The views of the sunset from the balconies was awesome. The bed was not that comfortable and the air conditioner did not seem to be able to keep up.

• Elena (9/5): Great value and a relaxing place to stay - Everything was great. The room was nice and of a good size, the Aircon worked well but there was also a wall fan, and quite a lot of air from the balcony. Water and coffee were provided downstairs in the common area. There is a pool although I didn't have a chance to use it! More than anything, the staff were all lovely and very helpful, we had nice chats and they gave advice on activities etc. The location is quite nice and very quiet, and thanks to being on a hill always a bit windy, which helps with the heat. Would absolutely recommend this place! Only flaw really was being on top of a hill, which wnen sunny and warm is a bit of a tough walk! But completely doable. Also to be aware, after about 9pm the reception closed so water wasn't accessible, though when I messaged Sonia she was able to come by straight away to let me fill my bottles.

Heerlijk zwembad om even in te dobberen na een warme dag. Bushalte ligt in de hoek. (Ik heb de ATM tour gedaan met Jam Jam tours, zeker een aanrader. Kleine organisatie met een fantastische gids!) • Dawn (8/5): - A Welcoming and friendly Guesthouse, owners always available to assist yet discreet., helpful and also offer a laundry facility if required. The pool and outdoor seating area is lovely and relaxing. I appreciate the filter coffee to greet you 1st thing each morning and kitchen facilities if required. Secure entry is a bonus also. Cahal/ Cahel Pech is very close by, minutes away and worth visiting - a little gem of a place.... No dislikes - my second visit, so I like it here. It is at the top of the hill, just above the centre of San Ignacio, also there are steps leading to the bedroom accommodation, these are considerations and I do not mind at all personally.

• Steph (9/5): - Highly recommend staying here. The family that runs it is so lovely and helpful. The newly installed kitchen and pool really add to the property. Rooms are basic but clean and comfy with good AC and hot water. We booked the ATM tour with them for a good price. Short walk to local supermarket and grocers and about 15 mins to town but easy. Quite a lot of dogs outside barking at night so being ear plugs.

• Jorrit (10/5): Great pool, amazing hosts - The hosts were so nice, really friendly and helpful. We felt really welcome here. Also, the swimming pool and the garden around it is a nice place to hang out, get some shade from the sun.

The fire signs etc were very amateurish, a little more detail would elevate the property

• Emma (10/5): Lovely friendly family hotel who are really helpful and knowledgeable - The family staff here are so friendly, they could not do more to help. The swimming pool is lovely, the aircon was great and hot showers. They have great restaurant recommendations and can organise tours.
• Marina (10/5): Conviviale et fonctionnelle 🙏 - Premièrement, l'hospitalité et la gentillesse du personnel. Toujours le sourire et toujours près à nous aider en tant que touriste 😂 10/10. Une famille vraiment adorable. Nous avons tout aimé. La piscine sous 35 degrés était vraiment nécessaire, il n'y avait pas trop de monde, ou peut-être on a eu de la chance mais pendant 2 jours on était tranquille ! La petite cuisine est supeeeeer fonctionnelle, tout équipé, parfait pour cuisiner sois même. Il a aussi déjà des condiments de base (épices, huiles, café, thé...) et un grand frigo à votre disposition. Les chambres étaient propres ainsi que la salle de bain, clim, tvb Het eau chaude!! 👌🏽 Enfin voilà, on a adoré ! Le seul petit truc à redire malheureusement c'est les chiens qui aboyent la nuit ... Si vous êtes aussi sensible au bruit ainsi que sensible au bien être animal c'est vrai que cela rend un peu triste ... Mais c'est ainsi ! Mais avec seulement des boules quies, les nuits étaient très bien !

The staff are lovely people, very friendly and always willing to help. Highly recommended. The only thing that stopped me giving this great place a 10 was the neighbours dog who would bark for a solid hour in the middle of the night.

Short walk into town (15 mins) Lack of choice of nearby restaurants, we didn't like the one on the roundabout, food wasn't nice.

She gave us lots of info about place to eat, to visit, how to use the bus etc. She also let us using the swimming pool anytime we wanted with no restriction. I also really like the terrace and the hammock on the terrace. The location is slightly downtown but you can walk down very quick and take the bus for few BZD. The bus stops very close. Nice bakery on walking distance and the chocolate factory. none

• Greg (10/5): A fantastic stay in a lovely guesthouse - the best staff! - A fantastic stay - the staff are extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful and were a real highlight of our stay. The room is spacious with plentiful amenities and a very comfortable bed. We didn’t even use the pool due to our sunburn - but it looked extremely inviting! Nothing - for those who have mobility issues it is truly ‘hilltop’ from the town centre, so is a 10 min walk uphill if going down there.

From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel completely at home—super friendly, helpful, and always smiling. The room was clean, cozy, and just what we needed for a quick escape with my wife. What really made the stay special was the pool—perfect for cooling off in the Cayo heat. We even took advantage of the grill on-site to cook up some meat while enjoying the views and a laid-back vibe. It felt like our own little hilltop hideaway. The location is ideal too—just a short drive from the Cahal Pech Maya Site and close to all the essentials like stores and restaurants. If you’re looking for an authentic, easygoing place to stay in San Ignacio, we highly recommend Hilltop Horizon. It’s a great spot to unwind, explore, and feel right at home.

• Reyes (10/5): Home away from home - I love that the property is close to the highway. It made it easier to get off the bus and walk there. There is also a nice refreshing pool that is perfect for days with heat like this. Rooms are super clean and fresh linen. The Staff was amazing and made me feel at home. At the end of the day you can see the sunset from the top floor.
• Seymour (9/5): Superb - Amazing host, great pool to relax in after hot days in San Ignacio. Clean comfortable private room with AC. They even organized shuttle pickups for atm caves and to go to Guatemala. Great stay! Only downside is that it’s at the top of the hill (obviously). Be prepared to sweat walking back home. There are many restaurants and supermarkets nearby though so no need to go down if you don’t want.

The owners are amazing people who help you make the most of your stay with great recommendations and their warm personalities. The rooms are well appointed and maintained and the pool is lovely after a day of exploring in the heat. Highly recommend staying here as your base for exploring the beautiful area around San Ignacio.
• Nancy (10/5): Stay at 'the dog Momma's' place! - "The Dog Momma" as she is known because of her group that helps lady street doggies also REALLY helped me out during my stay halfway up the hill in San Ignacio. She personally took me to three places to try to get cash out or cash back because I was having difficulty with the pin on my VISA cards! This was service above and beyond!

• Amanda (9/5): A nice and comfortable stay, with really kind staff! - Due to a strike and border closure my sister and I had to find an accommodation last minute in San Ignacio and were so glad to come across this hotel. The price was very fair, there was a lovely pool outside and the staff were really kind and helpful with restaurant recommendations and letting us store our luggage. We would happily stay there again next time we are in Belize.

Outside have minimal shade, the food around the area that I go was not nice, Netflix was not connected so we could have only watched youtube

• Charlotte (10/5): A great place to stay in San Ignacio - The room was clean and comfortable with lots of space (including a lockbox, desk and somewhere to hang your clothes). The shower was hot which was a luxury! The location is about 10 min walk to the centre of town (it’s at the top of a fairly steep hill) and there are a few restaurants nearby. Sonia who runs the guesthouse was SO kind - she was really flexible when I was delayed arriving due to illness and was always on hand to answer any questions/help organise trips/transport. Would definitely recommend. Nothing

• Mark (9/5): Loved it and would certainly stay again for a good price and central location within San Ignacio. - The accommodations were pretty central in the town so it was easy to walk everywhere we wanted to go. Accommodations met all expectations regarding price, friendliness, privacy, comfort, and we certainly enjoyed the pool. The staff was lovely. It is in the city so there were some barking dogs at night and there was a concert one night we were there down in the central part of town which we could hear. I assume this is an issue with any hotel/guest house within the town so nothing to put on the management but something to know when you stay. If you want complete silence and isolation this isn't your spot.

The room was large and everything worked, aircon was helpful because it was hot! The shared kitchen was small and in the reception area so not easy to use but at least it does have one if you want to self cater.

• Grodolf (10/5): Exceptional - We really enjoyed the owners of the property. Everyone there was super friendly and gave us good tips on things to do and things to see. They always said hi when we left and again hi when we got back. We really felt at home here. The room was spacious, clean and quiet. We liked that we also could sit outside on the balcony area, or go down to the pool area. It's a walk down to the city center, but honestly, the restaurants around this hotel, is far better anyway. We traveled with our pet and the owners helped us get in touch with a vet to get a health certificate to continue to Guatemala. They also helped us to get a shared mini bus to Flores in Guatemala that had no problems waiting for us at the border while we got all papers stamped for our dog. A mini fridge in the room would be nice, but they let us use their large fridge/freezer so it was not a problem.

The private shower with hot water, the AC and the wifi working great, ... everything was perfect ! Sonia accommodated my needs and answered all my questions prior to arriving. • Christian (10/5): Warm hosts, great location, great value. - Great personable staff that ensures your comfort at every opportunity. The location still feels close to the downtown area without actually being caught up in the hustle and bustle. Overall this is a great value. If you want an all-inclusive resort go find something else that’ll cost 7 times as much, but if you want a good, clean, and safe place to crash after a long day of touring this is your place.
