Guest Reviews
- Sylvia (10/5): We had a lovely winter break, the log burner made everything cosy - Cosy, the enclosed garden was great for the dog. Nothing
- Petina (6/5): We won’t be back. - The location was awesome.
The view from the front is amazing. You can walk everywhere from the location.
The beds were fairly comfortable. Sheets and towels were nice and clean.
There’s a welcome basket which was lovely.
The quick response from the rental people re the flies was amazing.
The whole places looks so pretty … at first … presents so well until you look closely. The dryer was broken.
The Lounges were terrible ! Couldn’t sit comfortably ever. Like they were sooooo bad. They fall straight into the middle the instant you sit on them.
The constant flies coming into the bathroom. They must be breeding in the walls and then enter the bathroom via the exhaust fan.
The sensitive plumbing. Which I totally get with these old places but it was annoying.
Around the bath stays wet all the time. It must have a leak somewhere.
The awful dank smell that is constant. Didn’t matter how much air freshener I used the smell never went.
The whole place needs a really good clean. Under the beds were revolting.
Also we were given the wrong lockbox code.

- Jon (8/5): Nice apartment possibly would stay here again but out of season when it would likely be quieter. - The location was perfect for Port Isaac and Port Gaverne. Nice clean apartment. Nice lounge although settees were not the most comfortable, for being too low and cushions prone to move away from the back. Good sized kitchen, well equipped. Comfortable bed and pillows. Nice court yard for sitting out. Being in a larger building other peoples noise could be a problem. The bathroom was the downside. The showerhead was too grand for the size of the shower screen. My husband is over 6 foot and was unable to stand up under the shower. First morning water everywhere due to gap in the wall end of the shower screen. Combination of all mentioned, showering was not a relaxing event.

- Alana (10/5): Enjoyed my stay - Had everything I needed.Great location.Parking on site. Bit expensive for what it was.Furniture bit tired, but comfy.
- Friederike (7/5): A lovely destination with great views and walks. - The loc Our flat was directly under another which was occupied so I’m afraid there was constant noise from above.
- Shirley (8/5): Love Port Gavern and Port Isaac and would highly recommend a visit. - The proximity to Port Gavern and Port Isaac, the kitchen which was very well equipped and clean. The space was cosy and clean. The sensitive plumbing and the difficulty opening the lock box when we arrived. The lock box was rusted and stiff. The bath sometimes took over an hour to drain properly after a shower and the toilet didn't always flush.
- Anne (10/5): Fantastic location and gorgeous cottage with everything you need. - I just wanted to say how much we enjoyed staying at your beautiful cottage, which was lovely and had everything we needed. The best part was in the morning when I got up early and walked down the path alongside the building and saw the view of the ocean and the headland in the distance. It is truly spectacular, and brought back so many memories of when I visited Port Isaac as a child. We were very lucky with the weather, which was sunny every day we were there. The location of your cottage is just perfect, especially being in such a secluded location at the end of The Terrace. Out of the whole 30 days we were in the UK I can honestly say my favourite three days were staying in your cottage at Port Isaac, and would love to have stayed longer. I will definitely be back ☺️ The only issue we had was that there was a sewerage odour coming from the toilet. I'm assuming the plumbing there is very old but getting this fixed would definitely be a big plus!
- Johannes (10/5): Dream accommodation cosy and comfortable - Everything. Top ambiance. Friendly people fulfilling wishes with a smile. We stayed 5 nights and felt at home. no complaints whatsoever
- Ashton (8/5): Very good - Location close to the sea Garden and access path were a bit overgrown
- John (9/5): A comfortable stay in a well-equipped property in one of England’s most attractive locations - Ideally situated on the cliff top above Port Isaac and Port Gaverne with the facilities of both villages within easy reach. Bosuns Locker is a comfortable, well equipped property and is clearly well looked-after
- Stuart (10/5): Exceptional - Nice small cottage Bath was high to get in and out of and needed a grab/steady handle to hold
- Georgina (8/5): Lovely place for a getaway - Location was perfect and the parking space was a real bonus Nothing to dislike but the outside area could be better utilised and cared for
- Emlyn (7/5): Fantastic location to explore port Isaac and the coast line and a pleasant and cosy cottage - Location …Bedrooms were comfortable Well equipped kitchen .. with nice welcome kit Cleaning was superficial… under close examination some plates glasses and utensils were not thoroughly cleaned and in and under the sofa bed much dirt was found also cobwebs under one of the beds
- Anne (9/5): Very pleasant stay in a lovely apartment - with a few hiccups! - The whole apartment was very pleasant. The kitchen facilities were superb including the washer and dryer, all very compact in the room. The beds and bed linen were very good, heating was excellent, crockery and cutlery were excellent. Apartment was very bright and airy and tastefully decorated. The bath/shower was a bit difficult for older people. Could have been improved with the installation of a grab rail in wall as extra support while trying to get in and out of shower. The chairs in living room need replacing or at least repairing as you sink down very low in them and it’s almost impossible to get out of them. The front door deadlock needs replacing as it totally seized up resulting in our inability to get into the property one evening. Very difficult for o/s visitors who don’t have local phone connection to call for help. Thanks to the assistance of a neighbor we eventually gained entry after 1O pm. Very scary!
- Lusby (10/5): Exceptional - It's such a lovely place to stay ,haven't got a bad word to say ,tuck away in a quiet area, and looking over fantastic views, but a short walk to all local shops for all your needs and a short walk down to port issac beech.
Also, having your own parking place is a big plus will be back next year..
- Catherine (8/5): We’ll appointment apartment with parking space and good WiFi - Beds super comfortable. Very clean The down pipe outside the property was cracked which leaked cold water onto the safe lock. Not a good welcome
- Ian (10/5): Port Isaac breakaway - The whole place exceeded our expectations. The facilities are excellent and location fantastic. We would highly recommend this property to anyone.
- Lesley (10/5): Perfect, a cosy confortable home from home! - It was comfortable cosy and well thought out. The beds were so comfortable and there was everything you would need. It was winter so the addition of a log burner was wonderful ! Close to the centre of port Issac and the coastal walks were amazing. We loved it and will definitely be returning! The hosts Emma and Sarah were friendly and helpful also quick to answer any questions we had. All in all a perfect stay! There was some mould behind the toilet but given the time off year understandable! Otherwise housekeeping had done an amazing job!
- Simone (10/5): Great stay in a lovely house. Thank you so much - fabulous location and excellent host
- Martin (8/5): Very good - Great location Could do with an outside light on the path up to the cottage for dark evenings .
- Kate (8/5): Very good - The property was lovely, really good location, very clean and well supplied A little expensive, no views from any of the windows - brick walls outside both bedroom windows
- Deborah (9/5): Lovely place to stay! Definitely recommend. - Bosuns Locker was very well placed for visiting Port Issac and the surrounding areas. We walked to Port Issac along the coastal path, and it was lovely, easy access, and lots to see. Seagulls resting on the cliffs, Sparrows here and there, and Swifts darting about. Sunshine, beautiful turquoise waters, cliffs, and seeing where our beloved Doc Martin was filmed. Very good!
The flat was very well set out and we were very happy with the its cleanliness, the car park space and the welcoming pack was so nice and a very thoughtful gesture. There was enough loo roll, tea towels, bin liners, etc. Very well presented! Thank you to the team! The single beds were very tight together but okay.
Someone had broken the wine corkscrew, which had no screw, and the other was wonky.
There could have been a bigger frying pan and lid for those people who do like to also eat at their holiday home. But more plus's than negatives.
- Edward (6/5): Pleasant stay but cramped. Suit shorter rather than longer stay and with max 3 people. - Great location and has all facilities you would need in a holiday stay. Beds very comfortable and quality linen used. Very clean on arrival. Handy parking and easy to reach Port Gaverne and Port Isaac. Enclosed space is useful for keeping dog in and safe. Property is cramped - too much unnecessary furniture. Because it’s below another flat, you can hear all their noise. Nowhere to dry clothes and wetsuits outside and doesn’t have any sun to sit in (when it’s out!) Property felt damp when we arrived - possibly been empty for a bit)
- Barbara (8/5): For location it would be hard to beat. Superb views just outside the front gate (20metres away). - There is no reception here and it is basically an air bnb. It was expensive, however, it was in a very good location in Port Isaac and easy working distance to the port (however, there are a few hills to negotiate. Free car parking was a bonus. and the facilities were of a good standard. The lounge was quite uncomfortable and low. we had to sit on three cushions to be comfortable and the whole living area is quite compact.
- Craig (10/5): Well worth the visit to Port Isaac one in the memory bank and chalked off bucket list. - Not Applicable Area outside property could have been made more sun lounger friendly.
Plants over grown and some were beyond help.
Just a suggestion.
- Rebecca (10/5): Exceptional -
- Zsolt (9/5): Superb - Clear and comfortable apartment. Could have been a bit warmer . I struggled a bit with the boost function of the heating, but you can use the multi-burner stove.
