Guest Reviews
- Alison (1/5): Disappointed - Beds extremely comfortable
Lovely area Didn't receive toilet rolls, logs and hand towels until 2nd night of 3 night stay.
Broken jagged window. Stained carpet. Table leg broken. Grill dirty. Bathroom tap hanging. Towel rail fell off."toiletries consisted of hand soap only" no parking. Steep steps. Outside seating unusable due to overgrown weeds. View could only be seen from inside house. We expected better from booking.com and we have still not had a response from them not even to acknowledge photos submitted

- Guest (8/5): Memorable - Location excellent spotlessly clean lovely comfy beds and good bed linen . Could of done with a mirror in the bedrooms only mirror in one of the bredrooms and the bathroom
Outside of the property was a bit untidy and needed outside lighting that worked
- Claire (6/5): An acceptable property, marred by some maintenance issues. - The location of the property was brilliant - close to wonderful walks, and a short drive to town for essentials. It had a well stocked kitchen with all the utensils needed. The shower was also hot and glorious after a long day of walking and exploring the Peak District. The outdoor space was overgrown with weeds, and overall not as useable as advertised. There was no wood or coal available for the bbq, which was dirty anyway. The outdoor space also did not provide the view that was hoped as it was behind a wall, however the window sill in the lounge made up for this.
Unfortunately one of the bedroom doors is broken and did not close.
- Derek (8/5): Very good -
- Natasha (8/5): Very good - The views are unmatched with wonderful cosy fireplace in the evenings. When driving through the area around Cressbrook, the locals are super friendly and accommodating. The kitchen is fully kitted out with everything we needed. Easy walks and plenty of host guidance and suggestions to enhance your experience. To get the unmatched views, understandably the drive into accommodation felt scary for a city driver (steep inclines and narrow parking), but once we got the hang of it, it was brilliant fun.
- Paul (7/5): Good -
- Julie (8/5): Good size for our small group with working kitchen and warm log burner - Had everything for an easy stay, good views and warm Unfortunately we’re unable to sit outside and enjoy the view
- Clarke (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful cosy retreat! Brilliant value for money. Excellent location with loads to explore locally. So peaceful at night. Everything was included and more. Definitely coming back!
- Sophia (8/5): A lovely few days with family in a great location - View and location
Cosy once warm especially with a real fire I think the house may have been empty before us. It would have been nice if the heating had been on before we got there as the first evening was chilly. Lovely and warm for the rest of the visit.
- Cerianne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rob (9/5): Lovely quiet cottage. - Lovely little cottage with full kitchen and outside area. Loads of character and nice and tidy and comfortable. Amazing walks and views in every direction.
- Lorraine (9/5): Fabulous - Excellent location. Very clean property and possibly the most comfortable mattress I have ever slept on! It soon felt like a home from home. Highly recommended. Only one very minor issue is that we could have done with an extra frying pan!
