Guest Reviews
- Sue (10/5): Perfect - This accommodation is superb. Geoff and Paulette went above and beyond to welcome us and ensure we had everything we needed and more. Breakfast was made all the more special by watching the garden birds. The rooms are comfortable and we had use of the garden. We enjoyed chatting to the hosts and wished we could stay longer. Would highly recommend. Thank you. Nelson himself would enjoy it here. Absolutely nothing!
- Sheila (10/5): A lovely stay. - It was very quirky! Very comfortable bed, warm and cosy. The hosts were very welcoming and kind.
The breakfast was generous and delicious.
- susan (10/5): Wow, just Wow ! - Wow...just wow!
Geoff and Paulette were so lovely!
Comfortable, clean, homely with great quirky decor.
The fridge was packed with lovely breakfast goodies plus lots of other treats too.
Friendly pub 5 minute walk away and a fantastic location to discover the Norfolk Coast without having to travel miles....Oh, and the birds in the garden!
What a joy...will be returning for sure! Leaving
- Keith (10/5): Excellent choice if you would like a quirky experience. - what was provided was exceptional, more choice than i have ever experienced before while staying at other B&B’s. The location was in a quiet village location so a car is a must requirement, nevertheless we loved it. For bird lovers this location directly behind the village Pond was lovely and watching the bird activity through the window of the conservatory was fascinating. Geoff and Paulette are lovely hosts. Can’t think of anything.
- David (10/5): Quirky property, brilliant hosts, a relaxing treat. - Paulette and Geoff (hosts) Made us very welcome. The property itself was quirky, relaxing and presented so that everything we needed was available. Paulette and Geoff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. The numbers of birds visiting the garden was extraordinary and feeding the moorhen chicks who came up from the village pond into the garden was a treat. Not a thing.
- Tracey (10/5): A 2 night break to celebrate my partners birthday and it was a wonderful experience - Lovely couple who made us very welcome, glorious cabin full of treasures N/A
- Julie (10/5): Great cabin, great location. - Fabulous cabin, run by a lovely couple.
- Claire (10/5): A truly unique and charming place to stay. - Our hosts were lovely, extremely friendly, very helpful and really went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Nelsons Cabin was delightfully quirky and offered an extraordinary show of british garden birds from dawn to dusk right outside our window. I would not consider myself a "bird watcher" but I was totally entranced by them. The cream tea that greeted our arrival was also very much appreciated. In addition there was also very generous quantities of tea, coffee, milk, bread and biscuits provided - we did not go hungry! No complaints, everything was good.
- Tracie (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely delightful, everything you could ever need in a lovely compact quirky super-comfy cabin.
Delicious bread, fruit, yoghurts and cereals and lovely homemade scones were a real treat.
Really recommend Nelson’s Cabin
- Ela (10/5): Exceptional - What a lovely place to stay, small but comfortable. Great selection of food for breakfast. Helpful and friendly owner. We really enjoyed the weekend 😃 Na
- Frances (10/5): A quiet sanctuary that will cater for vegans - What a find! We stayed in Nelson's Cabin for 2 nights for a wedding nearby but we loved this secret hideaway so much we wished we had longer to stay and relax. The space is small but very careful thought has gone into fitting in lots of useful features and appliances, so it feels like being in a well-equipped canal boat. A splendid continental breakfast was included but we'd requested a vegan cooked breakfast to see us through to the wedding reception in the late afternoon. For a very reasonable charge Paulette went out of her way to make us a particularly good vegan breakfast, beautifully presented, with a big pot of tea, and that set us up for the day. While we ate, we enjoyed watching the birds on the feeder close by, Geoff having helped us with bird identification the day before. The breakfast was one of the weekend's highlights, as was getting back cold and late after the wedding to find the electric blanket had been put on ready for us! We felt genuinely cared for during our stay. There's not much room for suitcases – so bring soft bags you can unpack, fold up and put away under the bed.
- Dianne (10/5): perfect hosts - breakfast was all i needed and more
in a perfect location you can't improve on perfection
- Paul (10/5): Ideal place to stop if you want to visit the area around North Norfolk. - We stayed for a few days to explore the North Norfolk coast and the location was perfect to visit the area by car. The accommodation is quaint and unusual and Paulette and Geoffrey were perfect hosts providing a choice of breakfasts and other treats and made sure we had everything we needed, even offering to help with cooking a meal on one day as well as offering guidance and recommendations on good local restaurants and pubs. Having breakfast every morning and watching the birds feeding right alongside us is a memory we will keep.
- Black (10/5): Excellent stay fabulous accommodation and wonderful hosts. -
- Jennifer (10/5): A very happy experience. - Paulette and Geoff were exceptional hosts, never intrusive but always available to answer questions and offer suggestions. The cabin was a fascinating place to stay - lots to look at inside, and set in a beautiful garden. The food provided for breakfast was plentiful, of good quality and varied. An excellent location for visiting the many delights to be found in Norfolk. There was nothing I would have wished to be different.
- Jennifer (10/5): Exceptional -
- Martin (10/5): Lovely place and a credit to Geoff and Paulette who go out of their way to make you welcome - Everything… very clean .. very comfortable.. all amenities and some lovely memorabilia.. safe parking and quiet… oh and birds I’ve never seen before.. beautiful
- Vanessa (10/5): Wonderful stay in a beautiful home surrounded by nature - Everything about the property was lovely. Geoff and Paulette were fantastic hosts, they were incredibly friendly and provided a great array of breakfast foods and more. From fresh scones, eggs, cheese and biscuits, chocolate, fruit and delicious bread, yoghurt, etc., we had plenty of choice. We enjoyed the little visits from their pet cat, being surrounded by nature with plenty of birds and a beautiful pond outside, the wonderful living space off the bedroom, and it was just overall a lovely escape from home. I would definitely recommend for a visit to North Creake.
- Ronnie (9/5): Superb -
- Beth (10/5): Enjoyed every minute. - paulette and Geoff were exemplary hosts going the extra mile - and then some. Warm, friendly and fun they both welcomed us with enthusiasm and shared their love of birds in their lovely garden with us, demonstarting an in depth local knowledge of what to find where. The accomodation was like an Aladdiins cave full of curios and antiques which was very interesting. The week flew by too fast! We knew it was a cabin, but space was at a premium, of which Paulette and Geoff made the very best of. It is not a criticism, but a shame that it wasn't a little more spacious for us larger people.
- Nicola (10/5): Great hosts, superb accommodation and lovely location - Geoff and Paulette were wonderful hosts. They made us feel so welcome and the accommodation was really homely and spotlessly clean. There is also a family run pub nearby that serves great food and the locals are all super friendly.
- Glynis (10/5): Exceptional - Very lovely atmosphere with the birds and pond. Nice walk to the local for food. Driving distance to other places Nothing
- Paul (9/5): Excellent, great value for money , we shall return - Cosy and very well equipped with everything you could need . Fantastic continental breakfast selection , we just loved everything about it
- Gillian (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent plenty of choice
- Sandi (10/5): We enjoyed a lovely weekend at this location where every need was catered for. Highly recommended - Everything. Geoff and Paulette were perfect hosts. We received a very warm welcome and were made to feel relaxed and at home. Use of the conservatory with fridge, microwave and TV was an added bonus N/A
- Kerry (10/5): Fab little hideaway - Couldn't be more welcoming and anymore accommodating! The cabin had everything you could possibly need and more. Breakfast provided was far more than expected, and we felt a little bad that we left so much uneaten. We could have literally turned up with our clothes and a hair brush for the weekend. Everything else had been thought about!
Lovely little day room set in the most fabulous garden with plenty of birds coming and going to watch whilst eating breakfast.
We've already made recommendations to family if they are heading in this direction. Would definitely make a visit again in the future. No dislikes from us 😀
- Andrew (9/5): A characterful and comfortable refuge in a quiet village close to the North Norfolk coast. - The cabin is a lovely refuge in cul-de-sac off a side street of a quiet Norfolk village, but not many miles from Burnham Market and Holkham Beach. The cabin part is a comfortable place for two people to relax, eat a light meal (microwave, toaster and fridge, no cooker or other cooking facilities). There are gardens with abundent bird life and a pond close by. Owners (who live in the main part of the house) are very friendly and the food provided went well beyond breakfast for us. The bedroom and shower room were fine for our purposes. Easy parking. A successful stay. It is not a large property and there are lots of ornaments and curios, so there is not much empty space for visitors luggage etc. The only pub in the village was closed during our Sunday evening to Tuesday morning stay, so we travelled to Burnham Thorpe and Burnham Market for dinner.
- Janice (10/5): We had a lovely stay in the pleasant surroundings Very good value - all very nicely got up, quaint, convenient. Copious and fresh and healthy breakfast provided
- Kate (10/5): Really nice place to stay - Location was excellent and breakfast was superb Hmm … nothing really
- Martin (10/5): Comfortable, welcoming, we’ll definitely be back. - Very welcoming, made sure we had everything we needed. Lovely selection of fresh fruits. Great to have use of a dining/sitting room and the independence to make use of it as we needed throughout our stay. Looking forward to making a return trip!
- Richard (10/5): Very pleasant indeed, and we'll certainly be back. - A lovely and interesting place to stay. The hosts are very friendly, helpful and attentive. It's very well located for that part of the north Norfolk coast, but is still peaceful and out of the way.
- Jane (9/5): Superb - Comfortable accomodation. Breakfast - plus much more supplied.
Delightful couple to meet.
Ducklings just hatched in the pond! Nothing we didn't like.
- Jenny (10/5): Thoroughly enjoyable, we hope to return in the summer. - Geoff & Paulette are wonderful hosts.
The ‘cabin’ was cosy and warm and a very lovely selection of food was provided for our breakfast. It was a great base for us to explore the North Norfolk coast. We would return in ‘a heart beat’. Thankyou xxx Only one thing, and it’s not a dislike! the settee needs to be a little more comfortable, perhaps just a small two seater.
