• EMma (10/5): An unforgettable escape, breathtaking beach views, sunsets from the spa, perfection! - We had the most incredible weekend escape from Sydney. We arrived in the evening and were excited to see the spa was hot and ready for us to jump right in. When we woke in the morning, walking out and seeing the view over the beach literally took our breath away, we even woke early the next morning to watch the sunrise. We ended up spending more time than planned at the apartment as we wanted to soak in those views - the photos don't do it justice. Every detail in the apartment and complex felt thoughtful and high-quality. The coffee machine was such a treat in the mornings, and the comfiest bed… felt like we were in a fancy hotel! The location is fantastic, around the corner from Anna Bay, which meant sandboarding with the kids was a breeze (and so much fun), and also close to lots of beaches and Nelson Bay for plenty of meal options. Perfect for families or anyone needing a reset by the sea. We have promised the kids that we'll be back soon. Highly, highly recommend! Nothing

• Christopher (10/5): Outstanding property with spectacular views - Outstanding property. We stayed with a 1 year old and the layout was ideal for her. Stairs to access (fine) but all on one floor once you get in and very toddler friendly. Everything was wonderful - beds, cot supplied, kitchen facilities, spaciousness, verandah, spa, lounges, TV/surround sound. And the host Grant was very responsive even delivering coffee beans when we needed a refill for the coffee machine. A short trip to beautiful One Mile Beach and Anna Bay shopping centre. And the view is absolutely stunning!!

Highly recommended! - If you are looking for a comfortable, modern and well kept property with stunning beach views, this is the place for you! The apartment is beautiful and bright with a lovely coastal theme throughout. It is clean and spacious with a well stocked kitchen. The huge outdoor deck comes with its own private heated spa -perfect for star gazing at night or relaxing with an ocean view by day. There is also plenty of outdoor seating plus loungers for sunbaking. Other features we appreciated included a private double lock-up garage with easy access to the apartment and the actual location of the apartment within the complex - near the pool but still very private and quiet. Communication with host was also excellent - Grant was very responsive to messages and was a pleasure to deal with. Overall, we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at The Deckhouse and I highly recommend it for a relaxing family or small group getaway. WIFI connection was very poor (not the fault of the property owner) so we were unable to connect to any apps (eg paramount, Disney+ etc. ) on the TV to view movies or programs. As our stay was a short one this didn't really effect our time however, might be a concern for a longer stay.

• Mikey (10/5): I think I've said it all. But one word comes to mind, ‘stunning’. - I have to say this was one of the best, if not the best, properties we have stayed at. The house overlooks Boat Harbour and beyond. The views are just spectacular. The owners were so accommodating towards us. From prior check-in to checking-out, we felt comfortable communicating our arrival time (even if it was a day late). They were so lovely with our location mix-up and even offered us an extra night to make up for our fault for being the one we missed. The house is fully equipped with everything one can wish for. The deck has 180-degree views, which, if you desire, you can see from the hot tub. All I can say is, don’t worry if you’ve forgotten to bring things, as the house has everything you could need. Once relaxed in the spa, you can top up your tan on the sundeck. No view is obstructed, so you have the sun all day long—a lovely place to have nibbles and, like us, a cocktail or two. The location is within easy reach of One Mile Beach, the local shopping square at Anna Bay and a short drive to Nelson Bay, Salamander Bay and Corlette, Port Stephens. Our little trip to Boat Harbour was beautiful. The owner recommended we dine at The Anchorage, Corlette. Stunning food and a view from our table across the waters of Port Stephens were magical. If you find something wrong at the property, you look far too hard!!

When we arrived there was a lovely Christmas hamper from the owner which was such a nice treat. The apartment is very spacious and well appointed - we especially loved the huge deck and outdoor spa. The apartment is on the top floor and has stunning views over One Mile Beach. The sunset every evening was so beautiful! We would definitely stay there again.

The host was very accommodating and made time to drop off items that we needed. The view was impeccable! The kitchen was spacious and the open plan lounge, dining and kitchen area made it easy to hang out while cooking. It was a little hard to navigate up and down the steep hills, to originally find the apartment, especially with a large car. But once you find it, it’s not too bad. The oven seal is broken and most of the heat escapes into the kitchen making it quite hot. There were not enough PowerPoints in the shared bedroom. But besides that, it was perfect.
