Guest Reviews
- Bucknall (8/5): -
- Malcolm (3/5): Comfortable but noisy - Location Paper thin walls and other guests very loud at night
- Pete (10/5): Best pub in town - The host Not much
- David (7/5): -
- David (3/5): - I believe it is used as a hostel, as signs stated ‘tenants must pay weekly rent on time or be evicted’
- Karthigeyan (7/5): -
- Wayne (1/5): I would not come back - The noise wasn't good I didn't get to sleep until late and had an early start The noise wasn't good I didn't get to sleep until late and had an early start
- Evie (1/5): One star review do not recommend unless you like to give hotel owners money for nothing. - I arrived to find the Hotel closed. Finally found someone who said he would cancel my booking. I was not reimbursed. They could have refunded my payment, as I didn't get to stay the night.
- Cornelis (5/5): -
- Lucie (4/5): - Les sanitaires étaient très très salle
- RACHEL (3/5): Disorganised - The room was clean and had fresh linen. On arrival, the venue stated they were closed, yet they accepted online booking. When staff arrived, he had no idea what was happening and allocated me a room that was already taken. A gentleman had a key to my room also.
- Chris (3/5): Get what you pay for - Not much
- Phil (9/5): The staff were amazing. So friendly and very helpful. Will definitely be back - Great heritage hotel with some interesting history.
- christine (1/5): Lousy and loud - This should be listed as hostel not hotel I am expecting 520 in refund by word of mouth with owner
- Gaewynne (2/5): Don't go there - We love to stay in old pubs for the experience and being able to connect with Australian culture but there was nothing to like about this place no restaurant as listed and the bar had closed by 8pm when we got back from getting a meal elsewhere so no chatting to the locals The room smelt so bad the bedding was manky and smelt bad. The cockroaches were running across the floor. The trip out to the bathroom outside on the back balcony made me feel unsafe as anyone had access to the building at the back. We know this as the front was locked up when we got back at 8 and no way to get in so we went round the back and walked straight in and climbed the stairs. No jug or cups to have a drink. We left as soon as we could.
- Tila (10/5): It was awesome sorry we left early we had to catch the earliest train from Nambour. Thank You 😊 🙏 - It was great close to everything.
- Craig (1/5): Rubbish do not book !!! - It was dirty there were crack heads in our room, we left after one night paid for two but forget it !!!!
- Peter (7/5): -
- John (1/5): Could not wait to leave in the morning to get away from the noise of the roadworks out the front. - There was nothing to like. No reception desk. The Hotel was not open. A total mess. Washing hanging over balconies. No heating in room. No television in room. It was freezing cold. No extra blankets. The Bar or Restaurant were not open. There was no warning that it was not open.
- Egan (4/5): Disappointing -
- Rosa (7/5): Over view of stay at Railway hotel Gympie - The hotel itsself No tea or coffee facilities provided
I have stayed at other venues and paid less and there has always been tea and coffee plus biscuits provided
I think your guests need to be treated better. Your bathroom facilities are in adequate
Staff and other guests were nice
- Hannan (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly Staff. Good value.
- Tom (9/5): Superb -
- Michael (3/5): Disappointed - Not much No TV or fridge but $120 for the night
- Glenn (5/5): Passable -
- Rachel (1/5): Bad - We booked in and never got to stay as no one was there to let us in. Called the number it was not connected, sent email no reply.
- Marilyn (7/5): Good -
- Hunnam (1/5): Bad -
- Janmaa (8/5): Railway Hotel - The staff and locals were really friendly and helpful . We had fun there
- Peter (1/5): Ghastly. Had better accommodation in drilling camps - Location Only thing worse than a room here would be to sleep on the streets. Ventilation was a big metal fan plugged into the only power point. Shared bathrooms had dirty wet towels lying on the floor. I booked for 2 nights but left after the first
- Beryl (10/5): The Best Stay - Everything Nothing
- Norm (3/5): Poor - No downstairs room my fault for not requesting a down stairs room however spoke to staff and theManager said they would refund my Payment as of, Now Monday 3.3.25 no payment received, Iam not holding my breath re refund most people say what you want hear regarding Money. As for the place in question staff great, building old did not venture upstairs so cannot comment on the rooms.thanks Norm.
- Lynne (3/5): Poor -
- Kristy (1/5): Bad -
- Kristy (1/5): Bad -
- Muhammad (5/5): It must have air cons or fans in the room. It was bloody hard to sleep in a hot summer night without fan - New bathrooms No fan or air cons
- Brennan (9/5): Superb - That staff were incredible. This will be an amazing hotel when they're finished sorting everything out.
- Tom (5/5): Passable -
- Matthew (9/5): Superb -
- Conor (10/5): Exceptional - Although a historic hotel , I done expect ac but ceiling fans would be more than sufficient for comfortable sleeping.
- Jacqueline (2/5): Woul not recommend unless they seriously dropped theroom rate - The staff were lovely Limited beer choices
Food very ordinary
Too expensive for what you got
No fly screens on windows
- Christopher (10/5): Christmas in Gympie - Staff where considerate relaxed and offerd a great dinner menu my brains a little funny so I can’t remember everything but the staff and locals with this hotel make the price a bargain Nothing negative about this property or the people booking in our employed by it
- Ravi (7/5): Good - The old time building has a fantastic charm to it.
The place was exceptionally clean.
The staff were incredibly friendly and supportive. No fan or aircon
- John (5/5): Passable -
- O'connor (9/5): Superb -
- Ha (7/5): Suitable for a quick overnight rest - The room is clean. Bed is comfy. They have shared bathroom but they are clean and well-maintanied. Staff is extremely nice and helpful. There is no fan or air-con in the room, making it quite warm. It would be hot in the summer, I reckon. Pretty noisy as you can hear people walking outside clearly.
- David (6/5): Pleasant - Staff member was friendly, helpful and efficient The bed was comfortable but the single pillow was very thin and soft which made it difficult to sleep.
- Ian (10/5): Great old pub for a stay over while travelling - I was made to feel welcome, the staff are exceptionally welcoming The only downside is the room had no fan or aircon
- Maria (4/5): Was happy to leave - Lovely & clean, staff were lovely. Room was just a room, no Tv, Aircon, windows opened onto a common verandah so couldn’t keep those open at night as no security, shared bathroom & toilets out on back veranda of hotel.
- Beckford (6/5): Pleasant - the staff was nice shared bathroom
- David (7/5): Staff were fabulous, friendly and couldn't do more to make our short stay comfortable - Didn't have breakfast facilities Private shower / toilet not shared
- Neil (1/5): Woeful ! - Friendly staff. (1 young lady) Apart from staff everything else. Poor location (Busy road, lots of traffic, hotel approx. 100 years old with facilities to suit. Timber floor boards which creaked every time I walked on them, shared toilet & bathroom facilities, no bar fridge or ceiling fan. All this for $140.00. Also online facility said there were only 4 rooms left available. I counted 6-7 at least. Not happy at all.
- Craig (4/5): Good for one night only -
- Nicole (7/5): Good - Staff were amazing- very helpful when a problem arose. Cleaning - shared bathrooms were not cleaned daily (wet towels sat in a basket the whole time, shower floor had puddles of water, toilet floor was also not clean).
- Ivan (7/5): pleasent - house beer was awesome
- Gerard (10/5): Exceptional - Clean comfortable and very secure rooms 😁, staff were fantastic 10 out of 10! I will be back, lock it in 😁😁! Also, the locals in the bar were friendly, helpful and generally top people. Didn't like leaving. Would have been keen to stay longer
