Guest Reviews
- Marc (10/5): Alles super - sehr empfehlenswert!
- Andrew (9/5): Magnificent old house with great views and great hosts. - Location was pretty good, only 10 mins walk to the town centre. Coffee machine didn’t work although the host made coffee for me on his machine onone of the three mornings we were there.
- Parrott (9/5): We really enjoyed our stay at Lynwood House and thank you, Yvonne for all your assistance. - We were located about a 10 min easy walk to downtown along the waterfront. We loved our room with the 4 poster bed! Yvonne welcomed us when we arrived, such a bright, happy person with lots of recommendations. And insisted in helping carry luggage up 3 flights of stairs! Loved meeting Junior the dog, felt very "homey" Nothing can be done about it but the car entrance is very narrow.
- Kylie (10/5): -
- Karen (10/5): - Great location. Very comfortable.
- Lois (9/5): - Hostess is a lovely lady, very friendly. Beautiful old house is being elegantly redone. Great location near the harbor. Breakfast did not come on time. We needed to continue our travel, so we packed out and found a restaurant for breakfast.
- Sandra (9/5): -
- Sabine (10/5): -
- Finbarr (9/5): Short but very comfortable stay, fantastic views, great lovation. Loved the dog also ;-) - Breakfast was minimal - yoghurt with soggy mules
- Lara (10/5): Simply Stunning - Absolutely lovely room, owners were incredibly helpful, best shower in Ireland.
Wonderful location, easy walk into town.
Would definitely recommend. Nothing at all.
- Justine (9/5): Large comfortable lodging - Large, very clean room. Friendly and helpful owner We didn’t care for the morning coffee from the machine in our room (and there was no milk/creamer). Real brewed coffee would have been better.
- Jodi (8/5): - The location was excellent. The owners were flexible with timings and helped with a booking error. This was incredibly considerate of them and they went out of their way to help. Room was comfortable, bed and shower were great. Walking distance to town, and right on the water. It was just what I needed. -
- Robyn (7/5): - The room was lovely. Nice lounges in the room. Nice shower, nice shampoo, there were face cloths in the bathroom, nice breakfast.
Good WiFi There was tea and coffee facilities but no milk.
The tv remote control was missing.
The stairway was difficult with our cases.
- Tiffany (10/5): Perfect spot for a relaxing coastal weekend away! - We had a lovely stay here and would definitely recommend it. The host was very friendly and welcoming, and gave us great recommendations. The homemade breakfast in the morning was delicious and a real highlight.
The house is beautiful, and we were lucky to be upgraded to a sea view room, which made our stay even more special. The location is perfect - walking distance to shops and restaurants, and it felt very safe and peaceful. Nothing - everything was perfect!
- Adam (10/5): Fantastic service and accommodation - Myself and my wife spent Our wedding night in the Lynnwood house and our room had the nicest view of the bay, the staff were very friendly and accommodating.

- JoAnn (10/5): I'm so grateful for my time at Lynwood House--the warm welcome, beautiful room, gorgeous view. Joy! - Finn and Peter made me feel so at home from the moment I stepped into their gorgeous Victorian. My room was large, yet so cozy. And the view of the harbor from my window was stunning. Cobh is a lovely, walkable, scenic, and historic town, with Lynwood a perfect guesthouse, just a few steps from its center. Not a thing!

- Ayas (9/5): -
- Kimberly (8/5): Enjoyable B&B experience - We enjoyed staying in this family hosted B&B. They are gracious and friendly and we very much enjoyed talking with them and others staying there. It's a bit of a walk into town but very easy. Driving into and around town is not so easy! Loved the wine bar in town and met some wonderful women who grew up there and shared a lot about their town. Great breakfast made to order and based on your preferences. This is a new B&B and getting off the ground in many ways. Furnishings and amenities are quite basic and a little rough still.
- Paul (8/5): -
- Amy (10/5): - Absolutely everything. From the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out. Would love to come here again one day! Peter was an amazing host. Location was also 10/10 - short walk into town. Nothing!
- Giulio (7/5): - La sensazione di stare a casa
- Amy (10/5): Finnuala and Peter were so welcoming from start to finish, we had our daughter with us and they were - Finnuala and Peter were so welcoming from start to finish, we had our daughter with us and they were so accommodating for milk, food and travel cot for her. The place was outstanding and so family orientated and cosy! We would definitely stay again.
- Pete (10/5): -
- Nel Lisa (10/5): Amazing place and hospitality!! - Love the room it was great size and in a quiet part of town but still close to everything. The family was amazing and made an exceptional breakfast. The house was very unique and has tons of character which I loved.
- Bruno (10/5): -
- David (5/5): Very disappointing after reading previous reviews and certainly not value for money. - View from the bedroom. Bedroom furniture and soft furnishings, nothing matched at all. No kettle in room but loads tea bags for use on a coffee Tassimo machine, no milk pods, no litter bin, TV signal and channels extremely bad. Crack on large mirror. Lounge and dining room untidy. Breakfast on day 2 not good, wasn’t asked what we wanted just assumed we wanted full Irish!!! (Which we didn’t - he wasn’t happy)No orange juice. Breakfast on day 1 very good, warm home baked breads and local cheeses - leftovers served Monday too but cheeses has been left out overnight uncovered!! Parking not good and driveway needed shrubs cutting back.front door very difficult to unlock.
- Angela (9/5): We had a lovely stay and felt very at home - Beautiful house, tasteful, shabby chic which is just my style
Lovely Irish breakfast which when they knew it was my birthday was gifted! Together with a gladioli flower from their garden Nothing
- O'Neill (10/5): Luxury meets a truly special experience - Fabulous visit to Lynwood house. Finnuala and Peter are brilliant hosts, along with their little helper Margot :-) Had a lovely stay in this 200 year old house with modern luxury and the most delicious, freshly baked, warm brown bread to enjoy while waiting for your hot breakfast. Luxury meets a truly special experience that I can highly recommend. There is nothing to dislike!
- Jody (10/5): We had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay with all the amenities me needed. - The host and hostess were superb. They made us feel right at home. Breakfast was home-cooked and amazing. We were just a short walk to town and the train station to Cork. Parking was a bit challenging, but there is really nothing you can do about that. It's like that everywhere in Ireland.
- jodene (10/5): Beautiful family beautiful place great breakfast - This was a beautiful home with a lovely family Nothing
- Jean (8/5): - The owners made us feel very welcome. Our stay was a lovely experience. We came home after a wet night out to a lovely fire burning in the guest room. So thoughtful. Thank you.
- Marty (4/5): - Location
- Tuija (9/5): Ihana talo ja hyvä sijainti. - Sijainti oli loistava.lyhyt kävelymatka juna-asemalle,mistä näppärästi pääsi Corkin keskustaan. Auton sai parkkiin pihaan. Roskakori puuttui huoneen puolelta kokonaan.
- Bill and Sharon (9/5): The owners and staff were very accomodating and friendly which made us feel right at home. - Lynwood House was a real experience. We were in a lovely room that overlooked Atlantic Ocean with a big stuffed, bit uncomfortable chesterfield to sit in facing the outdoors. The room had a real character about it with mixed older antiques and a big bed situated in the middle. The bathroom had one of the nicest showers we have found so far in our travels. We chose to have the Breakfast was prepared to order and was served in the most impressively designed bright dining room. Fresh flowers were scattered throughout the areas. We loved that we were sat with other guests so that we could have a chat. One hiccup was that when we went to settle down for the evening we did not have a converter for our TV. We both went about trying to find the owners to no avail. That put a damper on our evening, the owner figured that her children had walked off with it. Otherwise we enjoyed the big old Victorian styled home. We did find this to be more overpriced than some other places we had stayed.
- Barbara (10/5): When we come back to Ireland we definitely stay here again and if this your first trip, we highly recommend you make thi - The location was absolutely perfect! Super quiet yet only about a 10 minute walk to the heart of Cobh. Our hosts were very charming and gracious and they made us feel like their home was our home. Our room and private bath were perfectly clean and the bed was more than comfortable. The true Irish breakfast was a feast and yogurt, cereal and juice were also available. Our hosts and their staff shared stories and smiles throughout our visit. The house is lovely and the off-street parking was a bonus. This was the perfect first-stop on a three trip throughout the Wild Atlantic Way and beyond. There was nothing to dislike. It was a true Irish home.
- Craig (10/5): Great place to stay while in Cobh! - We had a fantastic breakfast and met some great people. Peter is a fantastic host and made sure our stay was excellent. The rooms were great and the beds were very comfortable. Definitely think this was one of the better places we stayed at while on vacation. NOTHING.
- William (9/5): -
- Bayda (8/5): Lovely historical home. Beautiful service. - Loved the property but 4 flights of stairs was a little too much for older person. I should have requested lower floor when there was no elevator.
Otherwise it was a beautiful place with friendly owner on site. Lots of stairs too climb to upper floor.lovely
- Vaughan (10/5): Beautiful room, and Peter and family was great. - Location and staff was wonderful Nothing. It was great
- Mariah (7/5): Beautiful room - The room was lovely. It was really pricey for what you get. The room was stunning but did not include anything. Also the images showed a nice deck with a hottub which was in the yard but not really set up for people to use. The yard was a Little unkept. The owner was really nice. It was a lovely place just a little expensive.
- Kevin (10/5): -
- Robert (10/5): Very nice hosts, good location to go see Cobh downtown (short walk), and the breakfast is good. - The host was very friendly and accommodating. Was able to locate the property with no issues. It was walking distance from the property to the downtown area. We had an item that needed to be refrigerated and they put it in their refrigerator without a problem. The property did have a hot tube and a sauna but we did not have time to enjoy those. We had a car and went from the property out site seeing, it was a good location to see Cobh and to go out the area too. There is a train close by so that was an option too. In our room, there were no hooks in the bathroom to hang up towels or clothes. We are from the US and are use to certain amenities. Also, we should have asked for a fan in our room. We did leave the window open but it would have been nice to have the fan to move the air around the room at night.
- Michel (9/5): To be repeated! - Great reception. Very chill and hospitable. Good bed and very nice location.
- Cecilia (10/5): - Great place to stay, friendly owners. Great irish breakfast. Car parking available on-site. Easy walk 10min walk into central Cobh along water front. Thank you
- Jeremy (9/5): A most pleasant B&B experience in Cobh - Beautiful historic house with a view, great location a few minutes walk to the pubs, shops, and restaurants, friendly staff, comfortable room, and a delicious breakfast to top it off. Everything about the experience here was pleasant.
- JAMES (10/5): Absolutely wonderful - It was a wonderful older home with very comfortable beds. Nice rooms, excellent breakfast and wonderful hospitality. Couldn’t ask for a nicer innkeeper and staff. Highly recommend. Loved our stay.
- William (7/5): Great place to stay to explore Cobh and Cork. - The house is in an ideal location, a short walk from the station where you can catch a train to Cork every 30 mins. Its a lovely walk to by the water. Which takes you into town too, excellent Titanic museum. The parking is private and off road, didn't need to use the car during our stay. Our bed was the most comfortable that I slept in throughout Ireland for 2 weeks! Plenty of hot water, private and quiet, breakfast was good too. Finn, the landlady is a lovely person, a busy lady with 2 small children and other businesses to run so this handsome property is a family home. Not quite finished! Its an ongoing project - but then we are older, stuffier perfectionists!!!
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional - Brilliant stay in a brilliant city!

- Sheri (10/5): My favorite b&b of the stay. It was a beautiful, welcoming home. - Our host was lovely. I felt like part of the family. We delayed leaving just to spend more time speaking and getting to know each other. Everything was excellent!!!!!
- Rein (8/5): Very good -
- Amy (10/5): Exceptional - The views and the owners!
- Max (9/5): Superb -
- Dan (8/5): Very pleasant stay. - A restored older house with nice views of the Bay.
The host Peter was excellent, very friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. Full Irish Breakfast was great. 15 euros. It is a work in progress.
- Deirdre (10/5): Great stay and will recommend it to family and friends if they are in the area. - Great hosts and wonderful view of the bay from our room.
- Mercedes (9/5): Great place for overnight stay in Cobh - Very welcoming friendly host Peter
Very comfy beds
- Alex (9/5): Great place to stay - House overlooking the sea. It was being renovated and the finished rooms were high quality and tastefully done. Bathroom was good and the toilet paper decoration was special. Breakfast was good.
Our hosts were excellent Nothing
- Subodh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carlsen (5/5): Cobh is a nice little place - Nice bed £10 for coffee and a hard boild egg and bacon. Stupid
- Moira (10/5): Exceptional - We enjoyed the warm hospitality during our 2 night stay in this beautiful family home, my kind of homely atmosphere. Convenient 10min.walk into town with free on street parking. Quirky electrics in this period property meant some of our plugs didn't work but no big issue.
- Ciara (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adrian (10/5): We were very pleased to have discovered Lynwood House, so close to Town centre. - The location was excellent. A lovely walk into the town. Very pleasant. Breakfast was lovely. A delightful breakfast room. Bright and cheerful. Homemade bread and preserves and a very good coffee. Nothing. It was a very pleasant stay with delightful hosts.
- Robert (7/5): Lovely big comfortable bed and lovely area to walk around. The host was very helpful. - The host was friendly and very helpful and suggested places of interest and restaurants to go. Lovely seaside town within walking distance. The renovations were not complete
- Flynn (9/5): Bliss, friendly and cozy - Peter, the owner, was incredibly helpful and welcoming. The accommodation was very comfortable, spotlessly clean, and beautifully decorated.
We arrived to a warm and friendly welcome, and Peter personally showed us to our room. It had a king-size bed that was extremely comfortable, along with lovely decor and thoughtful touches throughout. The room was well-stocked with Irish books and helpful information about local restaurants and bars.
The B&B is just a 10-minute walk to town, making it a perfect location.
Overall, we absolutely loved our stay — Peter was kind, friendly, and very accommodating. The only small downside was that there were no shelves in the bathroom to place toiletries, which would have been helpful.
