Guest Reviews
- Marcus (9/5): A little rural gem - Ongerup is a quiet little rural township, which you possibly would not visit unless you had a relative or friend there, or passing through. The hotel staffer was very friendly, showing us to our room and providing us with all the information we needed. Our room was compact yet comfortable, with a very nice bathroom and a bonus breakfast facilities (cereals, and milk) which was a nice touch. Very clean and comfy beds too. We would certainly stay here again. We had difficulty getting the room to be completely dark, as light was filtering in from the outside.
- Denise (10/5): Good value gem in a small town. - Situated central to exploring the area. A good sized room with table for meals. Very clean with large shower. Comfortable beds with high quality linen. Nothing. Only looked basic from outside but great inside.
- Michael (8/5): A great outback experience - The Ongerup Hotel provided a real outback Australian experience - which we really appreciated. The locals at the hotel - were most welcoming. Particularly Hayley (the housekeeper) told us about the history of the hotel and the local area. It is great to see a small community come together to ensure the hotel and local services survive. Although the amenties are relatively basic, our room was clean, hot water was plentify, the bedding was great and the addition of tea, coffee, and cereals in the room was appreciated. The meal at the hotel was also very pleasant.
- Gaël (9/5): - Bon court séjour d'une nuit durant un road trip, petit déjeuner non prévu et appréciable RAS
- Malcolm (7/5): Nice and quiet once I had settled in my room. - Left early to get to next destination Weather was very wet due to tail end of cyclone.
- Huw (10/5): -
- Sam (10/5): It's nice to know a group of farmers have invested into the hotel and their community. Well done! -

- Sam (10/5): Will stay again - Lucky to have Nothing
- Catherine (8/5): All good - We just used it for one night to break up a long drive and it was adequate. The town didn’t have much to offer, but it didn’t matter
- Vicki (7/5): The accomodation is old but the rooms were very clean with new linen carpet and bedding. - Very clean and tidy
- peter (8/5): - Good friendly staff clean room and great food

- Eilam (10/5): -
- Angela (10/5): Great overnight accomodation. - Rooms were clean, beds comfortable and water hot. Very generous meal portions (especially if you are a shearer or do hard physical work) otherwise order one and share it. Nothing
- Mills (10/5): Totally surprised in a good way. - Super clean, comfy bed, good water pressure in the shower, very quiet.
Exceptional and a total bargain at the price! Can recommend to anyone looking to stay and explore the region like Bluff Knoll, Stirling Ranges, Wave Rock, Bremer Bay, or the many Canola Fields.
Don’t let the look of the place fool you - this place is a gem. Really nothing.
- Allan (9/5): -
- Greg (9/5): Clean comfortable and welcoming - Very clean and comfortable. Bedding was great. Breakfast supplies provided in the room. Dinner meals at the hotel were very tasty. Staff were friendly and provided a nice homey atmosphere. Accommodation was not glamorous but very functional. Nothing
- Dylan (8/5): Ideal place to stay the night before completing Bluff Knoll - Location was ideal for me- close enough to drive from there to Bluff Knoll (the purpose of my trip).
The staff were really nice and a seamless check-in process.
Great facilities. Bar and restaurant was great.
- PalRos (8/5): Great value in Ongerup - Spacious room with queen and single bed was good value for two people.
Room and ensuite were clean and tidy and very comfortable.
Communication from the hotel was excellent.
- Stephen (9/5): A perfect oasis in the middle of nowhere, highly recommend this for value, cleanliness, happy staff, -
- Daniel (6/5): - The food was great—classic pub meals done really well. 10/10 The water system isn’t working properly. You have to leave the shower running for at least 10 minutes before any hot water starts coming through.
- Arno (9/5): -
- Sarah (10/5): - Hotel reception had accessible opening hours for later check in. The meal at the hotel was more than we expected as we were eating vegan during our trip and they offered their vegetarian options to sub with vegan cheese. If you stay here I recommend the vegetation pizza with vegan cheese! Cosy, sweet and simply worth stopping at!
- Carlene (10/5): -
- Nichole (10/5): Wonderful great memories ♥️ - The motel unit outside was very clean the bed was amazing there plenty of coffee sashay, tea sachets sugar etc.
The shower was very clean & the water hot.. the towels were soft & even had beautiful face washers 🙌🏻. Inside the pub was your typical country welcoming very warm ♥️ hospitality 10 out of 10! Thank you Ongerup 😊 Nice & close to where we had to be plus the pub brang back lots of happy memories for my partner who was once many years ago the barman! At the Ongerup Pub 😂
- Bowden (3/5): Poor -
- Stephen (6/5): Pleasant -
- Glen (10/5): Perfect stay for business or pleasure - I love staying here, the welcome is always friendly, the food is great and the beer is cold. The beds are comfortable and the rooms have reverse cycle aircon.
- Jonathan (3/5): Really average - Not much... shower was good. No wifi even though it's stated there is... you have to go to the pub to get wifi signal.
Back of pub is like a child minding area with kids screaming their heads off till about 8.30pm with one 10 year old boy teaching me some new swear words.
I was questioned by who I found out to be the manager while I sat at the front of the pub as to what I was doing and was implied that should not be lurking about even though I was a guest...
- Susan (8/5): easy, staff helpful, we would return - clean and tidy - value for money and met expectations of country budget accommodation nothing
- Ruth (6/5): Pleasant -
- Jye (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marisa (6/5): Great for a quick overnighter only! - Able to access after hours, bed was comfy, small kitchenette room was handy There was no aircon or fan and the windows didn’t open!
- Andrew (7/5): Over all we enjoy our stay. - The food at the hotel was very good and very generous. A nice atmosphere. The room could have been a little cleaner, a bit dusty in parts. The carpet need to be vacuumed.
- Janet (6/5): Pleasant -
- Van (8/5): Very good - Really clean, food in the pub was great
- Horn (10/5): Exceptional - It was super clean and very fresh , the bed was super comfy and the showers were nice and hot , we had access to a mini kitchen which was also handy
- Golian (10/5): Exceptional - Very friendly and helpful staff.
Thank you.
- Susan (5/5): It was ok, nothing special. - I liked the idea of the hotel and that the community had gotten together to save it. The pub was closed on Mondays which was the day of my arrival. The water didn’t work, the tv didn’t work, and the poor bookkeeper had to try to figure things out. The room needs a deep clean. I had hoped to meet some local folks but the few who were in the pub on Tuesday had no interest in meeting strangers. Overall, not my best or worst experience to date.
- David (10/5): Exceptional - This place was a totally surprise. We booked it because we couldn't find something better close to bremer bay. The place was good and they were very nice. They warned us that everything was going to be closed around there and they gave us complimentary food for two people and two days, totally for free. It was a pleasure to be there. We loved it. Everything was good.
- Gadkar (7/5): Good -
- Isabela (10/5): Exceptional - What a place to visit. We are in love with Ongerup.
