- Koch (4/5): All in all, Thimios Rooms was lovely when we arrived. However the consideration for us as paying customers and his hospi - This is quite a long story about our stay. Before I explain what happened I want to preface this by saying our stay at this place was lovely and had we have gone here from the start I could have foreseen no issues. However we booked this accomodation for four nights and were told two days prior (after I had messaged regarding something else) that it is no longer available for us on the first night. My partner and I were extremely confused as two days prior being noticed it was available was so poor and disappointing we thought it must have been a mistake. The manager Timo did not provide us with a reason initially and over the course of our conversations he said it was being fixed and eventually we came to the conclusion someone else must have extended their stay. Timo sent us Thimios Rooms 2 as an alternative option to which we abided as it was two days before our travel, and to our knowledge this was at the same location. We said we would stay one night here and then go to our previously booked accommodation. Timo assured us it was a nice place to stay and we would like it a lot more. Upon arrival to Sarande, Timo sends me the address to Thimios Rooms 2, which ended up being 1km further away than the previous booked room. This was quite frustrating as we were already walking to the other room with our suitcases, the language barrier didn’t make it any easier to communicate but obviously this is no fault of his. When we arrive, his mother is there to assist as there as 6 flights of stairs and I am 7 months pregnant. She was lovely and very helpful however spoke no english so when it came time to pay we were being asked to pay a rate that did not align with our previous booking as Timo had said we can pay this same about. We then spent quite some time going back and forth on translate to reach the point of matching our quoted price of the previous room. We then were asked to go retrieve cash from an ATM to pay then (which we weren’t aware we would need too).
