Guest Reviews
- Kelly (10/5): - Liked everything about the lodge
Very relaxing and comfortable
Lovely weekend break Can't find any faults
- Warwick (9/5): Relaxing and quiet in a beautiful part of the world. - Location, location, location. It was a very quiet, clean and well appointed cosy cottage, just a stone's throw from the beach and within walking distance from Aldeburgh. We'd go back tomorrow. No ice cube tray!
- Andy (10/5): - Really liked the location, close to the beach in Thorpeness. Great shower and log burner. The whole property was well fitted and felt homely. Will stay again. Nothing about the property not to like
- Viktoriya (10/5): This was one of the best stays we’ve had in years! The lodge is absolutely gorgeous — spotless, beau - Absolutely love it! Everything is perfect!

- Rob (10/5): Lovely cottage located a few metres from the beach & local amenities. A great base to explore the area - Perfect location to explore Thorpeness, Aldeburgh & the surrounding area. Nothing
- Chris (10/5): Fantastic quality lodge close to the beach - Great location 2 minutes walk from the beach, beautiful beach house, great facilities and quality fixtures and fittings. Amazing shower, comfy bed and lovely vibe. We loved it! It was great!
- Christine (10/5): Very relaxing and comfortable - It was a very comfortable and stylish cottage Nothing
- Carole (9/5): Quiet, comfortable accomadation - Compact but complete with all amenities. Nice outside space. Well presented and clean. Good central location. Access to road was on an acute bend. Bit of a lottery getting out as the road is used a lot as it leads to Aldeburgh.
- Jennifer (9/5): Relaxing peaceful and had good night sleep due to darkness all around. - Would be more helpful more solid parking my help to reduce bringing sand into property.
But not a problem.
- Karl (8/5): A very pleasant and peaceful stay close to the beach, but close to amenities. - A great little property for 2 people in a great location for Thorpeness and Aldeburgh, and just yards from the beach. The property was clean, but it wasn't sparkling. It wouldn't stop me from staying there again, but a little more attention to detail in the cleaning would have made it exceptional.
- Andrew (9/5): very pleasant stay in a small but well formed and provisioned lodge - n/a need a brush and dustpan
- Linda (10/5): Brilliant little property in a great location. - Lovely little property in a great location. Although small the lodge was cosy and had everything we needed. It was clean and bright and comfortable. The added bonus of sun loungers in the courtyard was brilliant. The kitchen was well stocked and the oven easy to use. The shower was excellent. All round very happy with our stay. Just a small thing but a larger saucepan would have been handy for boiling pasta!
- Patricia (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (10/5): Exceptional - Layout Nothing
- Colin (9/5): Able to relax in a good location and ammenities close by. - Clean and tidy, with good quality furnishings. Parkign next to the property and off road. Private patio area. Close to beach. Location perfect to explore the area. The recycling arrangements were rather confusing. The explaination in the information pack e.g. colours of bins did not match what was actualy on site.
- John (9/5): Superb -
- Clare (10/5): Wonderful accommodation - Very clean and lovely accommodation Nothing
- Neil (10/5): Excellent, will return a -
- Raymond (7/5): Ok - Not a lot hot water for shower sheets not very clean on bed 🥺
- Judith (9/5): Fabulous. Wish we had booked for longer. - Location perfect. So close to the sea and we walked to the pub, and a fabulous place for breakfast Would have liked a table and chairs outside, rather than sun loungers; a very personal and tiny issue tho'
- Gillian (10/5): Cosy, Comfortable and Perfectly Located to Enjoy this Part of Suffolk and the Coast. - I had never been to Suffolk so the area was a delightful surprise. Mission Lodge was especially comfortable with everything I needed for my stay. The weather was particularly miserable while I was there and one day cold and wet. However I had a personal visit to see if I wanted heating temperature increased. As I had already made up the log fire it was all very cosy and continued to stay warm during my visit. For self-catering nearby supermarkets are a bit limited but the Co-op in Aldeburgh has Cook frozen meals which I can highly recommend as I always look out for them when I am away. These are also also available at Friday Street Farm shop, Aldeburgh, along with excellent choices of fresh meat, dairy etc and some independent shops in the town.
It is also worth looking out for local weekly markets where there are stalls selling fresh produce.
Although the lack of a quality supermarket is something I have listed as an initial problem, it was my first time in the area and, on future visits, I would very much enjoy visiting local small towns to try out independent producers.
- Louise (8/5): Good option for self-catering - Quiet location, has parking, well decorated, private outdoor seating area. Lack of toiletries including toilet roll that was stated as included. Bed was quite low. Lack of visibility of oncoming traffic exiting the road.
- K (10/5): We enjoyed our stay here and being able walk to both Thorpness and Aldeburgh, great location. - It was a lovely clean and cosy lodge in a nice location, next to the beach and a short walk to Thorpness. There was nothing not to like about this property.
- Linda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Georgia (9/5): Superb -
- Adam (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (10/5): Beautiful and homely - Lovely homely feel Had to walk on the road part of the way to the boating lake
- Megan (8/5): Very good -
- Kim (8/5): Idillic location, cosy and warm. - 2 minute walk to beach. Snuggle up in front of log burner. Super clean. Parking. Had to rearrange sofa, table and chairs - to allow snuggle up in front of fire and breakfast. but that was no big hardship
- Neil (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amanda (10/5): Exceptional - Everything, cosy, comfortable and nothing lacking. Very high standard. Loved the coffee machine, amazing shower and the Christmas tree. A little tricky leaving the track to get onto main road. Could do with a mirror on the hedge for safety
- Kim (9/5): Superb -
- Caroline (10/5): Fantastic Cottage perfect for a couple wish we were staying longer. Staff incredibly helpful would stay again - Beautifully decorated great location comfortable and exactly what we needed Nothing
- Anonymous (9/5): Perfectly relaxed few days away. - Love the Airbnb, just perfect for all the places we visited. Very comfortable. Loved the bifold doors in bedroom. Just perfect. Could do with a non slip mat in shower for us oldies. Also hedge on road needs a bit of a trim. Dangerous exit, nearly got hit.
- Rebecca (9/5): A peaceful, modern getaway for two. Would highly recommend! - It was a lovely new and clean, well designed property with great finishings. In walking distance to the beach and little village of Thorpeness with a couple of great cafes and a lovely welcoming pub with great food. walking distance (45 mins) to Aldeburgh. Free parking. Wasn’t really a local shop, so be sure to arrive with milk, bread etc.
