• King (9/5): Silken Thomas stay - The cottage my partner and I were staying in was absolutely fantastic, it was pristine and we genuinely couldn't fault it. The room itself had every amenity you could ask for... The bathroom was gorgeous as well! I had very few things bad to take away from my stay, the few things I didn't like were that the bottom sheet for the bed didn't fit the mattress at all and so it buckled and undid itself during the night. The pillows were all very, very firm and I did not enjoy that at all, the lack of softer pillows made it very difficult to sleep. The bathroom is absolutely gorgeous it just needs a nonslip shower mat as it can get very slippery.

• McGee (10/5): A great place to stay all round. Definitely recommend ! - Such lovely Accomodation and so reasonably priced. Right in the middle of the town and about 5 mins from Kildare village. Receptionist upon arrival was so lovely to deal with, the room was fab. Comfy bed, clean. The food in the restaurant was amazing too a great selection on the menu. We stayed in the adjoining bar for the night that seems to also have live music every weekend which is ideal. Free parking right beside the accommodation for those who are staying and you can come and go as you please. A real one for all place defo recommend ! Nothing !

• Amanda (10/5): Perfect Kildare stay - Amazing room, beautiful big wet room bathroom with drench shower, 2 huge queen size comfy beds with lovely bed linen and so many cushions, lovely modern art, tea + coffee facilities in the room, toiletries. Perfect location in Kildare town with free parking. Breakfast was excellent and such value for money. Returned to the Silken Thomas and would 100% recommend. The property is amazing, as are the attentive staff. Nothing to not like!

• David (9/5): A Gem in the heart of Kildare village. - The staff are first class,. They are why we keep returning. They are friendly, helpful and professional. We stayed in the Postmaster's House. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, clean and fresh with an excellent en suite. The hotel is situated very conveniently to the shopping village (the reason for our trip). The resturant was excellent and great value. My wife is coeliac but the staff were well educated and offered her a great choice of suitable dishes. Highly recommend. Only staying for one night

Car park was busy, but it was a Sunday. We had a good meal, just pub grub, but very acceptable. I found the duvet cover and pillows a little rough, not as good quality as I'd have expected.

• Colin (5/5): Good but a little disappointing - The room was a good size. And well appointed. There was a very strong electric air freshener which was very overpowering. I had to unplug and open the windows to allow fresh air in the room. There was no heat from the radiator at all and although it wasnt a cold night it was uncomfortable while watching TV. It meant there was no heat at all in the room this morning. Now everything else was great in the room . The bed was super comfortable . The bathroom had a smell in it like a kind of suir smell. Apart from that it was great. The shower was soo good , powerful and warm very enjoyable. Sorry for the negative comments as I use Silkin Thomas a lot and always enjoy the experience. All the staff are 1st class.

• Martin (10/5): Memorably pleasant and convenient. Our thanks to the gracious staff. - This was really well located for our needs. The decor was very elegant for an older, historic, premises with freshly decorated muted colours. Rooms were quiet and comfortable with tea/ coffee facilities. It had everything we wanted, including EV chargers. Not a thing; we were really pleasantly surprised for such a central location. Wish we had a few days to expel the sights and enjoy it more. The staff, from reception to departure were exceptionally welcoming and accommodating.

• Peter (10/5): Excellent Village stay in Kildare - Arrived at the hotel and met by Beata who we thought was outstanding, friendly and represented the hotel excellently, room was great size and facilities in the room were really good. Car park was free to use too Breakfast: Outstanding quality for both Location Right in the heart of Kildare Village local cafes, pubs and amenities on your doorstep 55 mins out from Dublin but would recommend this hotel and we are planning to book again

The location was excellent, Kildare village on our doorstep, next to Silken Thomas restaurant where the food was amazing and fairly priced, staff were very friendly and helpful. Music in the bar was great. Within walking to Kildare Village Outlet shops and short drive to Irish National Stud Farm. On site parking made life very simple coming and going as we pleased. Room was a little warmer than we'd like but was fine once we opened the window. Not much we didn't like, couldn't fault it.

The decor was very nice and the bed was very comfortable. We had a lovely stay here! The bathroom was spotless and the shower was fantastic. Very happy. Also the staff were very welcome and friendly.. There was parking available too at no extra cost for overnight guests. Nothing. Everything was just perfect.
• Flanagan (9/5): Excellent day and night with brilliant food and courteous staff - Staff and setting were excellent, Staff extremely helpful and went out of their way to make sure we were fed even calling me to facilitate dining in the bar for the racing. Guinness in the bar was not great. We probably would have stayed there for the day if it had of been good. Only really matters to Guiness drinkers I suppose but the majority of us were.
