Guest Reviews
- Heather (5/5): It was fine for a couple of days and excellent for us and the dog for walking as there was literally miles of fields to - The upstairs and garden was lovely but the living room did not look like this photo?! It was very dark with mismatched lighting and furniture and the sofa and chair was not very comfortable to sit on. There was lots of half burnt out candles and fairy lights that made it feel more like a student flat than an adult holiday home. The living room! Also, there wasn’t even a pint of milk in the fridge for a cuppa when we arrived after a long drive, whatever happened to little welcome packs and extra touches, it seems like standards have definitely dropped in the last couple of years, unlike the prices!
- Gi (9/5): Superb - Really lovely stay near Cirencester, with nice walks nearby on the Bathurst Estate. Hosts were really generous with dog friendly amenities, providing dog towels, dog wipes and dog treats, and also replied to really quickly when we had an issue with the boiler.
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tracey (9/5): Everything we needed, peaceful location and very comfortable - So cosy and comfortable, great facilities Nothing!
- Bkchow (9/5): Superb - Cottage feels like it has been recently renovated, is clean and tidy. It is small and cosy, and ok for 3 adults and a dog for 2 nights. The kitchen is well stocked, with tea, coffee, biscuits, plus many cooking utensils and a few basic ingredients (oil, vinegar, salt, pepper) if you wanted to cook. There is also an apple tree, which we did pick a few apples from to takeaway. The 2 double beds are comfy and warm, heating system is on demand, which we did need to turn on for a few hours at the end of September. It heats up very quickly. We spent the evenings in the living room on the sofa, watching Netflix - the wifi is good (but we did experience an outage overnight, probably due to the heavy rains, but we managed using 4G from our phones).
Communication with the host, Gabi, over whatsapp was very easy, and was quick to respond. Instructions were easy to understand, and the notes for things to do, places to see and eat was accurate.
Location wise, it is very easy to get to the other towns and villages around Cotswold. There are a few pubs and restaurants in Cirencester - if going over a weekend, you should book the restaurants to prevent disappointment. Sam and Jaks cafe is highly recommended. There is 1 parking space and it is against the wall of the building. You just need to be mindful that the local residents also park along that wall so keep to the designated space. The foot path can get slippery as it had been quite wet during the visit.
