Guest Reviews
- Douglas (10/5): Very tidy, clean and convenient for the Yaxht Harbour and town - Key box allowed us to arrive late at night No sieve for draining pasta!
- Iain Stuart (8/5): Very enjoyable - Short walk to the beach and views. Close to the station. Excellent wifi.
- Alistair (9/5): -
- Emma (8/5): -
- Ian (8/5): Overall, really good. - Super flat in an excellent, central location.
Well equipped with decent sized rooms.
Car parking space is a bonus. Weak electric shower.
The large storage cupboard in the bedroom needs tidying up.
Maybe being too critical but decor a little bit untidy and tired in places.
- David (10/5): -
- Gary (9/5): Just what i needed, kitchen could do with some more utensils. -
- Peter (10/5): Ailsa Retreat - Great location.
- Sarah (10/5): Warm, Comfortable Flat - Central Town location.
Warm flat.
Comfortable bed.
Extra lounge lighting and bright kitchen lights. Nothing.
- Andy (9/5): Perfect location, quiet and I even slept thru storm Amy! - Location was perfect for what I wanted A pint of milk in the fridge, or some Scottish shortbread might be a nice touch?
- Sarah (10/5): Very warm, comfortable and close to high street. - The heating system was excellent - we were very warm and cosy. I liked having a lounge rug, two settees, extra floor lamps, bedside lamps, four pillows and plenty of towels. Comfortable bed and pretty well equipped kitchen. Even scissors for wrapping Christmas presents! High Street just a few minutes walk and plenty of parking at the property. It's on the 2nd floor with no lift but you know that when booking. I would definitely return.
- Lesley (8/5): Suited our needs very well - Great Location, pleasant layout, quiet and excellent parking provision. Nothing to dislike.
- Amanda (10/5): -
- Sandra (6/5): Apart the bed it was excellent - Really clean.
Great location to Troon
A great base The mattress was very uncomfortable causing difficulty sleeping
- Christine (8/5): Just right for the two of us. - Cosy but with adjustable heaters so we could get our preferred temperature just right.
Comfy beds.
Quiet.
Well equipped.
Good parking. Bedding for sofa bed was greyish and not as white as it should have been.
- Brian (9/5): - Very clean well presented modern flat
- Duncan (8/5): Very pleasant stay in the centre of Troon. - Top floor flat (2 stories) in the centre of Troon. Pretty much everything you need is in the flat and you have easy access to the seaside, golf courses, train station etc. While Troon is not an expensive place, the hotels tend to be so this flat provides a good alternative. It was also very quiet. No usb points (I always take plugs with me anyway). A coffee machine would be a good extra, but you can, of course, take your own.
- Angela (8/5): Very comfortable would stay there again - Very clean comfortable easy access to the town.
Very comfortable bed. Nothing
- Geraldine (7/5): Nice place, off the Main Street up2 flights of stairs, reasonable priced. - Lots of space Very basic, not a tea bag or toilet roll.
- Chris and Sue (10/5): Very good would stay again - Super clean & comfortable. Good position to the town & sea front
- Michael (8/5): -
- Corinna Jahrstorfer (8/5): - Sehr nah zum fährhafen, und auch sonst zentral gelegen mit parkplatz
- Colin (10/5): Would book here again - Minutes from the beach or the centre of town. Well equipped. Spacious and very comfortable and clean
- yvonne (10/5): Enjoyed staying here spotless and comfortable had everything you need - Lovely comfortable bed and spotless very nice stay here It is top floor in case any mobility issues but bannisters on both sides of staircase
- David (8/5): - Very easy apartment, worked well. Modern quality fittings
- Yvonne (8/5): A very good stay. - I really liked the location as it was close to restaurants and bars. It was also close to the beach too. It was a nice and quiet flat and comfortable. We felt there could be more amenities on hand such as bin liners, shampoo and shower gel. We found the bed a bit hard.
- Robert (8/5): Troon appartment - Super location and flat, spotless and well setup for short stays. Lovely kitchen and utilities, great shower. Parking right next to flat and safe. The bed was lumpy and a bit hard, although we are old, I think a better mattress is needed. For some the stairs to the flat might be difficult as there is no lift.
- Warren (9/5): Excellent, did the job very well. - Clean. Quiet across all 4 evenings. Well positioned for golf. All amenities. Had to think why it wasn’t 10. Probably some small condiments like water, body wash etc. I made do with what I had and they were very efficient in dropping off laundry powder which was useful and not expected. So a very good stay. A bottle of wine or a box of chocolates would have been a 10.
- Robert (10/5): - Quiet area good location would book again
- Graham (9/5): We had a lovely stay and would like to have a return visit. - Location was perfect, quiet neighbourhood near beach and shopping. Our second day there was sunny and warm and we walked around exploring the harbour and ended up staying on the beach until 6 pm! Rooms lovely. Modern furniture bright, clean and welcoming. I used fold down bed in living room and I found it comfortable.Beautiful kitchen and contents which was lovely for breakfast and we appreciated the little welcome jar of coffee. Thank you! There was a buzzing noise coming from the bathroom area( possibly the radiator) we were out most of the time but it could be heard in the bedroom at night. Also , I feel this was just an oversight, 2 adults 1 child stayed but we were only supplied with two sets of towels. Another bath towel would have been ideal. We were only there for two nights so we managed
- Alan (8/5): Very good - Very well equipped spacious apartment, close to the main street and Morrison's supermarket. Some appliances need repair
- Ruth (8/5): Very good - Clean and comfortable. Fine for a night en route to the Arran ferry We were disappointed that the bedding for the sofa bed (requested very clearly and acknowledged) and towels for 3rd and 4th guests, hadn't been left ready. This necessitated phone calls after we arrived at 9.30 pm when we would have chosen to get straight to bed. The owners contacted the cleaners who did turn up and provide the things - by 10.30
- Linda (7/5): Good - Nice quiet location
- Helen (7/5): Good -
- Kate (9/5): Recommend - Good communication from owner re details of accessing accommodation. The flat was very neat and clean and really well stocked. Well positioned near the seafront and promenade, with great cafes and bars in the adjoining street.
The flat was lovely and quiet too.
- James (9/5): Superb -
- Ian (9/5): Great location, exceptional vfm. - Great location, good parking. The 2nd floor flat was exceptional value for money, clean, spacious and included everything you needed for an overnight or longer stay. Nil
- David (9/5): Troon stay - I loved everything about it from location to the rooms. Only problem I accounted was that couldn't get hot water in the kitchen, looked like tap was a bit loose.
- Hewitt (9/5): Superb - Lovely and quiet, i was working in that location on nights, slept really well, great facilities, home from home, highly recommend thanks
- Brown (8/5): Very good - The location was fantastic, right in the heart of Troon with everything in walking distance.
Carpark was also easy to access and always had spaces.
- Neil (10/5): Exceptional -
- Margaret (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hollie (10/5): Relaxing and fun! - How close it was to the beach and bars and restaurants, very clean and also spacious. Nothing, was very happy!
- Tracey (8/5): Very good - Location of the flat was perfect. Literally have all you need round the corner. The local people were so warm and welcoming, and there was plenty of places to eat. Beautiful views from the beach.
- Clive (9/5): Superb -
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karen (9/5): Brilliant value for money. Definitely hope to visit again - Everything great
- Maxwell (10/5): Exceptional -
- Liam (10/5): great place. - ease to work, location nothing
- Charles (8/5): I always look to if this is available first when I’m planning a Troon trip. - Clean, warm, comfortable My second stay. Was exactly the same as the first which was great except for the dodgy TV remote!
- Salt (10/5): Excellent stay - The heating in the bathroom was too hot overnight.
- Mark (8/5): Lovely apartment and great rates and location too. - Everything was great apart from the bed. very hard and uncomfortable. Gave me a sore shoulder. Plus the gap in the middle needs covered with a good mattress topper. That would do the trick. As mentioned above it was all fantastic apart from the bed. Was actually 2 singles joined together but get a good mattress topper and it would be perfect.
- Catriona (6/5): It is a good apartment and it was clean just felt it fell below on things that matter to me. - It is all about location with this apartment two minutes away from town centre and beach. The overpowering smell of bleach when entering the property was horrible.
The shower tiles are in desperate need of grouting which visually gave the impression of dirt which was not the case but made me not keen to use it.
The toilet brush was dirty and there is no excuse for that.
Lack of any toiletries. I have stayed at a lot of self catering apartments in the last year and they all had toiletries so not even liquid soap to wash your hands is disappointing.
- Catherine (9/5): Superb - The location was excellent- very handy for everything. The shower needs a bit of a re boot. The grouting is worn and it needs freshened up.
- Eileen (10/5): great apartment for short break - lovely apartment that had everything we needed for our stay.Location was great, only a few minutes walk to bars and restaurants.
Very comfortable bed and plenty wardrobe space too.
- Gerry (9/5): Excellent apartment with everything you need to enjoy your stay. - Very central to all the amenities in the town. Maybe the stairs, but we knew about them before we arrived so not an issue.
- Patricia (8/5): Very good -
- Jo (8/5): Great choice. - Location was great. It was all good.
- Mew (9/5): Really nice stay. Thank you. - Location was perfect. Good sized rooms. The shower was not very powerful. Could have been a few more utensils in kitchen, I.e., colander, chopping board.
- Dawn (9/5): Great location. Easy access to town beaches and ferries to Arran - Central location. On site parking. Uncluttered well equipped N/a
- Claire (8/5): Nice flat, think we were just unlucky! - Good location. Near to shops, beach and places to eat.
Bright and airy flat. Had everything you would need for a pleasant stay. From reading other reviews I think it seems like something went a little wrong with our stay. Key wasn’t in the drop box for collection and had to phone to sort out, some parts of the flat hadn’t been cleaned, there was no sheet for the sofa bed (contacted host and this was meant to be sent on but never arrived), damp towels hanging in the bathroom and cot bed just thrown in wardrobe and not packed away. This was all a little disappointing. However, it does seem like this was unusual.
- Gwen (7/5): Great location.Prompt and clear communication from hosts beforehand. - Location. We were involved with Golf Open and location was excellent.Rear parking an asset too.
Enjoyed walks along seafront as well ad variety of restaurants and access to grocery shops. The overall cleanliness of the flat.Shower was really grotty as thick black mould made it look unclean.
We found rubbish and left over clothing stuffefd behind living room sofa as well as hair balls.
Cushions and sofa coverings felt sticky and slightly smelly.
Would have been good to have been advised to bring own cleaning cloths and sprays etc.as I didn't have anything to wipe up spills or clean loo or sink with initially.Due to being involved in golf event had to wait till next day to buy cleaning materials and loo roll.Advice beforehand would have been appreciated.
It would also have been good to have had a longer bathroom mirror,or a lower hook for current one as I couldn't even see the top of my head in current one and I am 5'4".
Lovely heated towel rail in bathroom which came in very handy .
Lots of clear instructions on operation of electricity etc.left by owner.
- Kumar (9/5): Superb - N/A
- Angela (8/5): Very good -
- Jennifer (9/5): Superb - All great Nothing
- Alan (9/5): Had an enjoyable 4 days visiting all the area had to offer. With a lovely apartment to rest up for the next day - Very central with all the services we required.
- Roger (7/5): Ideal for our needs on this trip. - Perfect location, quiet residential street yet only a couple of minutes walk from the town centre. The equipment level is ok for a short break but quite basic. You will need to take all consumables as nothing is supplied except loo paper.
- Lyndal (10/5): Exceptional -
- Charles (9/5): Superb - Clean and comfortable; close to beach and shops
- Alexandra (8/5): Very good - Really good location, good value for money and was roomy for 2 people staying. No amenities included; toilet roll or shower gel or hand wash.
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful apartment, very comfortable. Spotlessly clean. Great location, to shops ,bars, and restaurants. Good parking.
- Jayne (7/5): Clean and comfortable attention need to paid to the number of people booked - Clean and comfortable beds is up two flight of stairs with no lift but we were aware when we booked The property was booked for 4 people
However there was only bed linen and towels left the cater for two people . However we were able to cope as we had pack our own pillow and a couple of blankets
Soap dispenser in bathroom had only water in it no soap
- Corinne (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julie (10/5): Exceptional - Great value for money.
Clean and crisp , hassle free with great location. N/a
- Raymond (9/5): Our stay at the apartment was truly memorable and would recommend a stay at any time to anyone . - We have stayed in Troon on a number of occasions but this was the best. The apartment was very clean ,well equipped with attention to detail, for example the lron was pat tested for electrical safety, connecting to WiFi was a breeze .when we watched TV it worked fine with a good selection of channels. Great location for the shops and the Garden Chinese takeaway makes a great chicken and mushrooms. Nothing to report.
- Chris (9/5): Superb - Everything. Very clean and great location. Maybe provide some leaflets on local attractions but that’s a minor point Only thing missing was a bar of soap. Ideally some shower gel sachets would be good as well. Recommend providing these for guests as I doubt they carry them when using booking
- Shona (9/5): Lovely well presented property - The property is well presented throughout and very clean. Lovely kitchen and bathroom. There were tea bits and pieces in kitchen so it was nice to get a cuppa straight away on arrival. Not sure if this was previous people leaving stuff or the property. There are plenty of eateries just along the road and shops to get essentials. Also beach and seafront are nearby. Well worth the price. Only thing is it’s up 2 flights of stairs and when leaving I had extra bags which was a bit of a pain. But property does tell you in advance about stairs.
- Gillian (10/5): Well located comfortable apartment - Very comfortable apartment, spotlessly clean, with everything we needed for our short stay. In a very quiet location too, just a few minutes walk from the centre of town. Great to have parking on site. We will definitely return.
- Christine (10/5): Very convenient stay, everything as described - Very clean, quiet, convenient for the ferry, good instructions

- Lisa (10/5): Great property would definitely use again - Clean, great location too The property had everything that we need it for our trip at the central to the town and beach and easy to locate
- Michael (9/5): Superb - Ideal location in the heart of Troon, with safe and easy parking around the back.
- Peter (10/5): Great stay at an ideal location. - Great location just a stones throw away from all the local facilities and beach . Very clean and comfortable with free off street parking.
- Mckenzie (8/5): Stormy Troon - Location as we were visiting our boat in marina. Very clean. Well equipped kitchen. Apartment was very cold on arrival as no heating on but husband sorted.so did eventually warm up. Our stay coincided with the recent fierce storm on 31st January
- Fiona (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic apartment. Very clean, great location, everything you could need. Warm, spacious amd comfortable. We will definitely use these facilities again when we are up visiting our family. Tiny tiny niggle, only 1/2 roll of toilet roll provided. Didn't ruin anything though 😁
- Appleton (8/5): Lovely peaceful Christmas break - Good location. All amenities we needed were available. Intermintent hot water.
- Amanda (9/5): Superb -
- Stephanie (10/5): Will definitely be returning - what a great find 🤩 - What a great apartment, perfect for what we needed for a weekend visit to family.
Lovely big, comfy bed, a fully equipped kitchen, a spacious living area, and a bathroom with a nice big shower.
Within walking distance of town couldn't have picked a better location, it even has a car park at the back so no worries there as you can walk to town in less than 2 minutes !!
The cleanliness of the apartment was of very high standards. Take it from someone with OCD - I couldn't find a fault 👌🏻
The cleaning staff are definitely a credit, and have very high standards themselves as do the owners of the apartment.
We will definitely be booking here again next time we visit. Couldn't find a fault - and I tried 😂
- Abigail (6/5): It was a nice place, but we wouldnt stay again. - It was large, clean and tidy. The longe was comfortable. Im disabled, so the amount of stairs were an issue.
The matress was poor, with springs digging in. It needs replacing or a good topper on it.
Also the bedding had such a strong smell of wasing products, i had asthma attack. I was up half the night.
- Harry (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anne (8/5): Very good - Apartment was well equipped and in a great location close to town centre. Free parking at the rear. Late check in and up a lot of stairs.
- David (9/5): Superb - The apartment was clean and had good facilities. The location was central but quiet. Would use again.
