Guest Reviews
- Zina Tomaszek (9/5): - Great location! The place had really good vibes & was clean & tidy. The lovely welcome pack provided by the host was totally an unexpected surprise
- Emma (8/5): -
- Gail (10/5): Our stay was great walking distance to restaurants and close to what we were doing. - It was comfortable and in a great location for our needs this trip. Toilet roll holder was very low and didn’t hold the toilet paper properly. Everything else was excellent.
- Nicholas (8/5): Super comfy tiny with limited late night public transport - Super comfy tiny house. While I did not use them, the place is equipped with a microwave, iron and iron table, hair dryer and coffee machine. It is located in a very quiet area and very peaceful at night time. There are also some nice eating places around. While the area is connected by a couple of bus services, most of them stop running by 8 pm and earlier on week end. The route 235 runs a bit later but the nearest bus stop is a 10-15 min walk. Despite the best efforts of the host, the internet was a bit laggy and stop working all together at some stage.
- Thomas (9/5): - Great location. Good air conditioning. Full kitchen facilities. Nice and private. Very clean. Easy to access.
- Trevor (6/5): -
- Adam (7/5): Loved the house and location for what we had planned - Location and helpful No access to a laundry, people downstairs were very disruptive
- Allison (8/5): -
- Nathan (9/5): -
- Mikayla (10/5): -
- Whitney (9/5): Enjoyable! - Great location and spacious enough for 3 friends to stay
- Cristy (9/5): -
- Fisher (10/5): -
- Michelle (9/5): - Location Untidy entry with long wet grass.
A couple of hooks in the bathroom and toilet roll holder would be great. No where to dry off your towel.
- Kerry (1/5): - Nothimg Disability accessibility was promoted however there was no access possible even with maximum effort trying to access
Several accessibility filters in search yet property still stood out abo e others...
3 different accomodations on one small suburbia property combined into one photo gallery making expectations severely clouded...
Property ownerr was unresponsive even though communication was initiated immediately upon arrival and deceitful and rude when contact was made
- Liana (1/5): Bad. Like staying in a shoebox - Good location near Hawthorne Road The pictures were misleading. Rather than being in a house with terrace etc, they stuck us in a “tiny home” which was a renovated garden shed. There was NOT enough space for two adults. The cutlery was dirty, the shower was generally ok but the shower gel was watered down, the milk was two months out of date, there was an enormous orb spider web attached to the shed it was all so gross we left after our first night even though we had paid for two.
- Jed (1/5): -
- Melody (10/5): Loved this tiny home and the host was very responsive and personable. The neighborhood is very nice! - The tiny home was very clean and perfect for our needs. The neighborhood is wonderful and there is nice park right out of the back gate. There are plenty of restaurants nearby and also the dock for the ferry. In the welcoming email/message, a description is needed on where the key box is located for the tiny home.
- Marta (9/5): A great place for Brisbane short or long stay - It’s a little gem. On a quiet street right next to the part but also loads of restaurants and shops. Comfortable beds. High standard bathroom. Enjoyed it immensely. Very close to the water ferry makes it very convenient for sightseeing Can’t think of anything
- Maas (8/5): -
- David (7/5): -
- Juliette (6/5): Great location but probably won’t use again - The location was perfect for me Not sure it was value for money. Lawns not done until last day. No toilet roll holder or towel hooks.
Incorrect wifi username provided and my call to query was never replied to.
- Madigan (10/5): -
- Sanson (1/5): Would not recommend - Nothing. The bed was old and lumpy. The pillows were disgusting and kept falling down the back of the bed. Bed was against the wall, so one of us had to climb over to get out. Had to use a torch to find how to get in, no outside lighting. No fan in the tiniest bathroom ever. Was a garden shed. Staying some where else. Paid for 2 nights. Stayed for 1.
- Saki (7/5): -
- Wing Sang (10/5): -
- NCrocker (8/5): - The location is close to lovely variety of shops and cafes and ferry. Perfect selection of china and cutlery. Great tiny home. Would greatly benefit from inside doormat, hooks for towels in the bathroom, and a light directly over bed.
- Ken (6/5): -
- Shyju (8/5): -
- Muruganandam (8/5): Quiet place, friendly neighbors, place sleeps early. - It was a quiet place, value for money, with all friendly neighborhood people running, jogging and walking dogs. A park nearby, three bus stops nearby, also a ferry station a little longer distance away. However, late nights, public transports decrease their frequencies. The washing machine didnt work. But the host said I can use the larger one used for washing beddings. But the dryer was not able to handle the full load, so it took double the time to finish drying all clothes, even though washing was faster. Also, if there was a room heater, it may be better, as I am from a warmer country, having 9deg C was too cold at nights, in the living rooms. Beddings didnt let us feel the cold though.
- Mouse (9/5): Perfect - So central. Close to a train and ferry station for easy access to the city. Plenty of shops, cafes and activities around the area. Beds were very comfortable. House was very modern with modern appliances and roomy for 5 adults and 1 child. Home was clean and good shower pressure. Basics like body wash, oil, salt n pepper, cleaning products supplied. Easy to find and great communication from the owner. Definitely be back for another stay another time. Didn’t find out where the washing machine was until our departure. Port-a-cot used for a 4yo. It was a bit small.
- Lee-ann (9/5): Superb -
- Melitsa (5/5): A bit more run down than the pictures - Good location and responsive hosts A bit run down, a lingering smoky smell that made it difficult to breathe. No fly screens on any windows so there we’re always bugs in the house
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jason (8/5): Very good -
- Norman (10/5): exellent - The host was very helpful and great to deal with.
Will be using the Hawthorns appartment again
- Calebj (10/5): Exceptional - Incredible location and such a good property for a group stay, everything was clean and accessible and communication on point. Couldn’t recommend enough! Thanks again!
- Vince (10/5): Amazing again - Been before. Great property Nothing
- Christine (1/5): Never book this accommodation - Could not access
Had to book alternative accommodation

- Leah (9/5): Superb -
- Kathleen (10/5): Awesome 👏 - Wonderful retro apartment , we will be back for sure!
- Matt (8/5): Very funky well presented little 2 bed apartment -
- W (10/5): Exceptional -
- Steven (9/5): Funky style accomodation, w/ comfy beds. - It’s a nicely arranged accomodation, with very comfortable beds; a funky decor, a decent size bathroom and a small kitchen suitable for purpose. The access to the property can be improved; it’s secluded at the back of the property, which is OK to find, once you follow all instruction shared.
- Tori (10/5): Exceptional - Was really funky and we loved the vibe of the place, good location and the owners are so sweet and very helpful, Honestly nothing if I had to be picky the front door can be abit tricky to open but genuinely the best place to stay!
- Leon (6/5): It was alright, but we won’t be staying again. - The property was in a good location. Whilst this property is advertised as suitable for families, the poster at the entrance to the bathroom referenced drug use which was not appropriate for young children. There was also a red liquid at the bottom of the fridge that needed a good clean. There was also a lot of noise generated from the unit from people walking around. This was particularly annoying at 4am, waking up our entire family.
- Jacqueline (8/5): Enjoyable and a bit different - Cute, different place to stay. Side pathway hard to get a trolley bag down so had to lift my bag
- Kokimoto (9/5): Superb -
- Darcel (8/5): Very good -
- Nathan (7/5): Good -
- Anna-jane (8/5): Very good -
- Christine (7/5): Good - Good location
Very comfortable beds
Nice bathroom VERY poor kitchen facilities
Freezer not operating
Fridge would not close
Not a private back yard
- Leigh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jayme (9/5): Fab fam holiday - The location was superb, fabulous eateries 3 min walk around the corner, very close to the city
- Danielle (6/5): Pleasant - A nice comfy house for families. That there were other tenants living downstairs and the cleaner was beneath the house with us not knowing.
- Besley (9/5): Fabulous pace 👌 - Beautiful layout, beautiful colours, lovely people ❤️ There was to be a fold out double bed/ sofa couch in the lounge room that was not there. A BBQ out back would be a great addition 😋
- Paige (9/5): Superb -
- Devantier (10/5): Exceptional -
- Judith (9/5): Pleasant area and plenty of room and clean. - Very central. Great having own bedroom. Nothing
- Paul (8/5): Very good -
- Megan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Speirs (8/5): Very good -
- Sheena (10/5): Exceptional -
- Roy (7/5): Great stay - Great location
- Bedo (7/5): Good - location and size very noisy from people walking around upstairs
- Roz (9/5): It was perfect for what we were needing. Highly recommend The Hawthorne for that area of Brisbane. - The hosts' attention to detail is fantastic. Loved the interior and all of the little designer touches. The pinball machine was an unexpected and fun bonus. The location is excellent with a nice view over the park and a pleasant stroll through the park to local cafes and restaurants. It would be worth fixing the pinball machine which malfunctioned occasionally. This was a fantastic bonus and was lots of fun to play.
- Marshall (7/5): Good -
- Donegan (8/5): Very good - Excellent location and great space. Really comfortable beds (except the one person on lounge) A few things need repairs (bathroom lock, toilet holder, etc) and tea towels would be handy.
- Moin (10/5): Just up the great work Mike has been an excellent host - Everything This question should be taken off from here
There is nothing I can pin point which isn’t likeable
- Charmaine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Victoria (5/5): Great stay but over priced. - The property was beautiful and in a great location. The kettle had floating parts from being damaged and old, the woman downstairs was quite rude and made us uncomfortable, other from that the stay was great but considering the price the amenities should be better.
- Conor (7/5): Good -
- Christopher (8/5): Great short stay for family - Design Noisy neighbours
- 藤田 (7/5): It was great to be able to stay and rest safely. Safety is the most important thing when traveling. - There was a park nearby, and there were many greens so that I could relax.
- Marc (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julianne (7/5): Good - Cute and close to the park Upstairs was quite noisy
- Benjamin (10/5): Amazing , would stay with Mike again - Was really welcoming with a real attention for detail and lots of nice touches … had a Tesla charger and was let friendly Nothing
- Natalie (8/5): Very good -
- Jennie (10/5): Exceptional - It was so comfortable and felt very homely Nothing
- Natalie (8/5): Great location, clean and comfortable. Would stay again. - This was perfect for our stay. Great location and just the right size for a busy stay. The most comfortable beds I think I have slept in. Needs a table inside to eat at. Not clear if we were upstairs in the top half of the house and not clear how to get in the back door at the bottom half of the house. Needed light down the side of the house. Discovered on day three that one of the switches inside turned on a sensor light. Maybe need a quick list of things to know left at the house eg where the sensor light was, where the hairdryer is kept etc. Also maybe a dish cloth, tea towel, bathmat and a couple of dishwasher tablets.
- Jye (9/5): Superb - Comfortable, plenty of room and all the furnishings and appliances, amenities needed. Mike was prompt to help when we had a small issue during the stay. Only issue was no light switch accessible for the laundry for the upstairs unit.
- Garima (8/5): Very good -
- Dwayne (10/5): Time away for hockey competition - The falacity and location was fantastic
- Garry (9/5): The accommodation was great and if we visited Brisbane again we certainly would like to stay there. - Location and accommodation was excellent A small table with chairs to sit down at inside next to kitchen(large chair not needed/wasted space)
Lower bathroom towel rail needs attention (grub screws need tightening/missing)
It would have been nice to have had cupboard/bench of sorts in the second bedroom to accommodate luggage
- Annika (10/5): Great stay for furry friends! - Mike, the host, was exceptional and incredibly prompt in responding to texts. The location was unbeatable, with a plethora of restaurants, cafes, and shops right at your doorstep. The cherry on top was the community park adjacent to the outdoor patio, providing outdoor recreational fun and relaxing environment. The well-fenced yard was perfect for our furry friends to frolic around and enjoy themselves. The comfortable bed and well-equipped accommodation provided us with everything we needed for a fantastic stay. We would undoubtedly return to this memorable location again. Thank you, Mike!
- Kate (9/5): Perfect space to stay after an event outside the hectic pace of the city! - Lovely street, lots of room and great outlook.
- Isaac (4/5): Disappointing - Soiled linens found under the beds and behind the door, sundeck was dirty with garbage, not enough toilet supplies, WiFi access was not posted in the house, need to contact the owner to get the WiFi access and password, not users friendly facilities, contact the owner and asked for the supplies (promised will receive the items within hrs, the delivery never comes until next day.) .....
- Sandra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Radka (8/5): Very good - Great location with lovely view to the park, peaceful neighbourhood, plenty of cafes and restaurants closely. Also fantastic communication from the host and easy access to keys upon arrival. In great proximity of CBD and all main sights. The accommodation requires deep cleaning, especially in the kitchen and bathroom areas (we found cockroaches under the sink and in the bathroom). It would be also good to know that there are other guests accommodated in the same house (downstairs in the garage) as we were wondering what is going on the first night and our dog was nervous at times with noises coming from downstairs ;-).
- Ariana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Caitlyn (9/5): Superb -
- Chessum (9/5): Great stay, close to restaurants and a park. - The freindly approach of the owner.
Loved the room space.
Loved the location. Noisy upstair neighbours/same property, not respecting the quiet time rules.
The lack of privacy curtains at the backyard side windows, as you can see from the oval into the unit.
The clothesline would be good if had cover, as it rained a fair bit while we were there and had to make a makeshift line using the dog's lead in the car park/garage.
- Marise (7/5): Good - Good location Booked for 7 ppl there was only sleeping facilities for 6 as only 3 double beds only 6 towels I would of thought there would be 1 per person
Only 3 chairs at table and 1 couch Out doors setting only for 6 as well
So maybe they need to lower the number the facility caters for or up the facilities that are In the unit
I believe I should be refunded for the extra 1 person that had NO facilities supplied
- Nathan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Janine (10/5): Perfect pet friendly accommodation - Great location. Perfect pet friendly property. Nothing
- Jillian (10/5): Exceptional - The apartment was awesome, very clean and tidy, with plenty of space. The bathroom is huge 👌 ❤️ with lots of space to move around. Good size bedrooms bed very comfy had a good 😴 💤. The best part was that it was a pet friendly accommodation with a good size backyard also close to restaurants to have dinner. We enjoyed our stay lovely apartment 😊 😀 ☺️ 🤗
- Wright (1/5): Bad -
- Jason (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ann (7/5): Great time with family. Good backyard. Comfy beds. Will be back. - Great location. Good backyard for doggies. An oven would have been good.
