Guest Reviews
- Troy (7/5): -
- Karen (8/5): Did exactly what we needed it for. - Spacious, great showers, great location, great value for money Some of the cutlery, bowls and plates weren’t very clean. Mattresses not overly comfy, ok for children.
- Tyler (8/5): - It was in the perfect location for cheddar gorge and Weston-super-Mare, was a very nice house and affordable.
- Susan (7/5): - Space was perfect us thank you
- Gina (10/5): Amazing - Clean and comfortable also host was very helpful Nothing
- Oscar (7/5): A good place to stay for a night to get some rest in between busy days exploring Cheedar Gorge and surrounding areas. - The property is in a great location, easy to find and access due to great communication and was clean. The only real thing I could say is that there weren’t any hand towels in any of the bathrooms, other than that all was to a good standard.
- Amy (8/5): It was lovely, spacious and we really appreciated the early check-in and late check-out so thank you - Lovely big house, spacious and great facilities, has everything you need there! Smelt a bit like wet dog when we first walked into the living room :( But we just opened the doors and it disappeared.
- Eloise (5/5): Good location, but not cleaned well. - Good location The beds were uncomfortable, the sofas were uncomfortable. The property felt like it had hardly been cleaned, there was a half eaten block of cheese left in the fridge, and food left in the freezer. The utensils were dirty. Half used body wash left in the bathroom. I just felt like it had hardly been cleaned
- David (8/5): Clean and spacious, good location for exploring Somerset well maintained property - Clean and spacious, good location for exploring Somerset well maintained property The kitchen lacked a full range of utensils, pots, pans and crockery which made cooking Christmas dinner a challenge, but sufficient for normal meals. There were only 4 large towels between 6 guests.
- Deborah (10/5): Stunning house and location. - Very peaceful quiet location. Great if travelling to and from Bristol Airport.
Had all the facilities in the home that were required during our stay.
Private driveway at side of house.
Friendly neighbours, and just a short walk into local village, which is simply stunning.
Host very responsive, and very caring, wanting guests to have enjoyable stay. Nothing, it was perfect.
- Moya (6/5): -
- Wee Jern (8/5): Good - Nice bathrooms, big property Bedding smelt musty and couches in living room were crumb-y
- Mark (6/5): -
- Katie (10/5): -
- Diz143 (8/5): Comfortable spacious house - Nice spacious home for a family of five.
3 bathrooms were very handy!
Had everything we needed for our 2 night stay
Beds were comfy
2 parking spaces
Host good at communicating Garden was a mess, grass very long
- Grzegorz (10/5): - Location which is close to both Chedar Gorge and Bristol, there is Spar shop close as well. All was good, it wasn't part of the deal, but it is always nice if there is a few bags of tea, some coffee, salt and peper in the kitchen, which wasn't there in this case. Still not a problem because the shop was close by.
- Deanlee (10/5): Excellent place - Kitchen
- Gail (9/5): We had a lovely stay, everything we needed was here, easy check in and host very welcoming - Good location Clean and homely All single beds were hard and sofas were hard
- Emma (4/5): Would not stay again. Very unclean - Spacious. Good location. It was not clean. There was post on the floor when we arrived (they clearly had not been in the house that day before we arrived). I had to vacuum the floors when I arrived. The mirrors and windows were smeared. The microwave was filthy with a dead crane fly on the counter top. The shared tub didn’t drain. No coffee supplies and old food in the cupboards. Limited kitchen supplies. Sitting room functional but not comfortable. Lots of spiders and cobwebs in the house. The walls were patched with weird tape on the walls. We messaged the host about the uncleanliness with no response. The other reviews are consistent about cleanliness. We aren’t writing this to seek a refund (as the host has accused people in the past)
- Charlotte Homer (9/5): - The house was beautiful and suited our needs. The host was available if needed. We had a lovely time and would definitely book again next time I'm down that way. The only things we didn't like were the sofas and beds weren't very comfy.
- Leonor (8/5): - Spacious property and perfect for a family or group travelling together
- mark (10/5): -
- Hinde (9/5): Clean and tidy well equipped kitchen - Location good. Kitchen well supplied with with everything we needed If we had stayed longer we wouldn’t have liked the garden which was scruffy and untidy, and the sitting room was functional but nor particularly comfy or welcoming. As it was a 1nights stay enroute to south coast it wasn’t relevant.
- Barbara (7/5): Super location - A lovely house in a lovely estate in a super location, close to Cheddar, Wells, Glastonbury and Bristol. House was functional but decor was a bit worn.
- Lesley (8/5): - Very spacious for a family of 5 Beds and pillows were hard.
- Sam (8/5): - Very spacious for a family stay with nice comfy beds. Modern kitchen and bathroom. Good location for a trip to Weston super mare. Garden could do with a clean up
- penelope (4/5): Poorly presented house - Location was good , bathrooms were clean Dirty windows and mirrors ,garden terrible, sitting room uncomfortable , kitchenf had bits if food left in cupboards , felt like a family had just moved out carpets very stained and lots of scuffing on walls
- Doreen (7/5): Nice But Scope For Improvement - Was a lovely home, all that we needed was there to a degree a few things could do with improving though. Was impossible to watch the TV as no inside or outside aerial no way of tuning it in so had no TV to watch. Thank god for YouTube 👍
Went to use frying pan, but was dirty with baked on fat and surface badly scratched, best place for it was the bin. (Picture Taken) also a common utensil for flipping eggs is a spatula and there wasn't one so couldn't even fry an egg if I wanted to.
- Paul (7/5): Lovely Accommodation & location and would recommend to all - Very good location and great hosts. Nothing
- Hinkley (10/5): Chestnuts - great 4 bed house, ideal for a family stay in Somerset - Very comfortable 4bed semi in lovely Somerset village if Winscombe. Such a convenient location. Host ensured great communication to check in and out and resolve any problems.. would return to this venue. A little attention to detail on the cleaning front. Though generally clean, kitchen felt it had been wiped clean rather than properly cleaned throught. On solitary smelly dishcloth! Dull ashtray on garden table and builders bucket with water and cigarett ends. Just needs that extra care when cleaning.
- Jasmine (10/5): Lovely spacious property. - Spacious property with everything you would need. Space for 2 cars on the drive. Comfortable and clean bedrooms. Nice garden furniture and patio/garden just off of the living room. Easy to find and good communication from owner. Overall really nice and would definitely recommend!
- Carole (8/5): Very good -
- Robert (9/5): Handy Stip Over in North Somerset - Plenty of space. Quiet area. A little suburban. Missing some kitchen equipment.
- Dewi (8/5): Very good -
- Nigel (10/5): Great place to stay - It was clean plenty of room for 4 good parking and quiet⁷ Just a little bit out from Cheddar but depends what you want to do.
- Byron (10/5): Perfect - Couldn't fault the place we couldn't find anywhere amd it was getting late amd the host sorted it all out for us would highly recommend Nothing
- Nicola (8/5): Very good - Nice bathrooms and spacious Needs new carpets and garden tidy
- Pav (10/5): Exceptional - Great big house in quite area
- Sarah (9/5): Lovely house in a wonderful location. Great size and good facilities, would recommend! -
- Steven (8/5): Fantastic location, easy to reach all parts ot the area . great communication from the owners, Big family home, - Beautiful clean and spacious property No hand wash or shower gel and shampoos
- Pete (8/5): Very good -
- Chelsie (1/5): Do not stay here! - Nothing. The towels were soaking wet rolled up at the ends of the beds which made the beds wet and uncomfortable. In addition, we were unable to have a shower due to no dry towels and unable to turn the heating on as radiators did not work. The floors were dirty and clumps of hair were found on the carpets upstairs, we found a bag containing a white substance in the mirror drawer and the toilet was dirty.
When contacting the property directly we were essentially called liars
- Alan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kelly (7/5): Good -
- Alan (10/5): Perfect for our needs - Great location private parking and not overlooked. All good 👍
- Alex (9/5): Was a lovely stay and would love to come back again - House is beautiful and in such a nice quiet area too. Was nothing not to like.
- Jackie (8/5): Very good - Great location for Cheddar Gorge, quiet residential area. Convenience Store, takeaway etc close by. Large property with modern interior, great for our needs
- Jim (8/5): Excellent accommodation for a group - clean and comfortable. - Location was as expected and fine for our needs.
- Wendi (10/5): Perfect family stay - Fantastic location, easy reach of Cheddar and Wells. Village location, we enjoyed the excellent fish and chip shop. Super hosts, great communication. Big family home, perfect for large family.
- Dawn (8/5): Very good - House was lovely Small problem with ants in the kitchen but got sorted
- Robert (6/5): Was a clean well presented property, that just needs a bit of tlc - Needs a bit of updating. Dishwasher wasn’t cleaning as good as it should. Could have also done with some new cooking pans/equipment.
- Prijay (1/5): Received threatening / abusive call from owner accusing me of causing damage without proof. Reported - No shower gel
- Richard (8/5): A good stay - Good house and location Shortage of utensils, towels and cooking equipment
- Lee (8/5): Very good - Nice clean house, quiet area. A few mins walk to shops and pubs Nothing, great place to sto
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Sam (1/5): House has great potential. More thought and care needs to be taken with the property. Cleaning needs to be checked, it w - Location was perfect. Fence was down in the garden. Owner knew we was bringing a dog, feel we should have been told about this considering the neighbours had a new born baby, and a dog themselves. The house was dirty, kitchen cupboards and bathrooms, the en-suite shower was that dirty I couldn’t use it. No spare pillows or duvets considering we paid for a 4 bedroom house, one of the rooms wasn’t able to be used as there was no bedding. Chest of drawers need to be checked as there was previous guests underwear in them and lots of rubbish.
- Judith (9/5): Lovely stay - One night stay before an early morning flight from Bristol airport. Very comfortable and warm and perfectly located for a short drive to the airport. We arrived and left in the dark so can’t comment on the outdoor space. Kitchen sink took a long time to drain.
- Gemma (10/5): Exceptional - Our family spent Christmas 2024 in this large, modern family home. The beds were incredibly comfortable and we all had fabulous nights sleep. Very large lounge which was perfect for our Christmas morning and a well equipped kitchen that accommodated our family's Christmas meal. Would highly recommend. Great service from host
- Nigel (7/5): Good -
- Teresa (10/5): Clean, lovely area and well set out home with lots of space - Spacious, clean and comfortable
- Deanlee (9/5): Superb - Kitchen and beds
- John (8/5): Great location - Beautiful property in a beautiful location. Unfriendly neighbours. Ignored polite greetings. Seemed like they were spying on us. Even though we were hardly there.
- Angela (7/5): Good - The house was in a good location close to shops for essentials.
- Jordan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ben (2/5): Very poor - the house smelt of dogs. there was no mention of limited parking on booking only on the day of arrival. most of the door handles were either loose or dodgy. the beds were very basic and not very comfotable, the back door was unlocked an open on arrival. i stayed at Wassell house accomodation the night before and that a delight, clean, modern, affordable.
- Caroline (7/5): It served our purpose well for a 1 night stay. - Good value, easy access and very good communication. Kitchen wasn’t that well equipped.
- Kiri (10/5): Beautiful house in a lovely location, will definitely book again. - It was in a great location, homely, spacious and had everything we needed. Nothing
- Ramin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ian (10/5): Nothing to report - Comfortable home that met our needs for the onward travel down to Cornwall.
- Dean (8/5): Would definitely return in the future - Winscombe is a lovely village. The houses position was in a nice and quiet estate. Very good communication from the owner. The plug was missing from the kitchen sink. The toaster wasn’t working properly. The decor is showing signs of wear and tear.
- Emma (8/5): Great stay, thank you! -
- Nick (7/5): Good - Location and facilities Need of maintenance and TLC.
- Anita (10/5): We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be returning very soon - It was like a home from home. Lovely spacious house, clean and has everything you need. There wasn’t anything I didn’t like.
- Robert (6/5): Disappointing - Location was good. Property size good. Clean modern bathrooms Unfortunately property was not very clean. Cleaned kitchen before using. Furniture in lounge was mismatched and uncomfortable. Grassed area in garden was full of weeds and nettles
- Andrew (8/5): Staying here, was the highlight of our trip. - The layout of the property and the way it made you feel.
It was so lovely.
And all the rooms were off a great size, too. Nothing
- Danielle (10/5): Exceptional - Well equipped and great communication from the host
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paula (9/5): Very spacious and well equipped place, and communicative and approachable hosts! -
- Byorn (9/5): Certainly will stay again in next visit - The house is clean, tidy and have everything we need.
Sizeable living room and a separate breakfast area. Good size bedroom.
The location is quiet and very convenience to the local shops and restaurant. More cooking tools will be perfect.
There are some ant from the entrance door to the kitchen.
- Martyn (10/5): Very nice house - Modern, comfy 4 bed house just what we needed after a long day working. Off street parking a bonus too
- Bethan (10/5): Lovely house - Really clean. Fantastic location. Would love to book again No spatula and would benefit from a non stick frying pan. Not very homely in the living room but comfortable and bedrooms are great!
- Jodie (7/5): Good - The sofa bed hard and leg broken and very expensive 1 night but appart from that very good
- Wayne (10/5): Nice couple of days in a beautiful part of the country - Ease of checking in and was comfortable and clean Kettle needs replacing as leaks everywhere when pouring
- Mark (8/5): Very good -
- Karen (7/5): Good -
- Robert (6/5): Disappointing, because all my criticisms are easy and inexpensive to resolve. - 1. Quiet location
2. Good bathrooms
3. Comfy beds.
4. Easy access 1. The lawn was a meadow, 18 inches long.
2. Wifi was a 4g mobile device, slower than my phone, pointless.
3. TV was small and not connected to any satellite or aerial, internet TV only, which was disconnected and slow
4. Furniture was cheap and uncoordinated
5. Various holes in walls left unfilled where screws had been removed
- Joanna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Prashanth (8/5): Good - Location was very good n was clean. Would refer to friends The freezer was completely covered with ice formation
- Emma (8/5): Good - A tv aerial
- Digbijaya (8/5): Great place for a family stay - Lovely home in a quiet residential area. We visited the Cheddar Gorge and it was a short 10 ride from there. The host communicated all the details in advance and our family enjoyed the stay there. The coffee machine with ground coffee beans in the morning was simply great! Highly recommended. Some kitchen appliances, pans, and utensils could use some upgrades, especially the kettle, frying pan, and knife.
- Sara (10/5): Big beautiful house - The house is lovely and big. Clean and lots of space, and our family of five enjoyed having space to themselves with enough rooms for the kids to have their own. Great location close to a few places and easy to get to. The hosts were welcoming and kept in touch, asking us if we had settled in and if we needed anything to just ask. Will definitely be back. Not really anything that we didn't like, but as we were cooking, instead of eating out, some more kitchen equipment would have been handy. Only one small frying pan. But it didn't affect the quality of our stay. it just would have been handy.
- Naran (10/5): Exceptional - BBQ facilities perfect my friend are happy
- Gary (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gary (10/5): Exceptional -
- Clive (10/5): Top quality, excellent place to stay - Excellent place. Very large spacious and comfortable house with 3 toilets, good kitchen, private garden. Good location - easy to get to most places. Spotlessly clean. Clutter free house. No lists of do's and dont's. Nicely furnished. Quiet and peaceful location. Would definitely like to stay again. Nothing - all perfect.
- Paweł (10/5): Great experience - Everything was perfect
- David (10/5): Quiet residential area but close to amenities - Location Nothing
- Lauren (8/5): Nice place to stay if doing the Thatchers cider tour! - We booked this property as were doing the thatchers cider tour. It was a 30minute walk from the cider tour, but there is a bus that runs every hour!
Plenty of bedrooms and beds, lovely home. Nice kitchen and living area. Was nice and clean in the bathrooms with clean towels etc. Lovely little cul de sacc close to shops and pubs in Winscombe. The cleanliness could have been a bit better. Upstairs carpet needed a hoover in places and no fresh smell when you walked in to the property.
- Helen (5/5): Passable - Easy to find.
Lovely shower Tv didn't work and lampshades missing in lounge and bedroom
