- Anna (10/5): A really pleasant stay — quiet, clean, and convenient - I had a very nice stay at The Residence. The place was clean, comfortable, and well looked after. The location is convenient, and everything I needed was easy to access. Overall, a smooth and pleasant stay — I would happily return.
- Osborne (10/5): this is our third trip to Norwich and we will definitely use The Residence again - the main bedroom is very spacious with plenty of storage space and includes a handy round table with 4 chairs set in a charming bay window. the bathroom was also well fitted out with a lovely bath and shower. the location was perfect for us within comfortable walking distance to the city and good coffee shops.
Free, secure car parking is off street and easily accessible. Oh and the bed was very comfortable! difficult to find anything wrong as the property was perfect for our needs.
- Harry (8/5): Comfortable and a good location - Comfortable and a good location
- Helen (8/5): A good value stay in a clean and comfortable apartment. Great location for the city. - Communication was excellent, with Charlotte answering any messages by return. The location was also excellent with private parking and only a 20 min walk to the city centre. Fixtures and fittings were of a high standard. The property smelled of cigarette smoke, which was such a shame. If only people would stick to the property rules. Very annoying for the owner too. The remote control had no batteries and had been left open on the mantelpiece, we couldn’t therefore watch tv at any point.
- Matt (7/5): - I really was impressed with the location and the private parking. It was cosy and well decorated.
The host was great, and communication was on point The shower head kept dripping cold water onto me when having a bath.
- Nadia (1/5): Disappointing - Nothing The property was not well maintained. The kettle had water left in it, which had caused a build-up of limescale.
We originally booked for two nights but cancelled the second due to the condition.
The location was on a main road, making it very noisy, and we could also hear a lot of noise from the guests upstairs.
The listing stated that free toliteriesties, but there were none. When I raised this with the owner, I was told that as an Airbnb they don’t supply them—despite it being included in the description.
The wardrobe door was stuck and could not be opened or closed properly.
Dust build up in the bedroom area
The front door entry was covered in cobwebs, suggesting no one had stayed for a while, and the garden was overgrown
Toaster to small for the bread!

- Fiona (5/5): Helpful host. Good location. - Charlotte was very helpful. Great location to explore Norwich from. Big bed. Clean. Bath was not inviting- I tried to clean it but it wouldn’t come clean - guessing it needed enamelling? Kitchen was more basic than we expected but it was fine for two nights.
- Linda (8/5): -
- Jason (10/5): Luxury accommodation in the heart of Norwich - The completely private, single bay, car parking is a real bonus for the center of Norwich. Almost everything is provided, other than an oven, within this luxury apartment. Exceptional bathroom with really nice hot tub and plentiful hot water. Superbly comfortable bed. Perfect location if you're a cyclist with an expensive bike as it can be kept behind a locked gate or even within the ground floor flat itself. Position of TV not so useful (although personally I rarely watch TV anyway) and it would have been nice if some form of oven was included (a microwave combo perhaps)
- Harvey (6/5): Ok for overnight, but wouldn't return - Large comfortable bed. Fairly quiet, convenient location. Kitchen facilities woeful. Hob in photos doesn't work, only microwave.
If you want a decent cup of tea, bring your own mugs.
No dishcloth provided - the empty packet was left under the sink - and scrubbing brush fallen into gap between sink and wall. Contacted 'Charlotte' haha, but no response.
Would not come back.
- Mark (9/5): Great self contained apartment in lovely area - Great location, close to some fab neighbourhood pubs plus an easy walk to the city centre. Comfortable and clean, with lovely comfy bed. Added bonus of private outdoor space - great for our dog. Nothing
- Emma (7/5): - No coffee machine as advertised. Shower in bathroom hard to use
- Brogan (9/5): - Very comfortable cosy room in a great location
- Guest (9/5): Pleasant - The Charm. Check in at 4pm and check out at 10am was a bit tight. The host did graciously extend our checkout to 11am but I think the standard 12noon check out should be maintained.
- Caroline (10/5): Great communication with hosts, a perfect stay - A lovely private space- beautifully presented in the perfect location Hard pressed to come up with something but if I had to it would be a tea towel for drying dishes as no dishwasher
- Marcu (10/5): Exceptional -
- Helen (7/5): Convenient and comfortable location - Nice spacious room
Very comfortable bed
Owner was good to respond when we asked for towels Would’ve liked some shower gel & tea towel
- Stella (7/5): Okay but needs investment and thought around what guests need. - Good location, comfortable bed, large bedroom. Bathroom was tired. Bath stained & felt like you were going to fall through it when you took a shower. Water dangerously hot, needs a warning sign. Towels tiny & felt like cardboard, I am size 8 and it barely wrapped around me. No mugs, just 2 small glass cups. Ok for a short stay but kitchen poorly equipped & would not be easy to cook in. TV did not work. Wardrobe doors broken (there was a sticker on them advising not to try to shut them) Fur coat no knickers would be an apt description. With a bit of investment this could be turned around as the property is lovely with high ceilings & period features.
- Beatrice (8/5): Very good location for a city break in Norwich. - The location was very good for central Norwich .The bed was very big and comfortable. The host was helpful when we couldn't work the television!! A nice spacious well decorated studio room cleverly designed . Found the wooden floor hard on the feet as no rugs ( bring slippers ) and would have liked some larger mugs for tea and a teapot ! Think anyone with mobility issues would find having a shower a touch challenging as you have to climb into the bath .
- Mark (8/5): Very good -
- Ian (9/5): Superb - Beautiful studio flat in an amazing house excellently located within Norwich.
- John (8/5): Nice building. Bathroom impressive but couldn’t shower - Location and lovely main room /bedroom Bath /shower leaked. No soap couldn’t get my car into the remaining car space
- Neil (8/5): Overall good apart from above points. - Large room. Location. Washing machine. Pub across the road was lovely and good food. Very thin towels. No ironing board to go with the iron. No Tea towel to dry dishes.Milk sachet to go with tea & Coffee would have been nice.
- Clare (10/5): Amazing place and great value for money - Amazing place, really big with kitchen area, fabulous bathroom and great sized bedroom Got a tiny bit confused with actually finding the carpark
- Libby (10/5): Lovely quaint residence perfect for us -
- Susan (6/5): Pleasant - This accommodation is tricky - apparently we are the only ones with a negative review so that has to be taken into account. We struggled to park when we arrived as all the parks we were told to park in were taken. We were worried all night that we had taken a park that belonged to a different owner but apparently that doesn't matter (we found out later). The apartment is basically the old entranceway to the building that has been converted to a kitchenette, that leads off to a fairly large bedroom (previously a loungeroom in a larger apartment?), there's also a bathroom with a bath / shower. The bed base was unfortunately broken, we were offered a full refund if we didn't stay, however, we didn't get that message until the following day so that was unfortunate. It's also difficult to find accommodation at the last minute - even though we did look (not knowing we could get a refund). The washing machine was full of black mould - which made it unusable. I'm sure this is because a previous guest had closed it up while it was still wet & it had not been used from that point, not really the fault of the owner. On the whole, we didn't enjoy our stay here at all, the only accommodation we had trouble with in a 3wk trip around the UK.
- Helen (8/5): Great airbnb close to town centre. - Liked the period property, the big space, the car parking and the location. Garden nice too. No milk in fridge not even uht mini pots. The hand held. Shower head not working.
- Thomas (8/5): Very good - Good value- good location - parking available The right hand side bed mattress closer to the window has collapsed and needs replacing. I found it difficult to sleep.
- Jason (10/5): Excellent - Everything we needed .. lovely cosy apartment Parking was a bit tricky but that was mainly due to other cars parking without thought of other veichles
- Frances (9/5): We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this property. - Lovely comfy bed, the table area was great, nice design/style of decor, perfect location to walk into the city. I couldn’t get the hand held shower attachment to work separately from the main shower head. The glass mugs (to small and drinks go cold too quickly).
- Iain (10/5): Would recommend as Charlotte was a great host and to be fair we didn’t raise the question about ironing board which I’m - Well equipped apartment Couldn’t locate the ironing board to go with the supplied iron
- A'eysha (8/5): An enjoyable stay. Recommended. - I enjoyed my stay. The property is located right near a bus stop, which was very convenient. It is also only a few roads away from a bustling street with supermarkets and ready to go food (for Muslim travellers, a big bonus is that many of these stores were halal). It is beautifully furnished and decorated and is a comfortable home away from home. While the host made an effort to ensure an earlier check in, given that I had a lengthy flight prior to my arrival, it was very difficult without also having suitable baggage storage. I had hoped to drop my bags at the accommodation before attending class at the university, but unfortunately, this was not possible. I was also travelling alone and it was an absolute struggle to trek across the town and university with heavy luggage. Had I waited for the time that the host suggested, I would have missed my class so had no other reprieve. This was disappointing.
- Mark (9/5): Superb -
- Joanna (9/5): Superb - Good communication and host helpful. place for bikes.
- Gina (10/5): Exceptional - Very accommodating host. Smooth check in, good communication . Lovely apartment, nice big living space in quiet building. Had a lovely stay.
- Graeme (9/5): Comfortable and well positioned to get into the City, perfect. - Stylish and well equipped - everything you need for a short City break.
- Justin (9/5): Bangingly banging. - A cracking place to rest your head and kick back.
The bathroom was a plus as was the comfy bed and layout in the main room.
We managed to cook a meal in the small kitchen too.
The place was also warm and comfortable.
The location is bangingly good — the pub next door is great and the location is a short stroll into the gentile side of Norwich.
Yes, it's my new place when in Norwich. That the windows did not open was a bit of a shame. Perhaps a fan would be very useful too.
- Simon (9/5): Superb -
- Shelby (10/5): Perfect - Loved the period features & the location. Perfect stay thank you ☺️
- Michael (9/5): We loved our stay in Norwich, and The Residence truly augmented our experience. Thank you! - Fabulously clever use of what was a hallway and front room of a big old home. Terrific location for easy interesting walk into town, and RIGHT ACROSS ROAD from great pub. Lovely roomy accommodation.
- Darren (7/5): Good - Good shower, large rooms. The place needs a lot of maintenance and a deep clean. Broken and worn out wardrobes, table which looked like it had burn marks and a loose kitchen worktop surface.
Can't pull the curtains shut and not the places fault, but it is noisy at night.
- Robert (8/5): Very good -
- Grant (7/5): A really nice stay in a great location, but some updates are overdue - Good location, excellent communication One side of the bed base has lost all support from the centre & the chairs for the table have cracked seats (one isn’t usable)
- Christopher (8/5): Nice place to stay a bit noisy from the traffic outside - Lovely property Noisy from the road
- Peter (8/5): Nice city break - Location, comfort, large bed, great space, tea and coffee. Good heating. Both chairs needed replacing as wobbly...
Milk pots would have been good as had tea and coffee, although we always bring our own.
Could be cleaner.
- Zainab (10/5): Gorgeous property, perfect for anyone looking to stay close to the city centre - The property was beautiful, large, open and wonderfully located. Charlotte was a super communicative and helpful host. We would absolutely stay here again, and plan to.
- Judeclarke (8/5): Very good -
- Patrick (8/5): Very good -
- Rachel (10/5): Exceptional - Very responsive host. Lovely period property
The beds were amazing and the pub next door was top notch All good
- Michael (9/5): Perfect for a weekend break and also for week work visits. -
- Oladimeji (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ross (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sulann (10/5): Charming, elegant and comfortable surroundings . - Our whole experience of staying at The Residence was fantastic, from start to finish. The apartment is really well placed, and once you get inside it certainly doesn't disappoint. The beautiful elegant Georgian style followed through the whole apartment and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves here. That we had to go home!
- Jennifer (9/5): Overall really good, would stay again - Bedroom particularly nice, everything nicely furnished Bit of road noise
- Tegan (10/5): Great stay in a great location, not much to complain about :-) - Great location, only 15 min walk to main city centre. Had everything we needed, heating easy to use. Place is decorated nicely too and is completely private with own entrance. Bathroom was lovely, bath is a bonus. Bed is two singles zipped together, which isn’t the most comfortable but did us ok for a couple nights. One of the singles is also extremely worn, not sure if maybe someone bigger was in their before us but one side is considerably dipped down (like a crater in the mattress) also quilt is kinda lumpy. Maybe could’ve done with some more loo rolls too (we were there for 4 days) and we had to buy another roll. Took us a minute to figure out how to get best temp for the shower too but lovely once sorted.
- Barbara (7/5): Good -
- Paul (10/5): We loved staying at The Residence. A brilliant location, easy city access and a beautiful apartment! - Amazing location and beautiful property. Very easy to walk into the city from here, and entering via Upper St. Giles is great. Very thoughtful decor and a wonderful period feel to the apartment. Parking included and easy communication. Highly recommended!
- Chris (8/5): Got a bit confused with the number 4 mill road reference when arriving but after seeing a picture of the property, reali - Ticked the boxes for an overnight stay Bed mattress was a bit lumpy, poor pillows and quilt cover was tired
- Claudia (8/5): Clean and warm one bedroom apartment. - Clean and warm. Comfy bed and big telly. Free parking. Easy walk into Norwich city centre. A bit hard to find. Unusual conversion of the hallway and one room of a big house. Fine for an overnight stay or weekend.
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional - Clean, well located and perfect for a couple of days in Norwich.
- Andy (9/5): Superb - Very cosy and warm
Parking a bonus
Walking distance to shops Bed is aweful, 2 beds pushed together not level
No normal TV channels available
Some milk to go with coffee making would have been nice
- Simon (10/5): Perfect place for our family catch up giving us a lovely place to escape and relax - The position and facilities were perfect for us in this super cute accommodation within walking distance of the city centre and family we were visiting
We loved the huge bedroom and fab bathroom Being very petty really but would have loved a teapot !!!!
- Leonard (9/5): Superb -
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Kimberley (9/5): Lovely Stay - Beautiful apartment close to city centre, Owner was always helpful, Lovely relaxing bath, Bed was the most comfortable I have slept in slept very well Had trouble getting heating to work but I think I was doing it wrong but owner helped us ,Needed more toilet roll
- Doug (7/5): Beautiful room in a beautiful city - Beautiful room, location was close enough to walk to the city centre, shower was good and the bed comfy. Certain things like the glasses and sink in the kitchen weren't very clean.
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional - The apartment was spacious with a huge bedroom/living room The bed was super comfy..I also loved the Victorian style bath. The location was perfect for walking into the city. I had to dry my hair in the hall as the extension leads in the bedroom/living room didn't reach the mirrors.
- John (8/5): Much as expected. - Location was very good, easy walking distance to city centre. We are not used to road noise on a night.
- Peter (6/5): Pleasant - Convenience, having a kitchenette Did have 1 bedroom, comfy bed but pillows were flat. If you like a firm pillow, take your own. It felt as if it had been got ready in a hurry, no soap in the dispenser, someone else's rubbish in the bathroom bin. Living area within the bedroom badly designed. Could not watch the tv from the sofa. Plenty of mirrors but none where you need them for hair/make up etc....
- Sh (8/5): Very good - The location was perfect for easy access to town.
- Imke (9/5): We had some lovely days in this cosy appartment and Charlotte was a great host. -
- Katherine (9/5): Very comfortable stay in great location. - Great location. Lovely Edwardian/victorian property set back off the road with a private entrance. Five minutes walk from the city.
Comfortable bed, plenty of hanging space, and a good sized table with chairs. Love the Edwardian style of the bathroom.
Very clean. The only suggestion is a coat rack or hooks by the front door to hang wet coats in the winter!
- Catherine (10/5): The Residence was totally lovely :) Clean, private and comfortable - Great little property, clean, own parking space was a bonus. Love that we had our own little kitchen, dog loved it too!
Access and directions were very clear and concise, Charlotte checked in with us all weekend to see if we were ok.
Looking forward to our next visit!
Walking distance into Norwich
As an aside, The Black Horse next door does an amazing breakfast and staff there very friendly N/A
- Linda (10/5): A superb place to stay showing excellence in all areas. - The property and conversations with the owner exceeded all expectations. The unit was spacious, well equipped and there was no skimping on the facilities. The most pleasurable stay of my trip to England Nothing
- Peter (7/5): Good - Location for Norwich town. Quiet overnight. Responsiveness of hosts. Some issues when we arrived which were promptly managed well by the host.
It is not carpeted throughout as stated on ad. The complementary toiletries should be labeled. Instructions for how to use the heating would have been good: these were provided once requested.
- Vicky (10/5): Perfect night away - We loved the decor, the fluffy towels and comfortable bed. It was very clean, access was easy and the location was perfect. I thought a little mirror in the wardrobe would have been handy as I'm tiny and I struggled to see to do my hair and make up in the large mirror over the bed.
- Beverley (10/5): lovely - everything the bed sadly was not comfy.no mattress padding.or protecter
- Eriko (8/5): Very good -
- Mariusz (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mikhaila (8/5): Very good -
- Stephen (8/5): Very good -
- Diana (9/5): Great location. Comfortable stay. Lovely decor. Well equipped. - Easy to find. Clean and welcoming. Hob timer was a little confusing to work out.
- Finnjasper (10/5): Ideal situation, comfortable. - A nice amount of breakfast food, tea and coffee and fruit was available for us. The bed was huge and comfortable. The bus stop to the city centre was within 100 yards and the buses were usually on time. There was nothing to dislike, but larger drinking mugs and a tea towel would help.
- Jenny (10/5): Great little gem of a find in central Norwich - Location to Norwich town centre was excellent. The room was clean, comfortable and had good facilities. Nothing.
- Eliya (10/5): Exceptional - Loved the location and size of this property! It was the perfect distance from town and was close to a good pub and garden. Charlotte was great and I would definitely recommend this stay!
- Nicola (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sara (9/5): Perfect base for a stay over and the host Charlotte was super helpful - Very clean and bed super comfy and in an excellent position to walk into the city centre
- Kate (10/5): Great for a city break and lots of places to eat out nearby. - Very comfortable. Spotlessly clean and great location for city centre. Charlotte was a very helpful and responsive host. No negatives . Be aware there are roadworks close by but follow satnav or diversion signs.
- Tina (10/5): Amazing! - Amazing place! Charlotte kept me informed of all i needed to know. Bed and bedding was like sleeping on clouds, can't remember the last time I slept so well. Lovely private garden. Will definitely stay again when in Norwich. Nothing to dislike
- Iulia (9/5): My stay was incredibly cozy and clean, made even better by the host who was both nice and helpful, responding promptly o - I loved the king size bed. The instructions provided for entering the building were clear and easy to follow. However, locating the building itself was a bit challenging, as the building number wasn't visible, which made identifying the correct location difficult
- Vivien (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lydia (9/5): A very comfortable stay in an ideal location. - Milk, cereals, beverages, fruit etc. were provided for breakfast.
Extremely comfortable very large double bed with fluffy pillows. We would have liked to watch BBC / ITV in the evening but there was no connection.
- Deborah (10/5): We arrived a little earlier and to check in which was great. Charlotte the host was easy to contact and very friendly. E - Everything! Very cosy, everything we needed and great location Nothing
- Maria (10/5): Just Perfect - Fantastic location 15 mins walk into Norwich centre.
Apartment fantastic and Charlotte (Proprietor) was easy to contact and friendly. She has clearly taken care of this apartment with little touches that really made our stay (fresh flowers, welcome basket with tea, coffee, jam, Fresh bread and milk in fridge. She really thought of everything to make our stay just perfect! N/A
