Guest Reviews
- MATTHEW (10/5): Amazing and a long weekend myself, my partner and friends will all remember. until next time! - Location and setting of the property is stunning! Will definitely be looking to come back in the future with friends or family again! Gorgeous large spaces, and bedrooms very cozy and comfy for all. If there were any issues, I was able to contact the host with a quick response. In which they were informative and friendly, would highly recommend! No negatives!
- Mikaela (10/5): Cannot fault - We'll be back again! - Beautiful location, perfect for countryside walks & pub dinner. The house is stunning, decorated beautifully, plenty of space and amazing facilities including a warm swimming pool (it was at 32' for our stay), a home gym, lovely courtyard for al fresco dining, lovely living & dining rooms with plenty of communal seating and a pantry of dreams! N/A
- lesley (8/5): - Very roomy house with lovely homely feel. Everything we needed for family get together was provided. Very warm, nice gardens. good location to see country houses and small pretty villages. Quiet place to stay. Plenty of parking except when pool being used for external classes. Reserved parking for guests would be helpful. On morning of departure, caretaker let himself in house 45 minutes before the departure time, felt pressured to leave.
- Joanne (8/5): Amazing, the house was the perfect size for our weekend together. - A beautiful house which is set in a quaint little village. Lovely walks on your doorstep. We all had decent sized bedrooms the lounge and dining room were large enough for all of us.
Big TV with all streaming services and WiFi included. Cleanliness was the main issue we experienced in the kitchen, as it wasn’t as clean as we would have hoped. The rest of the house was clean though.
The ovens had not been cleaned and smoked when we first used them. In fact I cleaned the main oven myself, otherwise we couldn’t have used it due to the smell and oily smoke.
The baking trays and dishes all needed a clean before use also.
The fridge hadn’t been wiped clean and the water filter was green in the filter compartment, and the cutlery trays were a bit crummy.
Recommendations - possibly invest in another fridge, with such a large house sleeping many people, we struggled to get all our food and drinks into the fridge but luckily it was cold so we stored most of our wine, beer outside in the garden.
A ‘4 slice toaster’ please, as it took ages making toast for 10 people in the morning using a small 2 slice toaster.
I think the house would benefit from a deep clean in the kitchen area.

- gillian (10/5): Beautiful house for a family gathering. - Wonderful house for a family gathering; spacious, warm and comfortable. We were a group of eleven with three generations including five children and it was perfect for our needs. The pool was the icing on the cake.
Location was great. There was a park two minutes away with a children’s playground. A twenty minute walk along quiet country lanes took us to a nice pub that did food.
Thank you Wolfgang for sharing your beautiful home. Not enough dining chairs had to bring a couple down from the bedrooms. A few extra things in the kitchen would have been useful; a ladle, serving spoons, a bread knife and sharper knives.
- Lisa (8/5): Lovely property, friendly, helpful owners/staff onsite who sorted problems quickly - Plenty of space for our large family group. Beautiful property, beds comfortable, pool a great addition There needs to be more seating in the living room. There is plenty of room in this house for a big family but nowhere near enough sofas in the lounge for us all in the evenings

- Gabriele (10/5): -
- Blackwell (10/5): - It was comfortable and had all we needed for a large family get together. The swimming pool was amazing, beds very comfortable, courtyard was great for the dogs. The oven wasn't clean when we arrived.
- Michael (8/5): Quirky with a relaxed vibe - There was a relaxed vibe, enough parking spaces, an enclosed garden, and plenty of space in every room for our family group of ten.
There was plenty of hot water (always a bonus), the family dog could be included and the highlight was the large heated swimming pool where we spent a lot of our time.
We thoroughly enjoyed staying together here. Minor quibbles such as the toaster was far too small for a large group, there were no (cheap would do) champagne glasses for our celebrations, and the windows needed a clean.
- Lesley (10/5): Perfect accommodation for family attending our daughter’s wedding. The house was big and comfortable. - Comfortable and spacious.
- Christopher (10/5): - Freedom to do what we wanted when we wanted to
- Bryant (9/5): - Great house, great pool- lots of space. Perfect for a family getaway It would have been useful to have been given more than one key.
- Kaylee (10/5): Can't wait to return! - We had an absolutely amazing stay at Huntershields, had everything we could want and more. The kids didn't leave the pool, the garden was amazing especially for our dog that could roam freely without worrying that he would get out. There is a lovely 20 minute walk to the Narrow boat pub. The beds were so comfy, we would love to know what matresses they are! We can't wait to visit again!
- Annette (10/5): - The pool was amazing. Nothing
- Ryan (10/5): - Lovely place for a largish group to stay for a few days. Nice and quiet, got a few decent pubs and restaurants nearby.
Everyone had a great time
- Cynthia (9/5): Superb -
- Susan (10/5): Perfect place for a family get together - Everything!!! Nothing!!!
- Dick (9/5): This place is great for a big group. - The house is beautiful and spacious set in a private garden/ courtyard. The pool was warm and easy to access. We travelled as a family group and utilised the playing field across the road for group games. We loved that it was dog friendly too!
- Ann (8/5): We had a great time, lots of room to move around, we all loved the pool which was warm all the time. - There is plenty of space for a large family gathering, kitchen was well equipped, the pool was great! It was very handy for shopping delivery, food delivery and places to eat out. The barbecue was also good to have. There is also a very good park about 3 minutes walk from the house. Some of the beds weren't the most comfortable and a couple of the showers could have been better. We had to be careful with the oven, a couple of times it overcooked things quite quickly!!
- Cherise (7/5): Great house but needs to be safer - Spacious, everyone had lots of space, great kitchen and dining facilities. Well decorated, cosy and comfortable furnishings. There was no electricity in the upstairs sockets which was not good, especially as one of our parties had a medical device they needed plugged in.
Water pressure was not the best, and 2 of the showers were not usable despite them being ensuite.
Please improve the safety of the house by having a lock on the front door and the pool room door. As a group of women, no lock made us feel vulnerable.
- Mandy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Katie (10/5): Fab stay in a beautiful house. Booked for a family get together, the kids loved the pool. The house was really cosy and - Beautiful house , loved the swimming pool and that it’s dog friendly. Nothing to dislike
