• Rudd (8/5): Very good - We stayed at the Shepherds hut for my husbands 40th birthday and also our 10year anniversary. I did inform the hosts of this beforehand, thinking maybe a banner or something may have been put up, but it wasn't, which is fine. We received a very detailed email on how to check in, things to do, and eat around the area, which was lovely. We arrived later on the evening and were welcomed to a lovely clean apartment, and the bedding smelt amazing. There were a few things that spoilt the trip for us but nothing major as such: The stairs do not have carpets or treads on them, so they are a little slippery when walking up and down them, especially in socks. The quilt on the super king-size bed (2 singles pushed together with a gap in the mattresses) was only a double, so it wasn't really big enough for the bed. The shared hot tub (not realising you would be sharing with guests in the apartment next door) we thought it was shared with the house. Was a little awkward when waiting for the other guests to get out. I would have been very disappointed if I had paid for the hot tub and someone else was using it. The apartments also aren't soundproof, as stated, and you can hear the other people in the apartment next door. We messaged the host in the morning to see if there was a hair dryer in the apartment but had no reply, so we made do without. We did get a message of apology on the evening after we had checked out. Overall, our stay was pleasant, short and sweet. We would stay again but would be aware of the points above.
• Timothy (10/5): Really good ideal for self catering great for short break. - Very compact everything we needed was there. Really minor some where to dry towels a heated rail would have been welcome and a small shower tray to put items on in shower rather than shower floor.
• Heidi (9/5): Calm, quiet and relaxing - will definitely be returning!! - Relaxing, quiet, clean and comfortable, friendly owners, little personal touches such as hand soap/shower gel in the shower room, washing up liquid, cloth and tea towel that was provided. Low wooden banister from stairs in kitchen near external door - bumped head! Stairs felt quite slippery without shoes on (left shoes near door downstairs) could maybe do with a little anti-slip strip on them.
• Craig (10/5): Exceptional - The cabin was spotless. Had everything we could want, the owners are amazing and helpful. Having the hot tube was a bonus, nice little feature with the outdoor shower. Nice soft bed, our stay was short but sweet. We'd definitely stay again.
• Richard (9/5): Fantastic little hideaway in a great location. Couldn’t have asked for more from the hosts. - Lovely remote location but still only a short drive to everything you need. Hosts were fantastic and checked we had everything we needed. The two horses were perfect neighbours on the site! The property was perfect for the stay and really cosy. Fantastic retreat for a weekend. We were slightly unfortunate that the neighbours staying for the weekend in the second property next door were on the noisy side and we didn’t realise the hot tub was shared until near arrival, but these were really only minor things compared to all the positives.

And the hosts were amazing!!! Gave us a text with all the relevant information. When asked about great places to eat and dine, the host sent us a brilliant list of places. One of which we tried and was amazing! Only a 15 minute drive to the city centre made it perfect for us to get to where we needed to be! Everything was perfect!
