- Erman (3/5): Unclean, Overpriced Stay in Telde - Choose Central Location Instead - The location is near the sea and beach in Telde. The accommodation was in an abysmal state of neglect, with filthy floors that forced us to become unwilling cleaners on our very first day. Throughout our entire week-long stay, the complete absence of housekeeping service was appalling - not a single offer to refresh the room or replace the linens, which stands in stark contrast to standard hotel practices of daily cleaning service. The walls were disgracefully unkempt, marred by unsightly smudges and stains that made sleeping next to them deeply unsettling. The towels provided were clearly worn out and threadbare, desperately needing replacement rather than being passed on to new guests. Adding insult to injury, the property's location in Telde proved highly inconvenient, requiring either driving or taking buses to access any decent restaurants or cafes in the center. The excessive price charged for such substandard accommodations in this remote location was nothing short of outrageous. In addition to all these issues, they inappropriately withheld our €200 deposit. Despite multiple attempts to contact the host, we received nothing but dismissive responses of "we are checking and will get back to you" - in both Spanish and English. The situation remained unresolved until I escalated the matter to Booking.com and provided proof of payment. Suddenly, their response time miraculously improved, and they claimed the refund would be issued "tomorrow." How remarkable that it took Booking.com's intervention to prompt such swift action! Their behavior regarding the deposit perfectly exemplifies the unprofessional management we experienced throughout our stay.
