to stay. - Fantastic property, fantastic location, fantastic staff, fantastic food. Couldn’t be better. Absolutely nothing.
- Keith (9/5): Superb -
- Andrea (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bititci (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice room with double hight ceilings and french doors to a well kept garden. Also nice views from the room. The dinner, the breakfast and the friendly service. Difficult to fault.
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Horseman (7/5): Overall it was a very nice and happy stay - Dinner was good without being exceptional. The pastry in the tarte tatin starter and the Venison Wellingtom was soggy which was a pity. Breakfast was good.
The room was fine but quite spartan for a de luxe room. The bathroom and overall cleanliness were exemplary. See above.
- Eamon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mark (10/5): Very Happy Chappy. - The location was perfect. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The food was superb. The room was very comfortable with a stunning view. All in all very happy with my stay at the Langass and will be returning for another.
- Martin (9/5): Well worth the expirience. - An excellent experience should you wish to discover the Outer Hebrides. Friendly well-trained staff. Warm and cosy room with excellent facilties where there are few. Mind the pot-holes on the approach road from main road.
- Elisabidetta (10/5): Exceptional - Just about everything.
It's a wonderful hotel, lovely food, exceptional service, fantastic staff and management.
The best bed I have ever slept in Nothing jot to like
