Guest Reviews
- Amber (10/5): Great little place to stay - Beautifully decorated and well situated. Nothing
- Lydia (9/5): Lovely peaceful stay in a cosy, well located annex - Beautifully decorated, cosy annex. Warm, comfortable and quiet. Easy to find and in a great location.
Debbie’s communication was great, she was very responsive. Nice powerful shower and lovely little private courtyard out the back. Very minor points, but I found the blinds quite hard to open and close with the pole and the fridge was quite noisy.
I also felt bad leaving washing up for Debbie as there is nowhere to wash up.
- Sheila (10/5): -
- Linda (8/5): - Leuk plekje, zelfs een buitenzitje. Weinig ruimte om iets te eten te bereiden, echt bedoeld als overnachting met eten buitenshuis.
- Jane (10/5): Great stay, lovely property with a lovely host. - Great location just 10 mins walk from the sea. Nice and quiet and private. Debbie is a lovely caring host. Great restaurant recommendations. Beautiful cliff walks.
- Kevin (10/5): Lovely Barton Studio. - Beautiful cosy studio with pretty furnishings. This had a lovely warm feel to it. Very comfortable and well designed from somewhere to drop your bag and hang your coat, through the zoned room to the outdoor patio area.
Great contact and all the info we required for a smooth stay from the host.
Easy to find and off street parking. It was very quiet and an easy 10 min walk from The Cliff House for an ex excellent dinner. We loved everything.
- Maureen (10/5): -
- Jennifer (10/5): Great location, great property. - Lovely quiet location. Very clean, tidy and cosy. There was a nice welcome pack with some nice biscuits, crisps and water bottles. Also Debbie kindly left some fresh strawberries. There was fresh milk in the fridge and plenty of tea and coffee, as well as some granola for breakfast.
A well maintained cabin.
We were visiting friends in the area and it is a short walk to the beach. Lovely area to explore as close to many charming towns and attractions. Nothing.... it was great for our stay.
- elaine (10/5): Second visit to Barton Hollow - definitely won’t be our last - highly recommend - Spotlessly clean - very comfortable - great pillows 😊
- Anne Marie (9/5): - Beautifully presented and lots of lovely little touches.
Even a small patio area which was lovely addition.
- Katey (10/5): Lovely little place to call home - Spotlessly clean and decorated beautifully - with the most wonderful and appreciated little touches (eg milk in the fridge). Friendly host. Thank you for having me! I drove past it on arrival and had to do a second pass. If the property number was on the garden fence, I somewhere missed it, so could well have been me!? Not a big deal though, I found it.
- Sally (10/5): Lovely. Would recommend. -
- Felicity (10/5): Highly recommend! Wonderful space and great location. - It was immaculately clean, and beautifully decorated. The bed was comfortable and the shower was hot and a good size.
Brilliant location a short walk down to the sea and a there is a nice selection of places to eat. We were only there one night!
- Tina (10/5): Great property, great location - Great location, very homely and clean
5 min walk to seafront and bars/restaurants
15 min drive to The New forest
- Emma (10/5): - Irs really cute, has everything you could possibly want and a private garden For some reason I thought there were other beach huts together and it would be closer to the sea but its probably because I didn't read the details carefully enough
- bicyclogue (9/5): Great room and host - Nice room in a separate unit in the back of the house. Very quiet and comfortable. Includes granola and milk for breakfast. The owner also left some snacks. Ordered a great meal, which was delivered, from a local Indian restaurant, which was excellent. The only coffee available was instant coffee and if something more tasty was available it would make the room even better.
- Susan (10/5): -
- Edward (10/5): This place for a one or two night stop is the best 👏 - Fabulous Nothing
- Virginia (8/5): Very comfortable and well equipped. - Lovely cabin very well furnished. Nothing
- Claire (10/5): Superb! - This place is exceptional with everything needed for a quiet, comfortable stay. Very clean and tidy, stylish and bright. Would highly recommend. Nothing at all!
- Mohamed (10/5): - Perfect
- Elizabeth (10/5): Beautiful, comfy, quiet, self-contained accomodation walking distance from the coast! - I loved my stay at Barton Hollow! Thank you Debbie! The room was beautiful, quiet, self-contained, substantial, warm, spacious and light. The bed and bedding were super comfy for just me. There was a little area to sit outside in the warmer weather, and driveway parking. The coast and sea front with cafes, restaurants and stunning walks was at the end of the road! Thank you for the generous hamper of snacks, and it was very helpful having granola and milk provided, and facilities for eating snacks and reheating my ready meal. Debbie was at hand, but gives you total privacy if you prefer. Only that some kitchen roll might be useful! But I loved it and hope to come again and will recommend!
- Denise (9/5): Lovely relaxing break. - As described, comfortable and great location. Owner is really helpful. It was perfect for a 2 night stay. If we were staying longer, we would have wanted a kitchenette so we didn’t eat out every night, but that’s our personal preference. We appreciated the kettle and fridge.
- Justin (10/5): Faultless - Perfect stay. Can't fault it. Lovely little place
- Lauren (9/5): -
- Gemma (10/5): I as absolutely perfect! Thank you 🤩 - Everything that I needed. Very clean and comfortable. N/A
- Kathrin (10/5): Excellent stay. Very happy. - This place is wonderful. Very cosy and comfortable. Beautifully decorated and all things one needs. Everything thought of. It is very clean and in nice condition. There is a space for a car right outside and it was very easy to get to the key. Great instructions from the owner Debbie before arrival. Very happy with my stay. Thank you.
- Graeme (9/5): Great for 1-2 night weekend stop to catch up locally with friends and family. Just what I was after. - Clean and modern with detailing reflecting a well thought through set up. Was perfect. Not a huge fan of mixer showers but it was functional and did the job.
- Ros (10/5): Absolute gem of a place. - The cabin was lovely and super cosy. Debbie has great taste. The decor is eclectic and elegant. The outside space is super cute. Debbie was also friendly and helpful. The cabin has everything you need for your stay. The bathroom is compact but the shower was great and everything was really clean. Nothing
- Dermot (9/5): - It was a lovely self-contained modern space with a private courtyard. The apartment was beautifully done out and very comfortable. The shower was a little bit idiosyncratic but fine when I worked it out. Everything else was perfect.
- Susan (9/5): -
- catherine (7/5): Perfect for a short stay and ideal for access to the sea/ coast - Perfect for a short visit No coffee maker
- Adele (10/5): -
- Keith (8/5): -
- Wayne (10/5): -
- Nigel (9/5): -
- Stephen (10/5): Excellent near where we wanted to be - Clean tidy well decorated
- Lisa (10/5): Beautiful, comfy and so welcoming. - The property was just lovely. Spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and really homely. The welcome basket was a lovely touch and very much appreciated as we arrived quite late. Debbie was a lovely host and has thought of everything to make the place so welcoming and comfortable. We cannot wait to return. Nothing, it was just right!
- Jeff (7/5): Quiet base at southern tip of New Forest - Very quiet stay in nice location near beach and small town. This is a good spot for two people who don’t mind being on top of each other. The surrounding streets are so dark in the evenings that the locals walk their dogs wearing head torches! The local Indian restaurant is really old school and a must for curry lovers. To write anything would be petty quibbling.
- Katherine (10/5): Fabulous little place by the sea - Fantastic! Very clean and comfortable. Couldn't have asked for more!
- Fiona (10/5): Cosy night away. - Beautiful place. Pictures dont do it justice. Every little thing thought of.
Clean, warm ,stylish and cosy.
Owner so helpful.
Great position for local restaurants and shops within walking distances.
Lovely area to sit out if weather had been better. Nothing all perfect.
- steve (8/5): - Ideal spot to get every where, very clean and tidy. Perfect for a short stay. Thank you.
- Janet (9/5): Excellent, very comfortable - Clean and light. Very comfortable, everything needed for a short stay Not able to open the windows at night but it’s very minor
- Hannah (10/5): Fabulous - The bed was extremely comfortable. A really cozy vibe.
- Wendy (10/5): One night stay on a south coast road trip - We stayed for one night on a south coast road trip.
Communication with host was very good. We received a message advising that they could be as hands on or hands off as we liked. We didn't really need anything. Room was ready on arrival.
We had asked for recommendations for food in the area. We used these recommendations and they were excellent.
We went to Pebble Beach in the evening. Food was delicious and staff were very attentive. They also have live music playing.
We went to The Beachcomber for breakfast the following morning. Again attentive staff
We would definitely stay again if in the area and would recommend to our friends. Nothing
- Stephen (10/5): Happy Stay - Plus, points.
Lovely comfortable bed.
Super large walk-in shower with plenty of hot water.
Everything you could want for in a cosy space. Minus points.
Nothing. The whole space was spotless, and the host is hands-on or hands-off if you want. We had a question, and she answered immediately.
I would love to return to this very special place. Thank you for a lovely, happy time.
- Clare (9/5): - Very comfortable, clean and welcoming. Thank you
- Julia (9/5): -
- Bent (10/5): A perfectly compact option in a great location. - All the facilities I needed in a perfect location close to the beach on local facilities Nothing
- Jeremy (9/5): - The facilities were good and location was perfect for our needs. Lack of water pressure in the electric shower. Absence of separate sink in which to do the washing up.
- Natalie (10/5): -
- Elle (10/5): An absolute gem - An absolute gem! Beautiful, clean, comfortable with an attention to detail with furniture and interiors you don't often find, except in superior boutique hotels. Friendly and welcoming host, Debbie. Easy instructions and access. lovely 10 minute walk straight down the quiet road to the beach. Quiet, so restful sleep on the extremely comfortable bed. Quality snacks and teas, coffee, milk and delicious granola all appreciated extras. Lovely linen and towels. The photos do not do it justice. Easy private parking. Hopefully it will be available next time I'm in the area because I will definitely be back. I didn't watch TV but dipped into the basket of books provided which was much more relaxing.
- Susan Janet (10/5): Fantastic couple of days. It was spotless and everything had been thought out. Anything you needed was there… would love -
- David (9/5): Very pleased with the accommodation and would certainly return. Highly recommended - Really helpful host and very comfortable and well appointed cabin
- Jaana (10/5): -
- Fabiano (10/5): - Un soggiorno perfetto!
Consigliatissimo, torneremmo volentieri!
- alister (10/5): - The whole thing was well set out I personally would have appreciated the use of a toaster
- Deborah (9/5): Would definitely return to stay at Barton Hollow when visiting family who live close by. - Had a very comfortable 3 night stay in a convenient location. Nothing!
- Noel (10/5): Beautiful property, helpful owner - Loved the cosy lay out, it is perfect for a long weekend (although we only stayed for a night, very jealous of those who can stay longer) The host Debbie was super friendly and welcoming and so helpful with her messages and always replied promptly! Everything was clean and tidy and there was enough of everything to last! The little courtyard was a lovely sun trap just wish we could have stayed longer and enjoyed a picnic out there! Only thing I would say and it’s nothing major was arriving at night there wasn’t (or I couldn’t see) any signs for the property but with the maps etc sent it was easy enough to find but a property sign would be beneficial 😁
- DEBORAH (10/5): Amazing cabin in a idea location, excellent value to money. - The location is a quiet street off the town of New Milton which is excellent for popping back for food as many cafes & shops to choose from or a lovely walk down towards Barton on Sea for a walk along the cliff top or down to the sandy beach ... very friendly hostess & nice to know she's there if needed or not, if u want to be left alone. Beautifully decorated and items included which you wouldn't expect to find ... books, battery powered candles etc. The welcome basket & info pack was a very lovely touch & much appreciated. Cabin was spotlessly clean & tastefully furnished and not cluttered, everything u needed for a short stay. Loved the small enclosed patio area for sitting for a quiet glass of wine after a long day travelling.
- Donna (9/5): - It was quiet and peaceful. We were met by the enthusiastic host. She left lovely snacks for us. Leaving. Wish we could have stayed another day to be able to rest and recharge.
- Emily (10/5): - Perfekte Unterkunft, sehr ansprechend eingerichtet, gute Lage, strandnah, nicht überlaufen, sehr zu empfehlen.
- Peter (8/5): A great nights sleep, will use again... - Nice & easy to use, plus loads of treats including fresh milk, tea/coffee, bottled water, crisps and biscuits supplied.
Will use again if in the area. N/A
- Udo (9/5): - Sehr sauber und deutlich besser als die Vorderansicht vermuten lassen hat. Jederzeit wieder :-)
- Sadeghi (10/5): - Everything was perfect; The host lady was incredibly kind and attentive to every detail. Thank you so much. Nothing at all.
It was a lovely stay.
- Erin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Helena (9/5): Superb - Lovely space, very comfortable. Beautiful coastline a short walk away - Cliff house for dinner and Beachcomber for breakfast were both great.
- Fiona (10/5): Highly recommended, this is a five star stay all the way. - This is a lovely place to stay. Tastefully decorated, comfortable and spotlessly clean with a very pretty and private outside seating area. There are some very thoughtful touches like the welcome pack, books to read etc. We loved it and only wished we could have stayed longer. It is only a 10 minute walk to the beach which was an added bonus.
- Kerry (9/5): Superb - Spotlessly clean. Great to have an outside area. Off street parking. Good size. The room was very warm and stuffy on arrival but it was during an exceptional heat wave. A fan would have been good.
- Dave (10/5): Exceptional - Very comfortable annex the Host has thought of everything there is a microwave and a fridge if you want to fix yourself something to eat there is crockery and cutlery the Host even offered to do my washing up for me! They also left tea and coffee and snacks with milk in the fridge lovely place to stay really enjoyed it. The Annex is part of a larger house and is a detached building at the top of the drive it is about a 10-minute walk to Barton beach and in the opposite direction a 10 minute walk to a Chinese takeaway or a Lidli supermarket. Nothing all good
- Bebeandthesoulman (10/5): Comfortable, quiet, value for money. - Milk and beverages, snacks cookies water and Muslii we're all provided. Everything was perfect
- Marilyn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Neil (10/5): Exceptional - Very accommodating owner , great communication and lovely place to stay . Close to all the amenities with a couple pubs and restaurants at the bottom of the road with beach walks. Highly recommend a stay as it's super quiet and very comfortable.
- Kelly (10/5): Lovely place in a quite location - It was clean tidy and clean. Had everything we needed for 3 nights away. I would have liked a king size bed as the double was a little small for us.
- Brian (9/5): Very enjoyable stay - Great location 500m from sea and bars. Very comfortable and new. Nice little garden. Great host. Quiet residential area.
- Lorraine (10/5): Exceptional - The cabin was perfectly located for us to attend a family wedding nearby. It was clean and had all that we needed. The host communicated well with us and it was easy to gain access. There was a small private patio. There was a fridge with milk and the host had left tea, coffee, granola, biscuits, crisps and bottles of water which were a very welcome addition. There was a parking space on the drive directly outside the cabin. The cabin was well lit and there was a very big TV. We were able to watch a programme on National Geographic which was a bonus. Highly recommended. The bed was a bit small for us (my husband is very tall). However this was not a surprise as it was clearly stated that there was a double bed and it did not spoil our stay.
- Martinwzzz (10/5): Excellent location and very comfortable. - The location is perfect for the New Forest and seaside. Facilities and comfort were great, everything I needed was there plus the chocolate chip cookies, crisps and milk in the fridge were very welcome. Parking was easy so I could come and go as I pleased.
The host was very welcoming and I will certainly stay again when down that way. Nothing.

- Elaine (10/5): Ralaxing, comfortable stay - very close to the beach - would definitely stay here again. - Clean, comfortable room - exactly as shown in the photos. Owner left a lovely welcome basket. N/A
- Roy (10/5): Comfortable, quiet, self-contained accommodation - Well located on quiet road between New Milton and the seafront at Barton, with off road parking. Good quality self-contained accommodation separate from the house, with even a small enclosed courtyard with outdoor seating. Debbie provided some provisions, there's a fridge and microwave plus plenty of crockery. Comfy room. We were staying just one night (for a concert at Forest Arts), but managed a couple of lovely walks around Hengistbury Head, and from Milford towards Hurst Castle (we ate in the lovely Beach House pub and could leave our car there). Nearest supermarket is a Lidl at the top end of the road. Would definitely stay here again.
