Guest Reviews
- Steve (10/5): - The host kept us informed though out the lead up to our stay .the accommodation was lovely with a great outdoor space where you could sit and eat
We booked the hot tub witch was perfect.
And added bonus was the host keeps Alpacas
Which your welcome to feed once daily
Would recommend this place
Very short drive to Abergavenny. And places of interest
- Carole (8/5): Weekend away - Location was beautiful, so peaceful and quiet. Property was lovely and provided everything we needed for the 3 days we were there ( almost like a home from home) . No issues
- Yvonne (10/5): Eve - So relaxing, very very comfortable, and a dream escape to get away from all of life's chaos ✨️ Everything perfect
- Colin (10/5): Had a fab short break, highly recommended - Clean, comfortable, spacious, hot tub and beautiful alpacas. Fab hill walks within 10 mins drive
- Louise (5/5): - Was absolutely stunning the alpacas was amazing The hot water and heating turned off at a certain time and the door in the bedroom attached to the owners house

- Liam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dave (10/5): In our opinion this property beats top hotels for best place for weekend break - The property was even better than in the photos, everything was perfect i really couldnt complain about anything. There was everything you could want, and the hot tub was just the icing on the cake.
A perfect couples place if you just want to chillout with beautiful views all around. Paradise in Wales. Having to go home....
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional - 10/10 the best best ever to relax. Nothing
- Louise (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sebastian (10/5): Exceptional - Easy check in, had the place to ourselves and the alpaca were a lovely addition to the stay
- Clare (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely and comfy, clean, everything we needed and more included. Convenient location for what we had planned. Loved the alpacas. We liked everything.
- Rebecca (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely clean cottage with everything which we needed. View of mountain and Alpacas.
Hosts were friendly and welcoming.
Definitely would stay here again planning the next trip already.
- James (10/5): Lovely location, beautiful views. - The location was really good for the views and not too far to Abergavenny.
The layout was perfect and had everything you need for a weekend away or even longer if required. Apparently reading other reviews they got some Welsh cakes on arrival; this wasn’t the case when we arrived so a bit disappointed.
We wasn’t sure if we could go to the alpacas unaccompanied as didn’t see anything that said it was fine to go see them and feed them. We only knew as a volunteer told us on Saturday afternoon.
- Dennis (7/5): Ok - Key didn't open door easily, final day we were locked in for 5 minutes and considering climbing out of the window before we eventually unlocked the door.
- Leslie (8/5): Very good - The alpacas! No guest book for comments although we got round this by texting them.
- Macey (10/5): 100% recommed x - Firstly… WOW. From the views, to the alpacas, to the cottage everything was beyond perfect.
The view was breathtaking, the pictures DO NOT do it justice, we were surrounded by mountains, the farm was well maintained, the flowers surrounding the property were beautiful.
Would highly recommend to anybody wanting a peaceful getaway, local to Abergavenny town centre. Easy to find, great value for money.
The alpacas were well kept, they looked happy and healthy. Feeding crates available within the fields for guests, this we particularly enjoyed and found to be a surreal experience.
Martin & Libby were so kind and helpful. On arrival we received a message with contact information, if we needed anything they were available to provide help. I briefly spoke to Martin a handful of times in which he was helpful with us getting settled into the property.
The property itself was immaculate, the rooms were modernised, clean and tidy. There was a binder on the countertop with useful information like the WiFi password, a list of the alpacas names and again contact information. The cupboards were filled with high quality utensils which we made full use of, the bed was comfortable and the tv in the living room had all channels and streaming services and even included a guest account for Netflix. A small milk was provided in the fridge.
Overall the experience was phenomenal, we will definitely be back and we highly recommend. We will also be trying out the other little cabins on sight. We cannot wait to become regulars.
Thank you so much,
Macey and Meg x N/A
- Gillian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susan (2/5): The surrounding area was lovely, and the property could be very nice if it had a thorough clean. - The property was very grubby and dirty, particularlythe kitchen and bathroom. I did not like to cook very much in the kitchen, the oven was very dirty. In all it was not somewhere I would like to return to.
- Teresa (7/5): Great location, needs updating and cleaning - The location It was dated, the bathroom had mold around grout, there was sour milk left in fridge and freezer compartment was frozen over so couldn’t use
- Andrew (6/5): Dated but could be really nice - Feeding the alpacas was a nice touch Parking was tight especially the day we were leaving when there was another car in the parking area.
The outside area was uneaven and the furniture not very comfortable. Not very inviting at all and outlook poor
The kitchen was well equipped but a bit dated and dirty dishes. Why don't the owners check that previous visitors cleaned them before new visitors arrive. Dish washers are rubbish if not used right.
The second door into the bedroom joined the owners property so you could hear them .
Bathroom dated and shower in bath very tight and pleased the wife and I are not big people.
The rest of the property was clean and comfortable.
- Jomps (8/5): Lovely quiet cottage with a field of alpacas for neighbours. Highly recommend the place. - The peace and quiet of the cottage, feeding the alpacas, fresh country air and sitting out in the beautiful stary nights.
Our hosts Libby and Martin were very friendly and introduced us to the alpacas.
- Jana (10/5): Exceptional - Feeding alpacas was a fantastic experience :-).
- Ellen (9/5): Superb -
- Vicci (9/5): Would love to stay for longer -
- David (8/5): Excellent. Ideal for our purpose and we would return for a longer stay to explore the area. - Wasp nest above the entrance door.
- Shannon (9/5): Superb -
- Steve (10/5): Swallows Nest, peaceful getaway - The cottage is in a fantastic location with beautiful views of the nearby hills. The alpaca farm is really close and easy to access, and the alpacas are very friendly (once you've given them some food). The area is peaceful and quiet, but the bustling town of Abergavenny is a short drive away for anything you need. The owners are lovely and helpful, not that you need much as the cottage is well equipped and comfortable.
- Avinash (10/5): Thoroughly enjoyed the quiet escape from the city we needed. Gorgeous surroundings but close to town - The place was so clean and quiet. The hosts even left us a card and flowers for our anniversary! Nothing, it was fantastic
- Frankie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (10/5): Beautiful setting, beautiful decorated cottage, a perfect weekend away. - The interior is amazing, finished to such a high standard and with everything that was needed for the weekend away. Great location, so peaceful yet only a ten minute drive away from the town.
- Andrea (9/5): Superb -
- Darren (8/5): Very good -
- John (8/5): Very good - The accomodation was clean, well looked after and cozy. It is set in a beautiful location and our hosts we're lovely introducing us to their alpacas and letting us feed them
- Lisa (10/5): A tranquil relaxing weekend, which wasn't long enough! Really looking forward to our next stay!! - The location was exceptional and the cosy cottage was spotless ,we really enjoyed the interaction with the Alpacas! Our hosts were great nothing was too much trouble. A very relaxing weekend, we will definately be returning! Nothing.
- Jim (10/5): Exceptional - Great place, fabulous views and loved the alpacas
- Irene (8/5): Really enjoyed the peace and quiet - very quiet which we loved! some cobwebs in the kitchen!
- Green (10/5): 3 night friends getaway to chill - Stunning location , has everything you need as a home from home even some milk in fridge and tea and coffee ready for you. The alpacas are friendly and you can feed them. Owners were lovely and even gave us a lift home from supermarket when we bumped into them. Lots of walks nearby or plenty of area to just chill if you stay in. Was a 40 min walk to train station and just a little more into Abergavenny itself. We were nervous booking as such new reviews and we wouldn't normally spend quite as much on lodgings but other than that nothing we didn't like !
