Guest Reviews
- Helen (10/5): Kalbarri beautiful place to stay - It was much cleaner this time than the last day. Maybe my review had something to do with it. Staff is always friendly and helpful and the guests are very eclectic. Echoes a good vibe. No complaints
- Helen (10/5): I love Kalbarri and backpackers makes it all possible - Staff is very friendly and it was much cleaner this time Need towels in the kitchen and in the bathroom paper towel or multiple towels -makes me wonder if anyone ever washes their hands

- Conor (1/5): Did not stay. Had to rebook new accommodation due to safety concerns. - Nothing. Found a man lying in my bed when I checked in. Left and booked elsewhere due to safety concerns. Would not recommend to anyone. Serious safety and hygiene concerns.
- ting (7/5): -
- Edwina (2/5): - There is nothing to like about this place except its convenient location. For $80 per person per night in a good location, I was not expecting THAT much, but the reality was way worse. There is no manager or anyone in charge on site. We got a text telling us which was our room and how to get in. Not a problem, but besides that, there was no one to ask for any help. The 2 toilets were constantly running out of toilet paper which we didn't know where to go to get replenished so we went to the IGA to get our own. The floors everywhere were constantly wet (especially in the kitchen and main common area) which was not only a safety issue but quite frankly gross as we didn't know what the wetness was (water or other?). There is 2 toilets and 2 showers for about 35 people to share. Each night there was singing by the large tour group outside until about 11pm, despite the fact there were signs that said quiet time was from 10pm onwards (again, no one in charge on site to enforce the rules!). The outside area where they all congregate was literally outside all the rooms, and we had a 4am wakeup one morning for a sunrise hike so that was just inconsiderate. We certainly didn't start singing at 4am while they were all asleep. I would not recommend this place at all, you need to find a venue where there is at least a manager on site to go to for problems / questions.
- Helen (7/5): Could use improvement, but I felt safe and staff was friendly. Smoking should be further away from the main building. - Aaron was very friendly and accommodating. It’s just the facility itself was not too clean and having only two toilets and two showers and having tour buses come in in the middle of the night and waking up at 4 AM so they can journey is pretty disruptive The tour groups coming in at all hours, taking over the whole kitchen both when they come in and at 5 o’clock in the morning till nine. Only two toilet toilets and two showers not good.
- Claudia (10/5): - The kitchen is full equipped and big space Everything was good :)
- Toneisha (8/5): -
- Mereraina (7/5): Bed and private room comfy. Shower and toilets could do with upgrading. - Location Our Guest not cleaning up the kitchen after using it. Left benches dirty, sink full of dishes

- Haley (9/5): This is a great place to connect with people and the town. - Loved the kitchen and outdoor seating spaces. Location to town / the beaches was very ideal. Limited toilets and showers
- Niamh (5/5): Fine - Good for a overnight stay and near Kalbarri national park One shared bathroom and toilet for male and female for the whole floor.
Code locks for the doors. Old and tricky to use. Another guest also found tricky.
Dated.
Noisey. Can hear people downstairs and walking up and down stairs.

- Ashley (6/5): Fine for a few nights. - Excellent location, within walking distance to beach, restaurants and shops. Outdoor BBQ/dining area was nice. The most affordable option in town as a solo traveller. Indoor kitchen was very messy for the duration of my stay, with other guests leaving dirty dishes, food, and rubbish all over the place. Also barely any cutlery available.
- Corentin (7/5): -

- Bruce (5/5): Great place to visit. The long term guests were welcoming and friendly - The young folks that were running it were helpful and friendly Security was mediocre. The front door had no lock for the first 3 days and after it was installed the door was left open often by guests. Other guests and apparently the cleaners did not keep room doors closed when they were called away or started another task.
- hanrahan (7/5): - Easy to get in, quiet to a point, decently clean Bathroom could do with hygiene management, especially the shower, smelt weird. Make sure ypu close areas that are getting painted, seems less professional, as some could go in there and steal or mess up the place. Bed were a little soft. To the point the mattress bent in
- Gözde (1/5): The staff at the hostel were not very professional. One staff member accused me of not paying, even though I showed my r - About the property I can’t say anything positive
- Julie (7/5): Ok! - We slept very good!
Parking in front of the hostel, well equipped kitchen and nice location. Old, only one bathroom for the all floor. With a little bit of effort it could be much better!
- Kang neng (8/5): - Great location Google
- Kathrin (1/5): Would not recommend to stay here. Reception is a room full of random items, every stranger can walk into the property, d - The location only Dirty, no reception desk, abandoned hostel with no structure, dirty bathrooms, no soap, run down furniture everywhere

- Francesco (3/5): Dirty and old - Position As always in Australia hostels are super expensive for what they actually offer.
They take advantage of lack of options to offer very poor service for high price.
Before you guys reply I’ve worked as accountant for Australian hotels, so I know what I m talking about.
- Karen (2/5): Ik ben eerder vertrokken - Vies, geen personeel moest zelf bellen voor toiletpapier Vies!!!

- EUGENIO (7/5): -
- Yoan (6/5): -
- Yuzuru (4/5): -
- Alan Wei Lun (10/5): -
- Alek (7/5): -
- Hsiang (7/5): - shower water is hot only 1 bathroom is not enough
- Raphael (5/5): - Location to beach and iga. Comfortable and clean bed Kitchen not enough rubbish bin and bathroom could be cleaned better
- Abin (7/5): - The location pretty much close to the beach. Bit loud outside even 10 pm.
Aria condizionata e ventilatori in camera.
- Gabrielle (7/5): - Great price, comfy, spacious Bathroom had a lot of mould
- Emily (8/5): great value for money - great location and very easy check in process. exactly as described and very socialable so perfect for solo travellers to make friends ! no bed curtains (as shown in photos) - not an issue for me personally but may swap some people’s opinions

- Nickei (2/5): Avoid staying here - I liked nothing: this is an appalling backpackers. I would not recommend staying here.
Dirty, noisy, extremely loud, and totally overpriced.
The bed coverings were grimy and sticky, the room was dirty, the kitchen was filthy, there's one toilet and one shower for 8 rooms, many of which were 6 or 8 bed dormitories. (So for approx, 40 to 50 people)
A lot of the seasonal workers stay here on a longer term.
We had 2 guys drinking and talking loudly until after midnight. Other workers got up at 4.30am waking many of us....
I had booked to stay 2 nights but left after one.
Avoid staying here. As above
- Julie (6/5): - Localisation Bathroom not very
- Gerrie (8/5): -
- Wen Chia (5/5):
- Hannah (4/5): - Great location. Very old, run down and dirty. Both nights there were groups making noise until well past midnight. The kitchen was always a mess with stuff left everywhere
- Judai (10/5): Very homey and great location. - Very homey, and the Filipino manager is very accommodating and very helpful in every way. For hostel this is good enough compare to other.

- Elisa (9/5): Superb - This is my second time staying at this beautiful hostel. The location is excellent, the staff is super friendly, and the vibe is amazing. Highly recommended! Great value for money.
- Hayley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kate (2/5): Very poor -
- Gavin (8/5): Great value and location - Love the room it was clean
- Desiré (6/5): Cheap and comfy, but not the cleanest - The beds were comfy and we had a toilet and shower in our dorm, which was super convenient! The common areas were quite dirty and a little smelly.
- Uni (10/5): A fun, relaxed, and memorable stay with friends in the heart of Kalbarri! - I stayed at Kalbarri Backpackers for 3 days with my friends, and we absolutely loved it! The place was clean, relaxed, and had such a welcoming vibe. The rooms were comfortable and tidy, and the kitchen and BBQ facilities were perfect for enjoying our meals and meeting other travellers.
The staff were super kind and helpful, giving us great tips on where to go and what to see in Kalbarri.
The location was ideal too – close to the beach, shops, and everything in town. If you're travelling with friends and looking for a fun, budget-friendly place to stay in Kalbarri, this is the one. We’d definitely come back again!

- Jack (8/5): Very good -
- Bree (8/5): Convenient and fair - Easy to find, close to the beach, quiet room, good bef Kitchen was dirty
- Paula (7/5): Will definitely be going back - The comfiest bed. Lovely to have a pool Checking in was difficult
- Molly (6/5): Pleasant - Great location, close to the bus stop, staff were really nice and worked hard to keep things tidy. Some of the other guests were a bit odd, giving the place a bit of a strange vibe for me...
- Arya (9/5): Superb -
- Mette (6/5): Pleasant -
- Amy (5/5): Average - Rooms were clean with air con and fan. Parking outside and outdoor seating area. Close to IGA and beach. Kitchen was dirty. Most people seem like permanents. Only one shower and toilet. Really think soap should be provided at bathroom and kitchen sinks.
- Jasmin (7/5): OK for 1 Night - The room was big and clean and it has a good aircondition. Unfortunatelly it has just 1 Bathroom and the kitchen was not so clean. It‘s difficult to find the reception.
- Natalia (7/5): Great place but need to control the noise levels better - Good location for Kalbarri National Park A big tour group came and were making so much noise in the hostel and out on the street until approx 02:30am and then they were noisy again around 04:30am leaving the hostel. The hosts need to be stricter on the noise levels after 11pm.
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Seggerman (6/5): Meh - The location was good and beds were comfortable Upon check-in, we were greeted by the receptionist, who was outside eating dinner with the other hostel guests. That’s perfectly fine—I also work as a receptionist at a hostel and eat with my guests all the time. The difference is, I still get up and help when needed.
When we arrived, he didn’t seem to care enough to get up right away, taking a few more bites before finally helping us to our room. When we asked for towels, he said he’d bring them in a minute but didn’t. Later, I came back to ask again, and he was still sitting down eating. When I asked, he simply said, “Dinner!” and pointed at his plate. Fine. I told him we’d grab them later. When we got back, he did put towels on our beds, which was nice, I guess, but the whole interaction left a bad impression.
To make matters worse, the upstairs bathroom didn’t have any soap or paper towels the entire time we were there.
I understand dinner interruptions aren’t fun, but this is literally your job. Guests shouldn’t feel like they’re inconveniencing you just by asking for basic assistance.
- Sarah (9/5): Superb - Floor of the room could have been cleaned better
- Quilanita (8/5): Very good -
- Yik (8/5): Very good -
