Guest Reviews
- Mark (5/5): Could have been so much better - The house was clean. I had to ring to get the lock box code. The details should have been provided in advance. There were 2 bath towels for 3 of us. No hand towels in the toilet and no loo roll. We couldn't wash up as there was no washing up liquid, sponge or tea tea towel. The place was freezing when we arrived. I rang the host who explained how to turn on the boiler but it was a bit late - it warmed up by the middle of the night! We just went to bed to get warm. We couldn't even make a cup of tea. We'd taken milk but the tea bag pot in the kitchen was empty. Overall incredibly disappointed after a 5 hour journey we didn't need a lot - just to be warm and a little welcome. There was a TO LET sign outside and I suspect this will not be available on this platform much longer.

- Amy (10/5): I would stay here again but would be cautious about the parking - Nice, homely feel for me and my family The next door neighbour was a bit aggressive regarding the parking space at the rear of the property and came to the door accusing us of moving his cone.
- Stuart (7/5): Cute little house - Perfect for a night's stay. No non slip mat in the shower.
- Alex (8/5): Great location and communication from host - Great location close to Beamish and South Causey Inn. Local shop 5 mins walk away for essentials. Comfortable beds and ideal for the night
- Sheila (3/5): Disappointed - The location The property did not appear to have been properly cleaned after the previous guests. There were damp used towels in a bag in the main bedroom and only one clean large towel and two clean handtowels in the entire property. There were crumbs on the floor and sofa. The cold tap in the front bedroom was not working. As mentioned by other guests there are still several lights with no lamp shades. The cutlery was not clean.
- Claire (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sharon (6/5): Pleasant - The washing machine did not work.
Parking was very tight. The property needed a bit of TLC.
- David (8/5): Very good - Location There were a few maintenance issues, which hadn’t been addressed .( blinds, tap, washing machine)
Also some minor facilities missing ( lampshades, bedside lights, hand towels)
- Emmanuel (10/5): Exceptional - The check-in process was exceptionally smooth and efficient, making it a hassle-free experience from the start. The accommodations were impeccably clean, neat, and well-maintained, creating a welcoming atmosphere. Each room was generously sized, allowing for ample space to relax and unwind. Additionally, the facilities provided were top-notch, ensuring all our needs were met comfortably. Overall, I was thoroughly impressed and will definitely recommend this place to others looking for a delightful stay.
- Allan (1/5): Bad - Nothing Communication terrible and host unreliable. Received email on the morning of our arrival saying that our reservation had been cancelled. No support from host or Booking.com to help resolve the issue, provide any form of compensation, or even to refund the fee that had already been paid. We wasted hours trying to tesolve the situation which totally ruined the short break we had planned to help celebrate my wife's birthday.
- Abbie (9/5): Superb -
- James (9/5): Superb -
- Keysha (10/5): Home from home - Great location if you are visiting Beamish. Will definitely book again.
- Anne (3/5): Very uncomfortable bed - Clean and easy to find. Bed was the most uncomfortable I have slept in for many years. My partner got no sleep, I got very little.
- Samantha (9/5): Nice clean property easy to find and quiet. - Nice property good size for a family. I would have like to be able to hoover or sweep no broom or dustpan etc.
- Kerry (10/5): Definitely recommend - What a little gem, Photographs do not do it justice on here ! More lovely when seeing with own eyes ,
Group of 4 of us attending a wedding so stayed at the getaway haven. Ample room, very clean and comfortable ,clean towels ready for you. All mod cons in the property. I would drfibateky recommend ! Cannot fault the house or location, lovely and quiet
- Nita (8/5): Good value for overnight, near Beamush museum - Good for a nights stay Beds up to walls, need a few more essentials, dishcloth , small tables in lounge, hand towels. Book about area would have been good
- Alex (9/5): Nice - Well presented Mattress needs replacing ( sags to one side)
Not clear where to park
- Jeremy (9/5): Superb - Plenty of space, comfortable & quiet The skylight in the ensuite might benefit from an extension stick or similar - I was the only one in the group that could operate it.
- Jimbogtr (8/5): Nice little place, good for walking - Clean with modern decor. Nice big fridge and TVs in the room. Lots of parking. Cheap! Lots of space for hanging in the rooms was really good. Nothing
- Amanda (9/5): Great location - Great location for our visit and lots of space and home comforts
- Phillip (8/5): Fantastic, would stay again, - Nice and clean, plenty of space. A few small areas that needed attention.
- Denise (7/5): Nice home needs attention - Well presented conveniently situated for Beamish ,Durham ect.
Handy little shop up the road.
Comfortable home we did have a nice stay.
Just a shame who is looking after it was not doing so that day . No tea or hand towels. Brush and shovel to clean floors.
Damp on a lot of ceilings.
Communication to explain entry could have been better.
Crockery and cutlery needed cleaning before use also dirt on work tops and table on arrival.
- Elizabeth (4/5): Very disappointed, Luckily we were only staying 2 nights. - Initial impressions were good. Calling the property an apartment is doing it a disservice as it is a modern end terrace. The property was very attractive, clean and well equipped. Having 2 bathrooms and a separate downstairs toilet was a great advantage. Bare light bulbs. lack of towel in downstairs bathroom, 3 tv's but only 1 remote worked. washing machine and line but no pegs. Needs a mirror in front bedroom. Sleeps 5 but only 4 forks. toiletries means hand soap. Kitchen cupboards need re-wrapping as surfaces coming away. 2nd EVENING TRIED TO USE MICROWAVE AND IT FUSED ALL THE SOCKETS IN THE KITCHEN, next morning discovered NO GAS so with 2 children no showers, no breakfast, not even a hot drink, good job it was summer and didn't need heating on otherwise would have had to find a hotel. Parking too tight, neighbour not very nice.
- Joao (9/5): Recommend, good location - Exactly as described, good location and comfortable beds. Nothing to point out
- Stephen (7/5): just what we needed for an overnight stay near Durham - good location. spacious , parking , clean and modern everything was as advertised except there was no quilt cover or sheet for the sofa bed 🤷🏻♂️
- Graham (9/5): Superb - The house has everything that you need when working away from home .
- Sufal (7/5): Good -
- Revill (8/5): Beamish museum trip. - A modern well set out property, with everything you can need, two bedrooms two bathrooms and 3 toilets, perfect for a family or two couples, c/w everything you need. Only 12 minutes from Beamish museum so perfect for our stay. A bit of confusion getting in to the property ( key safe ) , had to switch everything on fridge hot water/ heating, luckily our daughter sorted it for us , but some would struggle, terrible mattress in back bedroom all over the place.
- Keith (8/5): Very good - Everything Nothing
- Bukky (9/5): Superb -
- Rana (7/5): It’s ok just for short stay - It was clean with good facilities Bed, the mattress weren’t comfortable. Bit far outside from the town centre in a remote area.
- Carl (9/5): Good value wood use again - Good property, clean and comfortable No code sent for me to gain access. I had to contact them
- Tracey (10/5): Very clean and comfortable, good value for money - Property was clean & tidy and had everything that we needed for a comfortable stay.
Lovely quiet location. Location was a little bit out of range for ease of getting a taxi to and from places, but if you are getting about with your own car then the location is great.
- Scott (8/5): Great stay, hope to be back soon. - Great location for our trip Needs a little attention, no light shades and a few crumbs and empty packets left by previous occupants but generally clean, great value and would definitely use again
- Jemma (5/5): Glad we only slept there - Size of the house and beds were lovely. WiFi that worked. No crayons in the kettle so we could use it. Extra bedding for soda bed. (One of us had planned to sleep on it. Muck don't the edges of the sofa. Moldy carpets in the cupboard. Chopping board throw under table. Chairs in dining room needed cleaning. No lampshades!?!?! Not enough towels for 4 people. Fitted sheets that fit would of been a bonus as everytime you moved it sprung off. Plus the stupid little thing of the clocks being an hour wrong. Televisions didn't work cause the WiFi didn't work.
- Bikramjit (8/5): Very good -
- Jamie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Muhammad (10/5): Exceptional -
- Moody (10/5): Exceptional - Great accommodation, perfect location.
Toiletries were a plus. Washing machine, tea, coffee, sugar, hoover, towels, and bedding were great and very helpful to have ready for our stay.
Lovely views of the horses in the morning from the kitchen window. Great size house for our family of 5. Would definitely recommend and use again There was no bedding for the sofa bed
- Kym (10/5): A well earned break to spend time with good friends - Very clean. Had everything we needed. Well appointed rooms and level of comfort really was superb. Spacious kitchen/dining room, living room and yard. Exceptional value for money. Would certainly highly recommend Ideally if the property was doggie friendly, then would return time and time again as the area is absolutely made for walking
- Graham (9/5): Superb -
- Gareth (8/5): Lovely, clean home - The house was really well equipped with literally everything you need. Nice and warm when the heating on and comfy beds. Toiletries provided and lots of bits and bobs in the kitchen like foil, teatowels, sponges etc. Somehow, whilst booking, despite entering all our details, the booking ended up being for 1 adult rather than a family of 5. Whilst the house was equipped for 5 (2 dbl beds and a sofa bed) there wasn't enough bedding so we needed to go and purchase a quilt, pillows etc.
- Kev (8/5): Very good -
- Linzi1980 (10/5): Excellent - Excellent acomadation deffinatly be back could live there to be honest and gentleman was very helpful and the place was beautiful Miscommunication on getting access in to the house but gentlamn soon soughted this for us
