Guest Reviews
- J (10/5): Wonderful stay in Maraig - The property was beautiful and Michele was so friendly, helpful, and had amazing recommendations. Everything was beautifully decorated and there was so much space for eight people. I would love to come back
- A (10/5): Exceptional holiday home in a stunning location - Our stay was nothing short of perfect. The house is situated in a privileged position, offering tranquil views across a bay.
The house was exceptionally clean, comfortable throughout and spacious, giving us plenty of room to relax. The kitchen was excellently equipped with everything we could need for self-catering; bedding was of high quality, we got plenty of good sleep.
A number of beautiful hikes can be done right from the house; after a day’s hiking you can relax by the fire.
We’d love to return, thanks for making us so comfortable!

- steve (10/5): - Superb place to stay. Everything you could want. Just a shame we couldn’t stay for longer but will be back soon. Highly recommended and an ideal base to explore all of Harris and Lewis.
- darren (10/5): Fantastic place - Beautiful house in a delightfully picturesque & quiet area. Has all the facilities you could need. Host is extremely responsive. Would definitely return.
- Gillian (8/5): Lovely well-equipped house. If we were in the area again we wouldn’t hesitate to come back. - The house is spacious and well equipped. Super comfortable bed and lovely bed linen. Huge en-suite bathroom with a fab shower. Michelle was exceptionally attentive and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. We had some issues with the coal fire not drawing properly and blowing smoke back into the room but, to be fair, we were there during Storm Amy and Michelle did her best to put it right!
- Alexander (8/5): A very enjoyable stay in a very spacious property which was ideal for our group. - Lovely setting and very spacious. A little dated and would have been nice to have some coffee/tea/milk for arriving.

- Anne (10/5): Totally wondeful place to stay, great location - The house is much larger than we had expected and in extremely good condition. Everything we needed was there and the breakfast/dinner room was such a wonderful place to just sit and stare out at the view of the Loch. The basement was very useful as well equiped with laundry facilities plus a table tennis table - very popular ! If ever the owner was not around there was a lovely neighbour to look after any queries you will be very well looked after if you stay here - wish we could have stayed longer Just the steep stairs to the upper bedrooms but this was not a problem for us as the younger ones stayed up there and we had the 2 lovely big double rooms on the ground floor. Wish the french windows in one of the ground floor bedrooms could be opened but there must be a H&S issue perhaps. It did take us a little time to find the property even though the post code was accurate and the sat nav took us there it was at first not trusted as the road when it leaves the main road to Tarbert is very narrow and steep perhaps some exlanation/ directions realting to this could be added to the site to re-assure new visitor that this is the road to take
- Mairi (8/5): A beautiful location and ideal for families or groups. - The property is in a beautiful location and Michelle was an attentive host. The property is also well located for drives to the both the towns of Harris and Stornoway and also for many of the beautiful beaches like Luskentyre as well as stunning Hills and the Golden Road. The house is a very good size with multiple rooms and bathrooms and would suit both families and groups. There are good on sight facilities for those inevitable rainy days including good tv packages and wifi access and even a table tennis table in the garage basement.
- Sarah (10/5): An outstanding house in an outstanding location made for relaxing. - Everything!! A timeless classic. Supremely comfortable beds and luxury bed linen. Really lovely fluffy towels. Great bathrooms, superb views. A totally comfortable home from home that gave us a warm fuzzy feeling. Nothing. We loved everything.
- Edith (10/5): The house was very well equipped with everything we needed. Michele was an excellent host. The views spectacular from ev - Everything was lovely in this property. The views were exceptional.
- Catherine (9/5): Superb - Large house. Everything you need. Good location. Comfortable. Was quite dated decor.
Stairs upstairs are quite dangerous.
- Kimmie (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful view to have dinner or a morning coffee in the sun
Peace and quiet and sheep to watch
The house is bigger than it seems in the photos, although we were with only 2, it did not feel too big, because it is decorated very nicely.
- Pamela (8/5): A wonderful, spacious place to relax - Lots of bathrooms. Lots of space generally. Very steep stairs up to two of the bedrooms
- Donald (10/5): had a great few days in tigh chailein . - The house was great very spacious, and comfortable, sat in the conservatory a lot enjoying the peace and quiet and the lovely view
- Minh (10/5): Absolutely fantastic - would highly recommend it!!! - Great location, spacious and had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay n/a
- Lisa (10/5): Fantastic - Amazing location with enviable views directly from the House. The House is far larger than the photos suggest and the host Michelle goes out of her way to make the stay memorable. Highly recommend- except on the dates I want to return! Access to upstairs rooms would be challenging for less able people.
- Joanne (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful house, spotlessly clean and very well equipped. A lovely, secluded spot overlooking the Loch.
- Maralyn (10/5): The house was spacious, very comfortable, and beautifully located. - No breaakfast.
The location was magnificent. The toilets did not flush well.
- Andrew (9/5): Great house great location - Great location, super views, the house is great. So all really very good. Not much. We needed to use the wood fire if we were in during the day.
- Corinne (10/5): Exceptional - We loved the house and the space and spent a lot of time together in the beautiful sun room. Fantastic location. Great host who really cared. Nothing.
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
