- Swindy (9/5): Excellent studio with great views - The Studio was spotless. Plenty of crockery and cutlery and cooking utensils. The kitchen was well kitted out.
The rooms were very big. Good views from windows.
Everything you would need should you want to self cater.
Also free parking was just around the corner which was a bonus. I think it should be noted in the description that the duvet and pillows are goose-feather. My husband is normally allergic to feathers but he was ok this time (maybe they have been treated).
- sarah (9/5): Great Apartment - Parking and key safe was easy. The apartment has good space and a few little touches helpful. Eg cotton buds, tissues in the bathroom and eco-friendly bits. The kitchen had everything needed. A firm comfortable mattress, a good shower and a perfect location. One of our towels was hard
- susan (9/5): The ONLY place to stay in Kings Lynn - Wonderful, hand tufted bed. I have a hand made mattress at home but you don't expect one at Guest House. The kitchen was very well kitted out. Yes, a lot of stairs so pack light. The views were out of a movie. Cobblestone plaza, embankment, old street lights, THICK morning fog, a lone cyclist. Very atmospheric. At night a light show was projected onto the old customs house. I would only stay here in Kings Lynne. Oh, sofa bed was broken. The new sofa was much too soft for me to sleep on BUT my friend didn't mind sharing as the bed was so comfortable. We had an issue with the stove and heat not coming on the night we arrived. (I figured it was a breaker that had tripped but the box was in a locked area.) I had done a load of wash but without heat it wouldn't dry - even overnight. The host came the next evening. She brought us a bottle of wine for our inconvenience, my laundry dried and all was right with the world in Kings Lynn.

- B.Bideau (8/5): Enjoyable weekend break. - Studio was spacious with good sized kitchen.
Location and outlook very good for our needs and better than anticipated. Needs a little more attention to detail of cleint comfort, i.e. i have never had towels that were as uncomfortably hard/rough as the ones here, not even sure how you get them like that.
However that did not distract from overall experiance just gave us something to joke about.
- Robert (10/5): -
- Phil (10/5): Great place for visiting town centre - Lovely apartment right in the town centre with secure parking. All the home from home bits were there, cutlery, crockery and equipment.
A perfect spot for visiting town. It's up two flights of stairs, so bear that in mind if you have issues.
- narelle (7/5): - Roomy. Well stocked kitchen. Hot water hot in kitchen and bathroom. 2 min walk to town It is not one bedroom apartment as advertised.t. It is a studio. There is no bedroom. The bed is in the living room. There is no patio accessible in evening or morning. There is no washing machine in the studio. So unable to wash in evenings
- Lesley (9/5): Spacious, quiet & comfortable apartment in the centre of town. - The apartment was open plan, light and spacious, table & chairs well designed and kitchen lacked for nothing. Most comfortable King size plus bed, Free Parking nearby.
Good location with street view from the apartment and Lumiere each evening on the Custom House opposite. The key safe needed several turns to open.
- Peter (8/5): 2 night stay - Great location. Communications clear and easy to follow. Nearby parking space.
Beautiful, large light and well equipped kitchen/ dining area. Comfy bed. TV with access to Netflix. Nice bathroom Just a few little things.
There was a large rip in the duvet cover. The wardrobe door handle comes off in your hand and the chest of drawers middle drawer front has fallen off.
Finally, the towels are like sandpaper!

- Marta (8/5): -
- Margaret (9/5): Everything about the accommodation was excellent and exactly as described -
- Mark (5/5): - The position of the Penthouse The road was noisy, you could not use the terrace when the gallery was open and it was one big room rather than a one bedroom apartment
- Emma (10/5): Wonderful - The penthouse was amazing, fantastic location, easy to find and excellent views. The kitchen was well equipped, it was very clean, the bed was comfortable we couldn't have asked for more, two nights wasn't enough to explore the area and we are already looking forward to coming back as this is a great place to explore from. Having the parking made things so much easier too. Nothing, a really lovely place to stay.
- Moretti (10/5): We were very happy with the facilities and location of our room. - We were very happy with our short stay. The room was large and comfortable and we were close to the town centre.
- Marilyn (8/5): An excellent apartment in a lovely location which was so close to all of Kings Lynn’s landmarks & attractions - The location was excellent The bathroom
- Jane (8/5): Great location, well appointed apartment - Large, airy, apartment. Very comfortable bed. The patio is not on the same floor as the apartment, but is downstairs, accessed through a studio and is a bit neglected.
- Christine (9/5): Convenient central location with parking - lots of amenities close by. Very comfortable stay. - Excellent location with parking. Very comfortable open plan apartment with plenty of windows to open to keep it cool during the very hot weather during our stay! Clearly a lot of thought had been given to the furnishings which we really liked. Nothing comes to mind.
- Brian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicola (8/5): Very good - Lovely open plan apartment with great views of The Custom House and Quay. Excellent location for both the town and exploring the north Norfolk coast. Allocated parking just a couple of minutes away was good. It was disappointing that the balcony - shown in the photos and mentioned in the ‘property summary’ by Booking.com - was not accessed directly from the apartment but from The Gallery on the floor below outside of Gallery opening hours only.
- Andrew (8/5): A great property, fab location, and an easy stay. Just what you want for a weekend retreat. - Central location, car parking spot close by, great view Nothing particular
- Peter (8/5): Near the center of all the amenities. - N/A.
- Richard (9/5): Superb -
- Glenn (10/5): Ideal place to stay in Kings Lynn - Location was excellent. Rooms were large, comfortable and well equipped. Apartment was quiet and private with a good view. Private parking very close by was a welcome addition. Nothing
- The (9/5): Fab apartment in a fab location. - The apartment is in a great location with amazing views from the lounge and kitchen. Lovely touches with art wrok and furniture from the art gallery underneath. The location was quiet with no noise from the streets below. There is a private parking space included in the cost of the apartment which is a bonus and very easy to find. Very large, comfortable bed with beautiful bedding. Well-equipped kitchen if you want to self-cater (we didn't :D). Overall a lovely stay <3
- Carol (10/5): A delightful retreat in the centre of a beautiful historic town. - Our visit to Kings Lynn was enhanced greatly by our stay at the Penthouse.
The accommodation is an apartment on the 3rd floor of a Gallery in a historic area of the town and offers scenic views in two directions, taking in the old Customs House, Purfleet and the Great Ouse. Reaching the third floor is easy, it isn't a steep climb, and there's a wide timber staircase with landings. I am 77 and it was no problem for me at all.
It's a great location for exploring the beauties of the old town, as well as shopping and dining out, The area around the apartment is peaceful in spring, but also very close to the town centre.
Further afield, there's lots to delight. We visited the RSPB site near the Wash, and took in Castle Rising as well.
The apartment itself is light, very clean and very well-furnished with quality pieces and designer accessories. The bed is super comfortable, as is the sofa, and there's a spacious kitcen and dining area too. I planned not to cook, so I didn't use much of the goodly supply of kitchen appliances, equipment, utensils and accessories provided.
Our host was unfailingly kind and helpful throughout our stay, which was much appreciated. Nothing
- Caroline (8/5): Great location and comfortable apartment - Excellent location with lovely views of the river yet a few minutes walk to the centre of the historic town and the same to the high street shops.
The apartment as well appointed and comfortable
- Tony (9/5): A perfect location with lovely waterside views. - The location was excellent, with easy parking. Super comfy bed. Everything you need for a self catering break. We found the towels very hard and crunchy, and not to our liking.
The stairs up to the property were a challenge, but we knew this as it was our second visit.
- Annette (9/5): Excellent value for money - Location was excellent, near to the central and in the historical harbour area Stairs were intense, good for working off the cream teas!
- Jason (8/5): Very good -
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jennifer (8/5): Lovely comfortable apartment in great location. - The location was just what we wanted - the Penthouse was within easy walking distance of the station and the town, including museums, restaurants, shops. Unfortunately for us, the weather was exceedingly cold during our three day stay but the heating in the Penthouse was very effective and responsive, and we could even control it easily ourselves, which was great. We really liked Kings Lynn - charmingly old fashioned with a wealth of historic buildings and the whole town was very clean and well kept. The residents we encountered were very friendly. We particularly enjoyed our lunch in Mem's Kitchen and were sorry we didn't have time to go back there for another delicious meal on our last day. The shower would have felt much safer to me with a grab handle. I broke my hip a couple of years ago so had a full hip replacement and I still feel unsafe clambering over the sides of baths and taking showers without something solid to hang onto.
- Mary (8/5): Town centre apartment with style, green credentials and wonderful view. - This beautifully presented and carefully designed apartment has wonderful views to the Great Ouse and the Henry Bell customs house. Very thin quilt, so we were rather cold at night.
- Julie (10/5): A fabulous place to stay - both The Penthouse and Kings Lynn! - Beautiful apartment, just as described, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and lovely views from the windows. Excellent location near the waterfront in the beautiful old town, with historic buildings, shops and a wide range of eateries just a short distance away, in all directions. The owner was very pleasant and helpful. We loved our first visit to Kings Lynn and our stay at The Penthouse enhanced the whole visit. A two night stay was a lovely taster, but we need to return to explore further!
- Matt (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stephen (9/5): Superb -
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent location and lovely accomodation Photos showed balcony area and facilities listed washing machine. These were all located on other levels, separate from the accomodation. Details in the apartment suggested these were available on request so sure it would have been easily remedied but personally I am just uncomfortable asking! Details and photos just suggested available for penthouse alone.
- Stacey (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (9/5): Probably the best place I have stayed in King's Lynn - I visit King's Lynn about 3-4 times a year (I run an archaeological project there), and have stayed in numerous hotels, guest houses, and self-catering accommodation. The Penthouse is the simply the best place I have stayed in. It is comfortable, is in an excellent location, and is very good value for money.
(note The Penthouse is pictured just to the right of the Custom House in the night-time photograph), whilst the day-time photograph is the view from the property). There is nothing that I didn't like.
Access to the property is via two flights of stairs (not a problem for me, but might be a consideration for others), and it is important to remember to lock the street-access door. As I didn't drive, I can't comment on parking (but note that there is parking nearby.
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional - Spacious
- Samadhi (10/5): Perfect, location view value for money outstanding - The apartment is spacious , tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The view is wonderful and location fantastic. Great value for money. Check in and parking was easy.
- Mrs (8/5): Nice spacious apartment, good area close to amenities - Good location on the edge of the town centre, easy walking to local amenities, plenty of shops, restaurants and pubs to choose from, free parking space allocated in car park just around the corner from accommodation, the balcony was great for sitting out in the evening, there was a music festival on opposite so we had a great view, well equipped apartment if you fancy cooking but plenty of places to eat out for breakfast etc. would recommend to family and friends. The kitchen sink and fridge salad drawer had bits of food in, 2 cups had tea/coffee stains on the outside, shelf in bathroom had dirty marks on it, we stripped the bed on leaving and the duvet had stains on it.
- Ian (9/5): Superb -
- Peter (10/5): Quality flat in a perfect location with free parking , brilliant! - The location was perfect near the center of town but still quiet. Lovely apartment, with superb fixtures and fittings and a wonderful view over the quay and river. A wonderful place with convenient free parking All PERFECT
- Luke (10/5): very enjoyable i would return again for sure - everything. Strange place with the art studio but well worth a visit. wifi signal was quite poor
- Paul (10/5): A super find and a very enjoyable stay. - Great location. Well equipped. Comfortable. Good comms with the owners. Super bed. All just perfect. Slightly rough towels. Some kitchen units not operating smoothly but, that’s being really picky.
- Nigel (10/5): An ideal base for exploring the town and surrounding area. - Contemporary, with good facilities, and superb views from the west facing windows. Everything was fine.
- Paul (10/5): Great place, clean and a parking space 😀 - Great location and very nice furnishings Nothing
- Andrew (9/5): A great place to stay in the heart of Kings Lynn.. will definitely be going back - Central location, easy to find, car parking space close by. The apartment was fantastic - clean, spacious and well equipped :-) Nothing comes to mind
- Emily (9/5): Great place to stay - Great location and view from the apartment. It was really well equipped. Airy and light too. Really enjoyed our stay. Nothing to say here.
- John (9/5): The stay was for a special occasion and it was extra special. On the final evening we sat on the verandah a glass of win - The property is exceptionally positioned; elevated, in the centre of the old historic town and with its own parking spot nearby. A very short walk takes you into the main shopping area and you are very adjacent to the quayside. The view from the dining table is wonderful, the open plan layout is very spacious and comfortable and the kitchen is very well equipped. Elevation comes at a price, there are two steepish stair cases leading up to the flat. Not a problem for most but it would be too much for people with any mobility problems. The shower head fixing needs some attention.
- Callum (10/5): Exceptional -
- Margot (10/5): We will definitely be back. We thoroughly enjoyed out stay. - Fantastic views, best equipped kitchen, comfy beds, handsomely furnished, good location, private parking. Indeed as described: some serious stairs. Not a problem for us, but maybe for some.
- Laura (10/5): The property is a great location to explore the area, it was quiet and comfortable a real home from home. - Comfortable, clean , light and bright , great view, all the facilities you need Great view , spacious, modern, private
- Marie (10/5): Wonderful base for exploring with lots of very nice resturants close by. Very helpful owner. - Location perfect. Close to town centre but quiet. Everything we wanted from an appartment. Would definatly use again when in Kings Lynn or surrounding area. Nothing, everything exceeded expectations
- Kostrycki (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stephen (10/5): Perfect town centre base. - The apartment was ideally located on the edge of the town centre with a short walk to all the shops. Great views of the river and the old custom house. The town centre was clean and had a good variety of shops. It was a good base to explore the coast at Heacham and Hunstanton. There was nothing to dislike.
- George (10/5): most enjoyable - Very comfortable and clean.
- William (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (9/5): Superb - Rather spacious interior and very nice veiws The three flights of stairs can get tiring after a while
- Yasmin (10/5): Exceptional - Really nice apartment with all needed facilities. I travel a lot for work so was nice to stay somewhere with a kitchen! Veronica was great with communication and explained the check in process so well. Will definitely be booking in the future Ironing facilities would be nice as my clothes got a few creases from being in the suitcase. Also some form of air conditioning. With the room being on the top floor it was very hot
- Bates (8/5): Very good -
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stephen (8/5): Very good -
- Douglas (8/5): Very good -
- Anthony (8/5): Great location, easy to find with good facilities. Free, safe parking. - We liked the views, the bed and the location. The stairs, the low ceiling in places and the sofa wasn’t as comfortable as we are used to.
- Frank (9/5): Very good and comfortable. - There was no breakfast included but the facilities included a full kitchen. The apartment was clean and well spacious. Nothing
- Anonymous (7/5): Loved the property and location, not a fan of the cleanliness - Great location for all amenities. The property was found to be not clean. Dust was observer on vents, surfaces and fan. Shower head was dirty and had heavy buildup of scale. Electrical items were not PAT tested
- Ben (7/5): Good -
- Alison (9/5): Pleasant stay and we loved the location. - Location was perfect and our host was there in person which was nice. Softer towels would be preferable
- Elaine (10/5): Exceptional - Such a beautiful flat, everything was there to make you feel right at home. The address is just perfect for walking into the city center. Such incredible views and being able to have breakfast on the balcony was wonderful.
- Joe (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nat (9/5): Superb -
- Carter (6/5): Double booked, different accommodation offered - Great location, good space, host very friendly Did not stay at the penthouse as it was double booked, luckily the owner hsd a apartment which she offered us.
Had issues with hot water and showers not working correctly, Was going through process of been finished, apartment will be great when finished..
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Nathan (6/5): Pleasant -
- Barbara (9/5): Wonderfully relaxed few day, definitely worth a longer stay to discover the surrounding country side - Being in the centre of the historic town , so many lovely buildings and still close to all facilities. Sharing the building with an art gallery, inspiring and thought provoking exhibits. Being so close to two rivers and watching the rise and fall of the tides. The skyscapes, better than tv Any improvements would have spoilt the charm, we were impressed by what they had managed to do with the space.
Using the cooker though, and perhaps this is my fault, seemed to over heat and set off a very loud smoke detector.
- Pd (9/5): Lovely place to stay and relax . Thanks - Lovely appartment with views to the river. At the heart of the town. Superb host.
- Lorraine (8/5): Very good -
- Gavin (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (9/5): Superb - Location is excellent, and all of the instructions received were useful and accurate. As well as being very well fitted-out, the apartment is very peaceful with lovely views. I didn't have the chance to use the balcony, but I reckon it's a great spot for enjoying a glass of wine in the summer..!
